The rooms are large and well appointed if you opt for the 2 bedroom suite. Pros of the resort: great location, nice views of the islands and ocean, friendly staff Cons: sub par breakfast buffet and food at the restaurant, garbage on the beach, broken video games and run down kids club

Staff where lacking some local and hotel knowledge . We where told no snack available on roof , then discovered on last night there was . Paid for sauna and water experience and sauna was cold !!

The views from Flamingo are absolutely gorgeous. It is sat right on the beachfront, with direct beach access and a lovely pool. However, I would not come to this resort expecting 5 star luxury, it’s a 3 star at best. The rooms were clean to an extent, but the walls had damp marks on them, and the bathroom was definitely not cleaned to a 5 star standard, it’s cleaned better in b&b’s back in the UK. The aircon can’t go below 24 in temperature, even if set to 18 on the thermostat. We ended up requesting a fan to help distribute the cooler air to where we were sleeping as it was way too hot in there. Again, at a 5 star hotel I would expect to control the temperature of the room to how I like it. The facilities are great, the spa was lovely and the reception staff were polite and helpful. However you cannot have that number of sun beds for a hotel of that size. Roughly 15 by the pool? Absolutely not. Even if you were lucky enough to get one, some Vietnamese’s families thought they could use them anyway even if your stuff was on them and you were having a quick swim. Overall, don’t bother coming here if you was a 5 star luxury experience. The hotel itself isn’t bad, if you paid less for the pleasure of staying there and set your expectations to staying at a 3 star.

The outdoor pool on the first floor at the second building is a quite dangerous with the level of steep steps instead of stairs. I fell a few times trying to find where the next step is. Also in the pool made out of the little stone is sharp, my knee got scraped on it and I was hurt and was bleeding.

We don’t usually go for high rise properties, but the views from our room on the 16th floor was amazing. Wonderful balcony. Comfortable beds. Good shower. We could hear people very loud in the hallway but fortunately we slept well as fellow guests were considerate. We did not have breakfast. Beach was wonderful . Plenty of complimentary beach towels. Not enough sun beds.

If you're looking for the resort experience, this was a great stay. Friendly staff, gorgeous views, very large property with lots of swimming options from beaches to pools. Breakfast had more than enough options for both myself and my husband, who is a pescatarian. During our stay there was still some new build construction going on around the property, so not all of the amenities were complete. This was not imposing nor audible from our room or the gathering areas outdoors. It was an easy walk or taxi to town with access to plenty of shops and food. Overall, we had a good experience.

Million dollar view and awesome pool/s. The room was nice but the bed was rockhard and two singles pushed together. We went for our wedding anniversary and they made a beautiful display of flowers on our bed with a lovely cake 💖 The place in general was super busy and loud. The dining was very confusing too, having to go between 3 hotels for breakfast. Unless you eat after 8pm, only big buffet available too. We ended up getting room service. The rooftop bar was nice with an amazing view. This place is Worth a stay but mainly for families as had great facilities for that, including an indoor pool, huge gaming room etc

Amazing resort with a lot of facilities! I loved the pool area with direct beach access, and to see the sunset from the sky bar. Breakfast was very good with a huge election. Dinner menu could have been better tho.

We went to Flamingo during off season. This was during end of February. The place was very impressive but only 2 of the 3 towers were in use. This meant that the infinite pool was not in use as well as some other aspects of the resort The hotel is in a quieter part of town but close enough that you can walk into town. If you don't want to walk, there are electric hospitality vehicles that will take you to town and pick you up for a small fee. Thanks to Hung and Charlotte at the reception for helping us with our stay and travel arrangements back to Hanoi.

This hotel has excellent facilities. I would recommend this IF and ONLY if you are traveling with children and need to keep them occupied. If ambience, food, relaxation, etc, are important, I would not recommend. Maybe because it was off season, food options were extremely limited. Usually only one restaurant was available to dine in and you had to purchase the special buffet. Room service options consisted of pizza and similar "western" options. The pastries were old and chewy. The spa is staffed by inexperienced therapists. I had intended on booking several services and stopped my first session early. The onsen is nice... however... i saw several individuals spitting into the water. This hotel seems to cater to a specific group of clientele who are loud and do not discipline their children. Multiple times, I was unable to rest soundly due to loud hallway conversations, children running through the corridor, and other noises well past midnight. The staff is friendly. The views are great. The beds are comfortable. However, I will not stay here again for a relaxing trip.

While there were certainly some positive aspects, there were also areas that could use improvement, such as the cleanliness of the beach and the soundproofing in the rooms. If you're looking for a hotel surrounded by greenery and don't mind some of the minor inconveniences, this could be a good choice. However, if you're looking for a more luxurious experience, you may want to look elsewhere.

I don’t know who is giving this property 5-star reviews, but they’ve obviously never stayed in a nice hotel. I was really excited considering the raving reviews and it was dirty, uncomfortable beds, gross pools, and kids everywhere. Never written a negative review, but wow do I hope you don’t have to stay here.

The resort is beautiful however upon arriving the room wasn’t very clean and then cleanliness around the hotel was quite poor. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great.

This hotel has a great view and is in a great location. It is a 4 star hotel. Not 5. There are 3 buildings. Youre not told which building youre in until you queue for check in at building 1. Then you get a golf cart to your building. The check in is chaotic. No queues. Just a free for all of everyone running to the nearest available space. The receptionist was sick. He couldnt speak loud enough and kept asking me to come closer but was visibly sick. I now have a sore throat 3 days later. As well as that the room was dirty. I had to ask the room service to come clean the room because it visibly wasn’t cleaned. Womens hair all over the floor. Foot prints in the bathroom. Shower is not designed with use in mind. The shower will get the whole room wet. No shower curtain or window. The positives are that the hotel has a great onsen and a great view. There are also a few restaurant options but mainly buffet type. The hotel would benefit from having a shop on site to buy snacks. The hotel has a lot of children. Its great for families. Lots for kids to do. But as a solo traveller, I was woken up at 8am every day from kids running and crying in the hallway. More of a family location than for solo travellers or couples.

I had to ask the room service to come clean the room because it visibly wasn’t cleaned. Womens hair all over the floor. Foot prints in the bathroom. Shower is not designed with use in mind. The shower will get the whole room wet. No shower curtain or window. The positives are that the hotel has a great onsen and a great view. There are also a few restaurant options but mainly buffet type. The hotel would benefit from having a shop on site to buy snacks. The hotel has a lot of children. Its great for families. Lots for kids to do. But as a solo traveller, I was woken up at 8am every day from kids running and crying in the hallway. More of a family location than for solo travellers or couples.

Room very clean, comfortable with a great view.Staff were great and went out of their way to make our anniversary special.Really great breakfast and although we had a minor room problem and had to be moved the management were extremely professional and looked after us well.

Quarto bastante espaçoso e muito limpo. A vista para o mar é simplesmente maravilhosa, um dos pontos altos da estadia. O quarto conta com banheira e sacada, o que deixa a experiência ainda mais confortável e relaxante. Excelente opção para descansar e aproveitar a paisagem.

Beach front location great, but it was a public beach. Very large resort suited to large groups, we stayed out of season but meal times were very busy. Our room was spacious with a lovely balcony. However the shower over the bath flooded the bathroom, very small toiletries were available & not replaced. The resort is vast with very little atmosphere with the sky bar being very soulless.

Love the resort, amazing place, just to many people, lost of people waiting for elevators and carts to take you to the 1st building if you wanted to get into town, which is a 10-15 min walk down and up a big hill. Everything else about the hotel was excellent. Our room was immaculate, received good service, and the breakfast buffett was amazing. Its just that this place was too big for me.

This hotel has a great view and is in a great location. It is a 4 star hotel. Not 5. There are 3 buildings. Youre not told which building youre in until you queue for check in at building 1. Then you get a golf cart to your building. The check in is chaotic. No queues. Just a free for all of everyone running to the nearest available space. The receptionist was sick. He couldnt speak loud enough and kept asking me to come closer but was visibly sick. I now have a sore throat 3 days later. As well as that the room was dirty. We don’t usually go for high rise properties, but the views from our room on the 16th floor was amazing. Wonderful balcony. Comfortable beds. Good shower. We could hear people very loud in the hallway but fortunately we slept well as fellow guests were considerate. We did not have breakfast. Beach was wonderful . Plenty of complimentary beach towels. Not enough sun beds.

Room was lovely but next time i would stay on the sunny side as there was no sun on the balcony with a mountain view. Fabulous breakfast. TV doesnt link to Netflix but had YouTube. Showers need rethinking as theyre above the bath in the celing and soak the room. Lovely that theu give you 100000 to spend at the resort for each day you stay.whe you shower

部屋は眺望がすばらしかった。難を言えば、シャワーの温度。風呂桶半分ほどのぬるい湯を出してはじめて適温になった。バスタブがおしゃれでシャワーカーテンが無いため、洗面台近くまで浸水してしまう。部屋の冷蔵庫は全く冷えず温度調節もできない。ベランダへの掃き出し窓のロックが見た目で解る程壊れていて鍵がかからない状態で安全上問題あり。フロントに連絡すると担当がやって来て「治しておく」と言われたので外出して帰ると直っていない。フロントに修復か部屋の変更かを申し入れ再度外出、帰ると「直りました」とのこと。部屋に戻ると状況は変わっていませんでした。部屋の金庫も電池切れで使用てきなかったがすぐ取り替えてくれたのはよかった。眺め、雰囲気、立地はどれも良いホテルなだけにちょっと残念。

The rooms are immaculate, the views are amazing and the pools/bars/restaurants are all great.Everywhere we went in Vietnam we were impressed with the warmth and hospitality of the people and the staff at the Flamingo really took it to the next level.I particular Thuy on reception provided lovely flowers for our anniversary and a cake, as well as organising our transport back to Hanoi.We couldnt have wished for a better place to celebrate our 35th.

If you don't stay at this Hotel/Resort in Cat Bay you are missing out. It was a magical stay, the rooms, service, food, everything with absolutely beautiful and pleasant we did not want to leave. Would definitely recommend staying here if your in cat ba. Very close to city Centre as well.

We really loved the hotel and especially Rachel at reception who was so helpful when booking a cruise and a city transfer. We would have found it very hard to book these without her.

This hotel is clearly geared more towards local guests as the way they treat their guess westerners would ever accept. There are three separate buildings connected by a skybridge, and check-in is only available at the buildng your assigned too. It would have been helpful if they clarified this in advance, so I recommend emailing ahead to confirm where to check in. Check-in is at 3 PM and checkout is at 11 AM. With so many people coming and going, the process is chaotic. It seems poorly managed—they could easily stagger check-in and checkout times to reduce congestion. We asked for a late checkout of just one hour (12 PM) and were told it would cost 30% of a full night’s stay, which felt unreasonable. When we did check out, it was a mess. The checkout area was like a fish market—crowded, loud, and disorganised. People were sitting on the floor and lining up as if it were a busy buffet. On the plus side, the hotel itself is nice. There’s a good pool and the beach is right at the doorstep. But the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. For example, we were travelling with an infant and needed extra bottled water to mix formula. Each room gets two complimentary bottles per day, but when we requested one more, they flatly refused. I was genuinely shocked—they denied a simple request over something that costs less than 10,000 VND (under $1). It left a poor impression and really impacted our overall experience.

Absolutely beautiful resort but very little English spoken. Restaurant service was exceptionally poor and food was of very basic quality. The scallops were overcooked to the point they couldn’t even be scraped off the shell and that was after a 1.25hour wait for our meals with only 10 people in the restaurant. The wait at the beach bar was at least 30min each time as the staff were more concerned with their phones and talking to each other rather than serving customers.

Quand je dis qu’il n’y a aucun service, c’est vraiment aucun. Une seule petite fiole de savon pour deux, une serviette pour deux… bref, la catastrophe. La chambre disposait de deux immenses penderies, mais seulement 4 cintres dans l’une et l’autre complètement vide, sans étagères pour poser nos affaires. L’ascenseur ? Comptez environ 3 minutes d’attente pour espérer en trouver un pas déjà bondé de voyageurs. Côté tranquillité, oubliez : si vous cherchez le silence, passez votre chemin. L’ambiance rappelle davantage une grande industrie du tourisme qu’un hôtel haut de gamme. On se croirait dans un centre commercial un week-end avant Noël, avec une foule constante et un bruit permanent. Même le service de navettes électriques est pensé pour maximiser les profits plutôt que le confort des clients : impossible de payer simplement un trajet aller-retour. Vous êtes obligés de payer à la demi-journée, ce qui rend le service inutile pour de petits déplacements. Le jour du départ, nous voulions simplement rejoindre le centre-ville pour prendre notre bus, mais ce n’était pas possible. Heureusement, nous avions loué un scooter pour la semaine, ce qui nous a sauvé. Honnêtement, j’ai rarement vu un tel désastre pour un établissement censé être de cette catégorie. This is a very large hotel with 3 large buildings that means large crowds of people, don’t be deceived by the pictures. If you are a westerner I’d say stay else where, find a small boutique hotel as you cannot relax here. The crowds of visitors barge past you, there’s puddles of water from people returning from the pool in the entrance and lift areas, the corridors are noisy. The check in area was so loud and absolute chaos at check in and check out times. It’s also located furthest away from the town. The staff are friendly and helpful but I’d say stay elsewhere. I went there thinking it would be a chill out wind down at the end of my holiday and it wasn’t.

After several days in rural Vietnam in wonderful home stays this was a great change. A fabulous location in a well maintained resort with stunning views from our 14th floor balcony of two private beaches. Buffet breakfast was great and the staff was wonderful. Cat Ba city beach front was completely under construction with the Party engaging in a massive building project filling land for a new project right in front of the present beach. It's really a mess there now and I wonder how property owners and locals feel about it. The Flamingo did not face these issues.

We had room 1602 in the middle building...it has to have the best view from a hotel suite on the planet. The hotel buildings are right on the beach and there is a nice (easy) walk around the cliffs to the town. The waterfront area of the town is currently (2025) a huge land reclaiming building site. We took a day cruise to Bright Cave and rented a motor scooter for a day to explore the island, all great fun. Our stay coincided with a national holiday so the place was really busy over the weekend and struggling to keep up with demand at breakfast and dinner. Otherwise, the place was pretty relaxed and overall the service excellent.

If you don't stay at this Hotel/Resort in Cat Bay you are missing out. It was a magical stay, the rooms, service, food, everything with absolutely beautiful and pleasant we did not want to leave. Would definitely recommend staying here if your in cat ba. Very close to city Centre as well.

The resort is amazing with breathtaking view.Our room is very nice with balcony facing the bay. Breakfast buffet is plenty and variety with different foods choices. We love the service here and staffs are very friendly and polite.The resort also has electric taxi to take you to into the town with small fee. We are really enjoyed our stay here, will definitely recommend to our friends and family if they travel to Việt nam

We went to Flamingo during off season. This was during end of February. The place was very impressive but only 2 of the 3 towers were in use. This meant that the infinite pool was not in use as well as some other aspects of the resort The hotel is in a quieter part of town but close enough that you can walk into town. If you don't want to walk, there are electric hospitality vehicles that will take you to town and pick you up for a small fee. Thanks to Hung and Charlotte at the reception for helping us with our stay and travel arrangements back to Hanoi.

We were really looking forward to staying here as the highlight at the end of our month-long trip in Vietnam, and sadly were disappointed. While the property and facilities were very beautiful, the onsite food and drink was very limited, the staff were ok but not friendly or that helpful (gave incorrect info a few times), and seemed more bureaucratically corporate with a fee for (what felt like) every little thing. It was a stark difference after the incredible service and hospitality we had received at all the other spots we stayed over the prior 3 weeks in Vietnam where we had paid considerably less for our stays. While the hotel could not help this, unfortunately the huge amount of garbage in the Bay meant the beach and swimming in the Sea were very disappointing. The staff appeared to occasionally try & clear away some of the garbage, but there was so much of it in the water & continually washing up on shore that we stuck to the pool.

Beautiful location with very nice beaches. The buffet breakfast was good and included with our room. However had lunch there and was overpriced for the area but expected for a resort. Staff seemed a bit disconnected with their jobs and communication was difficult compared to other places we stayed in Vietnam.

5-8 min walk to town. Lots of cleaning up /construction going on in tower 2, the grounds are beautiful. Buffett was just okay, way too many people.

The rooms are large and well appointed if you opt for the 2 bedroom suite. Pros of the resort: great location, nice views of the islands and ocean, friendly staff Cons: sub par breakfast buffet and food at the restaurant, garbage on the beach, broken video games and run down kids club

Great hotel, the rooms are a really good size and we’re always clean, the breakfast had a great selection, location was on the beach and about a 15min walk to the centre of the town. Sky bar could be better, the team weren’t the best and didn’t really add to the experience . The staff on reception and were really helpful.

If you're looking for the resort experience, this was a great stay. Friendly staff, gorgeous views, very large property with lots of swimming options from beaches to pools. Breakfast had more than enough options for both myself and my husband, who is a pescatarian. During our stay there was still some new build construction going on around the property, so not all of the amenities were complete. This was not imposing nor audible from our room or the gathering areas outdoors. It was an easy walk or taxi to town with access to plenty of shops and food. Overall, we had a good experience.

Amazing resort with a lot of facilities! I loved the pool area with direct beach access, and to see the sunset from the sky bar. Breakfast was very good with a huge election. Dinner menu could have been better tho.

리조트 컨디션은 매우 좋앗으나 단 하나 5성급 리조트라고 하기에는 조식뷔페 메뉴가 너무 형편이 없엇네여...내년에도 이용하고 싶지만 조식뷔페 메뉴가 개선이 안된다면 이용하는걸 다시 생각해 봐야 할것 같아여...플라밍고 리조트 캣 바 조식뷔페를 5성급 조식뷔페 메뉴로 개선해 주시기를 건의 드립니다..감사합니다...

Absolutely beautiful resort but very little English spoken. Restaurant service was exceptionally poor and food was of very basic quality. The scallops were overcooked to the point they couldn’t even be scraped off the shell and that was after a 1.25hour wait for our meals with only 10 people in the restaurant. The wait at the beach bar was at least 30min each time as the staff were more concerned with their phones and talking to each other rather than serving customers.

Gorgeous place for a view of Cat Ba and Lan Ha bay. Bit removed from Cat Ba Town if that is the experience you want. Lovely facilities, great food, helpful staff.

Overpriced and lacked a 5-star experience We stayed here for two days, and for a very expensive hotel, it really doesn't deserve its 5-star status in my opinion. At other hotels, we have always received a much warmer welcome, usually with a complimentary drink and plenty of local information about the surrounding area. Here at the Flamingo, it felt completely impersonal—they clearly don't value the customer experience and it felt more like a conveyor-belt system. The rooms themselves were clean and spacious, but there was no walk-in shower—just a bathtub with a shower head. To make matters worse, there was no shower curtain, so it was impossible to wash without completely soaking the bathroom floor, which made absolutely no sense. While the gym was decent, I think it is incredibly unfair and greedy that the spa and sauna aren't included in the steep price. On the positive side, breakfast was nice and offered a good selection. However, the atmosphere of the resort was terrible; it felt like a ghost town, very boring and completely devoid of any life. I certainly wouldn’t stay here again on a visit to Cat Ba.

Grand structure très bien intégrée dans le paysage avec la plus belle plage de l'île. Grande chambre confortable, très calme et avec une très belle vue. Le petit déjeuner buffet est très varié et assez qualitatif. Malgré un grand nombre de clients, il y a toujours très peu de monde à la plage et à la piscine (c'est d'ailleurs assez surprenant alors que l'hôtel a de nombreux clients) Toujours très facile d'avoir des transats. Le personnel est très serviable et je tiens particulièrement à remercier mesdemoiselles Thao et Cam Xuyên qui ont su intervenir alors que j'avais eu un problème dans la chambre. Donc, tout était parfait.
