URBAN STAY SHINJUKU EAST - Vacation STAY 97922

Location is good, its in the Okubo area of Shinkjuku, which happens to be Korea town. Bus stop is closer, else there are 2 different train stops about 10 min walking each. Supermarket, pharmacy, all in walking distance. Mattress was comfortable, bead filled pillows were not. I ended up sleeping without pillow which was fine. Surface area of the entire apt was dusty. I had to buy wipes to clean it. My biggest complaint are the thin brown bath towels. Spend more on nicer towels to elevate our experience and it'll go a long way. Air conditioner was good, and washer was good. Wash/dry combo will not dry clothes entirely, so expect to hang dry them overnight (plenty of hangers provided). Umbrellas are provided in the foyer.

The self-check-in and check-out processes were smooth and easy. Any questions we sent by message were answered promptly. We also really liked the hotel’s location. It is in a very quiet area, yet only a 5–10 minute walk from the train stations. There are also many restaurants nearby, especially Korean restaurants. The studio-style room is ideal for small families or young adults. We also appreciated the amenities provided, including a microwave, refrigerator, and washing machine, which made our stay very convenient.

riting We rented the studio, but based on the floor plan, we thought we had booked a unit with a separate bedroom, so that was a bit disappointing. Overall, though, the studio was clean, comfortable, and met our basic needs. We really appreciated that the air conditioning was already on when we checked in, making the room nice and cool after our arrival. The shower was excellent, with great water pressure and refreshing cold water, which was perfect after a hot day. The in-unit washer was also a huge plus and made our stay much more convenient.

Overall, we had a great stay. The location was excellent, right in the middle of everything with easy access to transit, restaurants, convenience stores, and plenty of walkable areas. The staff was very responsive whenever we had questions, and the building felt safe and well maintained. We even experienced an earthquake during our stay, and the building felt very solid, which gave us peace of mind. The air conditioning worked incredibly well, which was a lifesaver during the Tokyo summer, and the shower had some of the best water pressure I’ve ever experienced. My biggest complaint is that the room did not match the listing photos. The pictures made it look like there was a separate living room, but there wasn’t. The space was much smaller than expected, with three beds squeezed into a single room. It felt cramped for our family of four. If the photos had accurately shown the actual layout, we would have known exactly what to expect. The washer and dryer combo was also frustrating. A single load took well over three hours, so we could realistically only do one load per day. Since we wanted to be respectful of the neighbors and avoid making noise after 9 p.m., it made keeping up with laundry for a family of four more difficult than expected. Aside from those issues, we really enjoyed our stay. The location made exploring Tokyo incredibly easy, and the responsive staff, comfortable amenities, excellent air conditioning, and great shower made this a place I would definitely
