This is a small, centrally-located gem in the walled city of Valletta! My room featured creative details and a large bathroom, which more than made up for the interior view. The restaurant offers an ambitious (and delicious) dinner menu and an extensive breakfast. The most delightful aspect of the hotel: Alfredo, who went out of his way to help with my itinerary, free street parking, and even breakfast!

This sweet little boutique hotel within Old Town Valletta met our needs perfectly for three nights prior to boarding a cruise ship. They can arrange a shuttle from the airport for you so that door-to-door access is possible. Outstanding restaurant in-house (Risette). Great staff. We absolutely loved it.

I travel solo and like to have some luxury when I travel. I also enjoy staying in the city centres and where possible and affordable I choose historic properties....if their walls could talk! Casa Ellul did not disappoint. Check in was quick and staff was very friendly and helpful especially Sladjana. I booked a room with a rooftop hot tub - what a treat to have after long days of sightseeing and walking the hilly streets! The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was divine with very personal attention provided by the servers. I appreciated the recommendation for a personal tour of Malta and Gozo - very qualified tour guide from Malta Holidays. And the transportation arrangements made to/from the airport was extremely helpful. And being right across from the Teatru Manoel during the Baroque Festival was beyond convenient. I highly recommend a stay at Casa Ellul.

Casa Ellul is a small gem with an excellent restaurant. The chef was able to devise an outstanding dinner for us based on our vegan requirements. The staff were extraordinarily helpful, even coming around a tea time with treats. The location is in the historic part of Valleta but is still very quiet. Recent renovations have restored the character of the building with a modern touch.

Casa Ellul felt comfortable, and the owner Matthew Ellul and his staff work hard to have their guests feel at home. Their rooms are well appointed, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. Their restaurant is top shelf and the chef creates a wonderful "tasting menu", if you want to experience the next level in fine dining. I highly recommend that you experience all the comforts of Casa Ellul for your trip to Malta.

Es begann mit einem soooo herzlichem Checkin von Alfredo und Carolina .... man hat sich sofort wohl gefühlt. Unser Room 6 war genauso wunderbar, wie wir es uns gewünscht haben. Die Terrasse ist ruhig mit einer grandiosen Aussicht . Das Frühstück war sehr gut und reichlich. Das ganze Team immer sehr bemüht. Ein großes Danke auch an Peter für die schnelle Problemlösung in der Nacht. Wir werden in Valetta immer in der Casa Ellul absteigen.

Staffs were wonderful.. Hazel and crew. Were very nice.. However: my booked rooms roof was leaking. Second room#5 was the best. The third nights room had smells and had to climb to my sleeping area. Middle of the night had to find my way down to the washroom going steep stairwells….

Top Tier Stay! Everything about my stay here was fantastic. The staff were exuberant. The location was central yet quiet. The rooms were comfortable and had character. The complimentary breakfast was made to order and quite tasty. Casa Ellul was one of the best stays I’ve had in a very long time and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone traveling to Malta.

It is a typical Maltese house which has been remodeled for a boutique hotel. Great job! Room was nice and full of space. It is in a great location for reaching walking any area of Valletta. And the ferry for Sliema. If you need to get a taxi or uber they can get to you on both corner of the street 1 min walking from your hotel. Breakfast is very good and open till 10.30 which is very nice if you sleep one morning longer. And the staff is just super: helpful, nice and caring. Lot’s of restaurants around it. We will be back.

Casa Ellul did not disappoint. Check in was quick and staff was very friendly and helpful especially Sladjana. I booked a room with a rooftop hot tub - what a treat to have after long days of sightseeing and walking the hilly streets! The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was divine with very personal attention provided by the servers. I appreciated the recommendation for a personal tour of Malta and Gozo - very qualified tour guide from Malta Holidays. And the transportation arrangements made to/from the airport was extremely helpful. And being right across from the Teatru Manoel during the Baroque Festival was beyond convenient. I highly recommend a stay at Casa Ellul.

This sweet little boutique hotel within Old Town Valletta met our needs perfectly for three nights prior to boarding a cruise ship. They can arrange a shuttle from the airport for you so that door-to-door access is possible. Outstanding restaurant in-house (Risette). Great staff. We absolutely loved it.

Top Tier Stay! Everything about my stay here was fantastic. The staff were exuberant. The location was central yet quiet. The rooms were comfortable and had character. The complimentary breakfast was made to order and quite tasty. Casa Ellul was one of the best stays I’ve had in a very long time and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone traveling to Malta.

Casa Ellul is a small gem with an excellent restaurant. The chef was able to devise an outstanding dinner for us based on our vegan requirements. The staff were extraordinarily helpful, even coming around a tea time with treats. The location is in the historic part of Valleta but is still very quiet. Recent renovations have restored the character of the building with a modern touch.

Spat var jätte mysigt på takterrassen och hotellet ligger bra till i Valetta med närhet till det mesta du vill upptäcka av den lilla staden. Personalen på hotellet är super trevliga och hjälpsamma. Frukosten var perfekt där du beställer från en meny istället för att plocka från en buffé.

I spent one night at Casa Ellul (Suite #3) and I've been very disappointed by the hotel. I almost never write bad reviews, but the room was so dirty that I have to share my experience. There were moisture everywhere on the walls and ceiling, and the bathroom door's hinges are covered in rust. I didn't feel comfortable because of that, and when I wrote to the manager after check-out to kindly find an arrangement and keep things privately, I haven't got any answer. This (the dirty room + lack of reply to my email) is not what I'm expecting from a location that's part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, for which I've paid €260 a night. Also, the sound isolation is weak so I could hear the street noise all night long and the light is very cold/blue-ish which is not very cosy as we can imagine with the pictures. I won't come back for sure.

We stayed only one night. Really nice hotel, wish it could have been longer. Do yourselves a favour - book suite 7. Triplex type of arrangement, terrace with loungers and a hot tub on top floor. It’s ann absolute suntrap and feels miles away from the hustle n bustle below. Will go again.
