Me encantaron las instalaciones, te sientes conectado con el campo y todo muy bonito y limpio. Tienen jacuzzi lo cual es muy conveniente al llegar en la noche y muy buen desayuno. Recomiendo mucho quedarse aquí.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel and we loved the 2 x thermal hot tubs kept at 2 different temperatures! Dinner was a little pricey so we make up for up at the breakfast buffet the next morning!

Super clean, modern hotel. There's a small outcropping you can take a short hike up nearby to see over the entire area. Restaurant was on the top floor, which allowed for nice views while eating. Included breakfast was great! The hotel is in an area with only some geothermal buildings and a school around it, so if you need anything, you're driving to it.

Wonderful hotel. Perfect location with plenty of parking. This is the perfect halfway point to Akureryi. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. There also is a restaurant upstairs with a nice view. This is also where breakfast is which had a nice variety throughout the buffet. Staff was friendly as well. Thanks!

The property was stunning and staff were friendly and accommodating. The facilities were great, with nice hiking options right behind the hotel. The hot tubs, sauna and cold plunge were clean and we were able to get drinks served right to us. The restaurant was so good and the service was outstanding. 10/10 would absolutely stay again

The cleanliness in the hotel was excellent. The breakfast quality was wonderful, and the servers there were extremely friendly and welcoming. We found the beds to be quite comfortable, and the hotel's on-site charging system was also very helpful to us.

Beautiful and modern hotel. Hot tubs are nice and not crowded. They have a lovely restaurant on the upper floor and the food is really delicious. We had dinner there and enjoyed it. Good spread of breakfast too. 1 major downside though, our quadroom only had one tiny weeny window and the room is really hot in summer. Like hot hot for Iceland, bearing in mind that there is no air-conditioning in Iceland. So after raising this, they gave us 2 small desk fans which honestly didn't really help much. I understand that buildings in Iceland are built to keep the cold out and would love to give this hotel 5 stars as I really love the look and feel but the room temperature is really a bugbear.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Varmaland. The property was beautiful. The room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was very small. The sink was so small that it was almost unusable. The shower did have a curtain; however, the shower itself was so little that the curtain kept rubbing up against you. We loved the breakfast and it was included with the stay.

I would have given it 5 out of 5 if it wasn’t for the ridiculously small bathroom sink, a cloakroom sink really…with nowhere to put your toiletries next to it…and the shower is equally a silly design; too small, shower curtain sticks to you and the water goes everywhere. BUT the staff are great, communal areas are great, the buffet breakfast is excellent and the breakfast dining room is a lovely space. Comfortable bed, had to ask for extra pillows…Icelandic hotels only seem to give one pillow each on the beds which is weird. It’s not as soundproofed as they make it out to be…we could hear people talking in the next room and people walking around in the room above…and doors opening and close. BUT (!) everyone went to sleep early because they’re all sightseeing in the nearby national park so luckily it wasn’t a big deal. Bring ear plugs just in case.

The interior design is nice, but the washroom is very small. The soundproofing is also lacking—we kept hearing doors shutting throughout the night, even at midnight and early in the morning. Breakfast is just okay, and overall, the hotel could use a lot of improvement.

On the positive, this hotel seems quite new and is very clean. Customer service was not as good. Additionally, while they had hot tubs, you have to pay to use a robe and towel for the hot tubs. If I had to do again, I might have just drove and stayed in Borgarnes. We picked this hotel because it was closer to the lava cave and glacier tours we were taking the following day.

Just wanted to say the staff here made our trip memorable. The breakfast was fantastic. Prior to arriving I let the staff know we would be arriving early due to a early flight and needed to freshen up due to me proposing. They made the accommodation. I asked while we were at dinner if they could do something special in the room and they did. The host at the restaurant was very suave with letting me know that everything in the room was ready. The restaurant was an absolute treasure and I will be eating there for sure on our next visit. The rooms were super clean and beds were very comfortable

Nice hotel off the beaten path so not a lot of outside dining options near by. Bathroom was pretty small. Biggest complaint was trying to get anyone to check you in or out. There never seemed to be anyone at the desk. Had a number you were suppose to call but it went to a voicemail.

The gentleman at the reception desk offered to knock on our door if the northern lights made an appearance. That way we didn’t need to stay awake into the night for no reason. He knocked - and we were not disappointed! Thank you!

After driving just over 4 hours from the Westfjords, we realized that we left behind a carry on. We approached the front desk and asked if he could help us reach the inn we were staying at. It turns out the police had our bag and he called the police and asked them to put the bag on Iceland air cargo and we could have it by the time we went to Reykjavik, the next day! He ended up being the assistant manager. Sure enough we got our bag when we arrived in Reykjavik. We were soooo thankful that we did not have to make the drive back to the Westfjords to pick up our bag! Service was fantastic, the food was excellent in the hotel with great views, and the hot spring bath was relaxing. Theodore at the restaurant also gave us excellent service! Stay where the locals stay! : ) Thank you Arnar for your outstanding service!

Great stay at Hotel Varmaland as we drove the Ring Road. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, easy parking and clean room. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast from their hotel restaurant. I recommend making dinner reservations if you have a preference of time.
Great stay at Hotel Varmaland as we drove the Ring Road. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, easy parking and clean room. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast from their hotel restaurant. I recommend making dinner reservations if you have a preference of time.

Great value for the price! The hotel has a nice building in the very quiet area, though it takes only 20 minutes to get to the nearest Bonus or gas station. They have 2 free Hot tubs, which are pleasant addition when the weather is cold.

Although isolated from the main highway 1, this is a hidden gem. From check-in to staff at the restaurant, everyone was so accommodating and helpful. This was also the place we were able to see the Northern lights. They have a 4th floor viewing balcony.

A bit isolated but nice. The hotel has a nice restauran and there are no real food options anywhere close, except at a gas station and at the Krauma hot baths. Note that the hotel operates it's own green house to grow vegetables and that this green house is brightly lit 24hrs a day.

Great Location for seeing the Northern Lights; which we did while we were there; Fantastic!! Daniel at the reception was terrific offering up suggestions for seeing them; and for other site seeing as well. Restaurant Calor on the top floor offers terrific views; and delicious dinners. Breakfast buffet was included. Free on site parking. Hotel does have elevator. TV in the room...this was only location where we received more than one channel. Rooms were comfortable---my only negative is a "double room" is actually 2 twin beds pushed together...that gap between the two gets wider with tossing and turning; so that woke me up a few times. We had two nights at this location. Would stay again.

Super clean, modern hotel. There's a small outcropping you can take a short hike up nearby to see over the entire area. Restaurant was on the top floor, which allowed for nice views while eating. Included breakfast was great! The hotel is in an area with only some geothermal buildings and a school around it, so if you need anything, you're driving to it.

Wonderful hotel. Perfect location with plenty of parking. This is the perfect halfway point to Akureryi. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. There also is a restaurant upstairs with a nice view. This is also where breakfast is which had a nice variety throughout the buffet. Staff was friendly as well. Thanks!

Chef Theodore in Restaurant Calor was amazing! The food was excellent and he shared interesting details about the food and his travels. We enjoyed Calor very much!

Loved that the property was hidden away from the main town but close enough to get to the town for food. Bedding was comfortable and clean. Breakfast area was beautiful but very limited breakfast options for those who don’t eat pork. The eggs were sweet and didn’t taste great. Every other options was a sweet option. Would be nice if they had some potatoes at least and changed their scrambled egg recipe. The boiled eggs were pretty much raw.

In general very nice stay. Restaurant was very pricy… we got a rip eye steak with a very strong seasoning and broccoli that had seen very hot pan for a little to long. Price was for 2x rip eye and 1 beer 16500 isk !!! If we come again we eat elsewhere

Beautiful area and grounds. Courteous and helpful staff. King room had an amazingly comfortable bed and pillows. Complaints are: even though it was "cold" for our August trip (low 50 F during day) and we had the window cracked open as much as possible; it was impossibly hot in the room at night. No ventilation or AC. Front desk was apologetic but could do nothing but supply a small fan (which then kept us up all night with the noise). Fancy restaurant was.... meh, okay considering the very expensive prices. Kind of disappointed in the experience despite the beautiful place.

Lovely hotel - one of the best we have stayed in in Iceland. Really helpful and friendly staff. Nice touches like help yourself coffee in the downstairs lounge. Sinks in the rooms are too small but that is the only negative we had. Highlight, however, is the restaurant! The views are good but the food is fantastic - easily the best we had in Iceland! There is a very talented chef at work here and you can see the care taken in the quality of the end product. Complemented nicely by the excellent serving staff, this is a place to remember for all the right reasons! Thank you.
