Panorama B&B

My partner and I did lots of research on where to stay in Aguas Calientes and picked this based on the reviews and because it was within our budget. We ended up booking a superior room with a terrace and river view. However, immediately upon checking in, our room wreaked of mold/smelled horribly rotten and was full of moths. We couldn’t even really use our bathroom because it was so moldy and we could feel ourselves breathing in mold as we tried to sleep even when keeping the bathroom door closed. It was so bad that we almost moved to a different hotel entirely. Additionally, turns out the terrace for our room was shared with the room next door (unlike any of the other rooms). This meant the people in that room could walk over and look into our room anytime they wanted (would’ve been nice to know this when booking). Finally, the WiFi was down when we arrived and did not return for at least a few hours. On a more positive note, the hotel did provide breakfast (bread, fruit, cheese, cold cuts). The beds were also incredibly comfortable and the river view was great (also was nice white noise while sleeping). They will also store your luggage for free while you visit Machu Picchu. However, when we picked up our luggage there was a sticky black tar like substance on our bags… Overall, would not recommend as it was incredibly overpriced for what you receive, especially considering the dangerous mold conditions.

The hotel itself is quite nice, although a 4th floor walk-up after a day of hiking is challenging. The area around the hotel is not very appealing, but the view of the river is inspiring and it was fun to sit on the balcony and watch the hikers stumble homeward. It is downhill from the buses and all the best restaurants so not ideal.

We had a great stay, location was perfect and walkable and quiet. Right in front of the river which sounded amazing. Great water pressure and warm shower. They had breakfast bright and early enough for our early tickets to Machu Picchu. Friendly staff. They also were able to hold our luggage while we waited for our afternoon train.

Rooms are basic, though rooms (especially top floor) have great view of river (across the street) from balcony. Staff was very accommodating for luggage storage and unlimited tea/wifi after visiting Machu Picchu. Breakfasts are hearty and large. Staff was willing to help with printing and bus tickets for weary travelers. Property was quiet and benefits from being farther away from train station.

This place has the best view. With it only being 8 units it’s a quiet and unique place.

Amazing view, ask for the 4th floor! Also please be aware that if you are staying here during their summer time that there is no ceiling fan, air conditioning and no mosquito net for the door/windows. Other than that we had an amazing stay and the their breakfast was pretty decent.

Our balcony had an amazing view and it was wonderful hearing the sounds of the river. The bed was comfortable and the staff was so kind. They allowed us to store our belongings before we checked in and even after we checked out. Recommend!

The staff here were incredibly friendly and helpful! The room was spacious and had complimentary tea & bottled water when we arrived. The breakfast was adequate, the balcony was lovely & the beds were comfortable! Location was perfect, just a short uphill walk to get to the train/bus station and main square! Would absolutely recommend this little B&B.

It was pretty good. It looks better in the pictures though. The bathroom shower never drained while you were in it so you were almost taking a bath by the end. But the water was really hot which I appreciated. Oh if you need a wheelchair, this hotel is not for you. I was on the top floor and there were only stairs, no elevator. I would stay here again.

Panorama was perfect for our quick stay of one night before Machu Picchu. Lovely staff, clean and comfortable rooms (loved the natural soap), great breakfast, convenient, and they allowed us to store our bags while we visited Machu Picchu for the day. Great!

Was great. Clean rooms, hot showers and great mattresses. Only thing to improve is better pillows :)

Staff was very nice and helpful. Property is small, not too busy. Staff kept the place clean but there were a lot of flies and mosquitos inside, including at breakfast around the food.

Its an average property, nothing exceptional compared to the price. Rooms are old and rusty

We really liked the room with river/Mountain View’s. The views were amazing. The room was clean and the people at the front desk were very nice and pleasant. It’s located away from the buzz of all the people so it is quiet, and right in front of the river and massive mountains. A couple of small nits I do have are that the bathroom door wouldn’t close, and the shower would fill up with water. Overall, very happy with this hotel.

We had terrible experience. Room is not clean and smelly. Shower drain was not working. There was no window mesh to protect from mosquitoes.The worst hotel experience ever.

Clean room, all the amenities I needed, and the best view. The staff was very kind and gave us great information about where to go and how to navigate the crazy bus system to Machu Picchu.

Thanks to the reception desk and kitchen staff — they were super friendly and genuinely helpful. All the positive points go to them. The missing two stars are for the following reasons: We booked this hotel well in advance and ended up paying more than 30% higher than the rates closer to our stay date — over USD 100 per night on a non-refundable rate. When we later realized the location would not be suitable for work that required a quiet environment, we tried to change or cancel the booking through Hotels.com, but no flexibility was offered. Upon arrival, we were informed that all rooms face the street and the river, and that there are no quiet rooms available. There were people gathering on the street directly in front of the hotel, and they stayed outdoors on benches overnight. As a result, we spent the entire night with constant river noise, street activity, and noticeable dampness in the room. The rooms are also quite small. The hotel is the second-to-last property on the street; while this doesn’t make much difference in such a small town, it does mean there’s no added advantage to booking very early. My advice: reconsider whether early booking is necessary, and be extra cautious with non-refundable rates. In my case, I didn’t realize I had selected a non-refundable option until I needed to cancel due to potential noise issues.

Honestly? I wouldn’t stay here ever again. The water in the shower was cold and never heated up. The guy at the front desk indicated that it would heat up after an hour and it didn’t. The wifi barely worked. It’s next to the street where the dogs barked all night. There were no cups in the bedroom for making tea or coffee. And there was little space to put your own things in.

Pluses are awesome attentive staff, nice breakfast, clean comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. It is also in a quiet part of town... some hotels are located very close to bars and restaurants that can get noisy. Negatives are that the rooms are small, sparse and dark. They could use more hooks/other devices to hang clothes. Very dark even with all lights on. We used a flashlight to look thru our suitcase in the evening because the room light was so poor..

We stayed overnight at the Panorama B&B after spending the afternoon at Macchu Picchu. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the room had a beautiful window view. The room was very clean. However, upon trying to sleep at night, I did not find the pillows to be very comfortable at all and the noice from the vehicles on the road kept me up most of the night. Very unfortunate as it was a nice little spot.

Super comfortable bed after a long traveling day. Not many frills, but piping hot water and comfy bed are an excellent start.

We had a room with two twin beds, which worked out fine and the beds were very comfortable. Overall, the room was a decent size and the shower was large with good water pressure. The balcony was very small, but did have a very good view made service did a great job cleaning the room thoroughly And everybody seemed friendly. It is at the far end of town so you always have to walk uphill to go anywhere, but it also gets you into a quieter area. There are multiple restaurants within a couple minute walk. The bus station to Machu Picchu was about a 10 minute uphill walk.

Great place to stay for the price. Some people complained about it being a little loud - which is a little true if you are an extremely light sleeper. It is located at the edge of town and is quiet outside of when the busses start in the morning and the river, which is super calming, but even then it is not too loud. 3 minute walk into the center of town and bus station. Would stay again.

Aside from the amazing staff here my friend and I were not really happy with our experience at the Panorama B&B hotel. It is very close to nature and away from the busy area of Aguas Calientes so that’s a plus. The main issues we had were the extremely small rooms, lack of hot water (You HAVE to take a shower in the morning or it’s all gone by 5pm), and extremely thin walls (you can hear everyone and everything). There was no bathroom counter space, only one mirror, and no space to get dressed, so if you’re 2 women traveling it is very difficult to get ready for the day in this hotel room. Due to the issue with heated water I had to take 2 cold showers before bed. It was so hard to fall asleep and stay here because of all the noise that could be heard outside of our room. We won’t be staying here again and I wouldn’t recommend as well.

The front desk at this hotel was better than most 5 star resorts. The woman at the front communicated with our guide, and got us messages from him. Remembered us evert time we came back to the hotel and asked about the activities we had already talked about. The gentleman that hosted breakfast was just as wonderful. He cooked us eggs and remembered ud every time we saw him. He taught us different Spanish words, and helped us in any way he could. He even came up to our room to tell us our guide had arrived. Top notch service

He made me feel like I had my own personal concierge, walking me through everything I needed to be ready for the early morning adventure. One of the standout features is that they start serving breakfast at 4:30 AM, which is perfect for anyone catching the first bus to Machu Picchu. It’s clear they understand the needs of hikers and go out of their way to accommodate them. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet—exactly what I needed to rest up before a big day. I’d absolutely recommend Panorama B&B to anyone planning a hike in the area. The service, attention to detail, and thoughtful amenities make it a standout choice in Aguas Calientes.

Fantastic stay! The views are amazing, and the place is a few min. of walking distance away from the center of the town. The hospitality was superb, the staff is very accommodating and met all our needs, including helping us with luggage to and from the train station (also a few minutes away). Very clean and quiet, all you hear at night is the stream of the river. 5 stars

The staff at Panorama B&B are truly gems. Amerigo at the front desk always had a big smile to greet us every time we saw him. He got us oriented to Aguas Calientes and made sure we had all our tickets lined up for Machu Picchu. We had a lovely chat with Juan Carlos at breakfast despite the obscenely early hour (we had 6am tickets for MP). It’s an easy walk to the bus stop and there’s an adorable park directly across the street where you can relax and enjoy the sounds of the river. This was one of our favorite stays in Peru!

What a great hotel! Can't beat the view of the mountains and the sound of the river, absolutely gorgeous. Staff members were friendly and helpful, breakfast was great, the location is great. Definitely a 10/10 experience!

The hotel is a nice bed and breakfast, and located in a safe and quiet area. Walking distance from the main areas of Aguas Calientes.

The location was close to the train station. The staff was ridiculously nice. The breakfast was extremely tasty and was available quite early. The best part was the view and sounds from the river nearby.

About 10 minutes walk from the train station. It is not in the middle of the tourist area so it is quiet at night.

Es una gran opción si te quedas en machu Picchu pueblo, está a 5 minutos caminando de la parada de buses y la estación de trenes, el personal fue muy amable y sirven un buen desayuno desde las 4:30 am que en nuestro caso fue de mucha utilidad pues teníamos el primer horario de entrada a las ruinas

The room was amazing and worth the price for the view alone. The room was clean, comfortable and decorated wonderfully. The proprietor was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Highly recommend!

The beds were very comfortable and I slept the best at this hotel during our 3 week trip to Peru. The staff were always available to help with any questions or concerns and made sure we had what we needed. We appreciated that they had bottled water for sale in the lobby and that they stored our packs on our day of check-out until we were ready to catch the train to return to Ollantaytambo. The breakfast was good; they provided freshly cooked eggs and an assortment of breads and cereals and other items (yogurts, fruits). The shower was nice except in the evenings, it wasn't hot, but maybe that's normal there. The water was warm enough to get by though (not freezing cold).

Amazing service, the employees are great people. My only comment is about the pictures of the room with balcony to enjoy the river. The balcony is very small and not comfortable. My expectation in regards of seating in the balcony to enjoy the outdoor couldn’t happen . The breakfast is excellent and the care of employees is above expectations.

Pretty nice place for 1 night. Had limited time here, but it was clean and well taken care of. A little expensive, but that's Auguas Calientes for you. Beds were comfortable enough and shower was decent, although there was limited hot water. Breakfast was just okay.
