Parking is a nightmare, especially first time arriving. The hotel park it for you, but you need to give them a one hour notice if you need it. Charge £10 per day. Our first morning at breakfast was a farce. The restaurant was busy and presumably not enough staff, as they were running around like headless chickens. I was like a Jack in the Box. Firstly no cutlery laid out, no white sugar, loads and loads of brown. No bread, she brought out three slices and put it in the basket. However next morning was better, but not busy. Continental breakfast very basic, nothing to get excited about. For the price a cooked breakfast should be included. The pool, steam, sauna and gym first class. Water warm. Rooms are clean, but dated. The lift is from the 30’s or 40’s. If people leave the gate open then bad luck.

Our room was huge but our friends room below was tiny. Loved the lift, very good and staff on the whole excellent. Now the things that let it down, event on lowest floor yet staff having to run upstairs to another bar for soft drinks??? Unsure why at some point you wouldnt just bring some downstairs. Pizzas on buffet looked cheap and not the quality the hotel excudes elsewhere. Oh and no veggie sausages at least 2 days in a row. In 2026 to be told the Chef apologises and is trying to source some - yeah even lidl and aldi do linda mccartneys, heck most cornershops stock them, be honest, people appreciate it more. Overall pricey but a lovely hotel, love the outside deck and that its dog friendly, harder and harder to find high standard accomodation thats also pet friendly. Overall a pleasant stay, and helpful staff, events service could be higher with minor tweeks but the cocktails were good and those serving drinks and canapes were friendly and professional. Do not let pizzas out the kitchen looking like that, heck splash out and throw some salad on the plate or something. They looked shop bought even if they werent which should tell you what you need to know. I can get a stonebaked pizza for £10 with toppings from a truck. Maybe we just got them on a bad day but still at £300 per night for a standard room, you do expect it to be at least as tasty as a basic takeaway pizza. Continental breakfast selection was good, everything you'd expect including very tasty overnight oats.

A very old hotel which promotes itself as upmarket with a spa. There are a lot of levels, lots of stairs and a very old lift. We had a Sea view room expecting a luxury stay. Whilst the view was spectacular of St Ives beach, the room promoted as King Size bed, definitely wasn't. Rooms are spacious but bathrooms are tiny. There was no walk-in shower as requested but a bath/shower combo impossible for a short person to get in and out of. The space between the bath and bedroom was barely wide enough to get to the basin which had no bench space for your toiletries. The room was warm and there is no air-conditioning but a small fan was provided. Complimentary gin and tonic in the room and an ineffective mini-fridge with some mini bar items. The hallways were noisy, the wood floor creaked and you could hear doors banging all night. Used the pool in the spa which was very relaxing. Change rooms had lockers and showers. There was also a bathers spin to get the water out! Hair-dryer and curling wand available for use and towels also provided. Breakfast was included in room rate but was only for continental selection. You could order hot items from the menu which was extra. Ate in the restaurant. Food was delicious but overpriced. When paying we were pressured to include the optional service fee although service was not anything but ordinary making this one very expensive meal. There are not many other restaurants nearby unless you walk downhill to the town centre and then its a very s
