Sonesta Essential Augusta

No breakfast, no gym, no ice maker, no hot water, mold in the fridge, cigarette burns in the bedding, sex stains in the mattress that showed through the sheets, door handle to room broken, tv broken(someone did come to fix that!), clean bathroom and new furniture.

Room felt neglected sheets were not clean no tissue in bathroom,very poor wifi it only works in certain rooms they list that they have a pool but do not .I was charged extra 20 dollars for making a reservation for before 3pm they state they hav a continental breakfast but don't only have a thermos for coffee for the whole motel

They’re doing construction on the hotel so it’s really loud early in the morning and during the day. The owner is super nice but his wife is extremely rude. Once the construction is finished, I’m sure it would be much better.

To get to Sonesta you have to drive through the parking lot of a very sketchy looking motel. From the outside Sonesta didn't look much better. Broken mini blinds in windows. Broken air conditioners hanging out of windows. Hall windows on 2nd and 3rd floors open (air conditioners in hallways not working). I had a room with a king bed. Comforter was lumpy as heck. Broken handle on one dresser. Smoke detector ripped off wall. No toilet paper or any amenities in bathroom. No cup to take my nightly medication. The only plus was the TV and air conditioner in my room worked and the bed was very comfy. But I wouldn't stay here again.

The lobby looked clean and inviting but after that not good. Received no maid service unless requested, clean towels, empty trash etc. . Noise of something running on and off every 15 seconds, claimed it was the venting system, faucet in tub running all the time, carpets so dirty that white socks are brown on bottom, heat/ac unit filthy and when heat was attempted it smelled like something burning. Elevator made you wonder if it would make it up and down. Charged an extra $100 for an extra night. Broken tile on bathroom floor with sharp edges. Very, very disappointed and will never recommend Sonesta Essential to anyone, any where.

It was under construction. Room was a bit dirty in the bathroom. Said breakfast was included but no breakfast provided. It was a place to sleep and for that we were very thankful for but would of loved to know it was in a remodeling job.

Garbage piled at both ends of buildings smelled. The outside was filthy and littered. The exit doors were propped open all night. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. The front desk was rarely attended. Will not be returning.

The whole hotel smelled like smoke. My husband has asthma so it was a huge challenge. No breakfast as advertised. Fitness area was like a storage area with machine not even built yet. Rooms were good. Other than thin towels with dark stains on them.

The room was nice but they should of let me know they were remodeling. There was no gym or breakfast available. These things were mentioned as an amenity. I would of stayed somewhere else if known prior to booking.

The rooms were still dirty have pictures. The false advertisement for breakfast is not true. They don’t serve no breakfast. They only have coffee with sugar no creamer. It stains on the floor stains on the cupboard stains on the sheets. The towels are dirty.

Sheets were dirty and staff was not helpful at all. Mold was in the tub and there was no microwave so I had to go to the lobby to warn up my food. The TV remote didn't work for the TV so I couldn't watch anything

It was nice and quiet during the day; I work nights. The room smelled like smoke and had soft spots in the floor. The tub in the bathroom had stains. Okay for a quick night stay.

Roaches and bugs in my room. No central AC

Rooms were dirty from not being cleaned properly i pay for supplies and scrubbed toilet and tub and dirt ran off toilets and shower walls has not been scrubbed in a long time it was black and dirty running down tub and walls it was disgusting and full of germs i wouldnt put my pet in there.

Thankful I had my own towel. Bed linen and towels were dirty. There was also a smell of cigarette smoke inside.

When I arrived to my room the hall and room were filled with the smell of cigarettes (I hate the smell of cigarettes). The hallway is poorly lit giving it a horror motel movie vibe. I believe some of the guests were actively smoking as the smell of heavy cigarette smoking came and went during my two night stay. Upon entering my room, I noticed my carpet was hard or crunchy feeling which I thought was odd. I killed 3 spiders and my closet and bathroom shelves were covered in dust. The bathtub and shower walls were grimy and dirty. I don’t think my room had been reserved in a while and probably not cleaned prior to me checking in. I reported the tub issues to the front desk and they indicated they would send housekeeping to my room. However, when I returned to my room later that night the tub was not cleaned and my sheets had not been changed. I reported the cigarette smell upon checkout and the front desk staff said they would follow up as this was supposed to be a non-smoking area/facility. There is no sign on the main road to direct you to the Sonesta hotel as it sits toward the back of the road behind another seedy looking hotel called Heritage Inn. However, the exterior of the building is nice looking. They provide a continental breakfast but the hot foods were lukewarm/room temperature at best. The location is close to local malls and shopping areas, with plenty of restaurants to choose from. $507 for a 3 day/2 night stay and I didn’t expect luxury but decent service.

I am still here but expedia asked me to review and I will. Staff is generally nice,it's just the overnight gentleman that gets a bit grumpy. The room is great,you can tell the room is newly renovated, clean,big tv,comfortable bed. My room did not have a microwave. I don't understand you spend alot of money in renovations and don't buy microwaves. Its hidden in the back so its quiet. I seen in some reviews that the hallways smell like weed,they do,but staff has opened the windows in the hallway to get rid of the smell. Worth the money.

I don’t ever write reviews for hotels but this one deserves one. We booked a king bedroom. The hotel claims; pool, free wifi, breakfast, fitness center, etc. We got to our room and the entire place was a disaster. It reeked of pot and god knows what else. Get this! Our door didn’t even lock from the outside. The cleaning lady just left and said get someone if you go somewhere. It took us three conversations to get the manager to fix our door. There was no toilet paper, and again it took multiple conversations to get ONE roll. It was my husband and I staying and the kind bed only had two pillows. We asked for two more but they said no. There was no wifi. The manager said comcast was coming out but that the wifi doesn’t reach to the rooms. No breakfast, no pool, no fitness center. I truly felt unsafe at this hotel. The room next to me was screaming all night long. Cops were basically stationed in the parking lot. Music was blaring til 1am all weekend. I’m not a buzzkill. I stay at my fair share of hotels, but this was the worst stay I could have possibly imagined.

Spacious rooms , very historic. Change the blankets and curtains , and it will be complete. Keep up with the pest control . Masters is coming

Bathroom light switch did not always work. TV had a new license agreement screen and could not view any shows. Need Bed, carpet and tile was very nice. Tub/shower showed wear via a few chips in it.

I had to ask for a room change at midnight because in the next room they were screaming and they had loud music, I called the lobby to report the problem and they kept making noise I couldn't sleep all night

It’s your basic hotel room. It was clean. There was an issue with the hot water in the shower. I had to let the water run for about 10 mins plus run the sink and then the hot water kicked in. Other than that, the location was back off in the cut so it was very private and quiet.

I forgot the lady’s name at the front desk but her CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS WERE AMAZING!! TOP TIER!!! She has “Ritz Carlton” type of service!!!! Highly recommended as I’ll be staying again when I return next week.

False advertising. Chose this hotel because their ad said pet friendly—we travel with a service dog. Clerk said no pets allowed and would not budge, even for a service dog.

My daughter and I had come to Augusta to go to the Augusta Dental Institute. This was two weeks following the hurricane coming through. The tv would not work, but every hotel had the same problem, so it was not a big deal. The most important factor this hotel had was an awesome staff. We will be booking with them in a week when we return to Augusta.

No one was at front desk for ten minutes when I was trying to check in. It smells moldy and the room was 80 degrees. Needs airing out or freshness in the hotel.

Clean and comfortable rooms with comfortable beds. The lady at the front desk at night is the sweetest, kindest most helpful and most accommodating person in a hotel I have ever met. She will help you with anything possible and will make sure that you are 100% comfortable with everything in your room. Much appreciated especially when you're traveling with a toddler.

We were not able to stay because they didnt allow pets. It said online when the reservation was made that pets were allowed.

They asked for a 50 dollar deposit then turned around n kept it saying I smoked in the room when I didnt

Sat in the lobby for 30 minutes rang the bell and walked up and down the hall way then she gave me a card that didn't work so had to go wait another 30 minutes in the lobby for her to come out from a room she was cleaning. Left after that.

Loved my stay !! Staff was amazing!

The staff that work at this place are lunatics. They were trying to scam me out of money and tried to tell me I had to leave the hotel because I had 2 people in the room with me. When I checked in I put it would be 3 guest. I ended up leaving in the middle of the night because the owner was so disrespectful and imposisble to talk to.

Convenient location

The owners are very nice and helpful but the property is not good. Homeless people hanging around. Very noisy with people milling around at night and loud music coming from cars. I really didn't feel completely safe there.

The management was great and very accommodating! The motel was in good shape for the price. There was a nice bar next door and was convenient to Augusta National. The price was good given the Masters was going on nearby.

This property is extremely hard to find as you have to pull off the main street and drive through another motel parking lot to get there. It would be helpful if when a motel says they are pet friendly, they also mention that there is a non refundable fee and what that might be b4 the room is reserved!

Do. Not. Stay. Here. From the hookers/drug dealers out front to the bloody floss on the floor to the leaking toilet. This hotel is close to Augusta National…that is it. It’s not safe, it’s not clean and it’s not worth the hassel. Stay 5-10 miles away and drive in. This is THE WORST hotel to stay at. The staff at the front are kind but they allow the hookers/druggies to live in the hotel long term.

Heater did not work properly lights on each side of bed did not work. No toilet paper upon arrival no cups in bathroom and it was advertised they had breakfast but they did not.

False advertised Hotel. There is no free breakfast , each floor including the lobby its smoked out. The lienings are very stained and old. The hot water does not get hot,, horrible experience.And I will never book with this hotel again

The picture that they show is not the same hotel at all, it is 100 percent a different place and it said it has breakfast included and that is a lie as well, the attendant said they have not had breakfast for 6 months
