It's an older motel, but they keep it up every year. All rooms are oceanfront and it has a little store at the corner of the building. Pet friendly and family friendly. Price is VERY reasonable! Only drawback is it's 4 floors with no elevator. I found out that if you get a suite, those are in the ground floor-fyi

Ground floor room, pool right outside your door, with small table & chairs, 5 steps down from pool your on the beach! Upper 3 floors had balconies. Being a smaller hotel service was great, you were not just a number. Nothing fancy, but clean. Most rooms have a very small kitchen. Great location, very close to murrels inlet. Best part was we decided to stay another night ( first 2 nights rained out) so Tina at the front desk did some moving around for us, so we didn’t have to change rooms! We will be back!

Pool was dirty. No elevator. Only one ice machine - ran out of ice every day. At least four couples impacted on check-in. Put in wrong rooms, people already in rooms. Check-in was very stressful. Our key would not work, people already in the room. Their key worked, but people were sleeping there.

We really enjoyed being in the area. Quiet. Saltwater pool was nice. Unobstructed view of the beach from the room and pool side. Nice shelter area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was convenient.

We are very happy to have discovered this property, and will most definitely return. Staff are highly professional and accommodating. Private balconies face the ocean. Rooms and property very clean. Nice pool deck and the beach is walkable in both directions. Close to everything in Murrell's Inlet, Garden City, and Surfside. Good, safe distance from Myrtle Beach.

I loved the fact that we were on the first floor and could walk right out room onto the pool deck. They had a table and chairs outside the door on pool deck in front of each suite. The glass in the door was so thick you couldn’t hear any noise from outside, which was great! You could also walk right off oool deck onto the beach!! Sunrise’s we’re beautiful. They also rent to locals which many don’t and we appreciated that, to be able to get away and feel like we were on vacation!!

We have stayed several different places over the last 25 years. This was our first stay and we loved it. The weather wasn't the best for ocean swimming so we used the beautiful pool and deck area. Everyone was very nice and the rooms are spacious and clean. There is a little store right next to the building that has a little bit of everything you may need. Washer and Dryer for your clothes so you don't have to bring them home dirty. Close to the boardwalk. Will come back again.

The property is old. Has been updated. But still needs more. Maid service never made both beds. Only one. Had to get coffee cups and toilet paper. No instructions on how to operate tv. Needs smart tvs added. Bathroom shower redone. But shower head and faucet just stuck in wall. Our beds were comfortable.

The stay itself was great. I do feel like the room could be cleaned better. The floor was quite dirty that my feet were constantly black. The sand from the beach was always on the floor. The room had a broom however it was very small and there was still always sand even after I swept. This caused lots of sand getting into the beds. I think the cleaning crew should at least swiffer the floors daily. Towels were always replaced daily which was nice.

We booked for a one night quick getaway. What was supposed to be fun became disastrous and dreadful. The chairs in the room has mold on them, the walls had spills and things on them, the ceiling was peeling, the balcony door wouldn’t lock, we had no wash rags and the floors were nasty. My daughter woke up the next morning with a a huge bite on her arm. It was swollen, red and very painful. After a few hours, we ended up in urgent care. Long story short, the reviews left were pretty good l, hence the reason we stayed there. However it was far below my expectation and was very nasty.

This motel is directly on the water and has good access to restaurants and the pier. The kitchenette is nice for families. The rooms need to be cleanser: stained sheets, last guest’s hair clump on the bathroom counter, coffee cups not fully clean. Also you hear all the exterior noise through the door.

I do realize the property is inexpensive for a reason, but it could definitely use some updating and a really good deep cleaning. We dropped something in the floor that rolled under the bed. I was absolutely disgusted. It didn’t look like it had been cleaned in years. The exhaust fan did not work in our bathroom. Our refrigerator did not work on the first day. I did not realize until the evening time. I talked to the guy working the front desk. He was supposed to get someone there to replace it in the morning. Around noon I had to go back to the front desk to talk to them about it. He never told anyone. However they were quick to get it replaced. My biggest complaint is the cleaning people. On multiple occasions they walked into our room without any knocking or any notice. Several times my teenage daughter was in the room alone. This is completely unacceptable. Under no circumstances should they walk into someone’s room without knocking or letting someone know. We have stayed here several times in the past, but this will probably be our last. There would have to be some serious changes for us to change our minds.

Ocean front! The sunrise was gorgeous from our balcony. The room appeared to have been recently renovated and was very clean. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. We slept great! We used Lyft for transportation and it was readily available and inexpensive. No elevator but not an issue for us.

The property is in a great location right on the beach and convenient to Garden Cith and Myrtle Beach attractions. The ground floor rooms are the best with a small kitchen and full size refrigerator and you can walk right out onto thepool beach area. The furnishings are basic with two low quality queen beds and a pull out sofa. My bigest and only real issue is the WiFi it is absolutely unusable, othe guest said the same. They need a serios equipment and link upgrade to be usable. The have consumer grade equipment and what appears to bea home user or very low capacity internet link. If ypu want to stay here do not count on having WIFI internet.

I liked the ocean view. I don’t suggest fully closing the sliding door when on balcony. The outside handle should be like the inside for better grip. Push the glass to open the door isn’t ideal. I would stay again.

Comfortable room with refrigerator and microwave. Clean room and bathroom. Amazing view of the beach, nice pool area (too cold to swim in January but looks really nice). Balcony overlooking pool area and beach. If you have mobility issues you need to be on first floor. Great location to go to Brookgreen Gardens, HB State Park or Myrtle Beach

While the property itself is fairly aged and no amount of paint can hide that, overall it is still a very comfortable stay for us. Having direct access to the beach AND literally walk out the door to the pool was a big plus. The one of the biggest drawback is simply how loud the AC unit was, specially if you keep it running through the night to keep the humidty down. I think had they opt'd to replace all the units with mini-split when it was renovated, they would've gotten better energy efficiency in the long run and also offers guests a better experience.

Unfortunately our door lock broke our second day. The wonderful staff took care of it while we were out. We watched every morning the routine performed to keep the pool and surroundings clean.The staff is so friendly and helpful. We are repeat guests for approximately 6 years. We will be back.
Unfortunately our door lock broke our second day. The wonderful staff took care of it while we were out. We watched every morning the routine performed to keep the pool and surroundings clean.The staff is so friendly and helpful. We are repeat guests for approximately 6 years. We will be back.

Check-in staff was NOT friendly. She did not share times the pool was open, where to get ice, or the fact that there was NO ELEVATOR and we were in the 4th floor!! The room was fine. Beds were comfortable & shower was decent. AC worked well. Location is excellent. But, the ice machine did not work the ENTIRE time we were there in a July heat wave. There was a cockroach in the pool area & on our balcony the last night. And someone let their dog poop on the second story landing & did not clean it up the day we were checking out. I DO NOT recommend this motel at all, unless you have absolutely no other options.

I cannot say enough good things about how wonderful The customer service was at the Garden City Inn. The receptionist at the front desk named Lunchbox went over and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I had just fallen on the sidewalk and she was so kind and gave me a Band-Aid and helped me to clean up and then was able to get me a room right away. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone of my friends. The rooms were clean and the staff was very courteous and kind Garden City Inn is hidden gem!

Pool was dirty. No elevator. Only one ice machine - ran out of ice every day. At least four couples impacted on check-in. Put in wrong rooms, people already in rooms. Check-in was very stressful. Our key would not work, people already in the room. Their key worked, but people were sleeping there.

We had stayed here in Janurary and enjoyed it,so we decided to book another stay.We booked another stay a few wks later and the day before our stay my mother had a heart attack and we phoned to reschedule at a later date,Hotel accomadated with a 21.00 fee(no problem).once we arrived at hotel,the clerk informed me that i owed 62.33.i explained to her that we had already paid online including the date change fee.She indicated that it didn't show that on the computer .i asked to speak to mgr and she stated that the mgr would be in on next morning,so i decided to pay and resolve the next morning.Next morning i walk in and the gentlemen b/h desk said the mgr wasn't in but thought he could help.i explained issue and he looked it up and said that i would need to speak to Liz on monday being that she intially handled the issue(check-in person should have been able to see and call Liz to resolve).We left and made several attempts on Monday and Tuesday but noone ever answered the phone.I had to call Hotels.com to resolve and week later with no refund,but hotels.com was very helpful and assured me of a refund.Big breakdown in management training associates,customer service skills,atonomy to resolve customer issues,drilling down,communication,and no sense of urgency.

The staff is SUPER RUDE and unprofessional at this property. They are very aware that the location is so great that they have no need to be kind and considerate to their guests. They make this very evident with their terrible customer service and overall poor demeanor. I felt like I was dealing with people who had never received any training in their entire lives. Very disappointing. This place could be a fantastic experience if they just had a decent staff. No view nor proximity to the beach is worth feeling stressed out and unappreciated when you are paying your hard earned money. ZERO customer appreciation here. STAY AWAY.

It was a pleasant stay. Right on the beach with easy access to the water. Minimart directly beside it. Overall, decent for the price. Pet fee was a little high being as though theyre cleaner and taken care of better than most humans. Good stay.

After not knowing the area and arriving blind, we were extremely pleased by the southern hospitality of the staff and the 1st floor room overlooking the pool and beach! Affordable rooms. We will definitely be back!!

The property is in a great location right on the beach and convenient to Garden Cith and Myrtle Beach attractions. The ground floor rooms are the best with a small kitchen and full size refrigerator and you can walk right out onto thepool beach area. The furnishings are basic with two low quality queen beds and a pull out sofa. My bigest and only real issue is the WiFi it is absolutely unusable, othe guest said the same. They need a serios equipment and link upgrade to be usable. The have consumer grade equipment and what appears to bea home user or very low capacity internet link. If ypu want to stay here do not count on having WIFI internet.

Our TV was having connectivity problems. The gentleman on duty came to our room and fixed the problem quickly. The views were stunning. Kitchenette was perfect for us. Great overall visit!

The location is the absolutely best part of this hotel!!! High recommend!!! First floors are the best rooms to stay in. They have mini kitchens with good size fridge. We went grocery shopping and bought essentials and everything fit well. Would recommend getting paper plates and silverware and paper towel. Kitchen supplies are limited. A toaster and a spatula would be nice to have in the kitchen. The cons are the housekeeping. We only received service twice. Needed to keep getting towels and tp ourselves. Internet was sketchy. Sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t. I will go back again though based on location. Loved Lunchbox and Princetina. They were very helpful and kind. Excellent employees.

Lisa was Great at check in!! Showing me where to get meals, the store on the grounds. Constant breeze so close to the water. Big clean rooms! Walkable to piers etc. Billy was so Kind to help with my departure on boarding flights!! Thank you sooo Much! I enjoyed Everything and hope to revisit there.

We have stayed several different places over the last 25 years. This was our first stay and we loved it. The weather wasn't the best for ocean swimming so we used the beautiful pool and deck area. Everyone was very nice and the rooms are spacious and clean. There is a little store right next to the building that has a little bit of everything you may need. Washer and Dryer for your clothes so you don't have to bring them home dirty. Close to the boardwalk. Will come back again.

I have a bad leg and had to go up stairs to the 3rd level. There was a rain storm on Sat evening the the roof started leaking. It was like drip drip . We did not notice it till Sunday morning. Told the front desk and she stated she was sorry she forgot to go squggie the roof. Other then those 2 things it was a great weekend.

You you are looking for a Hilton this is not for you. I chose it because I could take my dog for the first time. I was supposed to be on 2nd floor but when I got there it was on 3rd floor . Steps only. It was pretty difficult but I managed. Tried to get second floor next day and lady said that the room i was supposed to of gotten the party in it wanted to stay longer. Beds and bathroom was clean. Floors were so old and dirty we went and bought a wet jet mop. For the price it was acceptable. Right on the beach was a big plus and pool was nice and clean. Would I stay there again? I really dont know.
