El Ray Motel

The amount of steps were a bit hard to do. No ice machine but everything else was good

This is my second time staying here, and I absolutely LOVE it here! The managers are so warm and welcoming. I booked a last-minute, mother-daughter trip and got this room for an absolutely unbeatable price. Ironically, I'm staying in the same room I stayed in 6 or 7 years ago. I have nothing but good things to say about the El Ray! It's super close to the boardwalk and beach (right in front of the Convention Center). There is ample parking, and the rooms are very clean and beautiful! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Our room was literally spotless when we arrived. We will most definitely be coming back in the future! 5 stars across the board for sure! Please ignore the 1-star reviews. In my opinion, they're all bogus. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the pool. Someone claimed that "four people almost drowned because it goes up to 9 feet and you have to sign a waiver that releases the hotel from responsibility if you get hurt in it." Just about every hotel I've ever stayed at in Wildwood makes you sign a waiver, and the pool is VERY CLEARLY marked with signs telling people how deep it is in which spots. Our room is absolutely spotless and everything works perfectly. I've talked to a few of the other guests and seen another room, and it looks just as beautiful as ours. I think some people are too picky and will find anything to complain about.

This hotel is very outdated. They don’t even have an icemaker for people who want ice the price of the rooms do not match what you get in the rooms very disappointing will not be coming. Back. Parking was atrocious too many cars for the space that was given.

Property is so old definitely needs renovation, it’s clean but so old. I book a suit or at least that’s what they call it but actually it’s a room divided into two, each room has a small bed . Only one electric outlet in the whole suite, the AC is blowing directly on the bed few inches away. The grill was filthy nobody cleaned for a long long time. The best thing about this place is the location. Not going back.

Room was quiet. AC was cold, actually turned unit down during a 90 degree plus heat wave. Pool/room & property were clean.

My husband and I did a quick day trip and ended up staying over night. We arrived early and the staff was nice enough to let us checkin early. They also upgraded our room and no additional charge. The hotel is a bit outdated but the cleanliness was 10/10. There’s a nice size pool on the property that goes as deep as 9ft so please be careful. Over all we will be back! Great staff. Great stay!

The staff is very accommodating & friendly. The pool is immaculate. The hotel is old & dated & needs some bathrrom repairs. Fair price for the convenient location.

The staff are excellent, the pool was super cold, the surrounding tenants were very noisy until late at night.

I think the pool should stay open until 8pm considering it doesnt start to get dark until 9pm.

Television didn’t work, remote broke held together with tape. Holes in wall, rusty pipes, railings… Staff was pleasant

I was so disappointed as soon as I walked through the door. I have to admit the people were extremely nice at the front desk and I was hoping that this wasn’t going to be a nightmare being that they did not do any type of refunds, but this place was totally ridiculous. Our door was so close to the pool. You can smell the chlorine through the walls. There was a bubble in our bathroom from water damage that looked like it was gonna bust anything the bathroom floor stay flooding. We kept having to put their towel down, which made it that we had no towels so we had to go and buy ourselves some towels to use. The microwave was dirty. We never used the refrigerator to microwave the toaster nor the coffee maker because everything unsanitary especially since it was located right next to the bathroom that had the leak and smelled like urine all day long actually the whole time we were there we kept the window to the bathroom open. The shower stall was disgusting. It seemed like we had to take a shower with shower shoes or our flip-flops or whatever on because our feet should never hit that floor. The little sign that tells you what TV channels are was gross and disgusting. There was some human substance on the back of this thing so when you picked it up, you don’t know if you were touching boogers or what so that means the cleaning crew did not clean that room properly. When I went to tell the front desk all he did was give me a brand new one and told me to toss the nasty one away.

It was a nice room for a last min stay. It was very out dated but clean. The staff is very nice.

Our entry door was apparently kicked or forced open at some point. The door jam was barely screwed back together. The deadbolt did not line up to slide into the jam. The door knob was loose and barely held the door shut. This is the main entry door into the room. We wedged a chair under the knob to hopefully help hold the door closed if someone pushed against it. The toilet seat was extremely small and uncomfortable for anyone to use, especially a bigger person. Had no hot water in the bathroom sink. The blinds were 1/2 missing which allowed everyone to look into the bathroom from the outside while being used.

The motel is a very comfy place. It has three floors and the surroundings are quiet. The room is pretty big and it has a great view of the boardwalk and the wildwood sign. Place is great it’s only a half a block away from the boardwalk. Staff is really polite and gives you recommendations.

We had a nice experience. Comfortable room especially beds with a balcony. People at the office were very nice. Family trip. I would recommend this place for families. Nice environment.

It wasn't terrible, but the rating on hotels.com is way too high. It's average at best and is in need of updating. Half of the outlets didn't work and the A/C never shut off regardless of what temperature it was set at.
