Stunning, very spacious suite accommodation with lovely countryside views from the room & balcony, and nice touches like real milk in the fridge for your tea and coffee! Food also excellent. Definitely worth paying the bit extra for.

This hotel is the 'Jewel in the Crown' and it offers superb views from your bedroom balcony or windows and incredible facilities.Your bedroom is extremely large and effectively serves as an apartment. Comfortable beds and attentive housekeeping services will be found. The en-suite, equally large with all facilities. A small fridge is provided (complete with fresh milk for tea/coffee). The owners are very much involved in the running of the hotel and nothing is too much trouble for them. My wife and I were attracted to stay at the hotel by the ratings which it had received from other guests and we certainly support the 10 out of 10 star rating. The guest rooms are outside the main hotel complex but it is a very short walk across the car park for breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant. We visit Derbyshire quite often and this hotel will be our only choice for future visits.

A five star hotel/B&B. Good location and amazingly quiet at night. Garden rooms were massive with separate lounge areas. Very well equipped and very clean and modern. The addition of a private patio with furniture is a special bonus. The staff were lovely. The restaurant was amazing with good choice and lovely presented food .. the full cooked breakfast can only be described as spectacular. Well recommended and hope to come back.

Fantastic stay as always. This is our third time here and it will not be our last. Perfect hosts, great food int he restaurant in the evening and a wonderful breakfast. Extremely comfortable and spacious rooms. Very quiet at all times, excellent parking and great location to explore the area.

The View was a wonderful find. Our room was spacious and clean with facilities that you would expect in a top notch hotel. It was great to sit on the private patio and look out across the countryside. Staff were very polite and friendly. Food was good with a varied choice of breakfast items.

This is a lovely room, set in tranquil and beautiful setting. The family that owned it were lovely and did whatever they could for us. The log fire was fantasic to sit next to as we ate a meal that competed with the 5 star buxton crescent we were at the night before. Breakfast in the morning was equally as good, the chef made me poached, scrambled and fried eggs (my request) all perfect. We felt well looked after and valued as customers. The decor/atmosphere in the pub was the only thing I thought could be improved but nothing that will prevent us from coming back again!

We had one night here and were really impressed. What stood out when I was booking is these were actual suites where as a lot of accommodation was above a pub. These suites were in the grounds, modern and had lots of space. Like a holiday cottage but with the convenience of the pub for food. The owners were exceptionally friendly, felt like nothing was too much trouble for them. Food at night in the restaurant was really good, all done to a high standard with locally sourced ingredients. Same with breakfast the next day. Highly recommended.

On arrival it was very welcoming and friendly. We were early and the room was ready. We had a drink in the bar with a log fire. The room was just fabulous. The food was fabulous. No complaints what so ever. Will be staying again

Breakfast is amazing and very high quality. Best orange juice I've had and top quality fresh fruit with granola. The owners are very welcoming. Will definitely stay again.

This was an amazing find. Purpose built rooms built into the edge of a hill with beautiful views. The room/suite was spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean and extremely well equipped. The breakfast in the adjoining pub was delicious. Couldn't fault it.

The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was extremely comfortable with a large, very comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge and amazing, double sinks, huge shower and a bath, very modern. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel and we were very happy with our stay there.

The room was large, clean, light and airy, quality fittings, lots of storage space and a great terrace and view. There was a sofa and armchair, very comfortable and still lots of space. The bathroom was large too, 2 basins and toiletries. Fresh milk in the fridge ( no manky uht cartons) and plenty of tea and coffee. The mirror/dressing table had a socket below so you can dry your hair properly, rather than guessing as in so many other hotels! Nice breakfast with good healthy choices, great fresh fruit salad. The area is very peaceful, great location.

Wow!! What a fantastic find. We had a great stay. The staff and owners went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Our room was superb. Incredibly well thought out and spacious. A real luxury feel with wonderful shower, bath, lovely toiletries and PROPER milk!! We often get frustrated at hotels when there is no plug close to the mirror when blow drying your hair or no plug next to the bed for recharging the phone. Not at The View! Here everything well thought out and beautifully presented. The evening meal and breakfast was delicious - thank you. We will definitely recommend.

The room and view were very nice, lots of room and comfortable bed, the pillows could and should have been of a much higher quality. The lighting in the bathroom was under par and not good enough for the cost. Not enough clear lightening for applying make up or having a shave, no magnified mirror in bathroom and poor lighting. the restaurant food we had was very good and reasonable in price. No complimentary slippers which was disappointing

We had a wonderful stay at The View. The room was lovely, very spacious and overlooked the rolling hills, plus it was quiet. The staff were very friendly and attentive and breakfast was delicious and all cooked and prepared to order. We had one evening meal at the pub itself which again, we couldn’t fault. There is so much to do around the area and we will definitely be going back. A true gem of a find!

Lovely room in a brilliant location. Food was excellent. As a business traveller, the breakfast starting only at 8:00am is a challenge but they offered me a tray for my room the night before. Comfort wise the only slight niggle at this price point was polycotton sheets and a rubberised mattress protector. Otherwise perfect.

Wow!! What a fantastic find. We had a great stay. The staff and owners went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Our room was superb. Incredibly well thought out and spacious. A real luxury feel with wonderful shower, bath, lovely toiletries and PROPER milk!! We often get frustrated at hotels when there is no plug close to the mirror when blow drying your hair or no plug next to the bed for recharging the phone. Not at The View! Here everything well thought out and beautifully presented. The evening meal and breakfast was delicious - thank you. We will definitely recommend.

This is a lovely room, set in tranquil and beautiful setting. The family that owned it were lovely and did whatever they could for us. The log fire was fantasic to sit next to as we ate a meal that competed with the 5 star buxton crescent we were at the night before. Breakfast in the morning was equally as good, the chef made me poached, scrambled and fried eggs (my request) all perfect. We felt well looked after and valued as customers. The decor/atmosphere in the pub was the only thing I thought could be improved but nothing that will prevent us from coming back again!

Exceptional good place to stay, staff were unbelievable (in particular Georgia) Food and drinks were very, very good and at a fair price with anything requested accommodated with no fuss :-) Would and have highly recommend this place for people to stay - we will stay longer than the two nights night time - even when Wimbledon is on!

The room was large, clean, light and airy, quality fittings, lots of storage space and a great terrace and view. There was a sofa and armchair, very comfortable and still lots of space. The bathroom was large too, 2 basins and toiletries. Fresh milk in the fridge ( no manky uht cartons) and plenty of tea and coffee. The mirror/dressing table had a socket below so you can dry your hair properly, rather than guessing as in so many other hotels! Nice breakfast with good healthy choices, great fresh fruit salad. The area is very peaceful, great location.

The addition of a private patio with furniture is a special bonus. The staff were lovely. The restaurant was amazing with good choice and lovely presented food .. the full cooked breakfast can only be described as spectacular. Well recommended and hope to come back.

This is a jewel in the crown place to stay. Exceptionally peaceful, yet within short drives or walks you can be in key parts of the peaks including Matlock , Bakewell, Chatsworth etc & then like towns like Clay Cross etc. Rooms was huge and beautifully appointed. Food breakfast and meals if you eat lunch or evening there was excellent and the staff attentive, courteous and very helpful.

Fantastic stay as always. This is our third time here and it will not be our last. Perfect hosts, great food int he restaurant in the evening and a wonderful breakfast. Extremely comfortable and spacious rooms. Very quiet at all times, excellent parking and great location to explore the area.

This was an amazing find. Purpose built rooms built into the edge of a hill with beautiful views. The room/suite was spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean and extremely well equipped. The breakfast in the adjoining pub was delicious. Couldn't fault it.

We absolutely loved our stay at The White Horse, our room was superb, so spacious, furnished and decorated to the highest standard. We were fortunate with the weather and were able to relax on the balcony and enjoy the view across the surrounding countryside. It was our wedding anniversary the night we stayed and dinner was fantastic, the food was very tasty, beautifully presented and served. The next morning, we had a delicious freshly cooked breakfast. All the staff we met were very friendly, attentive and welcoming. We would thoroughly recommend The View at The White Horse and look forward to returning.

Third time I have stayed here and had the exact same fabulous experience. The rooms are fabulous, the views are stunning and the food is exceptional. Breakfast and dinner are incredible. The staff are amazing.

Lovely room in a brilliant location. Food was excellent. As a business traveller, the breakfast starting only at 8:00am is a challenge but they offered me a tray for my room the night before. Comfort wise the only slight niggle at this price point was polycotton sheets and a rubberised mattress protector. Otherwise perfect.

We really loved our 2 night stay at The View. Our room was absolutely beautiful and we had a meal in the pub on 1 night which was great too. Really recommend this place. Unfortunately we went in a heat wave and because it is south facing with a lot of glass it was extremely hot - but there was a good fan which just about made it bearable. We will definitely be back though when it isn't quite so hot !!
