The River's Edge Motel Lodge & Resort

Only hotel on the river. Nice outdoor area with tables, benches, fire pit, hot tub-very relaxing to spend time out there. Views of mountains are amazing. Walking distance to hot springs, restaurants, market plenty of parking, managers (Charlie & Roxanne) were sweet & super helpful! We even saw bears several nights which added to our experience! only thing is the queen bed room is kinda small. We made it work, only in the room to sleep & Shower. It has a mini fridge & microwave. To go breakfast bags were a plus (included water, yogurt, muffin, granola bar, mandarin). I had only booked for 2 nights but loved it so much I made it our base camp for our 6 day trip!

This was a last minute booking...The location is excellent and is a great size property. It is right next to the river and has nice open space to sit and enjoy the river. Also has a nice area to eat around a fire pit. Since most of our trip was camping, we brought out our coleman stove and cooked our meal by the river and enjoyed the firepit. Also a nice jacuzzi....

Spent 3 nights and had a great time. Loved the hot tubs and the close proximity to shopping and eating. Very convenient as it is in the middle of town. Would stay again.

One of the few that has a courtyard with hot tubs and fire pit

Beautiful landscaping and right on the river. Hot tubs were wonderful with no closing time. Being on motorcycles we are always wary of gravel lots, but theirs was week maintained and we had no issues.

We stay here several times per year. We love it! Nice to have the dog park so close. Beautiful views of the river! It is so nice to soak in the hot tub after going out to dinner.

The grounds of the lodge are beautiful. The hot tubs are nice and relaxing. I love that it’s right next to the river, hence River’s Edge lodge. The beds are very comfortable, and the showers are hot even after the fifth shower of the night. Our room was spacious, but there was an outlet cover that was missing which would be very dangerous for small children. There is a dog park down the river a bit, which was perfect for our dog. The motel offers a grab and go breakfast of a muffin, granola bar, yogurt, hard boiled egg, cutie, and water. Overall, it’s a great place to stay in a wonderful town surrounded by mountains.

Would have liked an elevator as we are an older couple

It was nice for an older property. Everything was clean except the lightswitch and one of the chairs was stained. Laura at the front desk was very nice.

I really wanted to love this place. The outside grounds next to the river are beautiful. Unfortunately, the level of cleanliness is not on par with what we expect and experienced. My granddaughter took of her socks and her feet were black after running around in the floors inside. I thought maybe she ran outside so I washed them. But it happened again and she did not go outside. There were spiders and cobwebs in corners. I had to lomo e nightstand to plug in charger and there were dust balls and animal fur on the floor behind it that looked like it had been there awhile. The cable didn’t work and our WiFi wasn’t connecting either. I let them know but didn’t hear back. The space was roomy enough. We paid $275 for one night and that condition is not what we expected.

The beds are very comfortable and seem to be newer. But the rest of the room is out dated. My biggest turn off was that the room smelt like someone had smoked in there. The staff was very friendly and you are two blocks from the main drag.

Worse experience in long time. Run by one person, who is nice enough, but put us under room with a couple with a dog. He said all dogs were on the first level. That couple took the dog out and up loud metal stairs 5 times during the night! Our unit smelled terrible with cleaning solution and there was no door on closet, hand rail in tub, dirty shower liner, no water in morning as he forgot he had guests and told workmen to shut it off The air conditioner was so loud and kicked on and off all night!. We had zero sleep! Breakfast was grab a go and only had walmart yogurt, breakfast bar, old tiny orange, tiny muffin snd water. All this for $320, a total ripoff! Never again!

We have stayed here many times and usually love it! This time my only complaint is the hot tubs were dirty and smelled horrible. I couldn’t use it. Other than that everything was great. They have the most comfortable beds. Also, I love how pet friendly they are and great location.

This was a cute place located right on the river. They had hot tubes and a campfire going next to the river. The staff was friendly. We got two rooms, one with queen studio was super small but the one with two queens actually had a small dining table a full kitchen and a pull-out couch. The overall experience of Ouray and the hotel was awesome.

Beautiful location: mountains all around and a rushing stream right outside the room for our waking pleasure and sleep. The room was in need of a little TLC, a little worn, a little dated, but otherwise quite comfortable.

This hotel was good but not great, and felt over priced at $200 night compared to other similar properties. Room was small, clean and comfortable, and staff was friendly. We were on first floor adjacent to stairs so there was a lot of noise as people went up and down the stairs to their rooms. Breakfast was bagged continental style including yogurt, granola bar, piece of fruit, and hard boiled egg. The highlight was the setting which was beautiful along the river with surrounding mountain vistas.

Great property to stay in Ouray. The family suite was large with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and a sofa. The room could use a refresh but otherwise very clean, quiet and comfortable. Main street is only two blocks away with many restaurant options.

This is a cute, little gem of a hotel. It is a bit dated, but very clean, comfortable bed(soft, but I like it like that). It is right next to a bubbling river in a great location. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops. I would recommend this hotel.

Outside is beautiful. Inside could use updates.

Average stay. The hotel was within walking distance to everything downtown. Hot tubs were nice and the grounds were relaxing. The room was clean and comfortable, but a bit too small. There are no elevators so we had to carry our luggage up to the second floor and our door was right by the stairs, which was loud. Breakfast is just a to-go- bag, with little in it. Not a bad stay for one night to be close to town

The room was small and needs to be updated. Very small bathroom. Fridge was unlevel and rocked when you opened door.

Nice grounds with two chlorinated hot tubs, a patio with tables and chairs and river running by. Looks like the room was remodeled recently with new flooring. Nice queen beds and couch. Nice kitchen table with 4 chairs. Interior lighting was poor. Squirt bottles of liquid attached to the wall in shower not labeled. Shampoo? Body wash? Conditioner? I used my own. No instructions for TV. Could not move TV enough to see buttons on side to change input and no button on remote to change input. Did not watch TV. Breakfast NOT as depicted on website. Grab and go bag contained a granola bar and bottle of water. Was offered a hard boiled egg and carton of yogurt additionally. Nice place.

Extremely small room with no place to put clothes, suitcases, etc. Breakfast was a breakfast bar and a muffin. It was a very poor deal for over $250 per night!

Place is nice, quiet, clean. The so called "breakfast to-go" is honestly offensive. Housekeeping standing in front of your door 9.45, listening to music and pressing you to leave so they can clean, altough check out is at 11:00. Not to mention i found the door open( with my stuff still there)when i came back from breakfast. Anyway...pretty nice

Family owned and operated, with fantastic customer service and friendly helpful staff. Pick up & Go Breakfast bags are an unexpected bonus and filling. We'll be back!

First the positives: Room was clean and the bed comfortable. A to-go breakfast and coffee was included in our stay. Parking was close and restaurants and shopping were very walkable. There are 2 hot tubs in a beautiful outdoor shaded area, overlooking either the river or the mountain. The relaxing outdoor space also included patio type tables and chairs. Now the negatives: We booked a King Deluxe, confirmed on Expedia several months ahead. We were told on arrival that no King rooms were available and that Expedia had incorrectly assigned us that room. We were given a Queen Studio (substantially smaller room and bed with no sitting areas) for only $20 less. All other hotels were booked and we were forced to take the room given. Another guest checking in at the same time had the exact issue (booked a K, given a Q), reservation booked on Hotels.com. We were never issued a receipt (either digital or hardcopy), after repeated inquiries. I finally asked the desk rep to screen shot the receipt and email me (which he hesitantly did), since I did not want to pay for the reserved room I did not get. This property is nice enough for the area, but there are only a small number of each type of room, and the scheduling system obviously does not work. You are taking a chance when reserving that you will actually get the room you reserve. The beautiful serenity of the outdoor areas balanced out not getting the room we were expecting and the basic billing deficiencies.

Ouray my favorite destination, very close to all the dining and shopping options. Not anybody at the front desk if you are checking in late or leaving early so plan for that.

Great location easy walk to most places, john the owner meet us when we checked in, gave us some good pointers about the area, and again when we checked out. Everything was clean inside and out. When we go back we will definitely try to stay again!!

Comfortable bed, clean room, beautiful garden terrace by the river. Some wear and tear, but a peaceful and pleasant place to stay.

This is a few blocks off the main drag: quiet and still close enough to walk down to the main strip going through town. Clean and in good condition. The staff is very friendly and everything went smoothly. Stayed one night in early September and had no issues. Beautiful area.

About a block from Ourays Main Street, super convenient. Nice setting next to creek. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. A gentle suggestion, the bed sheets (fitted sheet) were 'pilling', maybe invest in some new sheets. Other than that the bed was super comfy.

Great hotel in a fantastic location, only one block away from all of the shops and restaurants in Ouray.

Staff was pleasant. Free breakfast was bag options at the desk - told the change was related to fridge going out.

Our stay at this property was amazing. The owner and staff that worked at this facility were phenomenal. They provided grab and go breakfasts which provided a good source of protein. The views, hot tubs, and sounds of the river was extremely relaxing. I will definitely return to this facility.

Not a breakfast

It's a older motel, they still use "Covid" as an excuse to make you ask for housekeeping or you can put your towels and trash outside. The so called breakfast is a paper bag you grab at the office with a water, a snack bar, a very small muffin and if you want a hard boiled egg or yogurt you ask for them. The price is in-line with other's in the area but the fees and taxes are not included until arrive. Made a difference in the overall price. It does have a nice outdoor setting area by the river and plenty of flowers everywhere. All and all I think it's over priced for what you get.
