Started off great after a long train travel day. We arrived late but check in was good. We had booked for 3 nights. The 2nd day we returned to hotel after a very long day hiking, we were hot, dirty, tired. We are over 65 and a nap was in order. It was 75 degrees and 5pm so we opened the room windows only to be blasted by loud music being played at the hotel patio bar directly beneath or room. 10 feet from window. I went to front desk and asked how long this would continue and was told probably until 10-11pm since the weather was so good. Terrible response from hotel. After listening to this for several hours I went back to desk and demanded another room. I was told they would decide and leave a note for me at desk. I returned an hour later and found note saying they could provide a different room which was done.

Location is great, on the main high street near shops and train station and ski gondola Room (attic) very outdated decor, no lifts so had to take heavy suitcases to 3rd floor not good!!! Also, breakfast only mediocre continental no cooked options/cereals etc. Ski boot room in basement very useful.

Location and view are excellent. Rooms are basic and outdated but clean and comfortable. Shared bathrooms are also very clean. Service is excellent in both the hotel and restaurant downstairs. Shared fridge available. Also a water cooler to fill your bottle. Short walk to train station. Cable car is right across the street.

There is no WIFI Connection for more than 3 days. Only a small kettle in the basement is provided for sharing with all guests in the lodge. But the location is convenient with shopping, hiking, trains and beautiful mountain views.

Very small room, can hear squeaky noise when walking or even the people walking above your room. Very clean. No elevator and nobody helps to carry luggage. The guy who was the owner I guess when I arrived an hour early said in a strong tone it's still early to check in and said "bring your luggage at the basement storage" no hi hello good afternoon even if I said so. He was nice later when I asked how to turn on heater. Girls at the front desk helped me carry luggage. The receptionist girl lend me an umbrella and was so nice to talk too. Respectful and have a positive attitude. It's not far from the train station. Positive attitude, politeness and being respectful is important when u are running a business as I do work with serving and taking care of people.

To start on the positive note, this place is at the best location, just 5mins walk from the station and beautiful views on the front. Now to the bad parts. Checkin is only allowed between 4-6pm.I was told to pay extra 50CHF if I come later. Zero amenities in the room, not even a fan for summer months. No coffee maker or refrigerator in room, a kettle can be borrowed with a 20CHF deposit. No elevators. No safety grills on windows which are completely open, this could be dangerous with little kids. The toilet is ridiculously tiny.

Cons : Room service person not changed our towels for four days even after requesting it. Common bathroom & toilet on each floor. Bath soap / hand soap was not there. No elevator. You have to climb stairs with big bags. No air conditioner or fan. Was not able to sleep properly due to high temperature.

The room is clean and tidy. The carpet needs a bit cleaning as it has a weird smell Excellent price and view from the room and the room has a sink with drinkable cold water and soap. There are multiple shared bathrooms and toilets in every floor which were nice spacious and clean. In the basement there is a fridge and a kettle for coffee. You can also get an iron if needed. Excellent central location and price and would recommend.

Excellent location in Wengen with beautiful views and very reasonable stay compared to other hotels in the area. The room was decent, including basic necessities such as towels and toiletries. Shampoo and conditioner are not included. Staff is polite and helpful. They also provide a hot water kettle for 20 Swiss francs deposit.

Walkable from the station, and near the gondola station, located on the Main Street near the church. No lift thus not recommended for those with heavy large suitcase. We left the suitcase in the basement ski room entering from the ski room door thus no need to carry downstairs. Limited staff but helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant - Swiss sausage with rosti and raclette and finishing with Apfel strudel which we enjoyed. Very attentive service.

The staff was welcoming, but when we arrived in the room, the light did not work. Moreover, the bathroom was located inside the room, which made our stay uncomfortable. The towels were not changed during our stay, and even when we tried to ask at the reception, there was almost never anyone available. We brought some disposable items, but the cleaner placed them in the desk drawers, so we did not realize we had actually lost them until we stayed at the next hotel. We would not recommend this hotel for a vacation. We even saw some guests who were not given their room number or key by the reception, and they eventually chose a room by themselves!!

Beautiful outside and outdated inside. Very small room with built in bathroom.garbage was not removed from the room during my stay. Front desk was open only front 2 to 6, very inconvenient to check in and out. Restaurant was open only for few days.

The hotel is conveniently located near railway station and to edge of village centre. Hotel and room are looking a bit tired but clean and overall comfortable. Restaurant was great with nice staff and comparatively reasonably priced menu.

This hotel is the worst among the hotels I've ever stayed at around the world! Bad facilities, rude stuff, poor environment. The setting of this hotel is, the first floor is a restaurant and 2nd above is the hotel with a same owner. The facilities are pretty old and some of them are broken or not functioning properly. There is no A/C, no fan, no refrigerator, no microwave, no coffee/tea.... The staffs there are not friendly. When they met guests they just ignore and even when I said hi to them they didn't have any response. The front desk was taken care of by the restaurant waitress/waiter. They came late and stop the service early (they might be there in the evening when the restaurant is still open if you are lucky). There is a terrace right outside my room window (on the same level). They run a bar there. At the first couple of nights the bar, even though it's a bit noisy, got quite after 9:00pm or 10:00pm. So I had no complaint about it. At the last night, it was pretty noisy. The bar played music and their customers were chatting there loudly, even after 11:00 they won't stop. I normally go to bad at 10:00pm and get up early. But the noise made me hard to fall into sleep. At around 11:15 I went down to the front desk and I was lucky that there happen to be a stuff there. I complained to her about the noise and asked her to make them quite so I can sleep. Know what she said? It's out of our control! So ridiculous, unprofessional and make no any sense. It's your property.

At around 11:15 I went down to the front desk and I was lucky that there happen to be a stuff there. I complained to her about the noise and asked her to make them quite so I can sleep. Know what she said? It's out of our control! So ridiculous, unprofessional and make no any sense. It's your property.

There is no WIFI Connection for more than 3 days. Only a small kettle in the basement is provided for sharing with all guests in the lodge. But the location is convenient with shopping, hiking, trains and beautiful mountain views.

Very small room, can hear squeaky noise when walking or even the people walking above your room. Very clean. No elevator and nobody helps to carry luggage. The guy who was the owner I guess when I arrived an hour early said in a strong tone it's still early to check in and said "bring your luggage at the basement storage" no hi hello good afternoon even if I said so. He was nice later when I asked how to turn on heater. Girls at the front desk helped me carry luggage. The receptionist girl lend me an umbrella and was so nice to talk too. Respectful and have a positive attitude. It's not far from the train station. Positive attitude, politeness and being respectful is important when u are running a business as I do work with serving and taking care of people.

There wasn’t any AC, but since the location was up in the mountains, the room doesn’t get too hot. The bathroom was indeed small, there is a public refrigerator, the rooms are not the most soundproof, and there are no elevators. These are somethings to keep in mind. What I liked was that you can borrow a kettle from the reception, and the reception lady was very nice. There is also free tea and coffee at the lobby area. Great view from the room and excellent location in the town. Pretty good for its price. Wengen is also a little nice town with easy transportation via train.

Walkable from the station, and near the gondola station, located on the Main Street near the church. No lift thus not recommended for those with heavy large suitcase. We left the suitcase in the basement ski room entering from the ski room door thus no need to carry downstairs. Limited staff but helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant - Swiss sausage with rosti and raclette and finishing with Apfel strudel which we enjoyed. Very attentive service.

The room and hotel were nice, by Swiss mountain lodge standards. And there is no place more beautiful than Lauterbrunnen and Wengen sits on the ridge just above the Lauterbrunnen valley. The family suite was large enough for all 4 of us and was comfortable, even without a fridge, A/C, and other amenities many hotels offer. The only reason I am giving the property middling ratings is the way we were treated by the couple who are the hosts/owners of the hotel. Actually, my dealings with her were OK, but he treated me like I was a bother from my very first contact with him via e-mail. We had a long day driving here and I noticed they required check-in prior to 6pm. I contacted them to let them know we would not make it by then and was rudely told that I would need to give them a specific ETA on the day of check-in. So, on that day I called to let them know we would be arriving around 8pm. With a very bothered tone I was told there would be no one here at that time. and that I would have to pay a fee to have someone there to check us in and upon arrival we were told again how inconvenient our arrival time was for them. Throughout our stay, anytime I had to ask a question of him I was treated like a nuisance. This man has no business being the the hospitality industry. Many family lodges in Europe have limited times for staff to check you in, but every one has coded lockboxes outside or some other method of accommodating later arrivals, why haven't they figured this out?

El inconveniente lo tuve con el check-in (ya que el hotel no tiene personal de recepcion, solo estan de 13 a 18 hs). Tuve un percance el dia del traslado, me descompuse en la montana y como viajaba desde zermatt no iba a poder llegar en el horario que me pedían. me comunique con el hotel para avisar que mi check-in seria mas tarde, jamas me respondió. Tuve que comunicarme 2 veces con HOTELES.COM los cuales trataron de resolver mi problema y avisar al hotel de mi llegada mas tarde. Recien ahi respondió el hotel (cuando intervino la plataforma). Me querían cobrar 50 CHF (francos suizos) por llegar fuera del horario, alegando que debia avisar con 48 hs de anticipación. Pero, si hay un percance 1 dia antes o el dia del check-in, no lo tienen en cuenta? No tengo manera de avisar 48 hs antes. El anfitrión me dio mil vueltas, pidiéndome horarios de llagada que no podia proporcionar, ya que viajaba en tren desde zermatt. Me molesto las vueltas que dio para dejarme un sobre a mi nombre, con la llave en la recepcion, no era para tanto. Shared fridge available. Also a water cooler to fill your bottle. Short walk to train station. Cable car is right across the street.

This hotel is the worst among the hotels I've ever stayed at around the world! Bad facilities, rude stuff, poor environment. The setting of this hotel is, the first floor is a restaurant and 2nd above is the hotel with a same owner. The facilities are pretty old and some of them are broken or not functioning properly. There is no A/C, no fan, no refrigerator, no microwave, no coffee/tea.... The staffs there are not friendly. When they met guests they just ignore and even when I said hi to them they didn't have any response. The front desk was taken care of by the restaurant waitress/waiter. They came late and stop the service early (they might be there in the evening when the restaurant is still open if you are lucky). There is a terrace right outside my room window (on the same level). They run a bar there. At the first couple of nights the bar, even though it's a bit noisy, got quite after 9:00pm or 10:00pm. So I had no complaint about it. At the last night, it was pretty noisy. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING STAY for the price we paid due to the lack of hospitality, outdated facilities, and poor service. Do yourself a favor by avoiding this place at any cost. When we arrived at 1:30 PM, we knew check-in was at 2 PM, but the staff completely ignored us. Three staff members walked by without any greeting or eye contact. Instead of offering assistance, we were left waiting until a fellow guest helped us store our bags so we could explore the area. Returning at 2 PM, I again waited at the reception, but the staff in the back ignored us until I called them over. Even then, they gestured they’d come in a few minutes. When the receptionist finally arrived, she didn’t greet us or apologize, and her checking her watch felt particularly rude. There was no elevator—something we were warned about but still inconvenient. Worse, the room wasn’t ready when we entered. As we were settling in, a cleaning staff member barged in without knocking and left quickly without apologizing, slamming the door behind her. The bathroom was cramped and outdated, making it uncomfortable to use, especially for larger people. No cleaning service or fresh towels were provided during our stay, and we returned both nights to find the same used towels still hanging. The room locks were also old and awkward to use. Finally, at check-out, there was no goodbye or acknowledgment, just a request to leave the keys and a cold retreat to the back.

What a wonderful place. Oskar the owner was so great, kind, good recommendations for hikes and very nice and patient with our chaotic 18 month old daughter. The town was beautiful and peaceful but well connnected to the major sights. Don’t hesitate, it was my favorite hotel of our trip!

We loved the location in Wengen and wished we had more time there to explore all the things to do and see on foot. A picturesque traditional Swiss building right in the middle of the village and the cows came right by our door.

Location is great, on the main high street near shops and train station and ski gondola Room (attic) very outdated decor, no lifts so had to take heavy suitcases to 3rd floor not good!!! Also, breakfast only mediocre continental no cooked options/cereals etc. Ski boot room in basement very useful.

Totally inexperienced staff in reception. No assistance with bags on arrival. Staff rarely around in reception who, when around, had no idea about local availability of basic guest requirements eg restaurants, trains, etc. We were'nt informed that restaurant was closed and breakfast was not available contrary to advertised.

Quiet and beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed the breakfast. The shower and toilet in the room is rather small. It is quite tough to lug our luggages up the stairs up to the room, especially those on 3rd level.

The gentleman that ran the breakfast buffet, was so wonderful. When we checked out of the Hotel, it was raining and we had a 2 hour wait before our train. He let us stay in the dining room for comfort and kept checking on us ….. mind you it was closed in the restaurant…. Offering us tea or coffee. So kind !!

The room is small but clean. We stayed for 2 nights and are out most of the time so we only are there to sleep. We had breakfast at the restaurant with basic options. Service was good.
The room is small but clean. We stayed for 2 nights and are out most of the time so we only are there to sleep. We had breakfast at the restaurant with basic options. Service was good.

Walkable from the station, and near the gondola station, located on the Main Street near the church. No lift thus not recommended for those with heavy large suitcase. We left the suitcase in the basement ski room entering from the ski room door thus no need to carry downstairs. Limited staff but helpful. We had a room with view of the church but the clock rang every half hour even during the night. The room was okay with rather small bathroom but not thoroughly cleaned. We had dinner at the restaurant - Swiss sausage with rosti and raclette and finishing with Apfel strudel which we enjoyed. Very attentive service.

Chambre minuscule en contreplaqué et en plywood. Hôtel n’ayant pas fait l’objet de rénovation depuis très longtemps. Je ne recommande pas du tout sauf si vous voyager avec pitou.

Room 307. The bathroom is WAY too small to the point of ridiculous. I'd do away with the large armoire, reposition bed, and enlarge bathroom. A sheet for hot nights in the summer would be great especially since there's no air conditioning. Everything else is great! Love the two key system.

Hotel amenities were disappointing. There’s no ice available and nowhere to heat up food. An area down the basement only had a shared refrigerator and a kettle. We asked for a fork and a kitchen staffer said no. Most disappointing was the playground located right in front of the hotel and screams from the kids and noise from traffic going by was annoying. (It’s supposed to be car free but there are lots of transport vans going by.) The staffer at check in was pleasant but that was the only highlight. The bathroom in the room was built into a small closet.
