Exceptionally clean room, stocked with everything we needed!!! Friendly staff, especially Vivek…he was very helpful with anything we needed!!! Comfortable beds and chairs. Recently remodeled including a rain shower head in the shower. Decor was done very well. Close to Shipshewana and other attractions. Liquor store, convenience store and gas station with a few games like pool, basketball and arcade games in the same building! IHOP is permanently closed but a new Crunchy Chicken restaurant is coming soon!

The motel is on the second floor a large multi-purpose building with a 24/7 convenience store and liquor store on the first floor. There is no entry for the motel, you check in at the desk of convenience store. The building looks like a castle. The property has gas pumps and a truck stop. There is a closed IHOP also. There is a large elevator that takes you to the motel rooms. They require a 150 USD deposit. It was very clean and the room was huge. The floors are concrete, with throw rugs. It was a nicely appointed room. Plenty of hot water and room was a good temperature. It was very quiet, even with all these things going on outside and below the room. The bed was comfortable, staff was nice. If you want generic chain-hotel ambiance, this is probably not the place for you.

I felt safe at this location, though it wasn't in the main area of town. The convenience store below the rooms had a great variety of foods available. We were also able to order our food from local restaurants. The rooms are big, comfortable and mostly quiet, we were only woken once from a noisy neighbor. There were only a few things I didn't like about the room. First, the towels are WAY too small, plus there were no wash clothes in our room. I don't use them and my husband didn't want to ask for them. It would be nice to have a makeup mirror in the bathroom or by the entryway mirror as it would greatly help applying ones makeup. The other thing that the room could use is a luggage rack, I had to use the desk area. Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay, the staff were polite and helpful and the parking was great.

Very interesting place. Check-in was quick, all of the facilities staff were friendly, open to conversation and accommodating. Vivek was especially helpful, very congenial and always asked if we needed anything during our four night stay whenever he came across us as we went out and came back in. Vivek's disposition is remarkable and his understanding of customer service is superior. Room was exceptionally large, bed was extremely comfortable, shower was huge and everything was extraordinarily clean. Hotel rooms are located on the second floor with both elevator and stairs. The ground floor is an enormous convenience store that has everything under the sun that one could possibly want or need. There's even a walk-in humidor with a decent selection of cigars. I was even able to purchase Djarum while there. They also carry imported, genuine Indian incense in an array of varieties Immediately adjacent is the most incredible liquor-spirit-wine-champagne-beer-ale emporium I have ever been in. Walked in by mistake and was blown away by the array of alcoholic beverages available. I have never seen anything like it in my life and probably never will again. Absolutely incredible.

The room was massive and beautiful, the desk staff is nice and very convenient that a convenience store is attached. Also, was very surprised to get free IHOP breakfast for staying. The only thing I was disappointed about was our rain shower not working. Everything else was fantastic. Can’t wait to stop again. Also it’s a freaking castle!

Unique castle architecture, nice spacious room. Figuring out where to park, enter and sign in confusing as it is a property with a large lower level store and liquor store. No breakfast provided, but price of room more reasonable. IHop is on the property.

Exactly what I needed after my event at Sylvan Cellars Winery nearby. Not a corporate chain. Friendly check-in at the giant store with anything you could ever want/need. Extra large clean room with comfy bed & pillows. Pod coffee maker & smart tv if you want to use your streaming. Looks like a castle.

Really enjoyed our stay. Pretty clean except for I don’t think they mop the floors. My toddler spilled something and when I cleaned it up, you could see a huge difference from the clean spot from the rest of the floor. The rooms are not sound proof. I could hear my neighbors TV like it was in my own room. But over all, very happy and would stay again!

Facility was clean. It's sort of a truck stop but was good. I was travelling alone and was there for 4 nights. There was initially 2 sets of towels in the bathroom. After 2 nights the room wasn't serviced which isn't a big deal except that I didn't get any fresh towels. After 2 trips to the desk and getting told they needed to wait for another person to be there by 2 different people I gave up. Just hung my existing towels on a rack to dry for another use.

The room was huge with a huge bathroom as well! It had a walk-in shower with a rainfall shower head and regular shower head for personal choice. The rainfall shower head was so relaxing and unique to anywhere else I have stayed! The room was clean, neat and organized! All of this is extremely surprising given that it is behind a gas station and above a party store. Only recommendations I would have are to put non-slip strips or something on the shower floor as it is very slippery, and to put a sign above the door where you go to check-in to make it easier to find. That part was very frustrating. But overall, will definitely stay again!

Third, the floor in the rooms are concrete and thus the sound travels more fluidly. Lastly, the walls are paper thin, you can hear conversations next door, if you happen to have people next door. The price is very appealing. There you have it. A study in contrasts.

The rooms all have huge showers with handheld and rain style both available. Rooms are always clean and 2 water bottles and kcups and keruig in each room. Beds extremely comfortable & staff is always kind. I have had to check in at all linds of times at night depending what time i get to the area, and they are always quick and friendly. This is the best place to stay, feels like home. Rooms are above gas station, the gas station is open 24 hours.

By far one of the best hotel stays I have had ever. Thick walls and concrete floor, did not hear anyone else. Slept so soundly. Will definitely keep that place in mind if I ever find myself back in that area

Clean large room with comfortable bed. Room was not well sound proofed; voices and doors closing late at night woke me. To be fair, the people I herd were arguing and being loader than necessary. I've stayed there before and had a good nights rest. No wifi was available. I had to use a hot spot on my phone. When I asked for the password, the staff said there was a public network that did not require a password. Only a protected connection was available.

Good, no frills place to get a good nights sleep. No public wifi is a bit frustrating. Their network came up but when I asked for the password, I was told to use the public site. A public site did not show up when I checked for wifi.

Room was extra large (concrete floors). Shower was Hugh, but the shower floor was extremely slick. Both my husband and I had trouble trying not to fall….there are no grab bars.

Not a bad place to stay for a night. Kind of odd in that the hotel rooms are located above a truck stop/travel store. The bed was clean and comfy. The floors were just painted concrete, again different, and some areas looked dirty in the room. Our biggest complaint was the TV system. There was no way to see any live local channels or live sporting events. It as a very strange cable programing system. We were there on a September Saturday afternoon and evening stay and we could NOT watch any of the college football games in this room. We even had the IT/maintenance employee to try and figure it out....no one there knew how to get live stations and event tv coverage at this hotel. We even talked with the manager that checked us in at the desk. This is not good for return business and needs to be corrected.

Well I have to say this is probably the most welcoming clean hotel I've been to. The gentleman working are very polite and helpful and always have something kind to say. They do a very good job keeping the place clean and I'd recommend this to anyone.

Exceptionally clean room, stocked with everything we needed!!! Friendly staff, especially Vivek…he was very helpful with anything we needed!!! Comfortable beds and chairs. Recently remodeled including a rain shower head in the shower. Decor was done very well. Close to Shipshewana and other attractions. Liquor store, convenience store and gas station with a few games like pool, basketball and arcade games in the same building! Very interesting place. Check-in was quick, all of the facilities staff were friendly, open to conversation and accommodating. Vivek was especially helpful, very congenial and always asked if we needed anything during our four night stay whenever he came across us as we went out and came back in. Vivek's disposition is remarkable and his understanding of customer service is superior. Room was exceptionally large, bed was extremely comfortable, shower was huge and everything was extraordinarily clean. Hotel rooms are located on the second floor with both elevator and stairs. The ground floor is an enormous convenience store that has everything under the sun that one could possibly want or need. There's even a walk-in humidor with a decent selection of cigars. I was even able to purchase Djarum while there. They also carry imported, genuine Indian incense in an array of varieties Immediately adjacent is the most incredible liquor-spirit-wine-champagne-beer-ale emporium I have ever been in. Walked in by mistake and was blown away by the array of alcoholic beverages available. I have never seen anything like it in my life and probably never will again. Absolutely incredible.

Check in is unpleasant. Room was very clean, smelled like someone went crazy with strawberry air freshener. Bed was very comfortable. Keurig coffee and pods provided Bottled water in room. Even a few mini candy bars! All in all, a decent place to stay for a night.

Facility was clean. It's sort of a truck stop but was good. I was travelling alone and was there for 4 nights. There was initially 2 sets of towels in the bathroom. After 2 nights the room wasn't serviced which isn't a big deal except that I didn't get any fresh towels. After 2 trips to the desk and getting told they needed to wait for another person to be there by 2 different people I gave up. Just hung my existing towels on a rack to dry for another use.

Did not bring fresh towels daily, or do any room service. We didnt mind asking for them but it should be part of the cost of room. It was convenient that there was a fuel station downstairs with food and other amenities just in case.

I looked for pet friendly with that filter chosen. When I checked in the asked the gentleman if he gave us a King Pet friendly room and he said yes. When going to our room another gentleman stopped us and said they didn’t allow pets. I had paid and asked the question twice, and was told yes. An argument started and I was furious. The guy finally said we could stay. But why it’s not pet friendly is beyond me, it’s all concrete floors and really pretty basic. Nothing fancy or special. They can speak very little English and lack people skills. I cannot recommend due to our treatment and it’s not wonderful as the rating showss

Third, the floor in the rooms are concrete and thus the sound travels more fluidly. Lastly, the walls are paper thin, you can hear conversations next door, if you happen to have people next door. I felt safe at this location, though it wasn't in the main area of town. The convenience store below the rooms had a great variety of foods available. We were also able to order our food from local restaurants. The rooms are big, comfortable and mostly quiet, we were only woken once from a noisy neighbor. There were only a few things I didn't like about the room. First, the towels are WAY too small, plus there were no wash clothes in our room. I don't use them and my husband didn't want to ask for them. It would be nice to have a makeup mirror in the bathroom or by the entryway mirror as it would greatly help applying ones makeup. The other thing that the room could use is a luggage rack, I had to use the desk area. Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay, the staff were polite and helpful and the parking was great.

No going to lie. This place is weird. It's in a gas station. I want to be mad at it. But also, it was a cheap price for a really great shower and very comfy and clean bed. The flooring is weird and I had to unplug 2 air fresheners in the room that were total overkill. But it was clean and comfortable, so I can't complain about having a gas station that feels like Las Vegas at the bottom of the elevator.

Exactly what I needed after my event at Sylvan Cellars Winery nearby. Not a corporate chain. Friendly check-in at the giant store with anything you could ever want/need. Extra large clean room with comfy bed & pillows. Pod coffee maker & smart tv if you want to use your streaming. Looks like a castle.

The room was massive and beautiful, the desk staff is nice and very convenient that a convenience store is attached. Also, was very surprised to get free IHOP breakfast for staying. The only thing I was disappointed about was our rain shower not working. Everything else was fantastic. Can’t wait to stop again. Also it’s a freaking castle!

So many choices on food and drink. Room was spacious and well equipped with nice refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker etc... nice shower, IHOP next door. Lots of outlets to plug electronics in. Friendly and helpful staff.

The motel was actually quite unexpected. The motel is in a "castle" looking building with other businesses including an IHOP. The rooms are large, clean and updated. There are only 10 rooms so the hotel is small but very nice. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. We also received vouchers for free breakfast at the IHOP which was unexpected. We would definitely stay again!

We had some rude people in the room next to us. They were up all night screaming, making noise, talking loud, blaring the tv. We called downstairs and nothing ever changed. We got up and checked out early because we couldn't sleep. What sucks is we had to travel and be tired at the same time.

Excellent motel!!! This was our second stay with Gallops. Extra spacious, clean rooms; comfortable beds and friendly staff! They even leave bottles of water and snack size candy bars in the room! It’s above the convenience store and liquor store with the reception desk in the convenience store. There is a delicious Mexican restaurant attached also. We will definitely be back!!!

This was a good stay for the price. I was satisfied for a quick one night overnight stop. The IHOP restaurant is no longer in the building - so the free IHOP breakfast voucher no longer exists. The room, linens etc were generally surface clean and looked good. A large room with plenty of space. I was not happy with the guy in the room next to me - and the wall insulation. I could hear every groan and sigh as he slept and when he turned on the radio in the morning at 5:45 AM - it could have been in my room. Also the shower was nice with both an overhead rain shower and wand - but the wand clip was broken - so you couldn't position it. I could not figure out a good way to control the spray from both devices. The room needed a little maintenance on the shower and a good scrubbing of the floors would be nice.

The Gallops Motel is part of a cafe/truck stop/liquor store that was built to resemble an actual castle. The rooms were huge with a large bathroom, full living area with multiple couches and our bedroom had matching king sized beds. Had a great stay for a great price.
