The service at this hotel was fantastic! In addition to having great food in their restaurant, the hotel also has a bakery with wonderful pastries. The beds were very comfortable, & the room size was perfect for 2. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a small and cozy hotel (motel by American standards). Everything was very clean, the staff was very attentive, and the views were excellent. We had a very tasty dinner in the restaurant. The breakfast spread was delicious. There were breads, pastries, meats, eggs, cheeses, juices and an amazing expresso machine. All was included with the room. The location is excellent for exploring some of Iceland’s stunning views. I recommend planning on spending more than one day to explore the region. My only complaint was it was too cloudy to see the Northern Lights… We should have stayed longer!

Hotel Snaefellsnes is a nicely run hotel very convenient to a tour of Iceland. The rooms are very modern and comfortable and the staff is nice. There is an on-site restaurant that serves dinner and breakfast comes wito th your room. It was a very nice and hearty breakfast as well. They also have a bakery full of yummy treats. We stayed 1 night and had no complaints.

Unerwartet schöne Unterkunft mitten im Nirgendwo. Freundlich eingerichtetes Zimmer mit allem Komfort. Einzig die Schiebetür zum Bad hat gelemmt. Gutes Restaurant und auch das Frühstück war mehr als ausreichend.

Really friendly staff. Room is a bit old, but in good condition - rooms have local names, not numbers. Breakfast was good. Interestingly, tables were allocated by your room name which meant there was a table for everyone. There is also an electric car charge point in the carpark.

If you’re visiting Iceland, don’t skip this area! We used the hotel as a base to explore the peninsula clockwise, and each stop felt like a new highlight, adding to the overall experience. Our room was clean and spacious, with large windows offering a beautiful view. We even spotted three sheep walking by our window, which made the experience extra special. The room had a well-equipped bathroom, and the hotel is a one-story building with a big parking lot and a nearby gas station. There’s even an On Power plug station for electric cars, which was very convenient. The hotel also features a restaurant where you can enjoy dinner, as well as a breakfast buffet that’s included with your stay. During dinner, we were hosted by Anselmo, who made our dining experience unforgettable. His recommendations for food, wine, and dessert truly elevated the meal. If you stay here, you absolutely must try the lamb and the apple pie dessert—they were outstanding! Anselmo’s warmth and hospitality left a lasting impression on us, and we’re grateful for his kindness. This hotel was a great find. It has clean and well-kept rooms with Smart TVs and an excellent breakfast. Their on-site café stays open until 9:30 PM, which is very convenient. The room was nice and the staff was very kind. The bed was also comfortable. Only major downside to the hotel room was that it was not possible to lower the floor heating temperature in our room (Jokkul), which means it can get uncomfortably hot during a warmer summer day. It was also difficult to open the sliding door to the bathroom, as it got stuck.

The room was compact but clean and comfortable. The attached bathroom was petite with a shower stall that was almost next to the sink and no partition or shower curtain so the whole bathroom got wet. Apart from this it was a good stay in a very convenient location in the Snaefellsness peninsula. Thanks to the staff for being so courteous and helpful.

Nice small motel in good location for peninsula sight seeing. Rooms were comfortable and hotel restaurant had excellent food. Breakfast was included with a great variety of choices. Only down side was door had weight on it and slammed so in evening if resting you may hear your neighbours door as they left but it is otherwise in a quiet and remote area. Would definitely recommend

You really should stay here. Pictures of the rooms don't do them justice. They have vaulted ceilings! Plush linens with loads of pillows, effective blackout curtains, and windows that open. And its so quiet. You'll definitely sleep peaceful. Oh, and did I mention the cappuccino maker in your room? Or the Netflix and Amazon Prime on the TV? Or that the way the water drains in the shower is so freaking cool??? Staff is so friendly and cheerful. The homemade bread at breakfast toasted perfectly with crisp edges all around. And the lamb shank I had for supper one night was the best meal of my two week trip. So flavorful and fell off the bone with wonderful veggie sides. Really a must try. I stayed a total of nine places on my vacation, and this place was my absolute favorite. I'll be dreaming of that meal, and my stay, for quite awhile. You really must stay at this lovely establishment! Thank you, thank you, for such a remarkable stay!

Great and convenient location for exploring the peninsula. Spacious and comfortable room, smallish bathroom with just one shampoo or body wash but good shower pressure. Good spot to see an aurora if one makes an appearance! They offer food all day, we had the lamb soup with toasted bread which was excellent, but the chicken noodle soup, although filling, was rather tasteless. Friendly and helpful staff.

We loved our short 1 night stay here. A really kind man greeted us and walked us to our room. It was very clean and was probably the most comfortable bed we had during our stay. There’s a cafe/dinner opened pretty late so you can grab coffee and something to eat reasonably late. Everyone was really friendly. Breakfast has espresso, fruits, pastries, and more!

The gentleman at the reception was very polite and took utmost care of the situation. We were very happy as he automatically upgraded us to an apartment as there were some noise complaint from previous guest. As for the apartment, it was clean with stunning scenic views. Overall, we loved our stay.

This hotel and the staff were amazing Emil who xhecked us in at the reception desk went above and beyond to make our two night stay a fanatic one! We arrived after a long drive to be welcomed by Emil. He was so accomodating and allowed the kitchen to stay open so that we could have dinner in our room and even carried the heavy hot plates to our beautiful room! We slept deep on the comfy beds and woke up to a lovely breakasr in the morning. All the staff was friendly and made our stay incredibly special. We slso had housekeeping service, which is a luxury nowadays. We will definitely stay again due to the pleasant stay and great location!!

This hotel was a great find. It has clean and well-kept rooms with Smart TVs and an excellent breakfast. Their on-site café stays open until 9:30 PM, which is very convenient. We had a three-night stay booked at Hotel Snaefellsnes. As soon as we arrived and began checking out the room, we were disappointed. The room needs updates, especially the bathroom, and a thorough cleaning. The shower curtain smelled of mildew or so we thought. I took a shower and the steam exacerbated smells of mildew and urine that wafted throughout the bedroom. It was the drain! I want to be clear, staff were amazing. We called to report this and someone came by the room immediately with chemicals and a mop to flush the drain and clean the floor. He also changed the curtain. Ultimately, we decided to leave after two nights. I informed the staff, staff apologized and said the manager would be informed. We were okay being out the money for that last night. I contacted Hotels.com as soon as we arrived to report the concern and they attempted on my behalf to obtain a refund from the manager for the third night. We never received a response. The restaurant and cafe were lovely. Food was good, breakfast was excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly. There is a clear mismatch here. We travelled around Iceland. We stayed at many places and all were wonderful and clean but this place was disappointing. Considering the price of accommodations, customers deserve better.
