Tru by Hilton Naperville Chicago

Nice hotel but during my stay there was a thunderstorm where lightning struck and we lost power to the TV, air conditioning unit, the refrigerator compressor blew and we had no hot water the next morning. We asked to be moved into a different room but due to the computer System being down they were Not allowed Pretty unfortunate when you spend $120 a night and you lose all these amenities and there isn’t a back up plan to accommodate their customers. This happened at 2:30 in the morning and they had only one gentleman working who remained very professional And was as helpful as he could be But still very Frustrating for all involved. Staffing all around excellent but service should be more accommodating in times like this

We had to make a short trip out to Naperville for our new adopted dog, so we made it into a family trip. The room was a little snug with the four of us, but so worth it for the great amenities and breakfast. We loved the lobby area! Thank you for keeping it kid friendly with the pool table, games, coloring, and hot cocoa. Plenty of space for us to hang out.

This was my second time at this location and it was good. The only issue we had this time was that the pool was closed and that was the main reason I booked there again. But overall it was a good stay.

My family enjoyed the stay at this hotel. The hot breakfast was good and the kids enjoyed the pool and the gym.

Overall it was a good stay. Parking was easy. Location good. Room great! Functional. Loved squeeze bottles of soap, shampoo and lotion. Unhappy that the pool was closed for routine maintainence and was not informed. No notice the day before or upon check in. Ran out of coffee during breakfast. Took quite awhile to replace. Breakfast items not monitored and no one replacing food. Not well organized.

I was surprised at how clean it was and friendly the staff. It is not high end but very worth the cost. Their gym is small but the y have a peloton bike!!! Big win. The free breakfast is good and I love that. Offer is available all day in lobby. Saves on coffee machines in rooms

There was no internet and tv connection for the whole duration of our stay due to the storm, they were not able to fix it. It was hard especially if your connection is just limited and you are trying to book museum passes and such.

It's a beautiful property. There was storm the night before I arrived which knocked out the internet which in turn affected the television. Not an issue on arrival because I had plans. But returning after midnight and still no internet or TV, inconvenient. I asked the front desk if I can get a discount due to the lack of stated amenities, to which I was told they were offing snacks. Really? Microwave popcorn is not going to mask the sound of the crying toddler next door. I asked again at checkout to which the person made reference to booking through a third party and not being a Hilton honors member. I was only there for one night and expected to be able to watch tv. If part of the standard amenities are not available, I should not be charged the full price regardless of membership. Not sure if I would recommend.

Great Stay Nice Heated Pool for the little one very respectful

The hotel and staff were great! My 6 night stay was quiet and there is a restaurant within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel has created a friendly family environment with family activities like pool and games. What I didn't like was there was no closet to hang your clothing or drawers to place clothing in. If you prefer living out of your luggage, this would not be an issue for you. There was a small area over the table that the refrigerator sat in where you could hang 6 items.. I felt the smell of anything eaten in the room would be on my hanging clothes. What I didn't like was, there is no microwave in the rooms. If you want to warm your food, you must go to the lobby and place your food in the community microwave. I did not like having to go up and down just to warm my food. Very surprised at a Hilton hotel requiring such nonsense.

The room smelled like mildew and there was a spill when we walked in, as if all surfaces weee not cleaned. The breakfast was very limited and not appetizing.

This is our 2nd stay at this Tru hotel location. We absolutely loved our first stay, so we came back. The room was clean but the bathroom smelled weird and there was yellow droplets on the seat of the toilet - it looked like pee? Had to go out and buy disinfectant products to wipe down the toilet and the shower stall didn’t really look clean either so I cleaned that as well.

Bathroom floors had a lot of hairs. The shower had the corner shelf for shaving leg busted. The front desk lady was too busy on her cell phone when we checked out that she didn’t talk to us outside of asking for our room number. Very rude and unprofessional! She should work instead of being on the cell phone.

The property was in what seemed like an industrial area, surrounded by semis. Our sheets smelled like sweat. Bit disappointed.

Thin walls, ceilings, heard tv next to us and footsteps above us during late hours. No couch in the hotel room. Ended up going to another hotel after the first night.

No dressers in the room to put clothes in - rooms are pretty small

Room was small but clean. Parking was plentiful. This seemed more like a place for business travelers. Mattress was too soft for our liking. Refrigerator in our room didn't work and breakfast was just okay.

Bed was lower quality, the whole bed shook when husband rolled over. The pillows were flat. Over all it was uncomfortable. The room itself was loud. You could hear every step people took from the room above us. The room was also near the hotel washer and dryer which sounded like it was in the room with us.

Overall the hotel is great. Very modern and clean but I will say I am not sure if it’s because the rooms are “wood” floor versus carpet but the people above me were extremely loud but it could just be the floors. It did get to the point where I had to call the front desk because it had been a day and a half straight. The woman who answered was courteous and said she would call them but it never changed. But overall, I’d stay here again, just might need stronger ear plugs haha

When we arrived there was no staff at the desk for almost 30 minutes! There were several guests who were waiting to check in, but no one to be found. Despite loud calls for someone to assist us, no one came until almost 30 minutes when the front desk staff finally emerged from the bathroom. Then, the walls and floors are extremely thin, as we were kept up at night from the constant pounding and moaning of someone on the floor above use having sex. Plus you could here the footsteps of people waling around above you. All around a terrible stay!

Both at arrival and departure, the staff were on their personal phones and didn’t communicate well with me. I asked for a receipt as I left and was told they only email them. 12 hours later, I still don’t have one. No coffee in the room. Uncomfortable bed and pillows. Dirty office chair in room. Terrible breakfast. I’m supposed to be back next month, but canceled at this hotel.

We did not have a good experience at this hotel. We were charged 3 times for our room, and when we complained the desk attendant said she could see we had been charged 3 times, but there was nothing she could do and we would have to ask for the manager during the day. I talked to the manager who said she could not see that we had been overcharged and there was nothing she could do about it. She suggested I call the credit card company and then give the phone to her so she could talk to them. Unprofessional! I called the credit card company later and they suggested I dispute the overcharges and they would credit us back. The manager should have been able to contact the credit card company or look at my hotel account like the night attendant did and see that I had been overcharged. After three nights we asked to have the sheets on our bed changed. The desk attendant said they only change the beds after 5 nights. After 5 nights the sheets were still not changed, the trash was not taken out and the room looked terrible. The walls and ceiling were paper thin. It sounded like the people above us were moving furniture, and we could hear the people having sex on one side of us, and conversation on the other side. The rooms were sparsely furnished with no drawers to put clothes in. The closet consisted of a bar from the ceiling to hang clothes on. This is not the quality one would expect from a hotel in the Hilton line.

Customer service was top notch. Ralph, the front desk agent that checked me in was very friendly and efficient. He made check in a breeze. He was also very knowledgeable of the area and was able to provide me with several suggestions for activities to do and places to eat near by.

Front desk staff weren’t very friendly. Never said welcome just “you got a reservation?, good morning, or good evening. Breakfast in lobby was sparse no matter what time you went down and not a big selection. Had a waiver that had to be signed at front desk at check in for no loud music or noise after 10pm, no vaping. The need for a waiver had us questioning what type of establishment we had booked. Will not book this property in the future.

I didn't like the fact I had a concern and the over night staff was very rude other than that everything else was nice and the other staff

Very nice new property by Hilton. Very well appointed decor. Very friendly staff especially Desiraye G. For going above and beyond. I arrived about 2 pm ( hour before check in time) the systems were down but she checked me in manually so we could go about our day. Dog friendly property with nice amenities. The free breakfast was adequate. Definitely would stay at these properties again

Friendly and efficient check-in.

Great location, just off I-88 and there is a Cracker Barrel behind the property which you could walk to. There are dozens of dining options on 59. The hotel itself is very safe and very clean. Breakfast has a great selection including pancakes, bagels, toast, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal and a daily hot egg and meat option. There is also milk, juice, coffee and hot chocolate. Our disabled room was perfect. There was plenty of room for my son and his wheelchair and the room was very modern. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Extra towels each day were never a problem. The main reason I scored low was due to thin walls. Our first night was great, however, the walls/ceilings are paper thin to the point you can hear what the guest in the next room is saying, should they elevate their voice in the slightest way. Add in a guest that was extremely loud with what sounded like a party going on and it makes for a sleepless night which marked our second night. We did report the noise around 3am to the front desk and although the noise did stop about 90 minutes, I don't know if that's due to the front desk stepping in or simply the guest next door going to sleep. Our third night was sleepless as well as the guest above us on the 4th floor paced ALL night. Every single step could be heard and it was loud and echoed throughout our room. I've never experienced such poor insulation in a hotel before. I'm not sure if I would stay again or book the Fairfield in the same parking lot.

Very nice hotel. It’s in an industrial park area, so nothing to walk to. I’ve never stayed stayed at a Tru, but liked the amenities.

It is close to freeway 88 and nice outside seating, in the back, to relax.

Very average. Does the trick if you just need a place to sleep. There is literally nothing around the building.

I like the Tru brand--its quirky and a combination of a family-friendly "game-night" vibe set in a modern European setting (at least it reminded me of new hotels in Europe). The staff was friendly and conscientious about meeting your needs. We stayed here to avoid overpriced downtown Chicago hotels while visiting the city. About an hour commute, but easy access and free parking. Too far for CTA, unfortunately, but traffic wasn't awful.

Friendly staff. Property looked fresh and well maintained. Only problem was finding the entrance from the main road!

Very well kept property. Not right in the mix of things so it was quieter. Close to the Highway.

We really just slept after a very busy day in the city. The place was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Easy access from main roads. Priced fairly.

Staff was wonderful, hotel was excellent! Loved the 24 hour coffee/tea/cocoa bar and the breakfast was awesome! Definitely recommend and will be using this hotel next time I’m in the area!

First of all seemed like a teenage hangout, someone was loud all night in our area. The staff at check-in seemed very dismissive and like she did not want to be there. Not welcoming at all. The room was great. Toiletries in the restroom were great. Shower was nice and hot. Bed was good too. Breakfast was terrible though. No good options. They were out of coffee too. We just ended up leaving and stopping to get something. I would probably stay here again if I had to but would not count on customer service or a hot breakfast.

Check in was easy. The lobby and room were clean and spacious. There were info boards near the elevators that we found helpful. Breakfast day one was fine, but day 2, they were out of breakfast meat and then ran out of eggs. The beds were not comfortable (personal opinion) and VERY squeaky. Any time one of us rolled over, the noise woke the other person. Housekeeping did not make the beds, but did replace towels and empty the trash. Overall, it was ok, but we've always had excellent and comfortable experiences with Hilton properies.

There were high highs and low lows here. The place and the rooms looked great. The overall design of the room was nice because it didn't have those huge desks taking up so much unneeded space. It really made it feel easier to just spread out. The staff was also good and attentive to things which was nice. While the breakfast was included, it was strange because there were almost no toppings for the oatmeal or pancakes and the juices offered were watered down. The location wasn't also really walkable-friendly. Some close places but it felt like this property was pretty away from anything that wasn't the cracker barrel. House keeping seldomly ever popped by also.

I checked in at night and the attendant didn’t know the password to connect to WiFi. Had to go to a coffee shop for a good connection. Website said breakfast started at 6:00. That was not the case for weekends. Didn’t start till 7. Had to go buy breakfast everyday as I had to be at work by then.
