Once I accepted I was entering "Jurasic Park", Tikal Inn was easier to live with. We also had an amazing chat with one of the brothers (out of 5) that co-runs the hotel, and he agreed on every aspect below. The hotel is from the 50's. It aged a lot. but its still functional. Some aspects we have to live with such as: the hotel is inside a preserved area, so electricity is sparce and only during 3 slots of the day (in 2026 6-8am, 12pm-2pm and 5pm to 9pm). This is fun as you are inside a special area. Its super close to the Tikal reserve, what allow you to halk back to the hotel to refresh and have breakfast, for instance, before going back to the Maya ruins, But the shower doesnt work well as you have a heavy single jet of water coming out of the shower. the bathroom is super old and the faucets works awkwardly. The food is really great with super fair price. Communications with the property is SUPER hard - they take forever to reply via email - we had to call them and, once we were in contact via whatsapp, things worked out better. There is also a lot of missinfo regarding prices for shuttles, for instance, but they will respect the lower one you have, IF you have it in writen by them. Overall it was an interesting experience, they have a lot of things to solve, but even though they are one of the best options in the region. So just think you are going for a full Mayan adventure and enjoy :-)

Excellent location to access Tikal. Pool was amazing! We swam in the rain. The bungalows are incredible. We appreciated having power at night to charge phones, even though the main building turns off their generator. The food is great, staff was kind and patient with our limited Spanish. Netting around the beds was a must for night time, worked well and kept the gnats out. Overall excellent experience and highly recommend staying here to explore Tikal.

The driver was 30 mins late collecting us from the airport so we arrived as the electricity was switched off so no fan or power to charge the phones which was a little frustrating. Other than that, it is a great location to see Tikal and the guide was excellent. We ate lunch which was good. The room was basic but comfortable and had mosquito nets. The transfer van is comfortable and modern.
