Home2 Suites by Hilton Florida City, FL

Place was clean. Room was a studio king and was very clean and spacious. Hot breakfast was breakfast sandwhiches and cheese omlets, both were terrible so we mostly had yogurt and cereal. We stayed 1 night on our way to southern Florida with our kids and we plan to go into the pool after a long drive. We bring the kids to swim and after they get in for a couple mins, we are told by staff the pool closes at 8pm. Which it is already 8p at that time. We point out that the 2 signs located there at the pool, the property listing on Expedia, and also the hotels website ALL say it closes at 10pm. We are told that the management has changed the time to 8pm. For a family checking in, unpacking, finding dinner in the area, etc. Closing at 8pm doesn't give you much time to swim and at the very least the updated closing time should have been reflected in 1 of those 4 posted areas. We specifically booked a hotel with a pool that would be open late for the kids to enjoy a nice swim after a long car ride. Management should accurately reflect what they offer and what time these offerings are available, otherwise it's false advertising.

We had a very good stay at this hotel.We stayed here because they are dog friendly. There was a sign indicating furry friends would get small amenties, but I never received anything throughout my 5 night stay for my dogs. The breakfast was very good. Items featured were sandwiches, kettle oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, yogurts with an excellent fixing bar, waffles irons. I was pleased with the quality of food offerings. Our room was spacious and well-equipt. The pull out bed, however, was awful! The mattress was so thin. The bar was in my back which resulted in an uncomfortable sleep. The pool area was so pretty and allowed for good tanning. The only issue, and it can be a huge one for some families, is that the pool hours are from 8 am-7 pm. Too late of an open time and too early of a close time. Within the patio area were two gas bbq grills. They were clean and newer looking so we took advantage and grilled steaks one night. The gym is open 24 hours and has some free weights, univetsal machine, a very good amount of cardio machines and a Peloton spin cycle. Within the gym was a small laundromat. Each machine was $3. I always saw someone cleaning, so on the surface rhings were clean, but the place is in need of a deep clean. Many common area carpets had stains. Front desk staff were polite, but never overly friendly. My advice to the hotel: indicate a dog relief area and offer a bag station; use real plates and silverware to cut down on one time use paper and plastic products

The hotel was nice and service was good but it only had 1 of 2 elevators working. Which means it took forever to catch an elevator. The staff was using the elevator as well so there were times you couldn’t even get on the elevator. There was no range to cook on, only 2 microwaves. So a little disappointed.

Loved the location for easy access to Everglades and Biscayne parks, the Keys, and plenty of dining options close enough to walk. Staff were friendly. Computers didn’t work, which was a problem for my college student. Breakfast was good, but protein choices were limited and we didn’t like the taco flavored sausage. Overall, we were very happy there.

This hotel was our homebase for visiting Everglades NP & Biscayne NP. It was a great location between the two parks. It was within walking distance to a couple of restaurants and close to convenience store for needed supplies. The room was spacious and comfortable! It fit our family very well. The breakfast eating area was pretty small, so not a lot of room to eat, but there weren’t a lot of other guests there, so it was fine for us. The only bad things I could say about the place is that it’s kind of in an industrial part of town & the computers weren’t working. Doesn’t help when you need to print something. Luckily a staff member let me email her the document & printed it for me! Many thanks to Emma for that!!

Service was great, my only complaint is that pool was out of service for part of our stay.

Dryer wasn’t working properly and the young lady on the desk was so responsive / taking my wet clothes and drying them in hotel dryer ! She worked tirelessly to be sure I was accommodated !

Average breakfast. Fair selection but terrible design and non efficient layout. Long wait to eat ….felt very crowded just because of the inefficient design. Constantly running out of practically everything. Eventually would get restocked but seemed like you just had to stand and wait for half the menu items. Comfortable beds. Modern design. Felt like the building was understaffed overall. Only one elevator working so to avoid the long wait we ended taking the stairs to our 4th floor most of the time. Nice fitness facilities. Nice to have complimentary washer and driers but not always available as there were only 2 of each the room was in very dirty condition

Pool closed at 8pm, that was early. Hallways and lobby were hot and had a moldy smell. The rooms were a decent size and clean. Shower water pressure was lacking.

The property common areas and rooms show signs of wear and a lack of maintenance. The lobby seating area had multiple stains on the seat cushions, the hallway walls leading to our room were all marked up from from luggage and carts. The hallway also didn't smell clean and had a unusual odor. Our room was clean overall but the bathroom shower and tub fixtures were all loose. Upon check in, the staff was okay, but didn't seem very enthusiastic for arriving guests. We would probably look elsewhere if we were in the area agian

There were roaches everywhere! We could not stay and wouldn’t dare to eat there!

Clean lobby with coffee and refreshments. clean hallways and exercise room. I'll stay there again when in the area.

Everything was good except the room smelled like dog piss. Make an effort to use bleach or something.

Everything was good except that I had to kill a cockroach that was walking on the bedroom wall. The hotel needs to fumigate to eliminate pests.

We had an extremely disappointing and uncomfortable stay at this property. Our room was truly unacceptable from the moment we walked in. The sofa was visibly stained with what appeared to be dog urine, and there were what looked like blood stains on the lamp—completely unsanitary and disturbing. I’ve included photos for reference because this level of neglect is inexcusable. To make matters worse, we were placed in a ground-floor room, and all night long, people were congregating in the parking lot directly outside our window, talking loudly well into the early morning hours. There seemed to be no management presence or enforcement of quiet hours. I understand pet-friendly accommodations and late-night check-ins, but cleanliness and guest safety should never be compromised. This was not just disappointing—it was unacceptable. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses both the cleanliness standards and the lack of overnight supervision on the property.

The rooms were very spacious and clean!

I reserved a King and was put in a room with two beds. The people that in the room next door was fighting most of the night. The bed was extremely hard. Very disappointed.

AAAAAAAA Nice hotel. Great place to stay. Horrible wifi !!! Really pathetic for such a nice hotel. Also, having music in the speakers outside of the rooms windows between the 1st and 2nd floors 24 hors a day. They won't allow you to sleep. Horrible !!!

This location seemed to be subpar compared to most other Home2 Suites we’ve stayed at: - Overall facility needs a face lift. Rooms are dark. Still using old compact fluorescent bulbs instead of brighter LED bulbs. -Breakfast was disappointing, especially compared to the many other Home2 Suites we’ve stayed at. The only meat was in the prepackaged microwaved rubbery breakfast sandwich. If you want a waffle, there was no protein to go with it, so it’s mostly an all carb meal. It seemed like the hotel was still in the COVID era with all the prepackaged item. - The rooms smelled bad. We had to change rooms because of the horrible smell. Probably pet urine from this pet-friendly hotel. The room itself was nice and spacious.

Excellent hotel, great customer service but with a pathetic Wifi !!!! 4 Mbps !!!!, nothing can be done and forget about streaming. Also, music 24 hours running under the windows of the second floor rooms. It won't let you sleep. I asked the manager and AM and they both said nothing can be done to turn it off or even to lower the volume during the night, a complete joke !!!! Very nice place but this two deal breakers. Thank you.

Not so good, one of the older Home 2Suites we’ve stayed in. Wallpaper peeling in the bathroom. Burnt orange paint in hallways was uninviting and scratched up. We left prescriptions in a drawer and haven’t heard from management.

The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Loved the room layout and space.We had issues with the bathroom doors not being operable. They both would stick on the floor. We had to close the main door completely and enter through the bedroom door which also stuck after halfway open. The floor behind the door was dirty because the housekeeping staff couldn't operate the door.

The staff was great and so was the property around. The cleanliness of the rooms was great. The bathroom especially the shower stall could used some modernization as the water leaked into the bathroom.

The sink drain did not work properly so the water would not go down. The air conditioning in the room also did not work correctly.

The bed was extremely hard, pillows were lumpy and unsupportive, the noise from people walking around the upstairs room was so loud.

I was given a room at 5th floor and I arrived late like 11pm. Front clerk activated card 3 times with 3 round trips from 5th floor to front desk and it never worked. This took me about 30min or so. Eventually, he came up like after 20mins later and opened the door with master key. I entered the room after midnight. He apologized and recommended me to talk to manager and ask for compensation or full refund. I talked to fron desk in the morning and he said manager is busy and arrives like 11am and I left my number to be called and I never got a call. I complained to Hotels.com and they tried to reach out to hotel for explanation. Few days later, hotel is not responding. They offered me $25 discount. At this point, with this type of customer service, I will dispute this charge. I was almost booking another hotel there right at front desk arrived to open the door. Terrible!!!

It was within walking distance to a couple of restaurants and close to convenience store for needed supplies. The room was spacious and comfortable! It fit our family very well. The breakfast eating area was pretty small, so not a lot of room to eat, but there weren’t a lot of other guests there, so it was fine for us. The only bad things I could say about the place is that it’s kind of in an industrial part of town & the computers weren’t working. Doesn’t help when you need to print something. Luckily a staff member let me email her the document & printed it for me! Many thanks to Emma for that!!

Staff was great!

Had to complain 3 times about toilet not working properly. On the third time one individual who identified himself as a manager took exception, got in my personal space and acted like he was going to assault me. Another individual who identified himself as a General manager appeared and took charge, situation was resolved. I have never had a hotel employee get aggressive in this way. Will have reservations before booking another Hilton property.

The staff were very helpful when we forgot an item at the hotel and they helped ship it back home to us! Appreciated that!

Arrived late around 1am. Nobody at front desk. Sign posted to call a number that was not in service. Finally walked around to back office to find the one staff member to check us in. Not very welcoming.

The staff was not very happy or pleasant… not rude, just kinda there. There was a leak in our room that my husband went down to inform them about, all they said was “oh wow another one”

I was greeted immediately by Monique, who also gave me a courtesy call after check in to see if I needed anything. The room is set up well, whether it’s for one night or an extended stay. They have a sidewalk and good lighting around the entire perimeter of the building so I felt comfortable walking my dog at night.

Made a reservation for a one bedroom king suite and they didn't have any when we checked in. After dark we went to look for something to eat, nothing open and what was open I felt very unsafe.

Easy access to this hotel if you are traveling To the keys and convenient restaurants aside it. Clean, quiet, friendly staff….would definitely stay again

Bit worried before we came with some previous reviews but it was excellent. We stayed for 3 weeks and used it as a base for shopping and outings to the Everglades and the Keys. Staff were excellent and our room was just what we wanted for a longer stay. Breakfast was fairly simple but still had enough so you didn't get bored day to day. The gym although fairly basic was better than some real Hiltons I have stayed at. The laundry room was well equipped and we used it several times. Pool was clean and we lounged there many times. The surrounding area had lots of eating options within walking distance and grocery store choices. Overall an excellent stay and I would recommend it.

Good sized room for family, with great staff to provide an easy registration process and advice on the hotel/local area The hotel is across the road from the Florida City outlet stores too.

Well located for restaurants and businesses nearby and for exploring national parks.

I think this hotel is in the best location for traveling to major tourist destinations such as Key West and Everglades National Park. Another advantage is that convenience facilities such as outlets, Starbucks, and Walmart are located close to the hotel.

Easy access to the everglades and transition from/to the keys. The a/c in the room was nice and cold after being out in the heat all day. Breakfast was simple, but there was a nice addition of pre-made breakfast sandwiches.

Great having a place comfortable, clean place to rest overnight. Having a place to park boat on the way to the keys was a huge binus. Only down side was the awful breakfast..

The hotel is upper mid range. The room was clean. The kitchen is a bit misleading as you don’t have a way to cook other than a microwave. You can get a cooktop and pans from the desk. The room is sufficient and it is nice to be able to pull the curtain to separate the bed from the sofa. The breakfast is on the low end of options. It was the same every day and no fresh fruit ever.

The property was clean, comfortable and convenient. The breakfast was totally carb heavy. Hardboiled eggs the only option for me. I have an alpha-gal allergy (meat allergy) and the options for food was super limited. I had a yogurt and hard boiled egg each morning. It was disappointing. My husband was able to have the Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich and yogurt, but I was limited.

Would like a few more options at breakfast

Room was large and clean. The only real complaint was breakfast. I wouldn’t count on it to feed you or your family, they were always out of everything. Even if you were down in the middle of it there was never sandwiches or yogurts left.
