Hilton Garden Inn Rochester/University & Medical Center

When in Rochester, I always stay at the Hilton Garden. The location is great, near UofR’s campus and right at the medical center with restaurants nearby. I had a room on the 4th floor and there was noise either above or outside, both fitting the day and at night. It kept me up at night. The room is well equipped with coffee maker and a microwave. I love that the hotel has a pool and a well sized gym.

Hotel was nicely situated for a visit to UR. Property was very nice. One note would be that Elevators were incredibly slow for the amount of floors.

We like this hotel. Helpful staff, good facilities. Nice property. We would stay here again.

The facility is very well maintained and attractive. It has a good full-service restaurant, good rooms, plenty of parking and a great location.

Fantastic location for a visit to the University of Rochester. Very clean room and bathroom. I used the gym and pool both were great. Highly recommend.

The staff was super friendly. The workout facility was good and the property was clean, updated and cozy.

This place was beautiful and so clean the only problem I had was only one elevator worked so it took a little bit longer which isn't a big deal.

Overall it was a good stay. The location was perfect for our visit at Eastman Dental. The facility was nice but some of the details in the cleaning were missed. I always pull back mattress pads and sheets to check for bed bugs (which I did NOT find to be very clear). However,, one of the mattresses had body fluid stains on the corner and some odd crumbs under the sheet and on the mattress pad. I found those same type of crumbs on the sitting chair.

Blood stain on comforter. Squeaking beds and door hinges. I have stayed here many times and it seems the quality of the facility is declining.

One of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in.

The room could be cleaner- there was hair on the rim of the toilet, the mirror was smudged and I found a couple pieces of Chex mix in the closet and underneath the bed. A bit costly, especially considering breakfast is not included in the price. Not enough hooks in the room to hang garments, etc.

I operate two Airbnbs (in addition to my day job), so I am sympathetic to the challenges of cleaning. The shower had large clumps of long dark hair in the drain (in the center of the stall, so not easy to overlook during cleaning) and there was visible fecal debris on the wall around the toilet paper holder. I had two rooms reserved for myself and my son for more than $300/room (before tax). This was very disappointing and not what I expected.

Convenient location-very clean room

Front desk staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. However, housekeeping was horrendous and rude. I left the room at 8:30am for breakfast and returned around 9:15 am to find the housekeeper had already cleaned my room for the next guests. As I was about to exit the room to check out the housekeeper confronted me asking me why I was in the room to which I explained that I had not checked out yet (it was 9:30am). She was rude and said that I can’t go back into the room. It makes no sense to not allow guest back into their room at 9:30 AM prior to check out. Plus. The room were not clean, stains (red, not sure if it was blood) was everywhere in the bathroom. Stains on the sheets. 5 stars for front desk, 1 star for cleanliness and 1 star for housekeeping.

Room was not clean. My child has a nut allergy and we found almonds on the floor and in the couch. Also, found a random pill in the room. Not pleased with this Hilton experience. We left early.

Clean hotel and nice room. Somewhat less sound isolated but the neighbors were thoughtful and volumes down in the night. Great area

It was “interesting” 1) hotel engineering had to solve a lighting problem at the entrance to the room. 2) there was a wifi problem, in that even after connecting, I was not allowed to goggle anything because the site was red lined as very insecure. My wife could not even join the wifi. Another customer complained to the front desk about this as well. 3) no tv station guide in the room. 4) no paper or pen in the room. Not even a bible. 5). The bath tub was a real challenge. One almost needed an engineer degree to operate it. I have never seen anything like it, and I have seen a LOT. My wife and I both got sprayed while having a simple tub bath. 😢 6) No cups for beverages other than a couple of coffee cups. One actually had a hole in the bottom so the liquid ran out to the floor. 7) The room was nicely appointed. It was interesting that there was a floor lamp beside a couch. However, the only way to turn on the light was with a flor switch which happened to be UNDER the couch. When I moved the very heavy couch to turn on the lamp, I noted a lot of dirt and spilled popcorn or something similar. Obviously, it had not been cleaned for a while. All that being said, the room was quite spacious and light. The temperature was perfect. The room was open and smelled quite fresh and clean when we entered. The bed was AMAZING. I usually have trouble sleeping, but here I slept straight through for 10 hours. Amazing !!!

The King bed in room 209 was EXTREMELY hard and uncomfortable. No mattress pad or pillow topper either, just a hard, worn out mattress.

Everything great, but noisy room facing the street and noisy fridge! I needed earplugs

It’s a little loud on the side of the main road ( across from the cemetery). Will request an interior room next time. Otherwise it was a great stay and would stay there again.

Large, clean modern rooms. Roomy bathroom. Comfortable bed. Great restaurant.

No hand soap, pillows are way too thin and beds were relatively uncomfortable. Noisy hallway.

Staff was helpful. Beds were comfy. The king suite was roomy and Grappa has wonderful food!

The staff abs service were great. My only issue was the shower, it doesn't have a lip so the water runs into the middle of the bathroom, but there were plenty of towels, so, not a big deal.

Wonderful caring staff!

Felt desk staff was unsure of what they were doing. Got someone else’s breakfast charges($100.00) charged to my room. Called to resolve- still left $27.00 of their breakfast charge on my bill.

We reserved a room about 4 hours before our arrival after a long day of driving. When we arrived, we were first told that there were no rooms available - even with a confirmation. Then witnessed a weird and unprofessional front desk discussion between employees. Finally resolved by one employee physically verifying the room was clean and available. All told about a 15 minute wait after a very long day of driving. Then we were told we could eat any snacks in the room - complimentary because of our wait. There were 2 water bottles, lol. Think they were already complimentary. Thanks! Overall, the place was clean, quiet and in a great location - just need to work on their guest reception.

Staff on site were great when I arrived. However, on the date of checkin they called me to tell me I didn’t have a room. Even though I had prepaid and checked into my room virtually the night before. They then proceeded to tell me the room I was going to have is for a doctor. I was then asked why I was coming to town. I ended up calling a rep from expedia who called the hotel. Within a few minutes I got a call back from the hotel and they now had a room for my family and I but not the one I checked into the night before. Once I got to the hotel, the front desk staff member advised that the room I initially checking into was still available?

Front desk manager in the morning and gentleman who drove the shuttle were courteous and exceptional. Bravo!

Had to wait a while for the front desk person to open the door so we can check in late in the evening. It was super cold, middle of a snow storm and no one answered the phones. The rep eventually arrived claiming he was helping a guest in their room. After checking in, we called down to ask questions. Again no answer! Night front desk management needs to be upgraded. Room was just ok! Some areas were not clean.

Hotel was overbooked and sent us to another hotel miles away - tried to contact Expedia and had no way of doing that by phone - contacted an agent who then didn’t respond for over an hour

The staff went ABOVE and BEYOND! I got several rides to and from the airport and the university. While everyone was very kind and seemed to enjoy their job, I couldn't help notice the operation looked woefully understaffed. They're working harder than they should have to. Give them some more help. I hope they're getting paid well.

Convenient and lots of options walkable

Visited UofR and stayed here. Close to campus and medical school/hosptial. There are a few dining options right in the area. Property was sharp, and the room was perfect.

It is very convienent to the U of R and most of the city and eastern suburbs

Beautiful hotel. Everything was new and shiny. Especially liked the Grappa restaurant attached to the lobby. Prices were excellent.

Comfortable accommodations. Easy walk to hospital. Enjoyed dinner at Grappa.

40 minutes to check in. Breakfast was disgusting and cost $35. Never again

Comfortable stay but the breakfast was the worst I have experienced at any hotel.

Hard to sleep all night I was feeling vibrating some thing like heating or any thing making huge noise. Break fast not good also dinner was aweful . They charge high rate but not wroth it .cant get peaceful sleep
