The hotel construction was going from 6:30 am to 8pm.The remodeling was very loud banging and the elevator didn't work.We had to walk up/down four flights of stairs.The staff was helpful and courteous.

It was renovating and the work from 10am to 5pm disturbed, especially when it rained on one of those rare days in July/Aug. The hotel addressed this very well, upgrading our room and putting us on half board. Will stay again.

The room was nice. The water stayed hot for two people to take showers. But the noise from the music they play at night was ridiculous! The place is made of tile so the sound just reverberates off all the surfaces. It was so loud and nonstop until almost midnight. I think they have a live band at night. Would not recommend this place

Good enough to be right in the heart of mombasa. Walkable to mombasa mall. Great patio entertainment every night. Just the main reception charges extras for guests. My other hotel didn’t do it so it must be a company decision to do that. $2000 ksh per night. That’s a lot compared to booking for 2 travellers when booking.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed the room, pool and service from staff. They were very helpful and ordered us a taxi for the trip back to the airport. A staff member also volunteered to assist us with getting change for a tuk tuk. Would stay here again.

The hotel is a walkable distance to the spice market and the old town. The staff was incredible, the room was spacious and the pool area was great for breakfast or to just relax. Special thanks to Laureen and Fahad

The photos don’t do the rooms justice. Very comfortable and spacious. The staff are all very attentive and hospitable! Food at the restaurant was also lovely. AC is good and strong in the rooms to cool you down after a day in the Mombasa heat. Well above and beyond expectations for the price.

Ble tatt kjempegodt imot, svært imøtekommende og serviceinnstilte ansatte. Rommet var fint og rent. Upåklagelig service. Det som trekker ned er en del støy fra oppussing. The hotel was nice but they didnt have WIFI on 7th floor. I struggled for a whole week of stay without internet. I asked for a room swap and it was denied. Staff dont provide feedback and you must follow up on your requests severally before they addressed. The towels are old and some are worn out.

A lovely clean hotel but without doubt the best experience was the quality of service by the staff where nothing was too much trouble. If you want quality service with friendly helpful staff then look no further that the Hotel Sapphire. I will definitely use this hotel when I return later in the year.

I had a good, short stay. The staff were all very nice and welcoming. My room was pretty standard but it was clean and comfortable. My room card and the packet it was in was a little old and dirty but I assume it’s because they reuse them. I had some trouble getting a good WiFi signal, but luckily didn’t need it too much having stayed on a weekday. The safe in my room also didn’t work, but I didn’t mention it because as I didn’t really need it having only stayed one night. I was staying one floor above the restaurant so it did get a little loud at night but I didn’t mind because it was quiet before I went to sleep. The breakfast buffet was very good, offering a lot of options including traditional Kenyans and Swahili food. Overall, a solid stay.

Super søde personale, flinke og høflige, meget rene værelser, central belegenhed, men et stort problem var at jeg var i Ramadan da, og moske ved siden af, sang meget højt Quran frax18 til 22 og aller væreste fra morgen kl. 4 man kunne høre meget belastende Azan, jeg var 2 nætter der og kunne slet ikke sove. Så jeg ved ikke, om det er altid sådan fordi det var lige ved siden af moske eller det var sådan pga. Ramadan. Men jeg blev sindyg , kunne ikke holde ud.

Hotel Sapphire surprised me at how big it was with good restaurants and excellent service. It was very convenient to the commuter rail station. I had a comfortable stay with a clean, air-conditioned room. I wish the government in Mombasa would do more to clean up the area around the hotel because the location could be a great place for all kinds of travelers and locals alike.

Food ordered through room service was mediocre. The single best thing about our stay was the staff. They were very accommodating and kind.

It's a decent place to stay. Room is noisey but staff are friendly and helpful. Room service quite good. Buffet breakfast quite good too (though only instant coffee). Do not disturb sign ignored by staff and woke us.

Absolutely excellent service. We had a wonderful Swahili breakfast with a lovely server that explained every dish to us. It was very special and we would definitely stay at this hotel again. Very reasonable price for what we got as well.

The hotel was nice but they didnt have WIFI on 7th floor. I struggled for a whole week of stay without internet. I asked for a room swap and it was denied. Staff dont provide feedback and you must follow up on your requests severally before they addressed. The towels are old and some are worn out.

I had an excellent stay at The Sapphire. The service and hospitality were outstanding. My room was comfortable and the food was very good. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Sam at the front door and Brenda at the front desk were especially helpful in addressing my queries. Good enough to be right in the heart of mombasa. Walkable to mombasa mall. Great patio entertainment every night. Just the main reception charges extras for guests. My other hotel didn’t do it so it must be a company decision to do that. $2000 ksh per night. That’s a lot compared to booking for 2 travellers when booking.

Ble tatt kjempegodt imot, svært imøtekommende og serviceinnstilte ansatte. Rommet var fint og rent. Upåklagelig service. Det som trekker ned er en del støy fra oppussing. Maten i restauranten var god, vi benyttet oss av frokosten en dag, den var helt ok. Sentral beliggenhet. Super søde personale, flinke og høflige, meget rene værelser, central belegenhed, men et stort problem var at jeg var i Ramadan da, og moske ved siden af, sang meget højt Quran frax18 til 22 og aller væreste fra morgen kl. 4 man kunne høre meget belastende Azan, jeg var 2 nætter der og kunne slet ikke sove. Så jeg ved ikke, om det er altid sådan fordi det var lige ved siden af moske eller det var sådan pga. Ramadan. Men jeg blev sindyg , kunne ikke holde ud.

Hotel Sapphire surprised me at how big it was with good restaurants and excellent service. It was very convenient to the commuter rail station. I had a comfortable stay with a clean, air-conditioned room. I wish the government in Mombasa would do more to clean up the area around the hotel because the location could be a great place for all kinds of travelers and locals alike.

After arriving and checking in, we ordered a meal in the dining room by the swimming pool as a couple with 4 children. We ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 pizzas for the children to share. It took nearly 2 hours for the food to arrive!!! Very poor service for such a simple meal from the menu. The room was well appointed and comfortable. We booked 2 packet breakfasts as we were due to leave the hotel at 5:30am. We were so disappointed... 3 small slices of watermelon and some warm flatbread. Nothing else - not even a drink. The worst packed breakfast ever...!!!

It's a decent place to stay. Room is noisey but staff are friendly and helpful. Room service quite good. Buffet breakfast quite good too (though only instant coffee). Do not disturb sign ignored by staff and woke us.

Absolutely excellent service. We had a wonderful Swahili breakfast with a lovely server that explained every dish to us. It was very special and we would definitely stay at this hotel again. Very reasonable price for what we got as well.

Music from the restaurant went on until midnight. Air conditioning didn't work in one of our first rooms. Room service brought up a bottle of Coke, but no bottle opener. Food ordered through room service was mediocre. The single best thing about our stay was the staff. They were very accommodating and kind.

The photos don’t do the rooms justice. Very comfortable and spacious. The staff are all very attentive and hospitable! Food at the restaurant was also lovely. AC is good and strong in the rooms to cool you down after a day in the Mombasa heat. Well above and beyond expectations for the price.

I had a good, short stay. The staff were all very nice and welcoming. My room was pretty standard but it was clean and comfortable. My room card and the packet it was in was a little old and dirty but I assume it’s because they reuse them. I had some trouble getting a good WiFi signal, but luckily didn’t need it too much having stayed on a weekday. The safe in my room also didn’t work, but I didn’t mention it because as I didn’t really need it having only stayed one night. I was staying one floor above the restaurant so it did get a little loud at night but I didn’t mind because it was quiet before I went to sleep. The breakfast buffet was very good, offering a lot of options including traditional Kenyans and Swahili food. Overall, a solid stay.

The bathroom was spotless and looked amazing, with a great shower and very clean facilities. As a traveler from Canada, I was particularly impressed by the level of cleanliness and overall quality. There were no bugs or bed bugs, and the hotel was maintained to a standard that reminded me of a Marriott hotel. Everything felt comfortable, safe, and welcoming.
