The owner was very friendly and approachable. This is not a hotel where you would find a butler or uniformed staff. This is a hotel in a tiny town - perhaps the only hotel in this tiny town. The building shows wear and tear from years of use but everything looked safe and clean. I've stayed in better places for the same amount of money but I've also paid more for worse. I did not dislike anything but neither did I find anything especially appealing.

This is just a place to sleep. The lobby smells bad and the breakfast is Sunny D and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I'm not kidding. PB&J for breakfast. The ice machine doesn't work and there's no elevator. But it was quiet and the bed was good.

It’s nothing fancy, but the room was comfortable. The main issue I had was that two of the three main lights in the room did not work, but the owners resolved it by moving me to a different room, so that was good. There also were no stoppers for the drains in either the bathtub or the sink. Breakfast was simple, but good. I liked that they were flexible on the timing.

The staff was great and very friendly. The property is extremely dated, has 70s carpet and likely the same bed spread. The property is dirty, I told my wife not to even drink the coffee out of the breakfast area because of the condition. The entry into the building was extremely unpleasant. We will likely not ever stay there again.

Staff was pleasant but the property is in serious need of investment and care. This property is overpriced for the state of the amenities. Our room had one of the worst paint jobs I've seen, a sink that barely drained, lights that didn't work, and carpet in serious need of replacement. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable and clean.

Attention to detail. We were a large group with several rooms. Some rooms didn't have towels, some didn't have TP some didn't have soap, etc. The light globe in the back entrance has at least 2 inches of dead bugs in it, fire hazard waiting to happen. I get you're not going to get a 4 or 5 star experience in Arlington, SD, but when you're paying the same rates as in Brookings, it should at least have basic supplies.

About the only place in town to stay. Owners are not very friendly and you have to ring the bell to get front desk attention. We had to routinely ask for fresh towels. The breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, toast and cereal. When we decided to check out a day early, we were not refunded a nights stay or given a credit voucher.

Upon checking in, found bugs all over in the room. Fabric chairs covered in stains. Could smell old smoke in the rooms. Smoke detector didnt appear to be functional and was also yellow with smoke. Staff was not helpful. Was told a manager would call me, but never did. They also charged my card three times and had to dispute through my credit card. Did not stay and had to find other accommodations. Travelocity should include bugs in their insurance coverage.

I was caught in the road closures by Sioux City Iowa during the recent flooding and came in late at 1 am. The person checking me in was friendly and kind even though it was the middle of the night and I am sure they don't have many customers at that hour.

We enjoyed that it was nextdoor to 1481 Grille in Arlington, where we were able to walk over to eat! We had a comfortable weekend stay. It was not too far from DeSmet, which was our destination for Laura Ingalls Wilder historical sites.

There was no soap in the shower dispenser. Breakfast left much to be desired. Cold pancakes. At least there was a microwave to heat them. Beds were comfortable, location was good for what we needed. Could use some updates

Clean room, easy to park. Small gravel around parking lot sticks to shoes and you carry it in to the room. Limited local restaurants, limited items in continental breakfast, no local breakfast options!

This is just a place to sleep. The lobby smells bad and the breakfast is Sunny D and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I'm not kidding. PB&J for breakfast. The ice machine doesn't work and there's no elevator. But it was quiet and the bed was good.

The property needs updating. The smell of Indian food was super strong when we arrived, the breakfast was a loaf of bread, a half full jar of peanut butter, frozen pancakes made from a mix and put in a Rubbermaid! The sink and tub was super dingy, the chair in bedroom was old and crusty, need I go on?

Run down. Old warn sheets and bedspread. Very loud A/C. No cups in room for water. Uncomfortable beds and pillows. Only cereal and toast for breakfast.

Tried to ask about shortening my stay prior to check in. The owner told me that I had to go through the booking affiliate. Upon needing to shorten my stay the affiliate told me I had to have the hotel do it. When they finally agreed, they tried to short me 20 dollars because their nightly rate wasn't the same as the itemized hotels.com rate for the hotel. The hotels.com rate was higher for a Friday then the hotel was willing to return. Won't ever be staying at this hotel again.

Economical place to stay in Arlington for a long weekend. Room was clean but smelled a little damp and musty. Beds slept good and room was quiet with the a/c fan running. Breakfast consisted of a communal loaf of bread to make toast along with a tub of margarine and jars of jelly and peanut butter for toppings. A couple of different kinds of prepackaged sweet cakes were also available. Jugs of milk and juice were in a small refrigerator to pour and a coffee maker rounded it out. Room had a microwave and small fridge so we grabbed some microwaveable food from the nearby grocery store. 14/81 Bar and Grill is right next door with good food and entertainment in the evenings. Overall a decent place to stay if you want to be in Arlington rather than paying double to stay in Brookings.

The shower has no shelf or rack for wash cloth, shampoo, or soap. Without a toilet seat or counter, it was hard to keep personal items from falling on the floor or in the toilet.

We stayed 2 nights. There was NO cleaning done during our stay. Nothing refreshed, garbage wasn't emptied Nothing. Only staff I saw was when we checked in.
