Relax Inn Saint Charles

Older property that could probably use some TLC, but it was clean, quiet, and inexpensive. Worth it for the money. We stopped here after a long day of driving and it had a clean, comfortable bed and working AC. What more could you want?

Very inexpensive, great lighting in the parking lot, very basic. I took away one star because the TV could only get one channel, which felt like the proprietor decided he didn’t want to pay for cable for multiple rooms, he just wants to pay for one account and everyone else can watch what he’s watching.

In need of some upgrades. Still using blankets from the 60's. Fridge was gross. Ice machine was down. On top of that I left my airpods. I called to see if they could ship it to me and they said no. I offered to pay for it and they said no.

Big and lots of parking

Nice clean. Not fancy. All ground floor rooms!! A room. A bed. A shower. Everything I needed.

Excellent value for the modest price. Clean, all amenities present (hair dryer, great mini-fridge, microwave, iron/ironing board). Easy check-in and plenty of close parking. Excellent bed for 2 good night’s sleep. Quiet. Thanks!!

The door was a little sketchy and no microwave. The bed was comfortable. Booked a smoking room and got a non-smoking one. It was raining, that was inconvenient for my husband.

Great location, the Motel is aged and run down but it’s okay for the price. A couple of issues with this place though. One, don’t use the coin operated laundromat, the dryers will rip you off. Secondly, don’t drink the coffee in the office, during my 3 day stay, the coffee urn never got fresh coffee. They expected me to drink the old coffee by “zapping it in the Microwave”. And then the last but definitely not the least, after originally booking a 2 night stay, I booked a third night on here. I went to the office and told the guy there about it at 9am. I wanted to give him the option of having me check out at 11am and check back in at 3pm or just roll over, which either way would not have bothered me. I was informed by the guy there (Nate) that this was not allowed. He pointed out the sign on the window multiple times that said no extended stays. Clearly he didn’t know what extended stay means in the hotel industry and yet here he is. He then informed me he had to inspect our room to make sure that it was clean before he could honor the reservation. Keep in mind, this is at 9am ad check out was at11am, this dude was at my door 45 seconds after I got back to the room for his inspection. He looked in the room where my girlfriend was folding the clothes on the bed ad said it looked too unorganized like that and he couldn’t honor our reservation and said that we had about1 hour to leave and we couldn’t check back in there till 24 hours had passed regardless of our prepaid res.

When checking in at the front desk, they did not have a public restroom available after driving for sometime. I still had to get back into my car and find a bathroom before checking in. Although older place in need some updates, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower pressure was OK and so were the bed linens

Clean room. Very well lit outside. No coffee maker. Door was very hard to open due to bottom of the door rubbing on the carpet.

The room was nasty and dirty and had cockroaches bad. Worse place I've ever been too. I have requested my money back. Do not waste your money at this place trust me!+

Stayed here many times. Lately, it's becoming more and more evident why this is the least expensive place in a 25+ mile radius. The cleanliness of the rooms seems to get worse every time I visit. This last time was the worst due to having to fight ants constantly and then finding A FOUR love roaches, one actually in the bed! The lady that works here is the most accommodating, sincere and sympathetic person working here. She was also very straight forward in telling me that she was personally sorry for my experience, but there would be no point in complaining to management about this if I were to expect to get any kind of refund for my stay. (I already knew this, unfortunately.) She did offer to switch my room immediately to a room that "hadn't had any recent complaints".

After arriving, we were told that the 2 Queen size bed room was no longer available due to "technical issues", and my Son and I had to share a King size bed. Within one hour, we were both itching like crazy and got out of bed to inspect why. Bedbugs were found as well as blood spots on the sheets. We immediately notified the night clerk and demanded a refund. We brought live bed bugs to the office with the room key. We had been driving for 1100 miles and had to get back in our vehicle to drive again. This happened in room 201, and we were told we had to wait until 11am to call the hotel for a refund, as the overnight clerk was unable to make a refund. Fortunately, pictures and video were taken as evidence. If a refund is NOT given, the BBB will be notified as well as the St. Charles health department.

Very dirty. Holes in the walls. Spiders in the tub. Police sirens all night long. Shady guests. The only good thing was the needs were comfortable and appeared to be clean.

Would like a refund was in the room for a minute and walked out can’t sleep w the smell and the room is mad dirty.

The room was spotless and clean.

Check in was fast. Room was large. Did need more lighting. Bathroom door needs replaced. Bed was very comfortable. Flooring dated.

The room next to us blasted music all night and the staff did nothing. Otherwise fine. Just... We couldn't actually sleep.

We arrived in the late afternoon (totally daylight) and the lobby was closed. Had to walk up to the "night" window and handle the transaction through an opening under the window. The person checking me in wasn\'t very friendly, didn\'t offer any helpful information as to location of room or wifi connection. That evening I searched for a wifi connection, but could not find one. In the morning (after 8am) I went to the office to ask about wifi, was given the name, but non of my devices found it while int he room. I took my tablet outside and stood close to the office and the connection finally showed up. Got my tablet connected, but by the time I got back to the room, it was no longer connected. So the wifi connection there really stunk! There was no coffee maker in the room and because the lobby was closed our whole visit we had to go to a gas station to get coffee. The room looked as though it hadn\'t been dusted in months. Thankfully, the shower, toilet, sink, and beds were clean.

There was a faulty light outside my room that pulsed every 4 seconds. This made a strobe light through my curtains, and a constant loud click every 4 seconds. Also, the shower head was at shoulder height, making me have to squat to was my hair. I was disappointed my room did not have a microwave or fridge. To be fair, the description did not say the room had them, but it also didn’t say it had a toilet or shower. I’ve stayed at several hotels, and they all had a microwave, so I just assumed that was standard.

Bed was way to soft and hard on the back to sleep…hated it

Anyone who has read my reviews knows my biggest pet peeve is water pressure in the shower. The water pressure here was adequate, although I will say that the shower head was a little low for my taste. I am 5'10" and it was hitting me in the back of the head. I would have to be someone taller trying to take a shower. My one knock on this hotel was that the wi-fi was pretty bad.

It served it's purpose as a cheap motel, but the room had a strong cig smoke smell

The TV doesn't work well.

Was in town for a funeral, couldn't afford a luxury hotel, so got one close to funeral home. Good prices. Bed was sagging in the middle, and I rolled into the sag. Not comfortable. My son found a small plastic bottle of lubricant under the bed. Curtains were off at the end, exposing a glimpse into the room. Pillows sucked.

The front desk was not staffed several times when I (and others) went in. Ringing the "night bell" didn't help. One of the desk folks said he had to be away gathering the info about getting rooms cleaned. The guy who finally showed up the other time didn't seem to understand basic procedures like checking someone in early or giving a receipt--in part because his understanding of English may have been poor and his accent made it hard for most customers to understand him. I found myself explaining to him what other customers were requesting.

The reception staff is a very unpleasant man who isn't friendly to guests. He should be at least a little more cordial so the hotel can achieve a two-star rating. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

A housekeeper walked into my LOCKED room midday & saw me without pants on & then lied about it & the front desk did nothing, DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOURE A GIRL WHO VALUES HER SAFETY 0/10

Room was just a bargain for us.Front desk clerk was more worried about continuing his cell phone call than he was checking us in.Room was very dark and dreary.1 lamp and one overhead light,no phone,coffee.Although they had many rooms,it seems they wanted to place everyone in on building. Very noisy most of the night.I guess you get what you pay for.Never again!

It seemed nice but I didn’t care for the attitude. Everything was good until I told the manager my fridge wasn’t working and then he said the motel is not responsible for appliances working in the room? But he did offer to move me but I decided to get some ice. However, some guy ahead of me cleaned it out? So I waited about 45 minutes but only a tiny amount of ice came out!

Didn’t get to stay they told me after it was paid for that they couldn’t rent to me . When asked why he couldn’t tel me a reason. Very unprofessional. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

The staff here are very friendly and make sure you have all you need for a comfortable stay. Would book again on my next trip.

They are rude.. apparently they hate their job.. they basically threw the signature paper to secure the room at my husband. Like we were bothering him.. unnecessary attitude for sure

Reasonably priced and close to why i was there

It was convenient to were I needed to go. It was economical. Not updated, but clean. I was pleased and will return again, as I have business nearby about 4 times a year.

It was 5 minutes from the concert I was going to. So good location and it was very comfortable and cozy. No complaints

I was pleasantly surprised by this property. I travel ALLOT and mostly hotels but this little motel was clean and well taken care of. Staff was also aware and attentive. Clean and a very convenient location by the highway.

Bare bones motel. No breakfasts, fruits or even coffee. Price reflects that. Room was clean, kinda modern. So if you just need a place to stay, sleep, this is it.
