Prime Hotel

The hotel was under renovations so not all areas were accessible. Otherwise I had a great experience and would recommend this hotel. The included full breakfast was amazing and was available til 10am catering to travelers like myself who needed that extra sleep in. Heated underground parking was fantastic. All in all a great experience. Will definitely use the Prime again on my next visit to Fort McMurray.

The is very little parking at the hotel. There is underground parking which is great but when you check in there is no where to park. The breakfast is a very nice addition but was luck warm every day and there was only one green tea tea bag my whole stay. I drink tea, not coffee and they had absolutely nothing for me. I was not impressed. The rooms are comfortable and clean but the hall carpets are filthy and worn out. For the price, it's worth it but it could use improvement.

Pros: The quality for the money overall was great, indoor heated parking was really nice to have, rooms were good for the money with king size beds and sound proofing, multi night discount was appreciated. Cons: Overall cleanliness needs attention, indoor parking had limited capacity, not nearly enough to cover the hotel capacity, limited parking available nearby and no outdoor parking onsite, breakfast was ok but fresh brewed coffee was not available, just a vending type of machine with poor coffee, management and staff were not aware of what room had what available amenities/options whatsoever despite their own website being clear on that, staff could not verify the stated room amenities on their own website.

My window looked onto a hallway. There is not nearly enough parking. The building is under renovation so brown bag breakfast, they didn’t even have any ketchup for the breakfast sandwich inside. The elevator was glitchy. My door lock got stuck most of the time. Had to shoulder ram the door open half the time.

The property is in the middle of an extensive reno.

I chose this hotel for a business trip because it advertised a hot breakfast and an on-site pub/restaurant, ideal for relaxing after long finance meetings without needing to go out. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish.Upon arrival, our room was extremely hot—close to 100°F. While that might be appreciated in the middle of a Fort McMurray winter, it was far too much for a 23°C day. We were moved to another room, supposedly an executive suite, which was still uncomfortably warm. My wife was told maintenance would come by, but no one ever showed up, leaving her waiting for hours.To make matters worse, the restaurant and bar were closed, forcing us to walk into town for dinner. Back in the room, even the alarm clock was set to the wrong time. The next morning, there was no sign of the promised hot breakfast—or any breakfast at all. The juice machine was broken, and the “to-go” breakfast offered by reception consisted of a yogurt, muffin, apple, and an expired bacon and cheese biscuit, which my wife, being Muslim, couldn’t eat. The apples provided were also rotten. The only tea options were peppermint or green tea—no regular breakfast tea or Earl Grey available.Service was equally disappointing. Lila at the front desk was dismissive and rude, spending over an hour on the phone instead of addressing our concerns. Overall, the experience was frustrating and far below expectations. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere—Stonebridge Suites, for example

Underground heat parking very nice

The parkade needs to be cleaned, it is very muddy.

Clean facility, polite staff. Parking once checked in was great, finding a spot to pull in before getting access to the underground structure was a challenge.

Nice spot. New and clean. Comfortable room and bed. Breakfast was minimal but the coffee was strong.

Overall, this hotel gets the job done for a decent price. The beds are clean and comfortable and it puts a roof over your head for the night. Front desk staff were so kind and accommodating. This hotel is currently undergoing renovations, but nothing noisy during our stay so that was fine. Where this hotel fell short was the cleanliness of the rest. The carpets in our room had big stains and could have used a going over or been replaced all together. The light switches/appliance switches were grimey and the one garbage bin hadn’t been emptied. Furniture was dated and the material showed signs of wear. What really got us, was the fire alarm going off at 5:40 in the am and overhearing staff tell the fire crew that is was water tripping the censor “again”. I’m all for alarms when they’re necessary, but to hear that it was an on going thing was frustrating. Either the manager or owner walked in right by many of the customers outside without so much as an acknowledgment or hotel staff acknowledging the inconvenience.

Yes the room was very clean and all the staff was very helpful and big smiles. Great!!

We had a hard time finding the hotel as there is no signage outside. The room is big but not that clean, The carpet is dirty.

The room was nice but the carpet was pretty gross discusting it need to be took up, I rather see a painted floor then carpet full of stains and germs , would not take of my shoes. The shades in the windows are that dusty dont think they ever been clean the room didnt smell fresh . I open a window to air it out some, other then that it was ok but I would not go back in that room again.

Building is being renovated so construction dust everywhere. Parkade incredibly small. Booked a king executive suite only to be told they over booked. How do you do that when it is reserved online days before. Staff was rude about the issue. Sink and toilet had stains.

We found roaches in our room on the second floor. brought them to the front desk. moved rooms. found more roaches. brought more dead ones and videos of live ones. Was told they never had issues. videos of moving roaches in various sizes is an issue! We love staying at Prime and have had other issues but this is a bit much.

Overall pretty good - room had no blackout curtains so it made falling asleep and staying asleep a little challenging.

Room was average but our air conditioning was broken and made a loud noise and didn’t cool the room. However…staff were on it right away and tried to resolve quickly. We would recommend based on the excellent customer service.

It was a decent enough place but the AC didn't work and opening my window had the AC unit for the building blasting noise into my room.

The hotel room we rented was supposedly recently renovated.. the bed,carpets and shower were clean but just looking around the room it deffinately was a 2/10 experience.The pics on expedia are very decieving. The lamp in the room had holes in the shade. The walls in the bathroom were dirty.The ac wasn't working but we were not notified of this on check in.When we got to our room we discovered that there was a portable unit with a hose duct taped up in the window with white board used to close the gaps.The unit was very noisey and didn't work well.We had to ask for towels to accomodate the needs of 2 people.We shouldn't have to share bath towels... on booking and check in they confirm the occupants so why not have the room supplied with towels t.!o accomadate accordingly.This experence could have been much better.

This is a great hotel, rooms are beautiful, wood furniture, very clean and spacious.

Checked in very late after a flight. My first room had a very loud water drain above the bed that sounded like a water fall so I had to go down to change rooms. Second room was great despite the bedroom window lookin out to a hallway.

The staff at this hotel were extremely accommodating to our large sports teams. The rooms were big and the bed was very comfortable. We had a kitchenette and it was great to have. Two things I would say need improvement. The room was quite hot and because we were on the inside part, there was not a window to outside and therefore could not get fresh air. The window looked i to the hallway. The other part was that breakfast was a bagged lunch style. I believe they are just transitioning to a real typical hotel breakfast. They are undergoing renos and looks like they are almost finished. There is a Boston Pizza straight across the street. All and all it was a decent place to stay.

The room was very spacious and quiet.

Overall, the property is very nice. I had an issue with this visit (been about 6 the past two years) that in the bathroom there were multiple fixtures that were loose and falling. Seriously, give the cleaning staff a multi head screw driver and theyd all be fixed.

The rooms are very clean. The furniture is very new and clean. Beautiful view and underground parking is great

Location was good, quoted price was reasonable but they overcharged my credit card by A LOT (hundreds and hundreds extra) resulting in maxing out my card!! Apparently there was nothing they could do to immediately reverse charges, Putting me in a difficult financial position for the duration of my stay.

Not happy with check in, they did not allow to my colleague even after my approval. I had to reach hotels.com to change name. Staff very limited their rules they don’t think above and beyond to make easy.

The hotel staff was beyond accommodating and made my last minute stay absolutely amazing. Thank you!

Check in was fast and issue free

Checked in on Friday afternoon. Pub closed for Reno’s Rooms looked nice bed was comfortable, came home Saturday after working all day. Bed not made no clean towels Sunday same thing I call the front deck asked for management Total of 4 times asked and called for management. Left messages. No return calls Wouldn’t go back ever again

Parking was easy and secure. Good location. Great staff and clean room.

My finacee' and I stay here on our day off from work, this is the 3rd time after returning from breakfast around 6 am the key cards do not work, as we are in a little bit of a hurry to leave.. having to go to the front desk is annoying and frustrating. Although the front staff is very helpful, there must be away to prevent this from happening.

Would not recommend this hotel due to the area. Lots of sketchy people. Drug dealers on the block. Did not feel safe my truck outside full of tools. Hotel needs to move. Neighbour is ghetto

OK for a couple of nights. I did not like not having no exterior window. The hotel was quiet and had good access to a river walk. I feel the staff irritation about people not removing their muddy boots; the carpet was full of mud clumps! I had a bachelors suite which was well kitted out.

Great for what we needed it for. Quiet, hot breakfast, heated underground parking, walking distance to amenities and the community center. Air vents were pretty dusty and not quite secured to ceiling but they are doing renovations and rest of room was clean and updated. Worst part was trying to find it because all the exterior signs are taken down as part of renovation.

The hotel was easy to find, situated right down town. Renovations occurring at the hotel and in the area made it difficult to find a place to park.

Breakfast is cold and the same every day, and they give it to you in a paper bag as if we were school children; the coffee is water.

Breakfast better than most economy hotels. Safe indoor parking was great.

They have renovated the hotel. Large room,with a kitchen area. Seperate sink outside the washroom which is great. Full 3 piece bathroom. No face clothes in bathroom, only one at the sink. Lovey hot & cold breakfast. Make sure you bring your card down, you will need it to get into the breakfast room.
