Very memorable single night stay in this beautiful property. Delicious dinner in the Cozinha da Clara restaurant. We loved the winery tour at 6pm and enjoyed walking among the vines the next morning.

Wow. What an amazing Quinta with picture perfect views. We had no idea how much we’d love staying on this property and only wish we could’ve stayed another day (at least) instead of just two nights. The vastness of wine country, the beauty of the perfectly planned vineyards, and the flowing river was easily appreciated from the two windows in our river front room, the terrace during breakfast, Tim’s Terrace for a delightful lunch, or the 24 hour outdoor pool where you can easily unwind. The staff are all kind. Shout out to Sara, who gave us and another couple a great tour of the winery. Be sure to book this if you stay here to get a lesson on port making and the history of the vineyard. The tasting in the cellar was a highlight of the stay. Dinner at the restaurant was tasty and convenient since dining options in Pinhão are limited (make reservations!) and the breakfast buffet was perfect. We were able to walk to our boat tour, Carvalhas and then to Bomfim and back but caution…it’s a dark walk back so you’ll need to use your phone’s flashlight. This was a better option for us rather than worrying about losing our parking spot right outside of our room. Yes, parking is tight but totally doable. While this property has a long history, the reception, restaurant, and tasting room are modern and the facilities and amenities are great. Heads up, lots of wasps, flies and a few mosquitoes being so close to the river, so be mindful when you’re eating on the terrace. Book this trip!

Simply beautiful property, accomodation well designed and to a high standard, spotlessly clean. Wonderful views, lovely small swimming pool, gorgeous grounds that are well maintained. Loved the wine tasting experience and the complimentary guide to the winery which was very interesting. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant one night and enjoyed eating out on Tim’s Terrace early evening in the sun with beautiful views of the river. Be mindful that depending on which accomodation booked you may have a bit of a walk from the main reception and parts are quite steep. You are reminded in the booking information it is not a hotel therefore to be aware not all hotel services are available. Notwithstanding it is a fabulous place and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there, highly recommend it.

Spectacular winery/hotel/restaurant perched high on the banks of the Douro just five minutes outside of Pinhao. Parking a challenge, but beautiful, spacious, well-appointed rooms. Lovely refreshing pool just outside our room. Formal and informal restaurants provided exceptional meals-delicious food, excellent service, lovely wines for lunch and dinner; very complete and tasty breakfast buffet. Wine tour and tasting very informative and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and return

The quality of everything here exceeded our expectations. We assumed it was just a working winery. It's that and so much more. Luxurious accommodations, beautiful grounds, multiple swimming pools, upscale restaurant. We did a couple of tours, both vineyard and winery with tasting. Both were very well done. Highly recommend.

Stunning views, excellent tour of the winery and tasting, the in house restaurant is superb. Rooms were spotless and the pool has the most mesmerising view of the Douro. Tim’s Terrace serves great light bites and drinks. My new favourite drink is now white port and tonic! Highly recommend!

The property is set in a beautiful location along the river, with a nice pool, vineyard and nice restaurant. The quality of the food in both restaurants was great, and staff friendly. There is no TV in the spacious rooms, which was a nice touch and added to the enjoyment of the property. The only downside was the limited opening hours of the bar and restaurant, and having to pre-plan all your meals.

beautiful property 15 minute walk from pinhao. Wonderful restaurants on site. If you need a taxi seems to be difficult to get and we had to walk there. Staff booked taxi for the next day to get back to pinhao but were reluctant to do so - suggested we call them!!

Beautiful place to stay, the bedroom is comfortable. I liked that they had a big and small pool (had the smallest for myself during my whole stay).

Hébergement tout simplement incroyable. Chambre confortable, spacieuse, propre et fonctionnelle avec une spectaculaire vue sur le fleuve Douro et ses montages de vignes. Et que dire de notre petit balcon, très charmant. Bel emplacement, à quelques minutes en voiture de plusieurs Quinta. Déjeuner gourmand et de qualité. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié aller souper au restaurant situé sur le site à quelques pas de notre chambre. Quelle belle piscine avec sa vue sur le Douro et les vignes.

Our stay was very pleasant with an awesome view to both Douro river and the town of Pinhao. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the sheets are changed everyday. The room includes pool towels and robes. The food at their restaurante is also very delicious.

We had a fabulous stay! The room was stylish and comfortable, spotlessly clean with a romantic view overlooking the river. We ate both nights at the restaurant and the food and wine were both terrific. The included breakfast was a nice bonus. Highly recommend!

Lovely view from our room, quiet (and large!). We stayed one night in March, so we weren't able to use the pool or patio but I imagine it would be close to perfect. Know that there isn't a 24-hour desk...this is not a large hotel...and plan the early checkout accordingly. A quick walk to the boat docks and little town.

It was very beautiful, about a 20 min walk into the main town. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The furniture was a bit dated but overall it was clean and maintained well. Pool was stunning! Complimentary wine cellar tour for guests was nice, but the breakfast was truly amazing. Loved it!
It was very beautiful, about a 20 min walk into the main town. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The furniture was a bit dated but overall it was clean and maintained well. Pool was stunning! Complimentary wine cellar tour for guests was nice, but the breakfast was truly amazing. Loved it!

Our stay was very pleasant with an awesome view to both Douro river and the town of Pinhao. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the sheets are changed everyday. The room includes pool towels and robes. The food at their restaurante is also very delicious.

The property is set in a beautiful location along the river, with a nice pool, vineyard and nice restaurant. The quality of the food in both restaurants was great, and staff friendly. There is no TV in the spacious rooms, which was a nice touch and added to the enjoyment of the property. The only downside was the limited opening hours of the bar and restaurant, and having to pre-plan all your meals.

Our stay at Quinta de La Rosa was absolutely perfect. First of all, the property is beautiful. The rooms are large and have everything you need, including complimentary craft beers. The restaurant was one of the best we had in Portugal with the best red wine I’ve had. Their complimentary breakfast was also amazing. We had to leave early before breakfast on our last day and they offered to give us take home breakfast which I’ve never experienced at any other hotel. 13/10 would definitely recommend!

The pictures on Expedia and their website do not do justice to this place. It is a very impressive working winery and the rooms are well appointed. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were excellent though service was mixed when it was busy. My only complaint is that the ‘smoking area’ for diners is close to the outdoor terrace and with the prevailing wind it meant that you could smell and taste the cigaretttes at that end of the terrace - not pleasant when you are not used to it. I heard a number of diners complain about it. (Please move the smoking area, as it would make a very good experience perfect!) I would also recommend the walks around the vineyards that are described in the information booklet - though the red route is very steep up, the views are worth it.

Hospedagem incrível. Única desvantagem é que a recepção fecha às 20h, porém, mesmo com atraso, devido a acidente na estrada, nos aguardaram e deu tudo certo.

Este es uno de los lugares más hermosos que he visto en mi vida. La comida es excelentísima, las personas del restaurante son muy amables, se esfuerzan mucho. En la recepción son más fríos, a excepción de Sara que fue muy, muy atenta y servicial. Recomiendo MUCHO este alojamiento.

Linda a Quinta. Atendimento acolhedor e impecável. Restaurante delicioso para refeições e ainda uma outra opção de pizzas e sanduíches com uma burrada deliciosa. Não dá vontade de sair! Fizemos visita à vinícola, degustações de vinhos de mesa e do Porto especiais. Espaço com piscina com espreguiçadeiras com vista para o Douro. Cuidado com os detalhes no quarto muro limpo e bem decorado. Amamos a Quinta de la Rosa!

In a stunning situation just over a mile walk from Pinhao town centre, a gentle uphill gradient on the way back. Many of the rooms are in the separate Amarela building, a 5 minute uphill walk from the main building over a cobbled road, difficult to pull a suitcase over. Absolutely lovely setting! The room was a nice size and had a lovely outdoor sitting area overlooking the river. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant was attractive. There were however, some things that could be improved. First, the walk to our room was somewhat strenuous with luggage in tow. This would not have been so bad if the staff member walking us to our room slowed down a bit when we started huffing and puffing to keep up. Next, there are not coffee makers in the rooms, just hot pots to boil water - you need to take the coffee pods provided to a local "living room" to make coffee. Information provided about the hours of operation for the wine store and Tim\'s Terrace were inconsistent across printed material and what we were told at check-in. We had planned to have a light, early dinner at the Terrace but after ordering our drinks, it started to drizzle and the place shut down immediately. This left no dining options other than the restaurant where we ate the night before. We didn\'t go back because the menu was not that extensive and our waiter was a bit inattentive. All in all, not a terrible experience but the little inconveniences stacked up over our time there.

Our stay was next to prefect… even the rainy weather couldn’t dampen our stay! Our room was beautiful with magnificent view of Douro…everywhere is like a storybook! We had dinner the 2 nights we stayed it was excellent. We did a wine tasting tour… tasting and learned so much! Quinta de la Rosa is only a short walk from town so we had a nice lunch in town and walk around! Prefect 2 nights!

Lovely view from our room, quiet (and large!). We stayed one night in March, so we weren't able to use the pool or patio but I imagine it would be close to perfect. Know that there isn't a 24-hour desk...this is not a large hotel...and plan the early checkout accordingly. A quick walk to the boat docks and little town.

Chambre et salle de bain sobre mais tout l équipement est présent. Petits déjeuners divins. Une vue magnifique sur le Douro au réveil et pendant les repas. Restaurant haut de gamme mais un peu cher. Le négatif : tout est en portugais ou anglais. Pour la visite guidée c'est compliqué. Le stationnement est complexe du à la topologie du lieu. Je recommande ce lieu.

Our stay here was wonderful! It was idyllic and the property was incredibly charming and romantic. The views could not be beat and the proximity to town was very convenient because we did not have a car. Would highly recommend.

Pictures of the property in expedia does not make justice of the beautiful place and surroundings. All rooms face the amazing Douro River. Waking up and opening the windows for the sun to come in with the river view was priceless. The nights are so peaceful and quiet. Friends and families stayed with us and loved as well. Strongly recommended if staying overnight in Pinhão - Douro Valley

This was my 3rd time staying at QdLR, yet I think this is my first review of the property(?). This is a solid gem in Pinhão. Although about 0.5 km from the town, the location means it is quiet. Wonderful, spacious room, excellent restaurant, and scrumptious breakfast, not to mention great wines and ports from the on-site winery. I had the trip from hell to get here and arrived late. They made certain I had dinner available and had a bottle of wine waiting in my room. They took great care of this weary traveler, which just enamored me even more with the place. Although my stay was barely over 14 hours, I will be back!

Very memorable single night stay in this beautiful property. Delicious dinner in the Cozinha da Clara restaurant. We loved the winery tour at 6pm and enjoyed walking among the vines the next morning.

Stayed for 3 nights and it was ok. Personal was friendly. The restaurant was quite expensive for the offered menu and I find it strange that we needed to pay an extra 50 euros for a wine trip I the same bodega.

The rooms are lovely with great views of the Douro. We did the tour of the cellars and tasting with the wonderful Patricia.It would have been nice to have comfy chairs by the windows n the room for the price paid tho. The restaurant is overpriced and was a big disappointment for the price paid. If you order starters, main, dessert and wine, expect to pay close to €200 a couple which is ridiculous. Cost of wine is triple what the retail price is which prohibited us from trying it. Seems like an odd decision by management when they should be promoting their products at a lesser mark up. Dinner experience tainted an otherwise nice stay. There is nothing to do in Pinhao aside from the boat tour also.

The property is amazing! Great location. Easy walking distance to Pinhao. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious! We ate dinner at the restaurant 2 of the 3 nights we stayed at the Quinta. The dinners were excellent.

Information provided about the hours of operation for the wine store and Tim\'s Terrace were inconsistent across printed material and what we were told at check-in. We had planned to have a light, early dinner at the Terrace but after ordering our drinks, it started to drizzle and the place shut down immediately. This left no dining options other than the restaurant where we ate the night before. We didn\'t go back because the menu was not that extensive and our waiter was a bit inattentive. All in all, not a terrible experience but the little inconveniences stacked up over our time there.

Overall, this is a beautiful and reliably well-run hotel. The setting is idyllic, though the tranquility is occasionally interrupted by a train passing nearby. The staff are extremely helpful, and everything is impeccably clean and well cared for — you really do get a very personal level of service. The breakfast buffet is fresh and delicious, with something to suit every taste. On a sunny day, the terrace is a wonderful spot to enjoy the stunning views alongside great food. One evening we dined at the hotel's own restaurant, Cozinha de Clara, and had a wonderful meal of traditional Portuguese dishes paired with excellent local wines. The layout of the property can feel a little confusing at first — the buildings are somewhat spread out, and, as the hotel itself notes, a reasonable level of fitness is helpful for getting from one area to another. The pool is on the smaller side, but perfectly adequate for cooling off when you want to. In short: would I recommend it? Absolutely — but don't expect an ultra-luxurious property packed with amenities. Instead, this is a rustic, peaceful retreat, ideal for relaxing, and centrally located for exploring the charming villages and, especially, the wineries of the surrounding area.

This is an excellent hotel on an outstanding property. With a few tweaks, it would be a top shelf resort in Duoro Valley—highlights: reception—informative, gracious, helpful & delish welcome drinks, the food, an incredible chef, we loved the included breakfast with options to add on dishes, rooms—ours was very well equipped, comfortable with a private terrace and semi private pool (Amarela section) There are many options at different price points. The views are stunning!! We enjoyed the onsite winery tour and tasting and learned a lot about how ports are made. We would’ve explored the neighboring town, but we did not wish to leave the property! Dinners were lively & delish. Only downside—service was up & down. Some servers were excellent while others were indifferent Apart from this (easily addressable) issue, the place is utterly charming and serene!!!
