Wonderful bed and roomy bathroom with excellent shower. Espresso machine in the stairway for all guests to use. And Nicholas had the room ready two hours early--thanks.

Utopian Luxury Boutique Residence is really nice. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, very modern yet classy. This hotel is a renovated old General’s quarters. Many rooms several levels. Be aware lots of stairs, challenging for those with big suitcases and mobility challenged. Back then, the more rooms in a house the richer you looked. Area is perfect, across from the Palacio do Cristal, which is also on the hop-on-off bus Redline. You can walk to several sites and the Douro River. Some good eateries around the corner, a classic burger place and a nice restaurant called Xao Laura, serves roast beef sandwiches and steaks. The staff and attention to the customer is above and beyond. I highly recommend this hotel. Try to get a low floor though.

Despite being a gold member and being told I’d be eligible for an upgrade and vip perks, I didn’t receive them at this hotel. There weren’t any actual amenities (gym, pool, restaurant, etc.) but the staff were friendly and communicative. The shower water pressure was nice, bed comfy, room small but that’s okay as I spent much of my time out of the room. Balcony was a nice touch.
Despite being a gold member and being told I’d be eligible for an upgrade and vip perks, I didn’t receive them at this hotel. There weren’t any actual amenities (gym, pool, restaurant, etc.) but the staff were friendly and communicative. From the communications before arrival to our reception on arrival and the facilities delivered. We have nothing but praise. Fantastic value for money. We stayed in room 6 which was comfortable and quiet. The coffee machine provided coffee on demand anytime without limitations and the minibar was stocked with a few nice treats free of charge. Nicolas was extremely helpful, even to a young lady who arrived when we did but had made a mistake with her booking as it was for 2026. He went well above and beyond expectations. Location is good, could walk just about anywhere we wanted within 30 minutes. Would stay here again.

The Utopian Suites were exactly as advertised and provided a very pleasant experience during my visit to Porto. I appreciated the ease of check in, and the well-appointed room which provided all of the comforts and conveniences of home. The inclusion of the mini bar was a nice perk and a thoughtful touch. The property manager was easily reachable to attend to any requests. I would not hesitate to stay at this property again when in Porto.

Good stay, nicely designed room, good lighting, very good communication. All communication done through WhatsApp which is great. The place has no elevators, reception or breakfast which may be a drawback for some.

Great location with easy accessibility to the olde city & waterfront restaurants. Lovely comfortably decorated apartment on a noisy street. Strangely Coffee/ espresso & tea machine was located in stairwell between 2nd & 3rd floors; hence guests had to exit their suites to get a hot drink! A kettle / offer machine in ea h apartment would raise the standard rating dramatically !

The room was spotless and was a very cool and different style room - we loved the amount of space and the swinging TV! The free 'minibar' was a great touch and much appreciated. We also really appreciated having Netflix too, thank you - Nicolas and Grisha were both really helpful with all queries, thank you, we really enjoyed our stay.

Surprisingly updated modern, spacious and well-appointed room in an old building. Only draw-back: lots of stairs to upper floor, but, thankfully, well air-conditioned room. Comfortable bed, very nice sitting area and bathroom. Really liked the policy of free mini-bar. Only suggestion: provide coffee machine/tea kettle in room, not on lower level. Host very solicitous and helpful at all times. Would definitely recommend for anyone who can handle stairs!

The hotel is in a great location for sightseeing in Porto - out of the way enough to be fairly quiet but within a short walk of many of the key sights and the waterfront. It is also on the right side of town to take a trip to the beach. The room was large and exactly as per the photos, the bed was comfy and the furniture and fridge / included minibar items were nice touches. Communication from the owners/concierge via WhatsApp was excellent, including many recommendations for places to eat and asking our cleaning preferences each day. We stayed for 4 nights and would definitely stay again. One thing to be aware of is the stairs - we were in room 7 on the top (3rd) floor, which meant carrying luggage up several flights and some narrow stairs at the top. Bear in mind if you have lots of luggage with you. The only improvement I would suggest is that the room needed more space to unpack and store clothes. There is one very short hanging rail but no drawers, which is odd given the ample space in the room.

The room was immaculately clean and comfy, with everything we needed. The location was superb, with lovely bars and restaurants in walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Porto.

Quaint little apartment building a little above the center of town. Very clean and spacious. Beds were five star and so was the shower. It is a hike up to the room in wooden stairs. And the room is a bit loud but you have to accept that for being in the city and great location. Snacks and water were waiting for us in the room. Lovely.

Clean. Luxury bed and bedding. Great shower with lots of hot water. Nice touch on free snacks. We’re on ground floor and it was pretty noisy with the front door automatically slamming shut and people coming and going but hotel provided ear plugs and we slept really well.

Very clean and well equipped such as iron, mini bar, AC. Room was very cute and pretty and close to walk to the main old town. Since it is right on the main road and near bus stop, a little bit noise in the early morning but not bothering for sleeping. Definitely worth for money!

Very clean room, good coffee/tea maker, very nice shower, very, very comfortable bed! Convenient security system. Manager easily reached by phone. All staff responsive and pleasant. Good streaming choices on the TV. Our room (6) was 47 steps up from the street. Plenary of space in the room; an extra chair world have been handy.

Very centrally located in Porto. Located right next to the beautiful Crystal Palace Park. Room was comfortable and the free mini bar was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed the free coffee. Only downside was that there was street noise. So if quiet is important, just be aware!

My stay at Utopian was fabulous! I booked the top-level junior suite, and the photos truly don’t do it justice. It feels like a cozy, homey loft with the convenience of a virtual concierge service. Since my visit was short, I didn’t get to meet the staff in person to pay my city tax, but the manager, Nicolas, quickly helped me find a solution. The only downside was the street noise — the property sits on a busy road, so I could hear traffic and sometimes even feel light vibrations from passing vehicles late at night. Some soundproofing would make it perfect. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this property for its comfort, design, and excellent service.

Host was amazing, they let us check in early as we landed early in the morning and weather was rainy that day. Thanks a lot for that. Room was very clean and bed comfortable, shower was huge and great warer pressure. The only downside on the room was that it was on the ground floor, window overlooking a road which is quite busy and loud. If you are a light sleeper ask for the room that doesnt overlook the road. There were earbuds for noise cancellation in the bathroom, which was very useful, withiut that I wouldnt be able to sleep. I think information about noise has to be communicated in advance as it will be impossible for some people to sleep in that room due to noise. The great thing about the room is free mini bar and tea/coffee. Coffee was tasty and having bottle of water on arrival waiting in the room was wonderful. Overall it is a great charming hotel. Thanks a lot for having us.
Host was amazing, they let us check in early as we landed early in the morning and weather was rainy that day. Thanks a lot for that. Room was very clean and bed comfortable, shower was huge and great warer pressure. The only downside on the room was that it was on the ground floor, window overlooking a road which is quite busy and loud. If you are a light sleeper ask for the room that doesnt overlook the road. There were earbuds for noise cancellation in the bathroom, which was very useful, withiut that I wouldnt be able to sleep. I think information about noise has to be communicated in advance as it will be impossible for some people to sleep in that room due to noise. The great thing about the room is free mini bar and tea/coffee. Coffee was tasty and having bottle of water on arrival waiting in the room was wonderful. Overall it is a great charming hotel. Thanks a lot for having us.

Very friendly staffs and because the property only has a few tenants, the owner can provide a butler type service .. each morning he'll greet you around 8 through WhatsApp and ask you what you'll like their cleaning team to do for you. Overall great service and price is reasonable. I am glad I found this gem in Porto and will definitely return here when I am back to Porto again.

My stay at Utopian was fabulous! I booked the top-level junior suite, and the photos truly don’t do it justice. It feels like a cozy, homey loft with the convenience of a virtual concierge service. Since my visit was short, I didn’t get to meet the staff in person to pay my city tax, but the manager, Nicolas, quickly helped me find a solution. The only downside was the street noise — the property sits on a busy road, so I could hear traffic and sometimes even feel light vibrations from passing vehicles late at night. Some soundproofing would make it perfect. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this property for its comfort, design, and excellent service.

It was such a cute and clean hotel, great location. Awesome service from Grisha Davidoff. One of the rare places where they let you have everything from the minibar and don’t charge you 😊 They stored our luggage until our room was ready and actually got our room ready two hours early. Overall, it was wonderful. Would love to go back there! Very highly recommend!

From the communications before arrival to our reception on arrival and the facilities delivered. We have nothing but praise. Fantastic value for money. We stayed in room 6 which was comfortable and quiet. The coffee machine provided coffee on demand anytime without limitations and the minibar was stocked with a few nice treats free of charge. Nicolas was extremely helpful, even to a young lady who arrived when we did but had made a mistake with her booking as it was for 2026. He went well above and beyond expectations. Location is good, could walk just about anywhere we wanted within 30 minutes. Would stay here again.

The room was spotless and was a very cool and different style room - we loved the amount of space and the swinging TV! The free 'minibar' was a great touch and much appreciated. We also really appreciated having Netflix too, thank you - Nicolas and Grisha were both really helpful with all queries, thank you, we really enjoyed our stay.

Very centrally located in Porto. Located right next to the beautiful Crystal Palace Park. Room was comfortable and the free mini bar was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed the free coffee. Only downside was that there was street noise. So if quiet is important, just be aware!

The room was immaculately clean and comfy, with everything we needed. The location was superb, with lovely bars and restaurants in walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Porto.

Utopian Luxury Boutique Residence is really nice. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, very modern yet classy. This hotel is a renovated old General’s quarters. Many rooms several levels. Be aware lots of stairs, challenging for those with big suitcases and mobility challenged. Back then, the more rooms in a house the richer you looked. Area is perfect, across from the Palacio do Cristal, which is also on the hop-on-off bus Redline. You can walk to several sites and the Douro River. Some good eateries around the corner, a classic burger place and a nice restaurant called Xao Laura, serves roast beef sandwiches and steaks. The staff and attention to the customer is above and beyond. I highly recommend this hotel. Try to get a low floor though.

My absolute favorite thing about the Utopian, besides the beautiful room that looked exactly like the photos but better, besides the complimentary coffee and snacks provided, and besides the walkable distances to most of the recommended sights of the city, was the park that is only a few steps away! We began each day with a stroll through the Crystal Palace gardens alongside the chickens and peacocks. We ended each day with a gorgeous view of the sunset there as well. The Utopian was fantastic! Our room fronted a busy street and was a bit noisy, but with the windows and shutters closed it was not bad at all.

Lovely hotel and the manager Nicholas looked after us very well. The mattress was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept on! The only thing we would change would be coffee/tea facilities in the room rather than a communal area.

Despite being a gold member and being told I’d be eligible for an upgrade and vip perks, I didn’t receive them at this hotel. There weren’t any actual amenities (gym, pool, restaurant, etc.) but the staff were friendly and communicative. The shower water pressure was nice, bed comfy, room small but that’s okay as I spent much of my time out of the room. Balcony was a nice touch.

Great location with easy accessibility to the olde city & waterfront restaurants. Lovely comfortably decorated apartment on a noisy street. Strangely Coffee/ espresso & tea machine was located in stairwell between 2nd & 3rd floors; hence guests had to exit their suites to get a hot drink! A kettle / offer machine in ea h apartment would raise the standard rating dramatically !

Surprisingly updated modern, spacious and well-appointed room in an old building. Only draw-back: lots of stairs to upper floor, but, thankfully, well air-conditioned room. Chambre spacieuse et très confortable. Pas de contact en présentiel avec le personnel, mais communication par Whatsapp, personnel très attentionné. Accès aux chambres par un escalier en bois parfois étroit (3ème étage), un peu difficile avec une grosse valise bien lourde.

I had an excellent stay at the Utopian Hotel in Porto. The rooms are beautiful, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and perfectly air-conditioned. As soon as you walk into the room, you immediately feel comfortable. I especially appreciated how quiet it was. Despite the lively atmosphere in the city during our stay, once the windows and door were closed, we could not hear any noise at all. Our room also had no overlooking neighbors, which made it even more peaceful and relaxing. The hotel's concept is also quite innovative. There is no traditional reception desk as you would find in most hotels, as everything is managed online. At first, this may seem unusual, but the system works extremely well. Every day, I received a message asking whether I needed anything, and there was always someone available to answer my questions at any time. I would also like to give special thanks to Grisha, who was absolutely wonderful from the beginning to the end of our stay. His professionalism, availability, and kindness truly made a difference. Housekeeping was provided daily, and the hotel was impeccably maintained throughout our stay. Overall, this is a modern, comfortable, quiet, and exceptionally well-managed hotel. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Porto.

A wonderful stay for 7 nights for while visiting Primavera sound festival my 4th in Porto and easily team. Hotel staff communicating daily via what’s app to check everything ok. Great location close to many great bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again
