Atelier Skalo Boutique Hotel

The hotel was perfect! The staff were very helpful and nice. The room was clean, very big and has everything we need. We would definitely stay here when we come back to Curazao. We love the place and highly recommend it!

Location

Location was great and check-in process smooth. Stairs to the second flr rooms (no elevator) are steep and narrow so although they can be precarious for those that are mobility challenged, our room was clean and well equipped. Once unpacked, we found the shower to be spacious enough, but the water ice cold. We assumed that we were the last in the building to use it due to the late hour, and slept comfortably. Next morning, the shower was still cold and so we reported this to the front desk and authorized their entrance to the room to investigate. Upon return to the hotel that evening, we took a third ice cold shower and went to the front desk to check the status of the resolution. Nothing had been done to repair the lack of hot water, and we were told that no other room was available. On the afternoon of Day 3, still no hot water and then the plumbing backed up into the room. I reported this to the front desk and they offered housekeeping to mop the floor, clearly unbothered by our situation and frustration. At this point, we felt that we had no choice but to move to another hotel as no other rooms were available. The Front Desk offered to refund 1 of our 6 nts paid, (even though we only stayed 2 nts) and that they would keep the remainder. We reached out to our booking agent for assistance, to no avail. We then had to pay for a second hotel, just to have hot water for our vacation. To date, the hotel has still not refunded our card even for the 1 night offered.
