We stayed in the honeymoon suit and it was excellent, fabulous views from the extra large window seat, which we loved and spent most of our time sitting in when in the room, definitely worth the additional extra cost. The evening meal in the restaurant was exceptional too. I would definitely recommend.

The room was wonderful & exceptionally clean. The bathroom was small but well thought out, again, exceptionally clean. Air conditioning in the room which was a definite added bonus following a long walk! Coffee machine with complimentary tea, coffee & hot chocolate, and proper milk too! Very lovely touch. The staff were very friendly & were able to tell us about the history of the building along with ideas for walks in the area. We chose to walk into Middleham for the evening, around a 50 minute walk. It was a straightforward walk there, pretty much all downhill, but getting back was a little trickier - we didn't fancy walking, Uber said they were available but weren't! We have a lovely local to thank for the lift back.so.if you choose to walk, expect to have to walk back or I believe there are local taxis that would need pre booking - it's all in the guest information in the room. Breakfast was amazing, the restaurant is beautiful, clean, wonderful staff & a great ambience. The grounds are fantastic, a lovely pond to sit by, walks around the area & Forbidden Corner should you chose to visit. All the grounds are very well maintained, clean & tidy, it was so peaceful & relaxing. Would definitely recommend & perhaps we'll be lucky enough to stay again
