Staff were all very helpful and the hotel was perfect for a couple of nights. There was no access to a microwave at the hotel though (not in the room or in a common area).

Lovely hotel near the city center. Walking distance to metro and various restaurants. The bed was very comfortable. There was a free coffee bar in the morning, and a small gym on the premises. Definitely recommend.

I found this hotel to be conveniently located for walks to landmarks & museums. I walk several miles every day, so it was perfect. I believe the WH & Capital were about 2 miles away, so some might prefer Uber or such. Amenities were nice. Large and comfortable bed and large bathroom with nice shower were great. There is a bar as well as small restaurant on site. The enclosed courtyard were my favorite as it was quite there with little to no street noise.

Beautiful hotel, very comfortable room. Nice public spaces. Food from restaurant was outstanding. Service was efficient and friendly. Knocking off one star because there's no in-room coffee and no ice machines!

I had a fantastic stay at the Morrison Clark Historic Inn and highly recommend it for anyone visiting the heart of Washington, D.C. The rate I secured through Hotels.com was excellent, especially considering the quality of the hotel and its prime location. It’s within walking distance of City Center, Gallery Place, and the Convention Center, making it super convenient for exploring downtown DC. There are some great restaurants nearby, including RPM Italian where I grabbed a quick express lunch, and Farmers and Distillers, which had a fantastic brunch buffet. The hotel’s decor was charming, blending historic character with modern comfort, and it was very well maintained throughout my stay. The staff really made a difference—they were friendly, attentive, and accommodating, ensuring that every part of my stay was seamless. The thoughtful touches stood out as well—hot apple cider and coffee in the lobby created a welcoming atmosphere, while the room had everything I needed. The shower was excellent, the blackout curtains ensured a great night's sleep, and the high-speed internet was perfect for catching up on work. The fitness center was an added bonus, too. I also appreciated the complimentary spring water and chocolates—such a nice, old-fashioned touch that’s hard to find these days. Another plus was the 12 p.m. check-out time, which was such a relief compared to the early check-out times at many other hotels. It made my departure so much more relaxed.

Room was clean, staff was very friendly. Restaurant had good breakfast. The bar I would say was lacking a little bit of vibe but otherwise everything was great. I would stay there again .

stayed here during a con. very convenient location, two blocks the convention center and metro with lots of food options nearby. everything was very nice and clean, and the room was bigger than expected! would've been better if the room has its own coffee machine and water kettle, but they do offer free tea/coffee at the bar.

A very beautiful historic hotel with a nice bar and an outstanding restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were extremely clean. Will book again.

Beautiful accommodations. Parking is only available using valet - $45 a night, unless you want to self park on the street but parking is not that convenient. Rooms were beautiful comfortable

The number of homeless people around the area on the Sunday was not pleasant Finding hair on the furniture and a stained towel were the only details to an almost perfect stay

Many of the staff were great! Enjoyed our breakfast there and our bartender that night, also from California! The room was a a Jr ste and was beautiful, bed comfy, bathroom nice! They only add would be phone charger near bed and replacing the stained rug. Would come again!

Great location, but there were big cobwebs on the ceiling of my room. They did have someone clean the room which was great but there were still cob webs even after it was cleaned. Wouldn’t stay here again.

The pillows has a musty, moldy smell , not the pillowcases i mean the pillow it self , so it needs to be replaced.

Our room, althiugh small, was very quiet, dark, and at a comfortable temperature. No loud air conditioner blasting or hallway noise. Great for sleeping in a busy City.

This room faced L St and it was not quiet. Though larger than other rooms, the bright street light was hard to bear while sleeping. Rooms in the back and top floors are quieter and darker.

It was a nice hotel but we paid for a junior suite and we got a standard d room right by the service door and it slammed from 5 am to past 8 and the elevator hoist must have been right next to our room and that ran all night and morning. Just horrible

Clean, comfortable, nice front desk staff, and great area.

Their system was down for the entire evening. I could not use the Wi-Fi from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. the following day. It was a super inconvenience, and they didn't offer any compensation. Other than that, my experience of the hotel staff's services and location were good.

Great location. Staff friendly. Room clean. Pleased in one of 2 second story rooms overlooking the bar/lobby. Loud depending who’s in the bar/lobby. Only a thin shade over window so unable to darken the room at night because of light from the street.

Very close to the Convention Center which was where I needed to be for the days I was staying. Plus, 9th Street has many great restaurants that are all walkable. It is a old hotel (yes, it is in the name) but I would say that from my room you could hear everyone walking around and noises in the middle of the night. Just felt like the walls were paper-thin. The restaurant was pretty good and the staff was super nice, but the restaurant was kind of pricy and breakfast was not free, which I had originally thought it would be. The bed was also very hard, and the bathroom was slightly outdated. A decent place to stay if you are on a budget.

The hot water was unreliable on the top floor. One night it wouldn't get hot at all, and then one morning it took much longer than usual. I'm not sure what factored into it, but it was inconsistent across the 4 showers taken there.

The staff there are very friendly. The location is super convenient and walkable to tourist attractions. The only thing is that the walls are not soundproof so we can hear if people were talking at the corridor.

Our room was beautiful and much nicer than expected. Very tastefully appointed room with windows that actually open! Unfortunately the bathtub faucet was full of sediment to the point where we couldn’t take a bath but we settled on a shower.

Had a great time - spent four nights at hotel. Our room was clean and perfectly sufficient for our stay. The staff are very kind and welcoming.

Gave me the wrong room

The worst, they aren’t even there for check in

Check in staff just seemed wooden and without personality. I arrived at 243pm; check in at 3pm; I was asked to wait 40m for a room. All of a sudden (after 5m) I was then given a room in which I could hear the elevator - I initially thought it was a truck but soon realized no. Anyway, a very average and forgetful stay.

My stay was excellent overall. The waitress in the restaurant Jeanine was very helpful and nice. She gave me fruit to take to my room and she worked hard- night shift and then again the following morning to make up for being short of staff. The bartender should be trained to be a little nicer to guests. I arrived at 8:30pm at night and went to my room. Later, I can downstairs and walked to the bar. The bartender said,”Sorry miss we’re closed” I asked if I could get a snack, “Sorry, restaurant is closed-10 pm.” I did not know the bar and restaurant closed at 10pm. I went to bed the first night a little hungry. Perhaps tell guests when they check in what time the restaurant closes. I was also double charged for breakfast. The same price appeared twice on my card.

This hotel is exceptionally run and the staff crate a welcome environment that I will return to next time in Washington DC

We were hoping to get an early check in and although it wasn't as early as we hoped for, Jessica got us in in time for us to make it to our job site. She was really helpful, polite and professional.

This hotel has been my home for a week. All staff are friendly. Starting on my first day here, the staff helped me with my luggage the moment I step out from my uber. They ensured I got what I need. When I needed maintenance request, their staff, Marvin was quick to help and fix what I needed. Everyone that worked here are like a family. This is the first time I felt like home when I’m at a hotel because the staff are like a family. It was inspiring to see. They cleaned my room everyday and when it was raining, the hotel had an umbrella that I could borrow. My review won’t do justice for the amazing stay I had. It was very hospitable and the best was the staff. I would definitely choose this hotel when I come back!

The hotel is lovely and quiet in a bustling part of DC- truly an oasis. But what stood out the most was the gracious and accommodating staff. Every single person made me feel like a regularly returning VIP rather than a first time guest.

This is a charming, well kept, lovely hotel in a great spot close to a trendy University area with eclectic dining options. Just a hop, skip and a jump from museums and the White House too. This is a very sophisticated hotel without being pretentious.

Perfect, walking distance to Walter Washington conference center for business as well as for restaurants and shopping.

Outstanding location

For the money, this was one of the best hotels I've stayed. Spent a long weekend there and staff was always super friendly. Everything was clean, and the rooms felt high-end, with just the right touches. We walked everywhere from the hotel, catching buses or Metro whenever we needed to. Easy to get to all the Capital sights.

This hotel is closed to the White House. The major museums are within walking distance. Very convenient location. The room is old but well maintained. Bottled water is provided in the room. The coffee at the lobby was not good though.

This is a hidden gem in the DC area and my favorite place to stay. Quiet, elegant, beautiful boutique hotel at its best! The price would lead you to believe otherwise. I love to hang out in the lobby or courtyard and the staff could NOT be more helpful. Really. They couldn't. The Mt. Vernon metro is a few blocks away with a direct line to the Mall for museums or anywhere else. Safe neighborhood but not remote. I felt comfortable walking alone anywhere, anytime.

In the heart of the city you will find a beautiful, welcoming place to stay. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The decor reminded me of London meets Asia. The courtyard is a peaceful place to sit and enjoy a drink with family or friends. The restaurant has a very nice menu. The staff is more helpful and eager than many places I’ve stayed recently. We stayed here for a conference being held at the Marriott Marquis (literally one block away) and were much more satisfied than those that stayed at the Marriott.

Morrison Clark Historic Inn was fantastic! The room was large and had a nice bathroom. The Restaurant was excellent, we ate all our breakfast and dinner with the restaurant. The wait staff was excellent and the food was exceptional.

The hotel was very nice and clean, also the staff was very good and friendly, but the food inside of the hotel was terrible i tried it once and it was the last time because it was so bad.

The property was well maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. I had the most amazing meals at the restaurant! I had the best Salmon dish my first night. The second day I enjoyed the brunch then a wonderful mushroom ragu over pasta for dinner. Ambience of the dining room is wonderful!
