Crescent Bay Inn

Great access to Creacent beach, property had umbrellas, chairs even some boogie boards available for use which was fantastic to take the short walk down to the beach! Very helpful staff in getting us set up to catch the Laguna trolley.

Excellent location with easy access to Crescent Bay beach and close by to a trolly stop for access to downtown Laguna Beach. It is walkable to the main shopping areas, but best to take the trolley. They have a nice shower area for coming back from the beach and some chairs and umbrellas you can take down with you. The property management was very helpful with information about the area and the ocean view room had a wonderful view.

The property is about a mile north from the main beach and hub of Laguna. The property itself looks a bit dated but the rooms were clean and quiet. The beds were a bit soft and the pillows quite lumpy but luckily our backs and necks didn’t hurt. Towels were clean and rooms had a microwave and refrigerator. The staff was fine but not overly personable. The location was quiet and has access to smaller beach and a short walk to Crescent view point which was nice and very enjoyable. Parking on the property is included which is great but the spots are long and tight, so that will definitely be difficult with larger vehicles. All-in-all, a good option from a cost point for location, cleanliness and convenience.

Close to beach. Steep walk for my wife but very doable for me. Great parking, outdoor shower, beach chairs, umbrella, bouggie boards available,towels .. very easy location

Great ocean view from room and deck from bldg.3 top floor, good size room, no partition from bathroom to rest of room . Even if they put up a shoji screen for some privacy when using the sink would help.Shower was confusing with dual options. Remote for tv took a lot of maneuvering. Parking in the spaces under the rooms was difficult,as posts were in the way . Very convenient to the downtown area and 3 minute walk to beach! Sal the mgr.was very helpful.

Everything was clean and comfortable and the service was great, nice people in the front office. A short walk to the beach. And a nice fire pit area that I enjoyed while eating dinner.

This hotel was awesome. Clean, local to where we celebrated our anniversary dinner. Staff was so friendly & went above & beyond showing us the pathway to the beach, which was a 3 minute walk, even offered to start the patio fire pit for us. Only down side, we had an oceanfront room & the trees needed to be trimmed to see the ocean, but I believe it’s a property in front of the view. We will definitely be back!

Very short walk to the beach, staff extremely personable, clean and safe

Property was lovely, modern inside. Staff nice! Parking was covered and easy. My only issues were refrigerator in room 202 was not working. Also it was difficult turning on and off the shower head. Other than that, very close beach access and walkable to many places.

One of the main reasons I booked the hotel is that it's site stated breakfast is provided. Management told me on arrival that there is no breakfast, and that it shouldn't be on the website as they stopped serving breakfast during Covid. I believe they updated their website since. The photos of the firepit are not accurate. There are no cushions at all so the seating is uncomfortable. We were told the fire would be lit from 8-10. It was not and seems to be lit at the discretion of managment. There is a very bright flood light that shines directly on the outside seating area so it would be hard to enjoy a fire regardless. The posted office hours states it's closed at 10 pm. We arrived at 9pm to pick up teabags and ask about the firepit not being lit. The office door was locked and no one came out despite knocking. (The door was locked earlier in the day at 6 pm but the manager did come out when I knocked then.) We were told next day to have called which we didn't do at 9pm so as not to disturb the manager. Finally, there is little to no ocean view in room 304 due to overgrown trees and bushes behind the motel.This said, you can hear the ocean at night which was great. I would not stay here again due to the discrepant (wrong) information posted on its website and onsite which a reasonable person would not have anticipated, including my friend and me.

Property was just ok. We are use to cleaner places. Very dark inside room. We stayed 4 days and no house keeping. The owner was very nice and helpful. Free water and coffee. I would not stay there again because the rooms were very outdated. Close to beach but no restaurants. Parking was a nightmare.

What a gem! This was a wonderful experience. Clean, comfortable room. The bed was just right. It was a short walk to a beautiful beach and park with a vista point perfect for watching the sunset. Sal was a perfect host, giving us information on restaurants to try. They provided beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, and really were so accommodating. I can’t think of anything negative to say. It was just perfect!

Nice little motel, just a few minutes walk to the beach. Very clean room, comfortable bed. Modern bathroom fixtures. Would definitely start there again.

Our room a bathroom were so dirty. The tv didn’t work an I had to clean it myself. The manager had me help him get a tv from another room but the new tv had issues with the picture.

Needs renovation. Deck is deteriorating…scary to walk on…thought we would fall through. Furniture in room was was not standing straight due to sagging floor. Non-smoking room but it smelled of smoke.

My room had a beach view so it was nice to open my curtains each morning and see the water. The room itself was nice except for the carpet. The carpet is old and gives off an odor when entering the room. Also the air conditioner didn’t work so we were given a fan to cool off the room. Luckily it was cool outside so we were able to leave the window open.

When I went to the office to let them know how unhappy I was , the wife was seething with hate and the owner blamed everyone else . The stairs going up to the room were dangerous and the walkway was old , rotted looking . It is called an inn , but there’s no food or drinks. The door to the lobby(if that’s what you could call it) was always locked . I felt unsafe. The owner was as rude as you can get, blaming me for picking the room, like I had a choice .

My room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Had cable and internet. Close to beach. Walking distance. Clean air and quiet. Will stay again when im in the area.

Very nice Hotel. Sal is very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and nice. Easy Trolly or Lyft to downtown. Will definitely stay again when in town.

The hotel seems great for the price. The bed is comfortable and the room nicely organized. The Wi-Fi seemed to be a bit spotty but other than that it was great.

The walls are very tin. We could hear our neighbor arguing for over an hour at 2:00am. Also the fridge is very loud as it turns on and off.

The property is older but the room was clean. There are no premier channels to watch just local channels and there was a line running down the middle of the tv that was annoying to see when your trying to watch a show. The so called ocean view is hindered by brush and tree over growth. I wouldn't pay an extra $20 a night for that but you can hear the waves crashing on shore. Walk to beach is more like a 10 to 15 minute walk depending on your speed. Comfortable beds but a bit pricey for a no frills hotel.

A little run down, and in need of TLC. TO say we had a “view room” is a little deceiving because of the trees, and you could only see the water from a great distance. There isn’t any area where you can sit and see the water unless you want to sit on the edge of your bed and look out the window, which really defeats the purpose. Even though everyone was really nice and the room was clean it was a little bit disappointing.

Location is close to beach and parking is included in the rate, rooms are renovated and well appointed with comfy bed, excellent shower. We had a quiet room with a little sliver ocean view and could hear the waves. Sal is really nice and helpful about the trolly to festivals and restaurant options. Good for a quick overnight or cheap weekly stay a short distance from the super crowded main beach area.

A person was actually inside the lobby but there was no ringbell at the door, so we had to pay for an international call to wake him up! (as the given phone number was not registered in WhatsApp). Once in the room, we discovered that both the TV and WiFi were not working but we were too tired to call someone and fix them.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Location was close to all main attractions including the beach and a free trolley that runs throughout Laguna. A big highlight was SAL who runs the Inn. Absolutely a pleasure. Friendly, knowledgeable and has everything you need as well as great food referrals. It's rare staff is such a high point.

Not customer friendly when checking in. No phones in our room to request service or ask for information. Could not operate shower, handle has rusted screw, no instructions. Bare minimum motel not an inn. Bed has only 2 small pillows which were very uncomfortable. No continental breakfast.

The manager was a really nice guy who took time to explain to me the most scenic areas to go in Laguna. The property is a great location that's not surrounded by the activity of downtown Laguna.

This is a “no frills” motel (exterior entrances) within walking distance to the beach. Rooms have been entirely renovated and are very nice and very clean. It was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. You can walk into the Main beach area, or take a free trolley, it’s a very good location. The best part of our stay was the staff… Sal is one of a kind, and easily, the nicest motel manager you will ever meet! He went out of his way to meet all of our accommodations and was always asking what else he could do!! Thank you Sal!

The best part of the hotel was the room itself, which in contrast to the exterior of the hotel appeared to be completely updated and refurbished,. The exterior of the hotel, such as the decking and exterior stairs, show some definite wear and tear. The front desk person was quite helpful and friendly, but asked for a $30 fee to check in early (I arrived around 1 PM). I declined, saying I would return at 4 PM. The desk clerk relented and waived the fee. I've never been asked to pay an extra fee for early check in, and don't see the point of it: Either a room is ready, or it isn't. Here's the bottom line: for a clean room, a safe environment, and a reasonable price, this place is what you're looking for. If you are more comfortable in newer hotels/motels than in ones that show a bit of their age (this one is over 40 years old), look elsewhere. Lastly, an advertised 3 minute walk to the beach...um, more like 8-10 for the average human. On the plus side, the hotel is only a block or two from the free Laguna Beach Trolley, which can get you almost anywhere you need to go.

Great location

Its an older motel but very clean and the beds were confortable. I loved the soap and bottles of water left in the room. The walk to the beach was 5 minutes or less.

Fantastic location right on the PCH. Beautiful view of the bay from window in our room. Walkable to downtown area(about a mile) though there is a free trolley in the evenings. Conveniently located to Crystal Cove State Park. Beach is a two minute walk.

We love staying here. It’s a quick walk to the beach and there are several restaurants that are close and walkable.

The welcome was wonderful and informative. We got all our questions answered and felt great!

A very comfortable Inn in a beautiful location. A short walk to Crescent Cove which is a stunning beach popular with scuba divers. Laguna’s free trolley stops very close by making this a very convenient place to stay. Easy, free parking was also a plus. I will stay here again without hesitation.

A lovely location surrounded by beautiful views and alcove beaches. I walked everywhere and didn’t move my car once.

Convenient spot for getting to a run in Crystal Cove state park. Had to find a place to purchase decaf coffee for the Keurig coffee maker since they only provide regular coffee. I had no idea how difficult finding parking was on a weekend in Laguna!

The owner and staff were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. Its about a 3 or 4 Block walk to the Laguna Beach Trolley and that was an efficient way to get around, once one figures it out. Not many restaurant options nearby, but we enjoyed the downtown area most of the day.

The check in was very easy, the front desk gentleman had some great local knowledge and provided information on local transportation, times for the sunset and sunrise, and some restaurant recommendations.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Pretty much walking distance to everything or you can hop on the free Trolly about a block from the hotel. We will definitely go back.
