The room was clean and very convenient to things in the area. I fished a tournament out of Sandusky and there was plenty of room for the truck/boat and electrical plugs to charge batteries

We just needed a clean place to sleep on our way east. This motel had a great rating and good price. The room was tiny but fine for overnight. Everything was very clean, bathroom is tiny but doable. Had a nice corner with a large countertop with coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator with a separate freezer. Not really walkable to anywhere but a nice Mexican restaurant called Margaritaville was very near and nice. Check in is through email and if you book through this site you do have to go to the motel's website for check in. Keyless entry, you receive a code. Bed was fine for me but too soft for my husband. You get an email with your code and you are invited to call if you need anything. This is an older property that has been remodeled. For a night or two, it is fine. It is an outside entrance if that is a concern.

We were in sandusky for a weekend softball tournament. The room was very nice with the perfect amount of amenities and we loved having 2 full bathrooms. There is nothing on site though. No laundry, vending, office etc. The owners were very easy to contact if you needed something but otherwise it was just you and your room. Very quiet area.

I did like the property. Hot tub and pool were filled in. Bathroom sink was slow to drain. It was comfortable and clean. Fridge micro and keurig machine all good. TV and AC all good . Bed was comfy. I’d stay again in a pitch.

100% recommend! We had a 2 night stay. They upgraded us before we arrived. Contactless check in was a breeze. Very clean, bed was very comfortable. Will be staying here again!

Tasteful renovation of a resort motel court lodging. Clean and quiet small room when i was there off season. Lots of non glaring light in the bathroom was pleasant. The check-in process was all by email which i didnt realize prior to arrival. BUT I got an immediate and personal walk through by telephone and was soon snug in bed.

Nice little place- no frills but very clean and comfortable. Bed is a little soft for my taste but other than that it's a nice place to stay for an overnight.

The location is in a good area, the place is quiet, and stores are not far away. The only problems I had was the room had so many spider webs and spiders like it hasn’t been dusted in a while. There is no sink in the kitchen area which wasn’t a big problem, but would have been more convenient.

Overall not bad for the price. However there was a lot of dust and dirt on the bathroom floor behind the sink and toilet. The bathroom sink would get clogged when running the water for more than a few seconds.

Super cute from the start. The only thing that was an instant notice was the smell, just musty but it changed once we showered and used our own products so no big deal. The bed was incredibly comfortable and if I would have adjusted the ac unit to blow the fan all night, I would have had a fantastic night sleep. But the ac unit was loud so when it hit temp and turned off it was a drastic change so I woke up every time. The walls are also very thin so having the fan/ac unit on was nice since it drowned out the others and was a comfortable noise to sleep with. The shower head was way too low and that is our biggest issue with our stay. When you’re 5’7” and still have to duck to wet your hair, makes for an uncomfortable shower. Other than that, the location was great and the effort into remodeling an old motel was definitely noticed and done well!

Decent hotel. Super small but serves the purpose. Attempted to check in from the lot and Verizon cell service was non existent so had to drive all over to find a signal. Room is decent and clean but not worth the money. Bed squeaks so bad everytime u move it is so loud it woke up my wife. Location is good. Would stay again if they replace the mattress and cut the price in half.

Anchor Bay markets itself as a lakeside retreat and charges premium rates, but in reality they are a remodeled roadside motel. The room was fine and the decor was cute, but I had an issue with the smart locks and later the excessive roadside noise. At first, I couldn’t get out of the room, and then I couldn’t lock the door behind me as I was leaving. This caused me to panic due to my claustrophobic tendencies. I called the manager for help, but instead of offering support, she dismissed my concerns, saying I was “perfectly safe” and argued that my claustrophobia was not caused by the locks (huh?). The conversation got worse, with her comparing my situation to ordering steak and then not liking it. She hung up on me after refusing any assistance. To top it off, I couldn’t sleep all night because of the noise from traffic and trains. I woke up to realize there also was no walking trail or nice view. All in all, I would not stay there again due to the noisy location and the difficult manager who lacked basic customer service skills to say the least.

Close enough to Cedar Pointe. Smaller so no amenities but perfect for just recharging to ride coasters the next day. Recent updates, streaming and comfortable beds. Our shower curtain could have used a good wash and bathroom walls could have been wiped down better, but overall pretty good.

Older converted Motel. We stayed in a 2 room suite. We had 2 bathrooms with showers that really helped save time. Area is decent. Access to Cedar Point and other local attractions is extremely efficient. We would stay here again.

We stayed for the Labor Day holiday weekend. The owner was fantastic in assistance with check-in, parking our big boat, and suggestions on things to do. The room was spotless!! They have done a nice job with renovations. I highly recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were kind, responsive, compassionate, and flexible! Having three separate living areas allowed us to spread out and having two bathrooms was perfect for three girls getting ready. The space is super cute and conveniently located to recreation, shopping, & dining. We will absolutely stay again when we return next summer. For all the good, there is opportunity to improve in attention to detail. The ice tray was broken, no kitchen towels, one bathroom had only a tiny bit of hand soap left. Walmart was close by and I did not at all mind fixing these things. The bedding was not soft but a quick trip to Kohls fixed that. The beds themselves and the pillows are super comfortable. I'd recommend staying here unless you're looking for 5-star polish. This is for casual stays but you'll have a great time.

100% recommend! We had a 2 night stay. They upgraded us before we arrived. Contactless check in was a breeze. Very clean, bed was very comfortable. Will be staying here again!

Tasteful renovation of a resort motel court lodging. Clean and quiet small room when i was there off season. Lots of non glaring light in the bathroom was pleasant. The check-in process was all by email which i didnt realize prior to arrival. BUT I got an immediate and personal walk through by telephone and was soon snug in bed.

The codes for the doors were not sent to us until 3pm the day of, and was incomplete because it only had codes for one room. We called the number sent with the door code and no one answered, I left a message and HAVE NOT received a callback yet. There was no information on site for contacts or anyone to help us. The locks on the doors were cheap and we found that they operated strangely, if at all. we were able to open the one room door that they sent a code for after several tries. The room was small, very clean, the kitchenette was a surprise. We went back to the website for this property and immediately saw at the upper left corner the statement for 24/7 support, we did not get any support, so this was laughable. We ended up going to find another hotel to stay in since they wouldn’t call us back. People, the pictures on their website are deceiving and do not show the motor inn or lodge experience you are about to have! Stay away,far away!

We can not say enough good things about our stay here! We were a little hesitant at first to not stay at a big name brand hotel, but this property was awesome! My husband was in need of ironing a shirt and we could not locate an iron in the room. He asked one of the property attendants and in a very short time they were at our room with a brand new iron! The customer service was top notch!

This property was off the beaten path. Showed some Bay pics but upon arrival. Had to drive to get to any views. However, the customer service was top notch and the place was clean and perfect if you’re surrounded by chaos on a regular basis. Perfect way to reset. Runs like a Bed and Breakfast never saw staff. However, staff was readily available and on point. Wasn’t what I wanted when I came here BUT was what I needed.

The Anchor Bay was a convenient location to get to beaches, restaurants, stores and boat launches. It was a cute suite to use as a home base for a few days. It would be nice if a small table were added for eating - to go with the kitchenette. Also, the dishes/utensils provided weren’t as complete as we’d expect - ie no cups/glasses (mugs only), no non-stick friendly spatulas, no baking dishes.

We spent two night to watch total solar eclipse here. Very clean and great managed property. Located in safe, quiet region with easy access to highways, and close to islands and great lakes. Some distant sounds of train can be heard at night. But it's not a concern to us at all. Management is definitely outstanding. We were not just provided necessary info, but also some great idea about events in the area. They even provided glassed for solar eclipse watching. I were told some facility updates would be scheduled. That would make the property more interesting. We'd love another visit in future.

We just needed a clean place to sleep on our way east. This motel had a great rating and good price. The room was tiny but fine for overnight. Everything was very clean, bathroom is tiny but doable. Had a nice corner with a large countertop with coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator with a separate freezer. Not really walkable to anywhere but a nice Mexican restaurant called Margaritaville was very near and nice. Check in is through email and if you book through this site you do have to go to the motel's website for check in. Keyless entry, you receive a code. Bed was fine for me but too soft for my husband. You get an email with your code and you are invited to call if you need anything. This is an older property that has been remodeled. For a night or two, it is fine. It is an outside entrance if that is a concern.

Older converted Motel. We stayed in a 2 room suite. We had 2 bathrooms with showers that really helped save time. Area is decent. Access to Cedar Point and other local attractions is extremely efficient. We would stay here again.

We stayed at Anchor Bay for two nights! It was a great stay. Clean, bed was comfy, small appliances made it nice, and streaming on the tv. It was close to the highway for easy travel to surrounding cities. Lots of good restaurants in Sandusky to check out. We would definitely stay again!

Modest, clean and comfortable. Their was a small repair needed to the toilet in our first room, but we were immediately put in a better accommodation. Street noise is a bit loud but nothing that we couldnt sleep through. About a 10 min drive from the main areas of commerce and attractions. Good for the affordable price.

We had an overall great experience at this property this past weekend. Very clean and had all that we needed as far as utilities goes - TV, Bed, Bathroom, and kitchenette. Bathroom has the only sink in the rental, and there was only one really small trash can in the rental as well which was for the bathroom, but no big deal just bring a trash bag with you if you have any trash to dispose of. All of Sandusky's bars, attractions, and including cedar point are within a 10 minute drive of this rental property as well which was very convenient. Pricing is not bad given the cleanliness of the inside, although the exterior property looks a little rough --- If you are using the space as a place to sleep/shower while planning on spending the day away elsewhere to view Sandusky's downtown area, this is a great place to stay! The staff are very attentive and helpful to any customers who have questions/concerns :)

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while we visited the area from California. It was perfect for our needs; quiet, clean, well maintained and we loved how it had a mini fridge and microwave. Felt like a nice little home away from home. The staff was very kind; the owners even allowed us to check in early since we had a redeye flight and were so tired! The location is nice for those who do not want a busy or noisy setting. It was only a 12 min drive from Cedar Point, literally down the street from Tofts Ice Cream and there were plenty of places to eat nearby. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

The room was very clean and nicely remodeled. The bed and pillows were comfortable and they had plenty of fresh towels in a cabinet. Since this is an old roadside motel, there was a faint scent of cigarette smoke that they probably can’t get rid of and the a/c unit is loud and right next to the bed. The check-in processes is a little wonky because there is no front desk. You get a code to open the door. We were sent our code, then a new code, but when we got to the room late, the door wouldn’t open. It was a little frustrating, however there was a number to call and the person who answered was wonderful and helpful, even though it was really late.

The property is nice. The room was really nice, but we had so many bugs in our room mosquitoes and other annoying flying bugs just kept appearing. I didn’t see him as if our room was cleaned all that gray. There were crumbs everywhere. Dead bugs in the shower but nicely updated looked great. There was also a lot of of feces all around in the parking lot all around the property. Not sure if it’s from ducks or raccoons or what but feces everywhere.

Great location and price. Quiet stay easy parking. My wife and I have been here two trips with no issue. Thanks to the nice lady for making my oatmeal our first stay lol. We will return.

We had a wonderful stay in room 2 over the weekend. Just couldn’t stop talking about how nice the place is and how amazing the price was! I was easily able to get in touch with the property owners and ask a few questions, they were very polite as well! We noticed some small construction going on which looks to be a little social area for people to sit and gather around, how exciting! We will be back!
