This place is a true gem! Everything here is dedicated to providing the guest with a home away from home—with a touch of decadence. There are lovely chocolates and biscuits available in the lounge, along with coffee and tea, at all times. The lounge has a small library and comfortable chairs, too. The shared kitchen is incredibly well stocked. The colour-coding of rooms and crockery is brilliant, as is the numbering of pantries and refrigerator shelves. As if that isn’t enough, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are thoughtfully designed and the location, in a small neighbourhood, is unbeatable. Even the detailed guest guide is superb: restaurant and grocery recommendations, along with hours of operation and walking directions! That was super helpful. We were also spoilt. We had the blue room, which has a balcony, which meant that we got to eat our breakfast outside or sit there in the evenings stargazing. It also gave us a little extra ventilation during the heatwave. In the daytime, the staff closed everything up to keep the heat out, too, which meant that our room was cooled down when we returned. We absolutely loved Max and will return.

Sauberes Zimmer und ganze Umgebung, freundliches Personal, schöner Sitzplatz auf grünem Rasen, gutes WLAN, nette Aufmerksamkeiten wie gratis Wasser und Äpfel etc. Nur Einstellung der Wassertemperatur in der Dusche fand ich etwas schwierig.
Sauberes Zimmer und ganze Umgebung, freundliches Personal, schöner Sitzplatz auf grünem Rasen, gutes WLAN, nette Aufmerksamkeiten wie gratis Wasser und Äpfel etc. Nur Einstellung der Wassertemperatur in der Dusche fand ich etwas schwierig.

We really enjoyed our stay at this villa. The location was perfect and easy to find with parking available on property. The check-in and check-out processes were really simple and we arrived at our own time without needing to coordinate with the front office. The villa itself was spacious and had really big windows...would definitely define this is having that "European charm" that a lot of people look for since the building was clearly old but well renovated to keep the look while having more modern amenities. The shared kitchen on the ground floor came in super handy since there was several grocery stores a short walk away so we were able to make our own food during our stay. Would highly recommend staying at this property if you are looking for accommodation in the Bern area.

We really enjoyed bringing a light dinner and beers home and eating on the balcony. Peaceful neighborhood and kind host. Free public transport is a wonderful plus, and it is a very short walk to the tram line which can take you anywhere - including the top of Gurten.
