Hotel Continental

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. We stayed for 4 nights from October 1–5. As soon as we saw the room, we contacted Hotels.com and asked to cancel the remaining 3 nights, without requesting a refund for the first night. The hotel refused, so we had no choice but to stay. The problem is not that the hotel is old, but the serious lack of maintenance and hygiene. The rooms were dirty: stained walls, black sink drains, broken faucet fittings and toilet parts, damaged curtain rails, and dirty curtains. Under the beds there were coffee stains and other unidentified marks. During our entire 4-day stay, the rubbish was never removed, towels and sheets were never changed, and even toilet paper was not replaced. Heating was inadequate, the AC did not work, and we had to ask for a second electric heater. The elevators shook noticeably, while the stairs were filthy and full of rubbish. Breakfast was very limited, but hygiene was the real issue: dirty plates, cutlery, tables and tablecloths. We did not eat breakfast there even once. The receptionist tried to help and changed our room, but the problem was the hotel overall. Basic cleanliness and maintenance expected from a four-star hotel were simply not there. I would never stay here again or recommend it. Calling this a “four-star hotel” is unbelievable. Filth, neglect and poor maintenance are everywhere. It feels more like an abandoned building than a hotel. One of my worst stays ever.
