Ginette and Ross are very welcoming hosts and the house itself seems to wrap its arms around you. Beautiful garden space with chairs for relaxing, heritage home with their own paintings complementing the antiques and cosy furnishings, very comfortable bed all make The Captain’s House a real find. Elegant dining room for breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt and granola followed by tasty cooked entree. We will return!!

Everything was OK. Not great, not horrible, just ok. Note that there is not a bathroom in your room - you have to use a SHARED BATHROOM down the hall. One toilet, one sink, one tub/shower. As a middle-aged, single-woman travelling alone, this made me quite uncomfortable. I had to share the bathroom with a strange man. I haven't "shared" a bathroom with a stranger since the university dorms I attended in 1991 while living on a co-ed floor. The shared bathroom is not noted in the description of ANY of the room on the website. Maybe my expectations were too high...but $224.25 charge (incl. tax) for one night, I expected a private bathroom.

A quaint heritage home nestled into the historical town of midland. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The hosts, Ross and Ginette were cordial, friendly and made you feel very welcomed in their home. The breakfast was delicious and tastefully presented. Highly recommended for any traveler vacationing or traveling through the area.
