This was our 4th stay at Casa Chameleon Las Catalinas. It's always a good time. We often spend at least one day around the pool and/or in our villa and in our own plunge pool. It is very relaxing. We also enjoy exploring the area nearby by car, visiting local nearby beaches, going out on the water to snorkel and find dolphins, whales, and turtles. This year we did not go down to Las Catalinas, hike the trails of Las Catalina's, or visit Danta beach because of a large race going on for 3 of the days we were there. But we typically enjoy all of those too.

But we typically enjoy all of those too.

Nice hotel, incredible view, lovely bar at sunset, nice rooms with stunning views. I did not put 5 stars because the restaurant is not great, menu is limited. Could do much better for a relais et chateau.

Beautiful views, staff makes you feel welcome. The infinity pool overlooking the peninsula is beyond gorgeous and serene. The hotel staff will take you to and from the Las Catalinas town-which is very quaint. We took advantage of the in room spa service for massage with the amazing Brie and sounds of waves crashing. Our stay was topped of with a beyond amazing dining experience at steak house where the chef shared his inspiration for every meal and it’s preparation. Fortunately for us it was the final dining experience in Costa Rica because it was by far the best and it would have been hard to beat.

Staff were very warm & friendly. Room was to die for. Bed facing private deck with private infinity pool connecting with the ocean & horizon!!! Didn’t really need to leave the room ….except that it was wonderful going up for breakfast every morning (overlooking the whole bay)….or having a drink & some food poolside by the restaurant. Walking down the hill to Las Catalinas & back gave us the cardio we needed. My favorite hotel in the world !

Our villa 14 was thoughtfully designed with a private saltwater plunge pool, open-air shower, and fires that open to the beautiful plunge pool. The on-site restaurant, Sentido Norte, serves breakfast (included in the stay) each morning. This included fresh juice, fruits, pastries, and your choice of entree. A few practical tips: the terrain is steep, so be prepared for some walking, but the staff is always ready to assist with golf cart rides and also help with luggage. Also, if driving, opt for a suv because the road to get there is rough. Overall, Casa Chameleon exceeded all expectations!!

This resort is one of the most magical places I’ve stayed at. The view, the food, and especially the people were beyond our expectations! My husband and I stayed for 6 nights to celebrate our honeymoon and i wouldn’t have wished to have spent my honeymoon anywhere else! The customer service is exceptional at casa chameleon, anything you want it’s at your door with no trouble what so ever. The views from each villa is gorgeous! You even have a shower w glass doors that overlook the pool and the beautiful ocean. Theres a town down the street that you can ask the staff to drive u to and when you’re done all you have to do is sent a text to the front desk and someone’s already on their way to pick you up and bring you back to the resort. I couldn’t recommend this place more, especially for couples looking to relax and soak up the sun and beautiful views from your own private plunge pool❤️

You can’t get a better coastal location than this. The pool overlooks the ocean and bay, while every room has a similar private view with your own infinity edge pool. Every member of the staff embraces “pura vida” lifestyle with a smile and willingness to help you with whatever you may need, and in your choice of language. If you’re looking for a place to relax and have easy access to a small coastal town, this can’t be beat. Great meal options on site as well. We had especially great service from the concierge team: André and William, as well as Omer and Tomas in the restaurant.

This was one of the best adult only hotels that my husband and I visited. We were there the end of June 2024. It was rainy season but that didn't dampen our trip. Our ride to and from the airport was with an amazing person named Rose. We were greeted by Alexandra an extremely caring and helpful concierge. Arrangements for activities were handled professionally. The restaurant serves a delicious menu; excellent chef and staff. Our villa was beautiful. We had excellent massages in our room. Every staff member was friendly and amazing. Best time EVER!!!!

We stayed at Casa Chameleon in Costa Rica and absolutely loved our room. It was spotless, with super comfortable beds and pillows that made it easy to relax. The highlight was definitely the stunning view. We couldn’t get enough of it! Having a private pool right outside our room made the experience even more special. It was peaceful, luxurious, and the perfect touch for our stay. Highly recommend!

Everything about Casa Chameleon is sensational. The property is pristine, the rooms was gorgeous, and most notably, the service is like nothing we have ever experienced. So friendly and accommodating, the staff was just amazing. Truly one of the greatest vacations my wife have ever had.

Our stay at Casa Chameleon in Las Catalinas was nothing short of spectacular. If your looking for something very intimate, relaxing & secluded this is where you want to be. From the moment we arrived, the staff at reception were incredibly welcoming & helpful throughout our entire 2 week stay! All the staff on site were absolutely exceptional!! We celebrated both our 30th anniversary & my husband’s birthday & the staff went above & beyond to make these both very memorable!❤️ Our room was spotless, clean & very comfortable. The view from our room, Danta 2 was nothing but SPECTACULAR!!! 🥰 The ocean view was incredible! Dining at Sentido Norte - Breakfast included fresh fruit & freshly baked pastries, great start to your day. Staff was very accommodating to alter menu items Eg: Derryk very much enjoyed his steak & eggs! The food was all excellent!! Once again the staff was exceptional! If I had to provide any complaints it would be to provide a stool of some sort in the shower. It would make shaving your legs less challenging! Thank you to all the staff, I know it makes it a lot more personal of a review to name specific staff members but we can honestly say all the staff were remarkable! You guys honestly made Derryk & I have a vacation to remember with amazing memories! We will be back!! Derryk & Penny❤️

I was surprised to see that none of the other reviews talked about the noise and construction dust everywhere. The scenery and the property are indeed beautiful and at some point in the future they will meet their description. The staff is also great, very friendly and professional. The restaurant on the property is excellent. The view with the sunset is indeed special. However, there is ongoing construction, not only on the property but around it, in the close neighborhood, that creates a 7am to 6pm noise and dust that covers everything. The whole city Las Catalinas is currently under development.

The staff was excellent, although the level of understanding/training was mixed. Restaurants were excellent, really well done. I should note that the facility is basically built on a hillside so the villas have a fair number of stairs to get to (we had a climb of about 80 stairs). Ocean views are worth the view.

This property is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. Every room is a Vila with its own swimming pool and truly incredible view. There are some certain rooms that have better views such as room #14 where we stayed but all rooms are amazing. The property is far from most activities as it is closer to the beach than the main areas where water springs (hot waters) etc are… but I wanted to be near the beach and further from things therefore it was perfect for us. The roads are in pretty poor condition in Costa Rica in overall with no highway therefore be ready to drive to the main activities for at least 1.5 hours as a distance of about 30 miles usually takes about 1.5 hours on those roads. If you are looking for a very high end hotel (although pretty expensive hotel) with breath-taking views and very very good food, this is the place for you.

Every member of the staff embraces “pura vida” lifestyle with a smile and willingness to help you with whatever you may need, and in your choice of language. If you’re looking for a place to relax and have easy access to a small coastal town, this can’t be beat. Great meal options on site as well. We had especially great service from the concierge team: André and William, as well as Omer and Tomas in the restaurant.

I recently had the misfortune of staying at casa chameleon, and it was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever encountered. I booked a sunrise villa with an ocean view, eagerly anticipating the beautiful mornings by the sea. Instead, I was given a partial sunset ocean view, which was not what I had paid for. When I raised this issue with the manager, I was offered three options: a free dinner, a $$ credit, or a massage. While this might seem like a reasonable attempt at compensation, it did not address the fact that I was overcharged for a sunrise villa I never received. To make matters worse, I discovered I was overcharged at the hotel’s restaurant. Adding insult to injury, I found charges for tours that I never took. This level of incompetence and dishonesty is simply unacceptable. I intend to take further action once I return to the U.S. I’ll be contacting my bank to dispute some of these transactions. Additionally, I plan to share my experience on my TikTok and YouTube channels to warn others about this hotel’s practices. I strongly advise potential guests to consider other accommodations to avoid the stress and disappointment I experienced at casa chameleon.

Everything about Casa Chameleon is sensational. The property is pristine, the rooms was gorgeous, and most notably, the service is like nothing we have ever experienced. So friendly and accommodating, the staff was just amazing. Truly one of the greatest vacations my wife have ever had.

Our stay at Casa Chameleon in Las Catalinas was nothing short of spectacular. If your looking for something very intimate, relaxing & secluded this is where you want to be. From the moment we arrived, the staff at reception were incredibly welcoming & helpful throughout our entire 2 week stay! All the staff on site were absolutely exceptional!! We celebrated both our 30th anniversary & my husband’s birthday & the staff went above & beyond to make these both very memorable!❤️ Our room was spotless, clean & very comfortable. The view from our room, Danta 2 was nothing but SPECTACULAR!!! 🥰 The ocean view was incredible! Dining at Sentido Norte - Breakfast included fresh fruit & freshly baked pastries, great start to your day. Staff was very accommodating to alter menu items Eg: Derryk very much enjoyed his steak & eggs! The food was all excellent!! Once again the staff was exceptional! If I had to provide any complaints it would be to provide a stool of some sort in the shower. It would make shaving your legs less challenging! Thank you to all the staff, I know it makes it a lot more personal of a review to name specific staff members but we can honestly say all the staff were remarkable! You guys honestly made Derryk & I have a vacation to remember with amazing memories! We will be back!! Derryk & Penny❤️

This property offers gorgeous views from all sides of the resort. They are known for having the best location to view sunsets in the area. The staff are top notch, service is impeccable. We especially enjoyed the wine tasting experience, and poolside service was great. We visited during the rainy season but were lucky with the weather, all mornings were clear and sunny except one. This resort is a great place to rejuvenate. It is a bit secluded so if you wanted to visit the local town you need a taxi. They offer a host of excursions, including hiking, adventure tours, and fishing. The location is walkable to the local beach, in a small town under development. Just a beautiful location. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Casa Chameleon was beyond superb. All staff members were attentive and friendly. We were consistently addressed by our names and greeted by all staff we passed. When issues popped up in our room (the air conditioner and hot water not working), they were fixed expediently. The front desk staff was always there to ensure our requests were fulfilled - from activity and restaurant reservations to contracting rides for us to various locations. The property itself is a destination. The view from every single vantage point takes your breath away. Las Catalinas is a growing town with plenty of restaurants to satisfy any palette. The room was one of the most romantic I have ever stayed in. The view was incredible, and I could live on that balcony. It was so very private we felt like we were on a honeymoon. Finally, when the airport was closed and we were stranded for 3 extra days, the staff was kind and accommodating, leaving us without a worry in the world.

This place is amazing! Service is beyond good. These folks will take care of EVERYTHING for you. Plunge pool rooms make you never want to leave. Room rates aren’t cheap, but other costs, e.g. food, are quite reasonable. Construction is going on around the base of the hill that the hotel sits on, typically 8 - 4pm. Depending on your room, could be annoying. Property feels very safe. Sunsets are spectacular!

I was surprised to see that none of the other reviews talked about the noise and construction dust everywhere. The scenery and the property are indeed beautiful and at some point in the future they will meet their description. The staff is also great, very friendly and professional. The restaurant on the property is excellent. The view with the sunset is indeed special. However, there is ongoing construction, not only on the property but around it, in the close neighborhood, that creates a 7am to 6pm noise and dust that covers everything. The whole city Las Catalinas is currently under development.

The staff was excellent, although the level of understanding/training was mixed. Restaurants were excellent, really well done. I should note that the facility is basically built on a hillside so the villas have a fair number of stairs to get to (we had a climb of about 80 stairs). Ocean views are worth the view.

Nice hotel, incredible view, lovely bar at sunset, nice rooms with stunning views. I did not put 5 stars because the restaurant is not great, menu is limited. Could do much better for a relais et chateau.

Stunning property that is isolated and a unique, beautiful experience. Definitely a place to just stay and relax there in isolation. Very romantic and the pool/beach views are extraordinary. More amenities would be nice. Staff was incredible - shoutout to Kevin! There could be a more extensive menu at dinner for how elegant the location and hotel is.

Our stay at Casa Chameleon in Las Catalinas was nothing short of spectacular. If your looking for something very intimate, relaxing & secluded this is where you want to be. From the moment we arrived, the staff at reception were incredibly welcoming & helpful throughout our entire 2 week stay! All the staff on site were absolutely exceptional!! We celebrated both our 30th anniversary & my husband’s birthday & the staff went above & beyond to make these both very memorable!❤️ Our room was spotless, clean & very comfortable. The view from our room, Danta 2 was nothing but SPECTACULAR!!! 🥰 The ocean view was incredible! Dining at Sentido Norte - Breakfast included fresh fruit & freshly baked pastries, great start to your day. Staff was very accommodating to alter menu items Eg: Derryk very much enjoyed his steak & eggs! The food was all excellent!! Once again the staff was exceptional! If I had to provide any complaints it would be to provide a stool of some sort in the shower. It would make shaving your legs less challenging! Thank you to all the staff, I know it makes it a lot more personal of a review to name specific staff members but we can honestly say all the staff were remarkable! You guys honestly made Derryk & I have a vacation to remember with amazing memories! We will be back!! Derryk & Penny❤️

Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas is a dream destination for those seeking luxury, privacy, and breathtaking scenery. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality, a chilled towel. The property’s hilltop location offers stunning panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding rainforest. Our villa 14 was thoughtfully designed with a private saltwater plunge pool, open-air shower, and fires that open to the beautiful plunge pool. The on-site restaurant, Sentido Norte, serves breakfast (included in the stay) each morning. This included fresh juice, fruits, pastries, and your choice of entree. A few practical tips: the terrain is steep, so be prepared for some walking, but the staff is always ready to assist with golf cart rides and also help with luggage. Also, if driving, opt for a suv because the road to get there is rough. Overall, Casa Chameleon exceeded all expectations!!

This resort is one of the most magical places I’ve stayed at. The view, the food, and especially the people were beyond our expectations! My husband and I stayed for 6 nights to celebrate our honeymoon and i wouldn’t have wished to have spent my honeymoon anywhere else! The customer service is exceptional at casa chameleon, anything you want it’s at your door with no trouble what so ever. The views from each villa is gorgeous! You even have a shower w glass doors that overlook the pool and the beautiful ocean. Theres a town down the street that you can ask the staff to drive u to and when you’re done all you have to do is sent a text to the front desk and someone’s already on their way to pick you up and bring you back to the resort. I couldn’t recommend this place more, especially for couples looking to relax and soak up the sun and beautiful views from your own private plunge pool❤️

Fantastisk hotel på en liten topp med utsikt over landsbyen nedenfor og horisonten ut mot stillehavet. Dette er et stilfult hotell med villaer som virkelig innbyr til luksus! Hotellet var for oss en opplevelse av at de har disse fasilitetene mens service og de små tingene ikke var helt på topp. Det tok lang tid ved måltider og ved frokost fikk vi for eksempel ikke etterfylt vann eller kaffe uten å spørre. Rommet vårt ble heller ikke rengjort den ene dagen, før vi spurte om dette kl 15 (vi hadde hengt ut "please clean" ca 9.45). Dette er virkelig små ting, men vi opplevde at langt billigere steder på vår ferie leverte en høyere standard på service og at det her virket mer til at de levde mer på sin lokasjon enn totalopplevelse.

This was our 3rd time staying at Casa Chameleon. Our 3rd visit did not disappoint. The setting is so beautiful. Having a private pool is a delight. We loved our breakfasts every morning. The staff were eager to please , friendly, and attuned to our needs. It was truly concierge service. Anything my wife and I needed materialized by sending a text on What’sApp. This was truly a rejuvenating experience! I/we loved Casa Chameleon!

My husband and I just returned from Casa Chameleon Hotel and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the privacy of our villa set the tone for the whole stay, our own infinity plunge pool right outside the room, with breathtaking sweeping views over the Pacific. The service was superb from start to finish - attentive without ever being intrusive, exactly what you want on a romantic getaway. Every staff member seemed genuinely invested in making our stay special. We ate at Sentido Norte, the open-air restaurant overlooking the ocean, and every single meal delivered. Best burger I’ve ever! The ceviche was incredible, so fresh and perfectly balanced. And the drinks were perfecto, every time. This was one of the most relaxing, romantic trips we’ve taken. Between the view, the privacy of our own pool, and the impeccable service and food, Casa Chameleon set a new bar. We’ll absolutely be back.
