A very welcoming hotel with friendly and helpful staff . All areas are spotless and rooms spacious and comfortable. The grounds are immaculate and there is one heated pool . Very much appreciated in the winter months ! The hotel is in a convenient position with a short downward walk into Funchal and also benefits from certain areas within The Savoy Palace . Breakfasts delicious .. I could not fault this hotel and would definitely recommend. We will return !

We stayed here for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! Great location, loved being able to jump into the ocean from the platform. The staff was so friendly. Walking distance to the center of Funchal with so many dining and shopping options. Will definitely return.

Hi the Royal Savoy was a lovely hotel with many facilities and many pools and an inside one and the staff were so friendly and helpful we will definitely be going back to that hotel but this time it will be more than a few days

Beautiful 5 star property in beautiful Funchal. Ocean views several swimming pools including access to swimming in the ocean. Friendly staff made this a home away from home.

We loved every moment of our stay at The Royal Savoy. The staff were very efficient, friendly, helpful and attentive. The room was very comfortable and a delight with spectacular views. Room amenities, and bathroom were excellent - always brilliantly cleaned and refreshed by the excellent team. Breakfast was excellent with a huge selection of foods on offer to satisfy any requirement. Special mention to the lady who cooks fresh eggs on demand, in whatever style required. Dining in the evening was excellent. Location is excellent - Funchal old town was only a short beautiful walk away. Many many restaurants available within walking distance - in our experience, it would be difficult to get a bad meal anywhere. The Spa as excellent, a facial treatment there was superb - great attention, good quality products, un-rushed and very relaxing. Leisure facilities were excellent with outdoor and indoor pools, gym and the sea. Everything at this hotel is kept to a very high standard. One the best stays that we have ever had - very highly recommended.

Absolutely lovely property and kind staff. Rooms were spacious, amazing views, and pool facilities and grounds are beautiful and clean. The food was great for a resort as well. AC not the best (rooms end up super humid) but otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

A truly great hotel and good value. One of the reasons I selected it - and one of the features I really liked - is that they provide the option to swim in multiple outdoor pools and also access a protected area in the sea immediately adjacent to the outdoor pools. It's wonderful to swim in the sea and the water there is relatively warm.

Great service, great staff and very close to the city. Very tasty breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and made to order eggs. Large pool area, with one heated pool and access to the sea. The gym could have been larger / more equipment, but otherwise everything 5⭐️ Would be happy to return.

The location is excellent for both the town and restaurants around the Lido area. Everything went well and we enjoyed the hotel. After 5 visits to Funchal over the last 5 years it was probably the best that we have stayed at. The hotel is quite old, but well maintained. It is starting to show its age, with small defects, that didn’t affect the stay but are noticeable. The room had a kitchenette which was very useful.

Great hotel, nice and quiet as a lot of the clientele are older retirees and repeat customers. Hotel is clean and the junior suite we stayed in was very nice. Having stayed in the savoy palace previously I can say they are both very different hotels but both are excellent.

Stayed at the hotel from May 26 to June 1 and had a wonderful time. Check in was easy and our room was ready with a nice welcome fruit basket. We appreciated the personalized touch. Each day our room was cleaned, towels restocked, as well as bottled water. There was lots of selection for breakfast. All the staff were very kind and welcoming Thank you Royal Savoy for making our first trip to Madeira memorable.

This place was ideal for us as first timers to Madeira Island and Funchal! Cant elaborate enough how beautiful the location of the hotel was with regards ru the water. Leaving the hotel allowed us to walk to a number of fine dining options. With kids, we chose to hop in our car and explore the bulk of Funchal and the main attractions but we were definitely within walking distance. The hotel is slightly dated, but our room was spacious and kept tidy the entire time. The hospitality and concierge were all great. We did not dine on the property so not sure how to rate that but LOVED the location overall

The Royal Savoy is right on the ocean, so views are beautiful. The pool area is nice and they also have an indoor pool which was great as we were there in March. Our room was spacious with a nice decor. You can walk into the heart of Funchal which has many wonderful restaurants and sights to see.

Had a great stay here for our honeymoon. Reception is great and the facilities are nice. AC is a bit lacking and the bathrooms are more outdated, but everything else was great for us.

Very much appreciated in the winter months ! The hotel is in a convenient position with a short downward walk into Funchal and also benefits from certain areas within The Savoy Palace . Breakfasts delicious .. I could not fault this hotel and would definitely recommend. We will return !

We loved every moment of our stay at The Royal Savoy. The staff were very efficient, friendly, helpful and attentive. The room was very comfortable and a delight with spectacular views. Room amenities, and bathroom were excellent - always brilliantly cleaned and refreshed by the excellent team. Breakfast was excellent with a huge selection of foods on offer to satisfy any requirement. Special mention to the lady who cooks fresh eggs on demand, in whatever style required. Dining in the evening was excellent. Location is excellent - Funchal old town was only a short beautiful walk away. Many many restaurants available within walking distance - in our experience, it would be difficult to get a bad meal anywhere. The Spa as excellent, a facial treatment there was superb - great attention, good quality products, un-rushed and very relaxing. Leisure facilities were excellent with outdoor and indoor pools, gym and the sea. Everything at this hotel is kept to a very high standard. Stayed at the hotel from May 26 to June 1 and had a wonderful time. Check in was easy and our room was ready with a nice welcome fruit basket. We appreciated the personalized touch. Each day our room was cleaned, towels restocked, as well as bottled water. There was lots of selection for breakfast. All the staff were very kind and welcoming Thank you Royal Savoy for making our first trip to Madeira memorable.

Great service, great staff and very close to the city. Very tasty breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and made to order eggs. Large pool area, with one heated pool and access to the sea. The gym could have been larger / more equipment, but otherwise everything 5⭐️ Would be happy to return.

The location is excellent for both the town and restaurants around the Lido area. Everything went well and we enjoyed the hotel. After 5 visits to Funchal over the last 5 years it was probably the best that we have stayed at. The hotel is quite old, but well maintained. It is starting to show its age, with small defects, that didn’t affect the stay but are noticeable. The room had a kitchenette which was very useful.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! Great location, loved being able to jump into the ocean from the platform. The staff was so friendly. Walking distance to the center of Funchal with so many dining and shopping options. Will definitely return.

The Royal Savoy is right on the ocean, so views are beautiful. The pool area is nice and they also have an indoor pool which was great as we were there in March. Our room was spacious with a nice decor. You can walk into the heart of Funchal which has many wonderful restaurants and sights to see.

Had a fantastic few nights here. About 10-15 minutes walk into the centre, plenty of good places to eat nearby & restaurant onsite. The hotel was stunning & the staff were incredibly friendly & helpful. Plenty of space to lounge outside & a choice of pools. Would happily stay here again.

Generally a great experience. Though I must say not a children family kind of hotel. The client target is within elderly fussy people. The restaurant is to pretentious for a children family. The menu doesn't really have children's kind of food and you feel quite uncomfortable with all the elderly guests looking rather disturbed by your noisy naughty little ones.. But apart from that, the hotel looks great and swimming pools are great!

Overall, we liked it. The pool areas, swimming in the ocean, food and drinks were great. Same for the staff, always friendly and helpful. Royal Savoy is marketed as a 5 star hotel. It probably is more like a 4 star though how do they compare to other 5 star offerings inMadeira? It is getting close to needing a facelift. We had a junior suite. Largest patio I have ever had. It had a small kitchen area but no coffee maker or stuffed fridge. You have to look for power outlets as there are none around the bed or desk, wifi bumpy now and then but you're not staying there to be online...rather to be offline and enjoy what Madeira has to offer. Location is great. We walked every day to the city center some 15 minutes or so away. You don't need an Uber or Taxi unless you have limited ability to walk a bit. Lots of tourist choices and Madeira is a very beautiful island. You will not forget your trip!
