The check in experience was not pleasant. Room is too warm and there is no air con - check with front desk, and their reply is just open the window as it is winter! Unfortunately, the room is stuffy and the window is tiny, so it didn’t help much. Stayed 5 nights there and there were at least 4 sleepless nights. Such a bad experience. The location was the only plus side of this hotel.

We had booked a room for 3 on Expedia but when we checked in the lady at the reception said that this room has only a small double bed for 2 people and so we should use another room that have beds for 3 people. I had requested for an additional bed via Expedia earlier on but this hotel never responded. It was late in the evening and we were way to tired to look for another hotel so we agreed to follow the suggestion, paying additional $100. It was not a good start of the trip for us.

For a hotel at this price point, we expected much better. We had reserved two rooms to be shared among five people for three nights, booked through Expedia, one for two people and another for three. The triple at Hotel METROPOLO was stated to have separate beds. When we checked in, we were informed that the triple room meant for three people only had one king-sized bed, which they expected all three guests to share. They offered an upgrade to a larger room with a sofa bed for an additional 160 RMB (approximately $22.33 USD) per night, and told us there were no rollaway beds available. We reluctantly agreed. However, we quickly discovered that the “sofa bed” was neither a bed nor a proper sofa—it was more of a small loveseat. When we went to complain to the receptionist the next day, the staff made us wait for over 25 minutes before the manager appeared, who ultimately said the best they could do was offer us a rollaway bed “as a courtesy.”

The check in experience was not pleasant. Room is too warm and there is no air con - check with front desk, and their reply is just open the window as it is winter! Unfortunately, the room is stuffy and the window is tiny, so it didn’t help much. Stayed 5 nights there and there were at least 4 sleepless nights. Such a bad experience. The location was the only plus side of this hotel.

Great location. Staff was very kind and helpful. Room was comfortable and met all our needs. Excellent breakfast chef. Would like to recommend an ice machine for guests.

Like the location, convenience to the bund andshopping, comfortable room, and the size of the room. The breakfast is good. The property is a bit old. Furniture, bathroom, carpet, and the elevators are looking old but functional.

This is a very nice hotel. Only a few blocks from the Bund. Also a few blocks from Nanjing Shopping Street. The hotel is very nice. My only complaint about this hotel is that Hotels.com reservations are put in the back of the of the hotel facing the back of another building. Not only is it an ugly view but the back rooms get no natural light. When I asked for a better room I was nicely told that "discounted rooms get the back rooms". I was then offered to upgrade the room at a higher price.
