Excellent hotel. The rooms are comfortable and the facilities are excellent. Only drawback is that you have to pay for sun loungers on the beaches. Otherwise cannot recommend highly enough.

The staff work hard to keep the hotel and its amenities clean. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. One item that was consistently disappointing was how often we were told we were unable to have umbrellas at the pool due to wind. 2 of our 4 days we were unable to have an umbrella. There is no other shade on their pool deck whatsoever, so if you’re being safe with your sun exposure, you essentially eliminate a massive and expensive amenity you have paid for. Of course the wind is not in the control of the hotel, but the umbrellas they purchase is. The connection between the umbrella and the base is only about 12-15 cm and it is not fastened in any way, so of course the wind makes it dangerous; it can just slide right off. We spent days at beaches where the wind was much greater than the hotel (we actually checked the weather app and are not just guessing) and we were fine to use umbrellas because they were fastened properly. One other frustrating aspect was that they throttle your ability to use your room’s air conditioning. The room got quite warm one day, so I asked about it and they changed the setting on the thermostat so I could set it lower. They were very helpful with this, but it was frustrating we had to ask. Overall, we had a good stay, and the staff do truly take great care to provide you with a clean and enjoyable experience, but there were a few unfortunate aspects about our stay that we don’t believe we should have encountered paying nearly 350 euros per night.

A big hotel but with some great facilities such as 3 pools spa and breakfast included. Quiet location with easy 10 minute bus link to the town. Amazing views and lovely weather. Staff friendly and helpful Surrounding area is mainly hotels and a small outdoor shopping centre that has seen better times! But has a mini market and a couple of cafes if you want to escape the hotel

We stayed early October, pools and facilities still all open. Staff were helpful and very polite. Hotel is great, everything you could want. Easy 3 min walk for bus. 5 min walk to the most beautiful views on the coast promenade. Head to the Royal hotel and walk through to the promenade from there, it is stunning and also gives you lots more options of restaurants and drinks. Sunset from anywhere on the prom is stunning. Breakfast at the hotel was great, everything available, quality fresh foods. Same for the evening buffet, so much choice and made fresh 35 euros if it’s not included in your stay. The poolside restaurant has seats outside and in shade, it’s open and looks very modern, menu is good for lunch and snacks, pizzas are great and also the pasta. The room was spacious, bed comfy, good size balcony, and we loved the bathroom, very modern and a huge shower. Clean and fresh. We booked excursions through the hotel, concierge service was informed and helpful, very easy booking and felt confident we had everything arranged. They even made us a breakfast box to take away on an early morning start. Very good service. Indoor pool and sauna were clean and very nice. Checked out the gym but didn’t use it, equipment looked everything you could need. We would highly recommend the hotel and would definitely return here ourselves. Thank you to all staff.

Loved our stay here. The infinity pool had amazing views, was super cold, and a perfect way to cool off in the summer heat. Breakfast buffet was delicious. The Old City and Port Gruz were easy to reach by bus or by uber. Staff were super helpful and kind. Highly recommend.

Área das piscinas fantástica com vista panorâmica do mar e quantidade de espreguiçadeiras totalmente suficiente. Área comum do hotel muito bonita e bem conservada. Quarto confortável, embora a tv nao seja smart, o que impossibilita o acesso à Netflix, youtube, etc. Localização em Lapad excelente (caminhada de poucos minutos do Coral Beach Club e da praia de Copacabana, além de estar tambem muito proximo de um centro comercial com alguns restaurantes, minimercado e loja de conveniência). Bom café da manhã. Acesso à Old Town por meio de ônibus (linha 6) com ponto final nas proximidades do hotel que termina a viagem justamente na Pile Gate. Estacionamentos gratuito cerca de uns 400 metros do hotel, mas eles transportam os hóspedes 24 horas por dia em um carrinho elétrico (golfe). Funcionarios muito simpaticos. Restaurante de piscina muiyo agradável.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were given a warm welcome when we checked in. Rooms were also clean and in good condition. We had no complaints, the hotel facilities were great!!

Booked a stay here for 7 days but we decided to leave half way because it wasn’t enjoyable staying there anymore. There were a few issues: - location - it’s nice to be along the coast but this is just so far away from old town (if that’s what you’re trying to do). There is a bus but the bus is kind of crazy— there are so many stops to old town and every stop so many people try to get on and they have trouble paying etc, it takes like more than 30 min to get to old town. - staff - we didn’t feel welcomed by the staff -housekeeping - the room did not feel sparkling clean. There was some gunk on the floor when we first checked in. - shower design - at least for my room the shower design was quite poor and a lot of water flowed I got eh bathroom floors every time we showered, it was annoying. - food and coffee - the restaurant by the pool served pretty bad coffee. There was also a hair in the chicken Caesar salad we ate. Also there are very little options for restaurants outside that are nearby. Lapad is still quite a far walk Overall we were done staying there and had to leave. But a few things that are good about the hotel, one being this aqua aerobic fitness program, it was so much fun! Would recommend you check that out.

The pictures on Expedia are lovely, this is the reason we booked. After arrival the hotel needs a make over. The rooms and corridors are tired and bit smelly in places. The pools, restaurants are the best part to this hotel. After a couple of days of heavy rain, there was leaks all around the hotel, with random towels placed on the floor to catch the water. All in all not a 4 start hotel. Average 3 . The staff did help us with some inconvenience which made our stay a little more satisfying. Thanks

Cons: - there’s a bunch of tiny ants, even after we switched rooms. The cracks in between the walls need to be filled to prevent this. - there were spider webs in a room that was supposedly ready for guests. - they have about 4 pools but the temp for all of them were kind of the same, they didn’t turn the heater on for any of them which was unfortunate. - no jacuzzi Pros: - hotel is beautiful and pleasant experience to stay in (aside from the ants which was the main reason it didn’t get 5 stars) - the food is decently good, the breakfast buffet was my favourite. The dinner & breakfast buffet gives you many options to choose from like vegetarian, dairy, and dairy-free options. - the service of all the staffs I spoke to was always professional and happy to help. - patio is huge with lots of seating options

Hotel had been modernised throughout and has a lovely breakfast/ Restuarant and bar area overlooking the tiered infinity pools, which overlooks the beautiful sea view and surrounding islands. The hotels external paintwork needs some attention but overall quality of rooms and bed comfort is excellent. Was less impressed with the smell of cigarette smoke coming from the office next to our room and throughout the reception lobby area. Bar and food prices were exceptionally pricey compared to other European destinations. Bar staff service was disappointing, for example wishing to charge 5 Euro for a can of Sprite when requesting a drink be topped up slightly. Bus into the old town can be caught outside the hotel and is only 12-15 mins drive.

First impression of the hotel was how clean it is and it smells AMAZING. Last impression was exactly the same. This hotel is so clean and fresh everywhere you go. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but that was brilliant. We only stayed Friday to Monday but I will be back without hesitation.

Over, it was great. Ines at front desk was outstanding. While we waited several hours to get our room, it was insufficient, dark, no view, overlooking a parking lot and a wall. Inez worked with us to accommodate us and finally put us in a room that was what we paid for. She was absolutely amazing and accommodate us thoroughly.

Gutes Hotel , sehr schöner Blick vom Pool auf das Meer, gute Busverbindung nach Dubrovnik,man sollte nur Zimmer mit Meerblick buchen da die anderen Zimmer von der Lage nicht schön sind,wir hatten Zimmer ohne Meerblick in schlechter Lage und haben das Zimmer getauscht da Schwalbennester mit Kot auf dem Balkon waren , das geht garnicht … Das Restaurant ist sehr gut, die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich, in Dubrovnik kann man aber auch zu fairen Preisen abends in schöner Umgebung essen, der Parkplatz für ein Auto ist weiter weg vom Hotel ,aber kostenloser Shuttle dorthin
Gutes Hotel , sehr schöner Blick vom Pool auf das Meer, gute Busverbindung nach Dubrovnik,man sollte nur Zimmer mit Meerblick buchen da die anderen Zimmer von der Lage nicht schön sind,wir hatten Zimmer ohne Meerblick in schlechter Lage und haben das Zimmer getauscht da Schwalbennester mit Kot auf dem Balkon waren , das geht garnicht … Das Restaurant ist sehr gut, die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich, in Dubrovnik kann man aber auch zu fairen Preisen abends in schöner Umgebung essen, der Parkplatz für ein Auto ist weiter weg vom Hotel ,aber kostenloser Shuttle dorthin

The hotel was a big disappointment, there is a big difference between the pictures where everything looks luxurious and reality, the room that I received was far for a 4*hotel,the room was outdated, with an unpleasment smell, I didn't like it and I change the hotel I went to Royal Blue where everything was wonderful

We stayed early October, pools and facilities still all open. Staff were helpful and very polite. Hotel is great, everything you could want. Easy 3 min walk for bus. 5 min walk to the most beautiful views on the coast promenade. Head to the Royal hotel and walk through to the promenade from there, it is stunning and also gives you lots more options of restaurants and drinks. Sunset from anywhere on the prom is stunning. Breakfast at the hotel was great, everything available, quality fresh foods. Same for the evening buffet, so much choice and made fresh 35 euros if it’s not included in your stay. The poolside restaurant has seats outside and in shade, it’s open and looks very modern, menu is good for lunch and snacks, pizzas are great and also the pasta. The room was spacious, bed comfy, good size balcony, and we loved the bathroom, very modern and a huge shower. Clean and fresh. We booked excursions through the hotel, concierge service was informed and helpful, very easy booking and felt confident we had everything arranged. They even made us a breakfast box to take away on an early morning start. Very good service. Indoor pool and sauna were clean and very nice. Checked out the gym but didn’t use it, equipment looked everything you could need. We would highly recommend the hotel and would definitely return here ourselves. Thank you to all staff.

The room was nice and the pool areas are great, staff were very helpful with sorting the parking and our luggage. However, the place needs major improvement in several areas. The hotel restaurant is very warm and hectic, as some dishes are made on the spot, we found the heat unbearable (probably 35 degrees), didn't enjoy the dining experience and really feel for the staff who have to stand over a hot stove! The restaurant needs to be air confitioned asap for the sake of guests and employees, as well food hygiene, as there are flies everywhere, including the food! I also didn't like the fact there was no seperate shampoo, conditioner and shower gel bootles, just a cheap 3in1 one. I unferstand the hotel attempts to "go green", but if you're paying £250 a night, you really shouldn't have to worry about bringing your own cosmetics. Also, the hotel doesn't really have its own beach , you have to walk to the president hotel-this isn't a problem as such, but the beach gets very busy in the afternoon and might not be suitable for people looking for a more relaxing environment.

Bathroom designed by a child. Our group had 4 rooms and all of us had issues with the showers. Water all over the floor in all our cases. Poor quality pump soap. Only one soup for shampoo and wash. Paying $400 a night, let’s not be a motel 6… Prices don’t justify the hotel nickel and diming. I understand Croatia is a hot spot now, but hotels have gotten greedy.

The view at the pool is absolutely amazing, honestly, dont know if there is a better view in Dubrovnik. Overall, the service is pretty high a the resort I would say. I would give the hotel 5 stars, however, the beds and pillows are HORRIBLE and the rooms and hotel itself is getting a bit dated. Breakfast was 4+ star as well, which was nice, however, it could use a bit more labeling. For the price we paid, I would expect better beds & a bit better condition property.

Over, it was great. Ines at front desk was outstanding. While we waited several hours to get our room, it was insufficient, dark, no view, overlooking a parking lot and a wall. Inez worked with us to accommodate us and finally put us in a room that was what we paid for. She was absolutely amazing and accommodate us thoroughly.

Loved the views outdoor pools and gardens Staff on reception appalling customer service. When I arrived I paid for public parking) having first contacted the hotel directly asking for information about parking during my 2 night stay . The hotel sent an email advising me to use public parking which I duly did. I was then told by the porter that the hotel had complimentary parking for guests. I courteously raised this at check in and was advised by the member of staff to show me the email which I did. No apology was offered or reimbursement but an abrupt and curt response stating it wasn’t his problem! I secured an apology only when demanding to speak to the manager. It appears that the response was from the head office but they have no knowledge of facilities rendering the question why are they responding to guest enquiries. I am fortunate to have never encountered this from any hotel I have stayed in before in 35 years On the last day of my stay I was chased after on the assumption that I was a criminal leaving without payment ( my entire booking was pre paid on check in with no incidentals) as I decided to load up my car at 9am as my parking ticket expired at 9.35 rather than leave breakfast and then again collecting my luggage before a check out of 10am. Again no apology rendered or acceptance that the situation may have been handled more diplomatically by asking whether I was checking out . I won’t be back . My husband and I were reserved for the Argosy hotel--but when we checked in-they told us we had been moved to the Valamar Tirena. First, one of the reasons we booked the Argosy is it overlooked the water. The Tirena does not. We were told that the Tirena was a higher rated hotel--it is not the Argosy has more stars (why did reception not tell us the truth?). They told us they were closing--only to find out that when we walked past there later that evening and the next day the hotel was full of people. We were not given the hotel we booked--yet--I still paid the amount that was quoted--and I was only given to the 5th to cancel--it didn't work in reverse--I feel that I am owed some type of compensation. At least a free drink? Nothing was offered.

We absolutely loved this property. I only wish we could’ve spent more time there. Definitely a great place to relax and enjoy the Adriatic. And if you take bus six, it takes you straight into old town and it’s only a short walk to the bus stop from the resort.

The hotel has amazing views of the Adriatic with some breathtaking sunsets to be seen. It's located quite a walk from the main town but is serviced by a bus every 15 minutes with tickets available from the hotel for a low discounted price which makes the stay perfect for those that want peace but also those that want to venture into the town. Excursions can be arranged from the hotel for competitive prices and the staff are always willing to help in any way they can. Plenty of seating around the pool and great food from the pool bar/restaurant. Nearby beaches are a short walk and there are plenty of restaurants with equally amazing views just a 10/15 minute walk along the coastline. We had a late flight home and checkout was 1000 however all amenities were made available to us including the showers in the spa area including towels. We really loved our stay.

Great location with a beautuful scenery to the ocean and greenery. Three big pools at the hotel and only 5min walk away to the ocean where you can choose to swim from the beach or rocks. A nice 15min shore line promenade to a closest center with more stores and restaurants. The hotel was overall clean and the staff super friendly and service minded. Brekfast buffé was good. I can highly recomend this hotel if you want a more low key, relaxing holiday without children.

Valamar Argosy was a wonderful hotel in the Babin Kuk area overlooking the main port where cruise ships dock in Dubrovnik. Although the hotel is a bit far from the old city of Dubrovnik, there is a direct bus line that makes the commute easy. Overall, the hotel offerings were ample and high quality, but it was in small areas that some inferiority crept in. The hotel leaked when it rained, and there was no soap in our room for the majority of our stay. These details are minor but did leave us feeling that we had overpaid for this hotel. Simply given the nature of trips to Dubrovnik, I would not recommend staying at the Valamar Argosy because most of your time will probably be spent away from the resort anyways, but if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay with plenty of amazing offerings, then this might be the hotel for you.

The perfect location, stay and overall experience at Valamar Argosy. Walking distance to shops, beaches, restaurants and a short taxi ride to the Old town. Professional and friendly staff, quiet hotel with great amenities such as spa, salon, shop, a few pools and dining options.

Had a comfortable stay here. Staff were pleasant enough but not the most friendly I have experienced at a hotel! We arrived with a half-filled shower gel and broken pump, that wasn’t topped up for the 5 days we were there. Food options during the day were limited, we ended up at Oliva’s almost every day. We were half board and charged €14 for two peppermint teas! Dubrovnik old town is close enough, a 10 min taxi. We just got Ubers that averaged £7/£8. Would definitely consider paying the extra and staying at the President next time.

Great hotel on the peninsula giving spectacular views of the coast and islands. We had a sea view (room 256) which was north facing so didn’t heat up with the glare of the sun but the views from the balcony were exceptional. We stayed B &B and the buffet breakfast was great with lots of choice but only 2 coffee machines for the whole room meant you had to queue to get a coffee. Also no fresh juice available only as an extra costs. The room, pool area and staff all great. Sun beds were a bit uncomfortable though. Back rest was very small and would only raise to one (low down) position and no cushion just mesh. The sun loungers on the beach we’re better but I was a fan of the pebbles and how hard it was to get in and out the water and the beach loungers were cheek by jowl with one another. Much more room by the pools. Pool experience would have been enhanced if they did a pool drinks service. Finally the prices. My god Dubrovnik is expensive but the hotel charging €3.20 for a small bottle of water and nearly €6 for a bottle of Pepsi!!! Overall though I would recommend the hotel and if you can afford a sea view room it is worth the extra ££ for that view.

We stayed early October, pools and facilities still all open. Staff were helpful and very polite. Hotel is great, everything you could want. Easy 3 min walk for bus. 5 min walk to the most beautiful views on the coast promenade. Head to the Royal hotel and walk through to the promenade from there, it is stunning and also gives you lots more options of restaurants and drinks. Sunset from anywhere on the prom is stunning. Breakfast at the hotel was great, everything available, quality fresh foods. Same for the evening buffet, so much choice and made fresh 35 euros if it’s not included in your stay. The poolside restaurant has seats outside and in shade, it’s open and looks very modern, menu is good for lunch and snacks, pizzas are great and also the pasta. The room was spacious, bed comfy, good size balcony, and we loved the bathroom, very modern and a huge shower. Clean and fresh. We booked excursions through the hotel, concierge service was informed and helpful, very easy booking and felt confident we had everything arranged. They even made us a breakfast box to take away on an early morning start. Very good service. Indoor pool and sauna were clean and very nice. Checked out the gym but didn’t use it, equipment looked everything you could need. We would highly recommend the hotel and would definitely return here ourselves. Thank you to all staff.

Excellent in every way, with the exception of one of their restaurants - Oliva Grill. 100% recommend staying at this hotel, just don’t go to that restaurant at all. The main buffet and external restaurants are better so it is easy to avoid. I have no idea why the quality doesn’t match the rest of the hotel

Hotel had been modernised throughout and has a lovely breakfast/ Restuarant and bar area overlooking the tiered infinity pools, which overlooks the beautiful sea view and surrounding islands. The hotels external paintwork needs some attention but overall quality of rooms and bed comfort is excellent. Was less impressed with the smell of cigarette smoke coming from the office next to our room and throughout the reception lobby area. Bar and food prices were exceptionally pricey compared to other European destinations. Bar staff service was disappointing, for example wishing to charge 5 Euro for a can of Sprite when requesting a drink be topped up slightly. Bus into the old town can be caught outside the hotel and is only 12-15 mins drive.

A Dream Stay in Dubrovnik – We Didn't Want to Leave! We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel and genuinely wish we could have stayed longer. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning views—everywhere we turned was another beautiful spot we wanted to explore or simply relax in. The amenities looked incredible, and while we didn’t have time to take full advantage of them all, what we did experience was top-notch. One of the biggest highlights? The breakfast. Hands down the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had—what a spread! Every detail was thoughtful, fresh, and delicious. This place has a magical feel and strikes the perfect balance between luxury and comfort. We can’t wait to come back and stay longer next time!

The hotel is only 20 min bus ride from the Old town and looks out to Sea and the islands. It is walking distance from two beach clubs. The hotel is clean, airy, modern and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is what u would expect for a 4 star hotel. The only thing missing is fresh juice and coffee and tea served at your table rather than at the buffet counter and coffee from a machine although it was drinkable. Staff polite and professional. Concierge service very helpful.

Excellent séjour, piscines extérieures excellentes et très grand hôtel (resort). Le restaurant a proximité de la piscine et l’accès à la plage de l’hôtel Président à proximité avec une réduction sur les transats est vraiment appréciable ! The staff are wonderful and the location is a quite beautiful corner of the peninsular of Dubrovnik. That being said you can see the years in the hotel, area is beautiful but quite far from the town, if you like staying in a resort environment then this is the place otherwise it can start seeming like a hospital. The staff are just wonderful, they are the best thing about the hotel, always polite and they genuinely take pride in their work. Not sure the price is exactly worth it, there are other Valamar hotels or hotels in the area that are more expensive but if you are spending this much anyway then worth adding a bit more for somewhere thats a little more contemporary.
