Our wonderful experience of staying at the Mauna Lani Resort in the big island of Hawaii for 10 days filled with great times: Pure elegance, comfort, deilightful atmosphere, demostrated integrity in quality (all foods, services, and decors), honesty, and accountability of all that the staff and management do, are the foundations upon which we felt the Mauna Lani is built! Our family imagined to have a perfect vacation in Hawaii to celebrate our ten-year anniversary and the premises of Mauna Lani Resort made that imagination a reality. I would admire the staff of the resort for obsessing over their guest experience and make sure they exceeded our expectations, as well as the management for listening and acknowledging minor feedbacks we provided them during our stay and subsequently making meaningful actions to make our stay as excellent as possible. All the foods at the resort restaurants were truly delicious and appeared to be all made with organic and healthy ingredients. One of the best parts also were the complimentary kids club and kids meals! The spa, pools, and beaches were super clean and awesome. Highly recommending to choose Mauna Lani Resort as your next destination and look no further 🙂

Excellent dining options at the Auberge at the Canoe House and the Halani. Well situated to walk to the nearby protected cove for snorkeling passing ancient Hawaiian fish ponds along the way. Heading in the opposite direction is the beach trail to the Fairmont Orchid which also has a nice sheltered cove for snorkeling and an excellent restaurant (Browns) for a special dining experience. At the Auberge we got to see a turtle swimming in the water near the beach. We also loved the morning complementary yoga classes and it was a nice surprise that there was also an adult only pool. Mahalo to the staff who were everyone of them very friendly.

Our stay at Mauna lani was just perfect. Beautiful, clean, comfortable room, pool and shared areas. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Valet is very efficient and go above and beyond to make your day trips better. Mel provided us with an umbrella and mat in one of our outings to a hike/beach without us even asking for it. The pool is great, the water was temperate, so not cold or warm just the right temperature for comfort but still refreshing. The beach at the hotel is extremely beautiful, it’s a little rocky so you probably want to wear water shoes when not swimming or snorkeling but right off the beach to the left there is the most amazing coral with a lot of colorful fish and even turtles! We went snorkeling a few times during our stay and we saw amazing fish and at least one turtle every time. The Island of Hawai’i calls for adventure with some difficult/long hikes and drives so coming back to the most beautiful, comfortable and accommodating hotel is what you need to make your vacation perfect. If we are lucky enough to come back to the Island of Hawai’i we will definitely choose Mauna lani again!

We have been coming to the Mauna Lani for 25 years and it has always been fabulous! We love the remodel, dining options and how friendly everyone is! You can walk or hop on a bike to go to the Mauna Lani market...which is a great market! We also love the Deli/market on the property...it has great options for breakfast, lunch and snacks!

Beautiful resort - peaceful beach, quiet rooms, multiple options for relaxing in the sun and/or shade and accessing water for a cool dip. The Canoe restaurant is absurdly overpriced. A glass of cab wine for $38 and standard cocktails at $27? We easily hit $450 after tip for two people. Good luck finding an ice machine - one per floor and hidden away in a staff only closet. The beach scene is wonderful - as was the beach waitstaff. The early morning water excursions were great. Skip the Luau - it felt like a large format wedding tucked back behind the hotel away from the water/no view of the sunset. However, if you really want the luau experience, pay up for the VIP tickets for superior seating and open bar.

Resort is breathtaking - wide open spaces, interesting architecture and design, stunning pool areas and beach, child friendly - but be prepared for high end dining options and minimal grab and go type stuff. The shops at Mauna Lani are largely deserted since covid but there is a coffee shop, juice/smoothie bar and grocery store for quicker food options. Parking is $40 per day and resort fee is $50 per day so be prepared for these additional costs.

It’s a large resort but everything feels small. Very pretty property & food on the premises is super! Gym was more than adequate and having a beach on the premises was a big plus in Hawaii. We would go back!

Words cannot express how amazing this resort is!!! Our experience staying at the Mauna Lani was beyond excellent! The resort is absolutely gorgeous, nestled on Big Island's west side surrounded by superb views of the coast, volcanos and nearby lava rock fields. The grounds are absolutely stunning, the facilities are top notch with lots of attention to detail and the property has a nice white sand beach in a bay where lots of wildlife seem to congregate (we saw 5 sea turtles in the water one morning!). The views of the sunset here are amazing and can be seen either from the beach, walking along the walkway riding along the coast or from the beautiful pools on property. The resort is pretty remote from a lot of places, and we needed 2 1/2 hours to drive down to Volcanoes National park but being so isolated and disconnected was the best! Our room was an oceanfront room with a beautiful view looking west (sunsets here were amazing to see to!). We found the room very luxurious, roomy and clean. The fine dining restaurant Canoe House was excellent in terms of the taste & quality of the food and the service, plus the resort has a bar near the pools and a little market for buying lots of snacks and drinks. We recommend this hotel to anyone staying on Big Island!!!

I’m almost afraid to review this place because it was so nice and I don’t want others to know about it. The place was beautiful. The room was clean and well-equipped ed. They have self-serve laundry on site with four washing machines and dryers. The staff was wonderful. Only downside is all the food options close early (around 9) so be prepared for that. there is a grocery store down the street though so you can stock up there. The beach was nice. It was wonderful Would definitely stay again.

Valet was unprofessional and disingenuous (for example, they led us to believe that valet parking was included in the hotel rate, and it was not). Front desk lacked basic hospitality decorum. At one point we were handed wrist room key fobs stained with sunblock. Our first room was not clean. There were smears on the furniture, and one of the sinks contained particulate matter which we were later told was likely the result of plumbing issues (backflow of material between rooms). The director of rooms honored our request to cancel our upcoming room reservation and we appreciate her consideration considering our experience with the Mauna Lani, Auberge resort. Unfortunately this was neither the quality or service I anticipated for a resort with a $1000/night price point.

Overall serenity was outstanding. Most tranquil place we have ever been to. Truly Beautiful! The only thing that was not perfect were the balcony areas, they were somewhat laden with bird droppings.

The hotel is beautiful and clean. The beach is not very comfortable, and so the pools are over utilized; the pools are far from the beach, especially the “adult” pool which has a very limited view. The concierge was not helpful but the spa and shop staff were all excellent.

Words cannot express how amazing this resort is!!! Our experience staying at the Mauna Lani was beyond excellent! The resort is absolutely gorgeous, nestled on Big Island's west side surrounded by superb views of the coast, volcanos and nearby lava rock fields. The grounds are absolutely stunning, the facilities are top notch with lots of attention to detail and the property has a nice white sand beach in a bay where lots of wildlife seem to congregate (we saw 5 sea turtles in the water one morning!). The views of the sunset here are amazing and can be seen either from the beach, walking along the walkway riding along the coast or from the beautiful pools on property. The resort is pretty remote from a lot of places, and we needed 2 1/2 hours to drive down to Volcanoes National park but being so isolated and disconnected was the best! Our room was an oceanfront room with a beautiful view looking west (sunsets here were amazing to see to!). We found the room very luxurious, roomy and clean. The fine dining restaurant Canoe House was excellent in terms of the taste & quality of the food and the service, plus the resort has a bar near the pools and a little market for buying lots of snacks and drinks. We recommend this hotel to anyone staying on Big Island!!!

we loved our stay at this resort with our ocean front room. building is well kept and the bar is a great hang out next to the pool. one issue we noticed was the morning buffet that was being over run with little brown sparrows eating from the serving utensils and the flies on everything edible. the staff need to keep an eye on this and to follow up on closing covers and replacing anything that can be contaminated. other than that, we loved it here and will be back

We absolutely loved our stay at Mauna Lani! We came to Hawaii to celebrate baby moon and the hotel made sure I was comfortable by providing a pregnancy pillow & gifted a cute gift box for baby and I. The resort is absolutely breathtaking, especially the main inside interior and garden area. Staff was very friendly, everything looked new and well maintained. We loved coming back to our clean room and to the hotel overall. Everything was as I liked, the aesthetics, the cleanliness, nature, the beach area, etc. Super sad to leave but will definitely come back!!!

Room with 2 Queens was huge, but had 1 odd shaped couch and no other chairs in the room, and only 2 coffee cups. Balcony had more seating than the room.

The most beautiful resort we have ever stayed in. Amenities on amenities and incredibly kind staff.They upgraded our room which was so generous and the view was to die for. So peaceful! We loved our time here as we were attending a wedding on the property. Do be warned the dining options are very expensive and there aren’t many affordable options near the property.

The property was beautiful and very quiet and peaceful. Had dinner at the CanoeHouse and it was wonderful (slightly pricey -but what isn't in this part of tne Island?). Room was very elegant and comfortable--my only minor complaint is that you can't turn off tne lights (even the bedside lamps) once you're in bed. You have to get up and hit the switch on the wall which turns all lights off/on!

I really enjoyed it. I do wonder if I was given the ocean view room that I paid for. It seemed the options were “ocean view” and partial ocean view (I was given the latter though I think I reserved the former.) U f had been staying longer, I might have complained, but the room was gorgeous, the concierge (Lenny) was fantastic and the overall vibe was A . I enjoyed the Canoe House and the other restaurant for breakfast. The service was terrific

Absolutely lovely property. Room was spacious and comfortable. There were a lot of people staying there but it never felt crowded. Staff were extremely helpful and we were able to shower before our flight despite checking out much earlier in the day.

Love everything about the hotel . But they open really late at the beach club at 11 . And I payed for ocean view and received pool view. Over 1000$ a night 6-7 months prior to getting there . that’s not ok !!! So plz be careful with that …. other than that amazing customer service .

The hotel is beautifully designed throughout. The three pools plus the beach club a short walk away provide plenty of sun and swim opportunities. The room systems are very high tech to a fault. Even the hair dryer was complicated. The bed and bedding are very comfortable. Our cooling system was not working and since we didn’t want workmen there for four hours, there was no option but to suffer through. Some other option or compensation would have seemed appropriate at this level. All in all, a lovely stay in many ways but some glitches.

When checking in I was offered an upgrade to the room. Agent was not clear on cost. She said she could offer it at 50% discount and showed us a price not saying it was per night or with all other fee's that go along with it. I thought the price was the total amount for the stay. I was extremely shocked at check out and disappointed. The same agent basically said you signed for it and don't let the door hit you on the way out. We have enjoyed your resort, resorts for many years. This is the last time we will ever come to Mauna Lani. I can't believe I'm even taking the time to write this, that's how disappointed we are. J. Valet was unprofessional and disingenuous (for example, they led us to believe that valet parking was included in the hotel rate, and it was not). Front desk lacked basic hospitality decorum. At one point we were handed wrist room key fobs stained with sunblock. Our first room was not clean. There were smears on the furniture, and one of the sinks contained particulate matter which we were later told was likely the result of plumbing issues (backflow of material between rooms). The director of rooms honored our request to cancel our upcoming room reservation and we appreciate her consideration considering our experience with the Mauna Lani, Auberge resort. Unfortunately this was neither the quality or service I anticipated for a resort with a $1000/night price point.

The property is beautiful! The only complaint is the lack of staff/service. For 5 star hotel pricing there is a lack of 5 star hotel service. The public bathrooms around the hotel were dirty. The pool service was fairly non-existent, for example, we were often getting our own towels and setting up our own lounges. Trying to order drinks / lunch very challenging. The staff that is there is lovely though!

Our stay at Mauna lani was just perfect. Beautiful, clean, comfortable room, pool and shared areas. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Valet is very efficient and go above and beyond to make your day trips better. Mel provided us with an umbrella and mat in one of our outings to a hike/beach without us even asking for it. The pool is great, the water was temperate, so not cold or warm just the right temperature for comfort but still refreshing. The beach at the hotel is extremely beautiful, it’s a little rocky so you probably want to wear water shoes when not swimming or snorkeling but right off the beach to the left there is the most amazing coral with a lot of colorful fish and even turtles! We went snorkeling a few times during our stay and we saw amazing fish and at least one turtle every time. The Island of Hawai’i calls for adventure with some difficult/long hikes and drives so coming back to the most beautiful, comfortable and accommodating hotel is what you need to make your vacation perfect. If we are lucky enough to come back to the Island of Hawai’i we will definitely choose Mauna lani again!

I preferred the Mauna Lani before Auberge. It’s not the same relaxed low key vibe at all. Very over priced. Shortage of staff. Slow service at all restaurants. Too many kids for an upper end luxury hotel. Lack of personalized service. Felt disconnected from hotel.

Splendida posizione fronte oceano con una baia protetta ideale per lo snorkeling e per ammirare il tramonto. La struttura si trova in una posizione un po' isolata, con poco oltre una piccola piazza nelle vicinanze raggiungibile a piedi o in bicicletta, quindi molti ospiti consigliano di noleggiare un'auto.

Stylish hotel on a lovely beach which was great for snorkeling and swimming. There's not much within walking distance of the resort though, so a car is a must unless you are happy to stay/eat on site...which is fine if budget allows, but food, drinks and payable facilities were eye-wateringly pricey.

The relaxed feel and the natural beauty of this resort make it an outstanding place to stay. We love the beach and the free bikes that we could ride to shops and restaurants. The design of the inside area of the hotel was spectacular. It created an oasis where you couldn’t help but relax as soon as you arrived!

Excellent dining options at the Auberge at the Canoe House and the Halani. Well situated to walk to the nearby protected cove for snorkeling passing ancient Hawaiian fish ponds along the way. Heading in the opposite direction is the beach trail to the Fairmont Orchid which also has a nice sheltered cove for snorkeling and an excellent restaurant (Browns) for a special dining experience. At the Auberge we got to see a turtle swimming in the water near the beach. We also loved the morning complementary yoga classes and it was a nice surprise that there was also an adult only pool. Mahalo to the staff who were everyone of them very friendly.

Great stay. My kids loved the pool and beach. I had only been to Maui prior to this trip and be aware of much more rural if you leave the resort. Great stay all around.

Our room was an oceanfront room with a beautiful view looking west (sunsets here were amazing to see to!). We found the room very luxurious, roomy and clean. The fine dining restaurant Canoe House was excellent in terms of the taste & quality of the food and the service, plus the resort has a bar near the pools and a little market for buying lots of snacks and drinks. We recommend this hotel to anyone staying on Big Island!!!

Very beautiful property! The landscaping is gorgeous. The architecture is stunning and the ambience is serene. A few steps to the beach from the pool. Lovely comfortable loungers and umbrellas at the beach and the at the pool. Never too busy. Just the right amount of guests. Comfortable updated rooms and five star service. The dining options from the canoe house to halali to the convenience store had really delicious food. Best food we had on the island. Couldn’t say more. Our 8 year old had a wonderful time. Can’t wait to come back soon.

Stylish hotel on a lovely beach which was great for snorkeling and swimming. There's not much within walking distance of the resort though, so a car is a must unless you are happy to stay/eat on site...which is fine if budget allows, but food, drinks and payable facilities were eye-wateringly pricey.

I’m almost afraid to review this place because it was so nice and I don’t want others to know about it. The place was beautiful. The room was clean and well-equipped ed. They have self-serve laundry on site with four washing machines and dryers. The staff was wonderful. Only downside is all the food options close early (around 9) so be prepared for that. there is a grocery store down the street though so you can stock up there. The beach was nice. It was wonderful Would definitely stay again.

Excellent dining options at the Auberge at the Canoe House and the Halani. Well situated to walk to the nearby protected cove for snorkeling passing ancient Hawaiian fish ponds along the way. Heading in the opposite direction is the beach trail to the Fairmont Orchid which also has a nice sheltered cove for snorkeling and an excellent restaurant (Browns) for a special dining experience. At the Auberge we got to see a turtle swimming in the water near the beach. We also loved the morning complementary yoga classes and it was a nice surprise that there was also an adult only pool. Mahalo to the staff who were everyone of them very friendly.

Beautiful resort - peaceful beach, quiet rooms, multiple options for relaxing in the sun and/or shade and accessing water for a cool dip. The Canoe restaurant is absurdly overpriced. A glass of cab wine for $38 and standard cocktails at $27? We easily hit $450 after tip for two people. Good luck finding an ice machine - one per floor and hidden away in a staff only closet. The beach scene is wonderful - as was the beach waitstaff. The early morning water excursions were great. Skip the Luau - it felt like a large format wedding tucked back behind the hotel away from the water/no view of the sunset. However, if you really want the luau experience, pay up for the VIP tickets for superior seating and open bar.

For an expensive property that is supposed to be highly rated, it didn’t meet the standards at all. Service was poor at multiple occasions. At the Canoe House Restaurant, it took us waiting 15 minutes to place our drinks order. At the breakfast restaurant 10 minutes to get our water, and they got our order wrong twice. Limited dining options for vegetarians and there was no 24 hour room service. Even service for bellman was poor and we had to take our bags to our taxi ourselves and no one to help load our luggage on to our taxi as well. Overall very disappointing experience for the price and name of the brand.

we loved our stay at this resort with our ocean front room. building is well kept and the bar is a great hang out next to the pool. one issue we noticed was the morning buffet that was being over run with little brown sparrows eating from the serving utensils and the flies on everything edible. the staff need to keep an eye on this and to follow up on closing covers and replacing anything that can be contaminated. other than that, we loved it here and will be back

It was an amazing stay, the beach, the restaurants and the amenities they were all beyond expectations. The only downside is the high fee for the shaded beach beds which I was not expecting an additional charge especially after paying such a high room rate.

Food options terrible. Two restaurants both average and very expensive. Low quality food. Was very surprised. We are at four seasons and lava beach club off property that were outstanding. Halekani breakfast was decent. Avoid everything else.

Super Nice hotel but staff at the pool bar were not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Their Taxi service was not good either, but a part from that everything else was top class
