Clayton Hotel Cork – A Mixed Experience Our stay at the Clayton Hotel in Cork was a mixed bag, with some positives but quite a few disappointments. Pros: • Room Upgrade: We originally booked a family deluxe room through Expedia, but as our booking showed a family suite, the hotel upgraded us at no extra cost. Restaurant service was terrible. Food nice but small portions for the price. Advertised as having a pool and leisure centre but you actually had to pay extra to use that. Price of added breakfast was extortionate for what you got. Reception staff very nice but overall for the price of the room we were very disappointed.

This hotel is desperately showing signs of age. Everything is worn or dirty. Elevators are out of order, huge stains on carpets, filthy floors and general dirt. Whoever owns this is either running out of money or a shameless business owner who has run it into the ground.

Stay was ok. Carpet was heavily stained in parts. I asked for a room with a view but i got a room at back of hotel with no view. I asked for a mini fridge for medical supplies and got it but it was filthy. We were afraid to put our snacks in it. Curtains are long and block the heat coming from radiator, room was cold. I had to roll up the curtains to let out the heat.

Moldy bathroom, broken bathroom door that wouldn’t close and a room had a bright light shining outside the window at all hours. 4th floor room had no A/C, which might have been fine if the windows could have been left open for a breeze, but the bright light left it so you had to choose between the light and the heat and humidity. Breakfast was expensive and not impressive. Only thing staff said to make it right was we could have our next stay free, but I would not stay here again.

The Expedia website shows laundry facilities so I chose the hotel. There was no laundry facility! I had to do my laundry standing in a gas station parking lot (that was the nearest laundry place). No air conditioning so our room was boiling hot and faced the rising sun so it baked all day. The windows hardly opened to let in cool air. We. Had to sleep with curtains and windows open just to have any air. It never cooled the room even with two fans provided. Also, we checked in at 6 and was told there was a tour coming and the restaurant will close to us at 8pm which meant we could not eat on site due to needing to go off site to do laundry. All around a horrible experience.

We stayed one night in a family suite. The room was lovely and spacious with an absolutely ginormous bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the extra seating area. A couple small items - we were there when it was quite hot, and although the room was equipped with an AC unit that blew air, it never actually cooled off. To be fair, I didn't figure this out until the middle of the night, so I didn't report it til checkout. If you're not from Ireland, fair warning that hotels don't seem to provide conditioner. However, overall a nice stay and an easy drive into city center as well as highway access.

The rooms were larger than anything we have seen in other parts of Ireland. They also were very clean, and modern. I thought the restaurant served excellent food. It was nice that we could get such a great meal, so conveniently. I also made an error with our booking, and Grace was so incredibly helpful. Despite the long line of people behind us, she remained calm, kind, and took care of our situation in the best way. I was so grateful, especially given it was my mistake. All service was top notch. Reasonable rate for this stay, and I would definitely recommend.

Easiest check in! They sent an email a couple days before and I was able to check in online and use a kiosk to get my room key. But there was still a person who jumped in and helped with the kiosk. It was so fast and efficient. The room was very clean and quiet.

We paided almost 300 to stay one night in this hotel and when we arrived the staff were friendly at the reception but as we tried to sit down for dinner the supervisor was horrible to the group we were with. We were left standing there for 20 minutes no one bothers to come up and apologise or inform us how long we’d be waiting. I understand if the place is understaffed or they were busy but the price we paid to be left waiting for almost 20 minutes and then to be met with rudeness was just added a sour taste to the stay

Stayed here for one night this weekend with our two children. Hotel was good, clean and easy to access. About 15€ for an Uber into the city. Staff were all polite and friendly, the hotel had a nice relaxed vibe and parking was good on site. Room was clean and tidy and well equipped. I did order the birthday bash package which to be honest was underwhelming at best. I wouldn’t order that again. Have to give a massive thank you to Grace on reception who was just brilliant, a great recommendation of a restaurant with our children and so good with our kids. Thank you!

Dear Clayton Hotel Team, I hope you are well. I am writing to share some brief feedback from our recent stay at Clayton Hotel Silver Springs, which I hope will be helpful for service improvement. We were not informed at check-in that the swimming pool required advance booking or that it closed at 6:00 pm. When we arrived at we were told it closed at 7:00 pm, resulting in us being unable to use the pool and having to return the following day on a day pass. The facilities were described as a five-minute walk, but it was not mentioned that the route involves a fairly steep uphill walk. On a positive note, the staff member in the gym explained everything clearly, which we appreciated. However, during our stay we also experienced delays in receiving toilet tissue when requested, bedding not being properly made on day two, and some disappointment with breakfast — while the selection was good, the hot breakfast quality was poor and the juices appeared heavily diluted. Hotel location is next to very noisey road , windows provide no insulation from noise. Parking is very tight. E-car charging not working. Elevation too small and only one so queing necessary. Stopped twice due to overloading. Three Staff in restrauraunt did not pay attention to guests. Bathroomin room had black mould on floor and between wall tiles. Sink blocked. Would never stay there again

A bit out of the way, but offered good parking, so if you have a car, its nicely located if you want to get into Cork and the price is more reasonable than other hotels in Cork. However, there is not much to do in the immediate area.

The hotel is in urgent need of a thorough renovation, with an old elevator and fitted carpets in the rooms and corridors that don't smell very pleasant. The location is right on the highway, far from the city center. The bathroom was cramped, with a rusty shower curtain rail, and it was difficult to adjust the hot and cold water in the shower. The daily room rate was €190 without breakfast. Cleaning of the room was inadequate, they did not even clean the toilet bin during our 3 night stay! Overprised and dated!

First off check in was at 3. We arrived at 1 and they had a room ready. Went to room and keycards wouldnt work. Back to reception to change them and the second lot didnt work at first either. But eventually got into our room. Room was fine and clean. After arriving back from our night out we ordered room service and paid €35 for the food not to come. Next morning went to reception and the girl was very apologetic and offered us a refund. Went for breakfast after this and it was horrendous. Buffet still so could help yourself. Food was cold and not nice at all. At this stage, we'd had enough and headed back to our room to get our bags and checkout. Safe to say we will not be staying here again.

Room was great, nice comfortable bed. Overall dated, bath needs replacing, looks unhygienic. Breakfast was the worst I have ever had. "Hot breakfast" was tepid at best. Plates were cold, bacon as hard as nails and cold, sausage and baked beans hardly warm, hash browns looked inedible (the underside had grey/black potato bits), mushrooms shrivelled and tepid, it would have been horrible to have a warm or cold egg so didnt bother. I went down at 8am, god knows what it would have been like by 10.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It’s a good distance from the city centre and you will need to get a taxi or the town bus in. I had good in the restaurant but it wasn’t good curry was bland and the breakfast was not good either. There is a good section but the Irish breakfast was not good.

Stayed for 3 nights. Staffs were friendly. Love our room. My only small complain is the television, you have to connect to the WiFi it should be automatic when u turn it on like others hotel do. But overall it’s a good short holiday for us.

The room was relatively small for a family room with 2 double beds. Overall a good stay, it was clean and staff were friendly. It is looking a bit tired in the corridors and room. I didn’t realise that the pool was off site and you had to pay extra to use the facility. This was a big negative as we booked the hotel for a pool

We only went for one night. As we were attending a funeral on August 24th . So we checked at bout 1900pm on 23rd of August. From the lady at check in to the lady at dinner in the restaurant they were very thoughtful to us about our situation. They gave us advice bout where we were going and the place of the funeral . All the staff including the young lady at breakfast were so pleasant and helpful and it makes a big difference especially when we were travelling with to autistic boys. So I'd recommend this clayton hotel. If i ever go back to cork it would be the first place I'd book
