One of major reasons cancelled reservation at other local hotel was because of internal restaurant at the Carrollton Inn.... Restaurant was closed and assumed has been closed for some time... therefore the amount paid for room vs other hotels in Carroll we have stayed at, not sure was as of the value that I was expecting.

The pool and the hot tub were out or service and they chose to not tell me until after I paid and refused a refund … I was there with my daughter and her teammates for a tournament and we chose that hotel specifically for the pool definetly was disappointed

The beds were comfortable. The room was adequate for what we needed for one night. The restaurant on the premises was convenient, excellent Mexican food. The downside...my nine-year old wanted to swim. The pool and hot tub were freezing. The pool needs major maintenance and should just be shut down and not advertised. The paint was chipping. Just gross.

Rooms have been recently remodeled. Very clean rooms. I would suggest that you request a room on the back side of the hotel away from the highway. There are a lot of truck traffic on the highway. Enjoyed the bar lounge both nights and the bartender was great. Too bad the restaurant is no longer open but they still offer a continental breakfast.

Very clean inside the room, outside on the property, and inside in the common areas. That's very important to me. The staff were helpful and responsive. Decent breakfast. I would definitely stay here again, in fact this is my second time here. I especially like the patio entrance to the room. You can park right at your room and come in and out easily. I find that very convenient and I feel safe with this option in Carroll. I wouldn't stay in this type of room in, say, Chicago, but here it's great. The property doesn't get five stars for these things: no elevator. The bed isn't comfortable for me; you may find it is for you. The ADJUSTABLE shower head is seven feet up on the wall, so while I would love to adjust the shower flow style, it's impossible for me, thus rendering it useless for me. I think it would have been difficult for my 6'4" son to reach. Lastly, we booked one room, but it had a (locked) connecting door -- and paper-thin walls. The 'neighbors' were LOUD, inappropriately so, and we (and other guests) had to complain. The staff was VERY responsive to our complaints and the rowdy guests were ejected from the room (hotel?). If you plan to be noisy, or need it to be super quiet, you should mention that to the staff at the time of your booking. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Vicki Newman-Dentlinger yes they changed my Cc twice and we changed rooms three times First room was upstairs, moved us to ground floor. Went in the room and checked the bathroom and it was nasty. They changed our room again to a room that was clean and approved. The front desk person stated she didn’t know the room was not clean for she does not work with housekeeping. Needless to say will not be staying there again.

The rooms did not have enough light. Three dim lamps and no overhead light in the entry area. More frustratingly, there was not a light in the toilet/shower room. The only bathroom light was in the sink area that didn’t have a door so every time anyone would go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, the light would wake everyone up. The floors on the steps had food crumbs on them for three days. There was no elevator. But the beds were really nice. They were firm but also soft, very comfortable.

This is my go-to place when staying in the Carroll County area. My King Jr Suite was spacious and comfortable, and I greatly appreciated the extra space for a 5-day stay. The bed was a bit on the firm side, but still comfortable, and having a sofa as an alternative to sitting on the bed was great. I also liked the close proximity of my room to the breakfast area -- it made getting coffee convenient and easier than having to make it a cup at time at 5:30 am. Only concern was the humidity in the room; because of the weird weather, I used both the AC and the heat during the week, but it always felt slightly damp. Still, I'll definitely stay here in the future.

I waited 20 minutes for a clerk to check in. Sign said helping other guests. No bell or anything like that so I just started calling them. On the 3rd call she answered and said she’d be up to check me in. Key cards didn’t work so I had to go back to the front desk. Room was fine for comfort and cleanliness. Breakfast room - garbage overflowing. Expecting one person to do the front desk and the breakfast room is too much. Checked out - they charged me for the room although I paid through hotels.com. There “shouldn’t be a charge”. I get a text when charges hit my card so showed her that I did have a charge. She Got back on the phobe with someone and then gave me an invoice showing zero due. Will be checking my credit card to be sure.

Checkout is 11 am. Staff started knocking on our door at 830 for cleaning and we told them we were not checked out yet. At 1030, a staff walked into our room without even knocking. I told the front desk staff and they didn’t say anything. No apology, just said it’s a busy morning. We will never stay here again and staff should be trained enough to knock on doors before entering!! Awful stay and no apology from the staff for the inappropriate walk in. Do not stay here!

Quick service at the counter the room was great. It was clean crisp well lit good AC the hallways were clean and quiet. The breakfast was delicious. The pool set up was really nice although we did not get in it. It was a little cold, but our day was wonderful.

Check in was smooth and easy but was all downhill from there. 1st room was 80 degrees and the AC was broken. Wasted an hour getting moved to another room. Once that fiasco was done our family was anxious to get into the pool. Unfortunately for everyone the heater was broken, water was ice cold!! No warning at all is the most frustrating thing. We were told we would be credited back for our inconveniences but they never followed through with that. Asked multiple times but nothing was done. Not a chance we would ever stay here again

I stayed at this property a number of years ago and had no problem, but I must have stayed in a ground floor room. This time I booked a second floor room - it was just a little bit cheaper - so this is on me. But there are NO elevators in the facility, which made it harder for this 71-year-old with arthritis. I've never had to make sure a facility HAD an elevator before... When I checked in, there was no one at the reception desk. I waited 15 minutes, then called the hotel's number and was immediately put on hold - THEN the one person on duty came to the Front Desk. Also, I found (to my surprise) that housekeeping is by demand only, and it has to be requested a day in advance. Unacceptable to me and I won't be going back.

Nice hotel. I would recommend getting an odd number room so that you are on the back side of the hotel. The front side is faces the highway and you can hear a lot of truck rumbling up. Nice selection for a breakfast considering the size of the space.

2nd stay at location in past couple months, comfortable. Unfortunate no restaurant. Breakfast bar is hit or miss. Both visits, no cranberry or orange juice. 2nd this stay had juice. First day this visit, no regular coffee available, only decaf. Desk staff ok, but get feeling they would rather be somewhere else.

One of major reasons cancelled reservation at other local hotel was because of internal restaurant at the Carrollton Inn.... Restaurant was closed and assumed has been closed for some time... therefore the amount paid for room vs other hotels in Carroll we have stayed at, not sure was as of the value that I was expecting.

The room size was good. Water pressure in shower was very low. The small fridge was full of ice, it hasn’t been thawed in a while. The breakfast area is not kept as clean as it should. Breakfast is ok but nothing to brag about having, food runs out quickly but not replaced as such. Checkout lady was not as friendly

Have stayed at this location few times over the past year, plus. Staff is nice and location is clean. Most less satisfactory is the breakfast... earlier stays coffee maker broken, juice machine not completely full of choices. Most recent visit, zero waffle mix in the machine, not empty, just no mix. Hot breakfast, only patty sausage remained. (Admittedly, was there at 8:45, free breakfast concludes at 9am). Of choices available in Carroll Iowa, will remain to book reservations here despite the above.

Quick service at the counter the room was great. It was clean crisp well lit good AC the hallways were clean and quiet. The breakfast was delicious. The pool set up was really nice although we did not get in it. It was a little cold, but our day was wonderful.

This was much better than last place. I stayed through this app. Couple things concerning me a little bit. Like there was a bobby pin on the floor and I often travel with my partner. Who is also male. But, since I found a bobby pin on the floor, it made me feel like to date it. It thoroughly clean in between us and the previous guests!

We checked in got our room and went in. The toilet seat was cracked and pinched me. There was no hand soap The mirrors were dirty The tub drained very slowly so when you shower your standing in water. There were hundreds of ants that had gotten into our stuff. The pool was freezing so couldn’t swim. Housekeepers banging doors at 6am by leaving the lock on so they don’t have to use the key card to go in and out. It was the worst stay I’ve ever had anywhere will definitely not be returning ever
