Our 3rd visit. Staff very good my only disappointment was I had booked 2 rooms for 2 days. When I booked it was free parking since my booking they charge so £40 extra. Very disappointed

Entertainment advertised was incorrect because it was limited. Dining was great and staff were accommodating. Spa was amazing and staff were informative. Floor boards were creaky. Wooden flooring was loose. On the whole, rooms need updating.

Pleasant hotel. Hotel very dated and the rooms could do with a refurb. However, tidy and bedding was clean. We slept well. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The outdoor pool area and bar/restaurant were fab, with the weather being so nice we felt like we were abroad. Kids enjoyed the indoor heated pool too which were clean and a decent size. A few minute walk to the seafront. Plenty of parking across sites £10 for 24 hours which was handy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

lots of steps and ramps so you need to be pretty fit , i can only imagine it to be a nightmare if your disabled. Not sure how you would get to the swimming pools if disabled lot of steps down. £10 a day to park is a bit steep too.

The 165 years old Victoria Hotel is so beautiful, so big and still so functional premise that we were really impressed. It is true that need flooring and little room renovation but I can only congratulate with the owner and management how good is maintained. The ladies at the reception are fantastic, so patient and helpful. The swimming pools are fantastic and big sizes, good for long swimming and the other for families with kids with a separate little corner for babies. The jacuzzi is a good size, good bubbles (I like a stronger water jet but was ok). Steaming really good and hot sauna lovely. The breakfast was very good and simple, basic very well cooked fried eggs, beans, plum tomatoes sauce, hash brown potatoes a little dry, scrambled eggs and sausages to improve. But the waiters were offering fresh made poached, boiled or scrambled eggs to be served at your table and fresh croissants too. We loved the other station with a very good yogurt, prunes on syrup, fantastic fresh fruit salad, cerries on syrup, sliced almonds, apple or grapes juices. There are 2 hot drinks machines quite good, but for my italian taste the coffee was a little weak. We found the service around the restaurant breakfast spotless, especially the lovely Ukrainian Pavel (not sure about the spelling) was making every single one so welcome and attentive to anyone needs, also the sweet Sara was very caring. There are so many activities going on especially for senior that really enjoy the hotel a lot.

while it may be an older property, it exceeded my expectations in many ways. The rooms do show their age, but the exceptional staff more than make up for it with their friendliness and attention to detail. The hotel offers a wide range of facilities that are perfect for families, including a massive games room that kept the kids entertained for hours. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are well-maintained and a fantastic place to relax. The evening entertainment was awesome. Additionally, the hotel's location is ideal, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Overall, it’s a wonderful place for a family getaway!

Didnt really need to leave the hotel grounds. Everything you need! Spa, pool, games room and plenty of bars and restaurants. Humble entertainment in the evenings. Lovely relaxing spa and we had an apartment which had also had a small kitchen if you wanted to cook yourself. Brilliant stay - for a family of 5 ages 39 -8 👍

Having 5 hotels in the same group use the same facilities has its advantages and drawbacks. Cheaper yes busy very ! Swimmers would love the pool and small children can swim in the smaller pools. Always book direct as you get better perks.

As with all TLH properties the rooms and buildings are in desperate need of renovation, however, the rooms are large and comfortable, beds comfortable. The staff are excellent and the breakfast is always of excellent quality. We've never had the evening meals but they always look excellent. The facilities on site are second to none, pools and steam room etc, bowling facilities and snooker tables etc.

Great staff and service. Very clean, but could with refurbishing all the bedrooms including the bathrooms. Some of the carpets in the corridors downstairs need replacing and repainting. The room we were given was not the picture shown on their website.

AVOID!! We checked in, then left and came home after a couple of hours!! It’s dirty, old, damp riddled and is completely inaccessible for prams. It’s a maze of dark corridors with filthy carpets that would have been old in the 80s. The air in our apartment was thick with damp. Swimming pools are cloudy with chlorine.

Apartment was absolutely horrible , squeaky floor , old stinky carpet , old uncomfortable beds , at least have good comfy beds but no , very very old everything , no worth the money at all , pool ok but not very clean 😢

The property is very central to the seafront and restaurants. Parking was a complete nightmare with cars left abandoned everywhere so chose to park offsite a couple of minutes away. Over half the price to park on site and easier as well. The facilities were clean and tidy (a little worn/dated) and the room was well presented. The issue we had was how hot the place was. We had the window fully open (January) and we still never used the covers. We had a particularly uncomfortable night due to the heat in the room (and we switched the radiator off). The general Spa facility was ok if you wanted a swim and sauna as well. Overall not bad value for money

The staying started bad by having limited to no parking, we had to go around twice to find a parking spot. There were no towels in the room when we got there, we had to go to reception and ask for some. The reception persons were all in a bad mood throughout our stay and were doing the minimum function. The breakfast we got was decent, and some staff were helpful, you could see they were really trying and quite busy helping restock. However, when prompted to help us with some croissants, they went to check if the kitchen is still open and never came back with an answer. While still having coffee with a fully buttered toast, a staff member came to clean up. It felt as though they were kicking us out despite other patrons being in and it wasn’t around closing time, with plenty of other free tables. Overall we wouldn’t recommend, awful parking, decent pool, unfriendly staff.

Excellent customer service and food in the restaurant. Bedroom was lovely and bright and airy but bed very uncomfortable with springs. Was given a mattress topper after complaining which made a big difference. We've stayed at TLH three times now and love it but hotels need painting and modernising, looking quite dated.

Booked in tlh Victoria online, however my reservation was placed with joining hotel derwent. Staff were able to rectify this and we stayed in Victoria in the end. Room had the necessities but was roasting hot the entire time. Was ok for one night.

It is nothing like it shows in pictures . Entrance to the room looked very out dated . The curtains and windows looked like it has not been cleaned . The sofa bed was very uncomfortable could feel the springs and the mattress was deep in the middle . I could not sleep and relax at all . Duvet cover felt as if the cotton wool inside was mushy and for sure that means it has probably not been changed for years . Very disappointing. I will unfortunately not go again .

As with all TLH properties the rooms and buildings are in desperate need of renovation, however, the rooms are large and comfortable, beds comfortable. The staff are excellent and the breakfast is always of excellent quality. We've never had the evening meals but they always look excellent. The facilities on site are second to none, pools and steam room etc, bowling facilities and snooker tables etc.
As with all TLH properties the rooms and buildings are in desperate need of renovation, however, the rooms are large and comfortable, beds comfortable. The staff are excellent and the breakfast is always of excellent quality. We've never had the evening meals but they always look excellent. The facilities on site are second to none, pools and steam room etc, bowling facilities and snooker tables etc.

Our 3rd visit. Staff very good my only disappointment was I had booked 2 rooms for 2 days. When I booked it was free parking since my booking they charge so £40 extra. Very disappointed

The 165 years old Victoria Hotel is so beautiful, so big and still so functional premise that we were really impressed. It is true that need flooring and little room renovation but I can only congratulate with the owner and management how good is maintained. The ladies at the reception are fantastic, so patient and helpful. The swimming pools are fantastic and big sizes, good for long swimming and the other for families with kids with a separate little corner for babies. The jacuzzi is a good size, good bubbles (I like a stronger water jet but was ok). Steaming really good and hot sauna lovely. The breakfast was very good and simple, basic very well cooked fried eggs, beans, plum tomatoes sauce, hash brown potatoes a little dry, scrambled eggs and sausages to improve. But the waiters were offering fresh made poached, boiled or scrambled eggs to be served at your table and fresh croissants too. We loved the other station with a very good yogurt, prunes on syrup, fantastic fresh fruit salad, cerries on syrup, sliced almonds, apple or grapes juices. There are 2 hot drinks machines quite good, but for my italian taste the coffee was a little weak. We found the service around the restaurant breakfast spotless, especially the lovely Ukrainian Pavel (not sure about the spelling) was making every single one so welcome and attentive to anyone needs, also the sweet Sara was very caring. There are so many activities going on especially for senior that really enjoy the hotel a lot.

Good value for money - had lots to do - near beach and restaurants ( 10 mins walk) staff helpful and friendly- having some work done so had scaffolding in front of our sea view but didn’t spoil our overall experience- would recommend for couples or families

Everything was very good all round. Not worried about having the apartment serviced but had trouble getting toilet roll soap etc... ever aksed the cleaner to drop some inside the door . She said she would and then didn't. Had to go to reception. When i saw her the next day she ignored me. About from that small thing Everything was very good. No complaints.

I injured my foot during my stay in a metal bed prong that’s used to clip beds together that was left undone . I immediately informed the receptionist that wasn’t interested at all and gave me a small blue plaster to put over it it took me to complain to managers for anything to be done . It ruined what was meant to he a relaxing trip. I never complain but feel this was totally wrong and human error . The mangers did offer me a free evening meal and breakfast at no cost but since coming home the had to seek medical attention for the injury I sustained and now that I’ve left they don’t seem interested that I’m still suffering with the injury overall really disappointed . The pool facilities of this hotel are nice but the rooms have no air conditioning and can get quite stuffy they do provide a small fan but you won’t get a full night sleep when it’s hot here which is a shame . Absolutely gutted that a nice weekend away turned into a stressful one !

The staying started bad by having limited to no parking, we had to go around twice to find a parking spot. There were no towels in the room when we got there, we had to go to reception and ask for some. The reception persons were all in a bad mood throughout our stay and were doing the minimum function. The breakfast we got was decent, and some staff were helpful, you could see they were really trying and quite busy helping restock. However, when prompted to help us with some croissants, they went to check if the kitchen is still open and never came back with an answer. While still having coffee with a fully buttered toast, a staff member came to clean up. It felt as though they were kicking us out despite other patrons being in and it wasn’t around closing time, with plenty of other free tables. Overall we wouldn’t recommend, awful parking, decent pool, unfriendly staff.

lots of steps and ramps so you need to be pretty fit , i can only imagine it to be a nightmare if your disabled. Not sure how you would get to the swimming pools if disabled lot of steps down. £10 a day to park is a bit steep too.

AVOID!! We checked in, then left and came home after a couple of hours!! It’s dirty, old, damp riddled and is completely inaccessible for prams. It’s a maze of dark corridors with filthy carpets that would have been old in the 80s. The air in our apartment was thick with damp. Swimming pools are cloudy with chlorine.

Great place to stay for a family - the facilities in the apartment and activities in the hotel are great and it’s close to the beach, Marina and Town Centre. It’s also not too far from the rest of the Riviera. We’ve lived at other good places in Torquay in the past, but this was by far the most practical and functional place for us as a family.

The property is very central to the seafront and restaurants. Parking was a complete nightmare with cars left abandoned everywhere so chose to park offsite a couple of minutes away. Over half the price to park on site and easier as well. The facilities were clean and tidy (a little worn/dated) and the room was well presented. The issue we had was how hot the place was. We had the window fully open (January) and we still never used the covers. We had a particularly uncomfortable night due to the heat in the room (and we switched the radiator off). The general Spa facility was ok if you wanted a swim and sauna as well. Overall not bad value for money

The hotel itself is very dated and tired, and appears to mostly cater for pensioners, however the facilities were fantastic for our family trip. My 3 and 6 year olds loved the indoor swimming pool complex and the arcade, both were excellent. The location is about 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 minute walk from Torquay marina

Lift stopped working. We were on the first floor and I had problems with the stairs. Also I requested a walk in shower….was given a step to climb into bath… too unsafe for me to use

Excellent customer service and food in the restaurant. Bedroom was lovely and bright and airy but bed very uncomfortable with springs. Was given a mattress topper after complaining which made a big difference. We've stayed at TLH three times now and love it but hotels need painting and modernising, looking quite dated.

Entertainment advertised was incorrect because it was limited. Dining was great and staff were accommodating. Spa was amazing and staff were informative. Floor boards were creaky. Wooden flooring was loose. On the whole, rooms need updating.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Food excellent. Staff friendly. Only one negative is that you have to serve yourself for evening meal no waitress service and when i stay in a hotel i do like to be waited on in the restaurant.

Love TLH- always book when I stay in TQY as you can’t beat the facilities and location and value. The staff are always great- home from home. However- the rooms (mainly in the summer) are way too hot. Fans are provided but the room I last stayed in at least was 39 degrees all night and meant I could sleep at all- which is the whole point of a hotel room. It’s just the build of the place I’m sure but without air conditioning or better air flow in the property it’s impossible to stay more than a couple of nights without sleep deprivation

Got my room and a great rate - didn’t have the breakfast so can’t comment on that. Parking was an additional £10 for 24hrs so parked on street but parking very limited in the area. Lovely room was supposed to have a single but they gave me a double and it was a king size bed. Kettle tea and coffee etc in room and a biscuit. Shower was perfectly fine (over bath) hot evening so opened window. Room very clean. Check in straight forward.
