Very comfortable bed. The only issue was with the shared washroom, there was only 1 toilet/shower shared with 4 or 5 rooms with 2 to 4 people in them on the second floor. Trying to get your time in the washroom was challenging at times. There should have been at least two facilities on the second floor. Otherwise, the older home was very comfortable.

This was convenient for my needs, despite the bed being rather uncomfortable... also only having one share bathroom/toilet could be a concern in a busy time... fortunately it was very quiet during my stay so this wasn't an issue this time

The grounds are really nice; would be great if there were a couple of benches. Rooms are great, but my airconditioner was a little noisy and the bathroom fan is terrible and really needs replacing.

Easy check in, place was very vintage and charming looking. We were on the upper level and there is a lift. Room was spacious and quite comfortable. Shower was good. Parking onsite. Overall a very good experience.

The property was okay, fairly standard, but the shared bathroom was a one toilet and shower combined servicing around 10 rooms. So multiple waits to use the facility. Someone threw up everywhere in the bathroom on one night and the attempted clean up was poor.

It was super clean and quiet. Felt very safe. We had a bit of an issue with our key but the manager went out of his way to fix it and help us out. Very friendly staff. Would stay again if I was in the area.

I really wanted to like this place but I can’t get past how dirty I felt leaving. The building itself is lovely and has a lot of history just no upkeep to keep it clean. The blankets and bedspreads need to be washed and donated to a shelter for the winter they have water stains on them and stains in general just not something you want to pay money and sleep under, the beds need chucking on the tip you can feel every spring and have a hollow even when made up. The black cushion covers are gross, the window didn’t close properly and there were small cockroach's running everywhere. The place smells like mould and wet carpet rolled up in a walkway with a fan on it. The place has good bones, the dining area was dust free but I didn’t use the kitchen so can’t comment. I hope the place gets the clean up it deserves because the location is quiet, good parking and rich history. But currently I felt like I slept in the same beds that were there when it was a nursing home/hospital and the floor mats need cleaning they could talk ! Sorry but it could be so much better.

We have stayed here a few times over the years when in Sydney although the hotel appears to have a new owner now. When we arrived we had to call the owner to access our room & he was unsure of our booking ( which we had booked & paid for a couple of hours earlier )..when I asked about breakfast I was informed that it's no longer included in the price although the website clearly says it does ! There were cups in the room although no teabags/coffee etc...the bathroom ceiling has lots of mould & there was a hair in the sink The outdoor area needs maintenance such as lawnmowing & there was an overflowing ashtray on the small table outside the kitchen which was gross ! Needless to say we will no longer recommend or book this hotel again

We stayed for one night to go to a concert. The property was clean and tidy. Staff were very accommodating. Easy access with public transport as well as on site parking for whichever option you take. Close to restaurants too. Would stay here again.

The location was easy. Checking in was easy, just ring the number. The gardens and outside was lovely. The inside was tired, the dinning area was very dusty. Our room, the skirting boards, cornices were very dusty and cobwebs, you could open the window but chose not to as dirty and dusty, the white curtain was dirty. The bathroom was annoying for us as the floor was always wet as the shower was open to the room. Please also maintain the mould situation in the bathroom,it is not good.

This accommodation sits in a gorgeous garden and the building itself is completely lovely. What wasn’t so nice was all the hairs we discovered on our sheets. Very ill indeed. The check in was a bit weird too.

First of all, beware! Darcys DOES NOT provide breakfast - even-though it states it does on au.hotels.com. Surprise, surprise, they're refusing to pay a refund! If you're in an upstairs room, forget about having Wi-Fi access....we couldn't even get the free unsecured Wi-Fi in our room, let alone the secured (password) network. Lastly, our door keycards kept failing. The ONLY benefit of staying at Darcys? Its proximity to Homebush Station.

Very quirky hotel nestled in suburbia with a few shops and a reasonable restaurant only a few minutes walk away. Very spacious rooms set in a very old building that oozes charm and with the period furniture you feel you are staying in someone’s home rather than a hotel. I would certainly stay here again.

The rooms are absolutely lovely....but the Wi-fi wasn't working and I had a heap of work to do. The gentlemen running the place said they would investigate the Wi-fi issue, but they never got back to me and it didn't work all night. I barely slept a wink because I was staying on the ground floor. Hallways are polished floorboards and very echo-ey. At all hours of the night, people were clunking around on the polished floorboards and talking loudly which echoed. Pillows were those horrid, heavy, soggy pillows like your granny had 100 years ago. My booking said breakfast was INCLUDED....but they don't even serve breakfast! Nice place to stay but do not stay on the ground floor and don't expect breakfast.

Peaceful, fuss-free, secure room in a big historic home in quiet, leafy surrounds. Best price so close to Olympic Athletics stadium. 5min walk to train station. The house was full but hardly saw or heard any other guests. The worst part was the all-night beeping of the pedestrian box at the traffic lights nearby. Needed to sleep with window closed, but luckily we had air conditioning.

An email was sent to avoid this, however after no response, it will be put here that no dining was available, WiFi didn’t work, room cards were left out for anyone to walk in and take. The staff took it upon themselves to enter the room while we were sleeping and woke us up to tell us we were checking out. Still had close to an hour left until check out, this was very unpleasant and unprofessional. The main entry is also left ajar all night….

Great location near trains, as we attended an event at Olympic Park. Easy check-in, room keys were waiting for us to pick up. Even let us check in earlier then expected. Not a 5 star motel but for the budget price is very nice and clean guest house, and conveniently located close to town. Highly recommended for those on a budget 👍

The staff were waiting for me when I arrived and were very helpful and friendly. The location is good and the room was spacious and comfortable. Everything worked, everything was as described, nothing went wrong (which is unusual in my experience with hotels). Will stay here again for sure.

The staff were waiting for me when I arrived and were very helpful and friendly. The location is good and the room was spacious and comfortable. Everything worked, everything was as described, nothing went wrong (which is unusual in my experience with hotels). Will stay here again for sure.

This is my fourth stay here in 11 years. It’s convenient to Olympic park. Parking is not a issue if you park and then Uber to your evening destination.

It is a short walk to Strathfield Station, which allows rail access everywhere. To the Sydney metro lines snd country trains - within NSW and beyond. The combination of low cost and access are strong attractions for me.

Great location near trains, as we attended an event at Olympic Park. Easy check-in, room keys were waiting for us to pick up. Even let us check in earlier then expected. Not a 5 star motel but for the budget price is very nice and clean guest house, and conveniently located close to town. Highly recommended for those on a budget 👍

We stayed for one night to go to a concert. The property was clean and tidy. Staff were very accommodating. Easy access with public transport as well as on site parking for whichever option you take. Close to restaurants too. Would stay here again.

Our stay at Darcys Hotel at Homebush was very pleasant. It was a great location for us to access an event at Qudos Bank Area and visit the city for some sightseeing. We discovered some great local places to eat and would definitely stay again.

We were attending a concert at Homebush. It was a 5 minute stroll to the train station and then an easy train journey to the stadium. The local shops are terrific with great cafes and eateries. It felt very safe to walk from the station late at night. The building itself is a former grand home with an ugly /70's or 80's add on. The original part of the building is furnished with antiques and is quiet, spacious and very clean. I would have no hesitation in staying again in our room which had an ensuite and was generously proportioned. The bed was very comfortable and we were able to have it nicely heated. It represents great value price wise given how handy it is to the station and the local village shops.

The house was full but hardly saw or heard any other guests. The worst part was the all-night beeping of the pedestrian box at the traffic lights nearby. Needed to sleep with window closed, but luckily we had air conditioning.

The property is gorgeous and in a pretty peaceful area. I would have loved my stay, but the lack of WiFi, the false advertisement of continental breakfast that didn't exist, and the fact that management didn't respond to my questions about the breakfast were very frustrating.

We have stayed here a few times over the years when in Sydney although the hotel appears to have a new owner now. When we arrived we had to call the owner to access our room & he was unsure of our booking ( which we had booked & paid for a couple of hours earlier )..when I asked about breakfast I was informed that it's no longer included in the price although the website clearly says it does ! There were cups in the room although no teabags/coffee etc...the bathroom ceiling has lots of mould & there was a hair in the sink The outdoor area needs maintenance such as lawnmowing & there was an overflowing ashtray on the small table outside the kitchen which was gross ! Needless to say we will no longer recommend or book this hotel again

First of all, beware! Darcys DOES NOT provide breakfast - even-though it states it does on au.hotels.com. Surprise, surprise, they're refusing to pay a refund! If you're in an upstairs room, forget about having Wi-Fi access....we couldn't even get the free unsecured Wi-Fi in our room, let alone the secured (password) network. Lastly, our door keycards kept failing. The ONLY benefit of staying at Darcys? Its proximity to Homebush Station.

The rooms are absolutely lovely....but the Wi-fi wasn't working and I had a heap of work to do. The gentlemen running the place said they would investigate the Wi-fi issue, but they never got back to me and it didn't work all night. I barely slept a wink because I was staying on the ground floor. Hallways are polished floorboards and very echo-ey. At all hours of the night, people were clunking around on the polished floorboards and talking loudly which echoed. Pillows were those horrid, heavy, soggy pillows like your granny had 100 years ago. My booking said breakfast was INCLUDED....but they don't even serve breakfast! Nice place to stay but do not stay on the ground floor and don't expect breakfast.

Mixed feelings about this place mainly due to there not being any staff on site....apart from the cleaner in the morning. Building is lovely and room was spacious with everything we needed. Just felt spooky as some days we seemed to be the only people there. Room key card often didn't work so had to call a number and be guided to a "secret" stash of cards. Colonial style accommodation with a lot of character. Clean, quiet, comfortable and walking distance to the train station with free street parking out the front. “Check-in” process was unusual. Front door was propped open with a door stopper and there were a bunch of keys in envelopes on a table. I wasn’t too keen on the front door being constantly propped open as it didn’t seem overly safe given there didn’t appear to be any staff on site, however each room had a locked door opened only with a swipe card. Only person I ever saw was a cleaner that knocked on my door half way through our stay asking what time we were leaving. I would definitely stay here again. Short train ride from Olympic Park or only $14 in an Uber.

We booked 2 rooms for 4 people. Information about arrival was very poor. We had been given a number to call on arrival, or told to knock on the front door. On arrival we phoned the number we had been given, but no answer. There was a phone number to ring at the front door, but that only gave us the number we already had. Luckily someone staying at the property assisted us and showed us where to find keys to our rooms. We would have appreciated that information prior to arrival. Air conditioner remote not working in one of the rooms, but luckily the remote from our friend's room worked. No plug for wash basin, (to shave) or hair dryer, so borrowed them from friend's room. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds.
