I had booked two separate suites. One for the first two nights and another for the second two nights. The staff were extremely accommodating in arranging the switch so that we weren’t having to check out at 10 AM and check back in at 4 PM. All of the staff were extremely friendly, including maintenance, housekeeping, and front desk. The only unfortunate thing was that the pool deck was being worked on during our stay, but we were able to use the pool next door. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a fantastic hotel. I got a two bedroom suite with full kitchen for an excellent price for two nights (4 adults). They have a heated pool (the front desk person said they have people swimming all year around!) and a hot tub. The room was spacious, with an electric fireplace in the main room and tvs in all the rooms.

Wonderful stay, at a very reasonable price. Staff are so friendly and gave lots of tips on coffee shops, restaurants and things to do. Great amenities room, room was roomy with kitchen and view. The pool was not open, but we were directed to the sister company next door where we enjoyed the pool and hot tub (in the snow!). Would come again most definitely when in area!

Easy walk to local restaurants. Nice ocean side walkway. Heated outdoor pool and hot tub. Friendly staff. King bed mattress could be replaced. Some music noise at night.

We stayed at Raintree’s Sandcastle and had a mixed experience. The staff was exceptional. The were consistently friendly, helpful, and really the highlight of the stay. Unfortunately, the room itself didn’t live up to the same standard. There was no air conditioning, and with temps in the high 70s, the room got uncomfortably hot. The fireplace pilot light, which you can’t shut off, added to the heat. We had to keep windows open just to cool things down, and it didn’t really help until late at night. The bathroom wasn’t great. We had very low water pressure, and the tub didn’t drain, which made for a gross shower experience. The TV was tiny and outdated, not ideal if you're planning to relax in the room. The kitchen was a plus. It was well stocked with cookware, dishes, and utensils, which made it easy to prep meals without issues. Just be aware: this is a timeshare property, and it feels like Expedia rents out the units when owners aren’t using them. That’s fine, but it explains the odd mix of condo and hotel vibes.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sand Castle. We had a big room with a great view. It's across the street from the water and the sunsets were beautiful. The employees were friendly and helpful. I wish they had daily cleaning. I'm not sure why they don't. We were switching out our towels and taking out our garbage. Part of a great vacation is getting away from that. It was really nice to have a kitchen, but the handle on the oven was broken and the microwave vent fell off. The carpets could use a good cleaning. But overall, I would stay there again!

Nice resort style hotel. Room was large and was set up like a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo. It had a full kitchen with full size appliances, fully stocked with dishes, including pots and pans. The beds were very comfortable with nice bedding on perfect mattresses, including multiple super awesome pillows and fluffy comforters. There were 2 full bathrooms. There was also a stack washer/dryer in a closet in the hallway. There is an outside heated pool and hot tub that are open year-round. I didn't use either of them, but other guests were using them even though it was a bit cool outside. There was an amazing view of Birch Bay from the room. Multiple restaurants are within walking distance and the beach is across the street.

We stayed in a penthouse suite and it was great! Lots of space, amazing view of the bay, very comfortable. We were able to play cards outside in our little porch while watching whales spout and even had an eagle fly over! Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay and we felt pampered. Definitely putting this on our "going there again" list!

The room is older in its aesthetic, but it’s roomy enough, the bedding and pillows are so comfortable. The view from our room wasn’t great (parking lot) and we were right above the trash area, so when we had our window open, we could hear the people tossing trash (sometimes very loudly) but it wasn’t a deal breaker. The staff made up for that, so kind, attentive, and awesome. Would recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Raintree’s Sandcastle in Birch Bay, conveniently located right across from the beach. Our two-bedroom room was incredibly comfortable, featuring a well-stocked kitchen and laundry facilities, along with two bathrooms and a large living dining area. The space was ample enough to comfortably accommodate a family of six. While the room was well-appointed, the lack of in-room air conditioning was a bit of a drawback. Thankfully, the ceiling fans and portable fan provided some relief from the heat. The hotel’s pool area was delightful and well-maintained, making for a perfect spot to relax. The food options available during the summer were varied and satisfying. The staff at the hotel was exceptionally friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. Despite the minor inconvenience with the air conditioning, our stay was thoroughly enjoyable, and we definitely plan to return in the future. Great location, helpful staff. The hotel is centrally located in Birch Bay so everything you want is within walking distance. Beach Cat Brewery and The Beach bar are right beside the hotel for great eats, beverages and live music. The beach is literally across the street. Our one bedroom suite was large and had a full, well equipped kitchen with partial ocean view. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful weekend! The hotel is clean and the staff was great. We loved that it was right across from the beach, close to restaurants and had a pool. We will definitely be back!

Great location across the road from the beach as well as local restaurants all within walking distance. Town closes down at 10pm so quiet at night. Would be nice if there was a propain fire table on the balcony.

Really enjoyed our stay here. It is very family oriented so if you prefer not having kids playing and enjoying themselves- avoid. We were an older couple and wish we could have had our grandchildren with us. Staff is very nice. Coffee is served in the lobby from 7 to noon. Breakfast is not provided. Our space had a full kitchen so we were just fine - eating in or out when we wanted. From what I understand, this is a timeshare facility and spaces open up when owners cancel their available time. The biggest complement I could give - we would go back if not on the opposite coast.

The staff was welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. We enjoyed our very clean room with lots of towels. The complimentary movies, popcorn and coffee in our room were very enjoyable. Oh, and a dinner coupon for our favorite place next door! We will certainly be looking forward to coming back again.

Beautiful location right across from the beach. Amazing sunsets. We got a great deal on a penthouse suite! You do have to pay for wifi if you are not a member. Limited dining options but full kitchenette so bring your cooler of food to make. Pool+Hottub+Fitness center also.

This place is so much fun! Excellent location! Good price. Lots of fun extra in the clubhouse upstairs- puzzles, games, bbq, amazing views, etc. room was huge and so nice! Loved that the kitchen was stocked.

My first impression was Sunnie at the reception desk was so friendly! It turns out all the staff were very friendly and more than happy to help with any questions we had. We reserved a two bedroom unit .We found that the King bed was very comfortable. I read from other reviews that the furniture and decor were a little dated but we didn’t mind at all. The unit was very spacious and clean. Very homey The first night we had dinner in our unit and the kitchen was well equipped .We then enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. Then it was back to the rooftop patio to enjoy a fantastic sunset Restaurants are an easy stroll away. Good food at a reasonable price. we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it We were fortunate and had a sunny and warm weekend so we enjoyed our small deck for morning coffee. In the afternoon I took my glass of wine up to the rooftop patio and enjoyed the amazing views of the ocean and basked in the sun. There was even a whale spouting off in the distancet

Our two-bedroom room was incredibly comfortable, featuring a well-stocked kitchen and laundry facilities, along with two bathrooms and a large living dining area. The space was ample enough to comfortably accommodate a family of six. While the room was well-appointed, the lack of in-room air conditioning was a bit of a drawback. Thankfully, the ceiling fans and portable fan provided some relief from the heat. The hotel’s pool area was delightful and well-maintained, making for a perfect spot to relax. The food options available during the summer were varied and satisfying. The staff at the hotel was exceptionally friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. Despite the minor inconvenience with the air conditioning, our stay was thoroughly enjoyable, and we definitely plan to return in the future. Love this property! Location location location. Rooms are cozy. And spacious. I do wish they had shampoo and conditioner in rooms. The tiny container of conditioning shampoo is not great quality.

I would give them a higher rating if the actual place was depicted online, with the address listed correctly. It is not located in Blaine. It is in Birch Bay. There is no large sign stating Sand Castle out front. This is a condo building which I drove passed, circled around trying to find a hotel in Blaine, which of course doesn't exist. When I pulled into the parking lot of the condo, where the front door does not face the street, there was a small plaque with the name. I still wasn't sure I had the right place, so went in and asked the front desk clerk if there was a reservation in my name and when she said yes, I briefly expressed my relief and frustration with the location information provided but she just looked at me blankly. No acknowledgement, and she seemingly didn't care. The unit was clean but needs some updating and TLC.
