Quiet, clean, no frills, family owned and run motel. We got in very late /early in the morning after flying since the previous morning. I was delighted to find a gentleman still up at the desk, ready to check us in. The area was very quiet, and we didn’t hear anyone in any surrounding rooms. The bathroom counter needs some cosmetic attention (raw wood on parts of the countertop, no plug on the drain). Nothing to keep us from staying at this hotel again I. The future though.

I booked this motel in great part because of courtesy shuttle to airport since we had to return rental car day before departure. I arranged with the manager for 7 AM shuttle and we asked for a wake up call. The clerk in the morning had no record that we needed the shuttle and said the driver isn't due til 7 and he's usually late. This forced us to call for taxi and pay for it. I was not happy! Property is clean but the room was cramped-bed pushed clear to wall on one side. The air conditioner had apparently been stolen by a guest prior to us and their housekeeping staff apparently didn't notice it was gone! They had to come in and install a new one after we checked in. the experience was more like an $80 Motel 6 than a $200 a night motel.

The Inn was exactly what it advertises itself to be. It was close to the airport with a shuttle. The rooms and exterior areas were clean. The entire staff was a pleasure to interact with. The grab and go breakfast had a wide variety of items to choose from and was regularly replenished. I visited multiple times for coffee!

We were not picked up at the airport as promised. When we arrived via Uber, we had to carry our heavy bags up the stairs because there was no elevator to the second floor. I am 68 years old, and my wife has a bad left knee. We requested help and asked for a room on the first floor, but we were simply told, "We are sorry." I also requested a refund, but it was denied. This place is terrible, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The front desk has someone there 24 hours. The shuttle service was great. Picked us up at the airport at 3 in the morning, took us back to airport to pick up rental car in the morning. On Saturday evening picked us up at airport again after turning the rental vehicle in to bring us back to motel and then took us to the train in the morning.

Clean, friendly place, everyone is accommodating and friendly—lots of breakfast choices. Shuttling to and fro is a breeze with friendly drivers. When I need to come to Fairbanks, Golden North Inn is my first choice.

Very conveniently located across the north end of airport runway. Older but well maintained 2 story building. Entire staff very friendly & accommodating to help suggest where to visit & dine in Fairbanks. Rooms all remodeled & very clean. Would not hesitate to return to the same Inn again!

Really excellent choice if you need a day or two in Fairbanks on a budget. Check-in was really easy, staff was very patient and helpful. Cameron in particular was outstanding. Breakfast was good. It was your basic Continental affair. All the fruit looked in good shape, cold items were cold; the only downside was there was no cream cheese or butter for their bagels. :( Rooms were very clean, and were pleasantly surprisingly spacious particularly for the cost. Doors open to the outside, so I might request a top floor if I have the freedom to be picky. The hotel itself is tucked away a little, which is nice. It has really easy access to the airport though, and is right down the street from a grocery store.

Paid for queen bed. The bed was a full not a queen. Room may have been 200sq ft. Carper had ground in dirt in it. Bathtub dirty and stained. Paid $250 for this room. Worth $40 at best. Front desk clerk not friendly.

Staff was very accommodating. Outside area, steps and hallway needed cleaning. No room to put your luggage and barely room to walk around the bed. For the price i expected more.

The staff was pleasant, shuttle service quick. The 1st room reeked of cigarette smoke, luckily there was another room and they moved us. The carpeting is dirty, my socks were gray on the bottom. You can here everything - luckily I have a white noise app on my phone. When I booked it the hotel was at a 8+ rating, but when I looked it up again it was down to 7+. You can walk to Fred Meyer from hotel, however a regular guest told us to be careful. The adjacent buildings were all fenced in. This place is over priced for what you get.

The noise from upstairs was constant and super loud all night and early in the morning. We don’t know if it’s just the people walking or it sounded like they were bowling actually dropping loud loud loud , but the room was nice.

Room is very small. Queen bed is against the wall making it difficult to fit two older people in same bed. Work desk small. One lamp that I needed to move from bed stand to desk daily. No counter space in bathroom for stuff. Price was it's virtue.

Really friendly staff and spacious room. Close to the airport and grocery stores. Most tours offer pick up here. I do recommend renting a car. If you stay in the first floor, the second floor may be loud.

Staff was friendly. Check in was quick and easy. Room was nice and spacious. Clean. Good water pressure. Always had hot water. Beds comfortable. Fluffy pillows. 2 down sides. #1 if you use their shuttle service don’t expect them to open any doors or help with your luggage. Your on your own, so be able to lift your own stuff. #2 was the room smell. It was a little musty. But considering it’s Alaska things are probably always a bit on the moist side so that is what the smell was like for me. Not unbearable but noticeable. It’s convenient to the airport and train station but an expensive uber ride into down town. Expect about $25-30 each way with tip.

They had the most comfortable bed of my entire trip. It was disappointing that there was no coffee maker in the room. You had to go to the office to get it. The continental breakfast was decent. We were right next to the airport but you could not hear airplane noise at all.

We needed to make a last minute booking due to cancelled flight in the middle of the night; Carlos was at the airport to pick us up within 15 minutes of our booking, and we got upgraded room as well. For a "breakfast in the lobby" the abundance, variety, and healthy options was incredible. Although the Inn is older, would recommend due to cleanliness, and service.
We needed to make a last minute booking due to cancelled flight in the middle of the night; Carlos was at the airport to pick us up within 15 minutes of our booking, and we got upgraded room as well. For a "breakfast in the lobby" the abundance, variety, and healthy options was incredible. Although the Inn is older, would recommend due to cleanliness, and service.

One of my main concerns, even before I arrived, was that they would be able to get me to the airport by 4:30 AM. I was assured, via message, even before my arrival, that they would accommodate that and pay for it. When I got to the main desk in the morning, there was nothing set up, even though I had confirmed with them on check-in that I needed the ride. Thankfully, the gentleman running the desk that morning was able to arrange a ride. In addition, consider this one of your last options based on the quality of the property.

Clean, friendly place, everyone is accommodating and friendly—lots of breakfast choices. Shuttling to and fro is a breeze with friendly drivers. When I need to come to Fairbanks, Golden North Inn is my first choice.

Good stay. The staff was great met our requests without complaints. Extended early morning breakfast for us and paid for a taxi when we needed a ride to airport earlier than the shuttle ran. James at the front desk was accommodating and friendly

Everyone at front desk was very friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Sue. She also gave me a ride to airport. I wanted to trip her but was pre occupied with getting my luggage.

Heather the front desk is very helpful the managers are awesome ! Great coffee and continental breakfast was great! Quiet and novody bothered me not even staff. The housekeepers and groundskeepers are also very helpful. Great place great people and great prices. Bible in the room made it feel peaceful and safe. Joe Druck.

Had a great stay at Golden North Inn. It’s not fancy but clean, safe, walking distance to Fred Meyer, provides free airport shuttle, and has decent continental breakfast. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. The bed was comfortable.

Really friendly staff and spacious room. Close to the airport and grocery stores. Most tours offer pick up here. I do recommend renting a car. If you stay in the first floor, the second floor may be loud.

Very conveniently located across the north end of airport runway. Older but well maintained 2 story building. Entire staff very friendly & accommodating to help suggest where to visit & dine in Fairbanks. Rooms all remodeled & very clean. Would not hesitate to return to the same Inn again!

The staff was fantastic and very accommodating! The location is close to the airport and just a short walk to a Fred Myers. The continental breakfast was plentiful, however the water for tea & hot choc was not hot enough. The room and bathroom were very clean but the sleeping area was way too small for the price of over $200.

A great central location, close to airport with airport shuttle service. Very friendly welcoming staff. Shopping nearby and fridge and microwave in room. Lovely outside area with table and chairs great for a picnic weather was very kind. Great suggestions for local attractions.

We needed to make a last minute booking due to cancelled flight in the middle of the night; Carlos was at the airport to pick us up within 15 minutes of our booking, and we got upgraded room as well. For a "breakfast in the lobby" the abundance, variety, and healthy options was incredible. Although the Inn is older, would recommend due to cleanliness, and service.

The Inn was exactly what it advertises itself to be. It was close to the airport with a shuttle. The rooms and exterior areas were clean. The entire staff was a pleasure to interact with. The grab and go breakfast had a wide variety of items to choose from and was regularly replenished. I visited multiple times for coffee!

Clean motel with basic amenities and friendly staff. We stayed in a comfort queen room which was quite snug, Esp. Considering it was larger than the basic room in which our friend stayed. My husband had to move the bed away from the wall n put a trash can upside down to accommodate my cpap. He had a side table for his but i did not. The Breakfast room was the lobby and only had 3 chairs. The breakfast offerings were decent, nothing hot. No way to make coffee in the room. However the coffee in the lobby was very good. We paid $161 for our room. It was ok for a night by the airport, but we would not stay there longer.

Sewage smell came up through the bathtub drain. I covered the bathtub drain with a Clorox wipe and it reduced sewer smell.

While the two rooms were clean, they were small and underwhelming at first glance. However, all of us agreed that the beds were ultra comfy! The airport transit was very prompt and reliable. The breakfast buffet was compact, the contained the perfect variety of high-quality products to satisfy all. There isn’t really a dining area, but we all enjoyed hanging out on the few barstools while we ate breakfast and received local recommendations from the very helpful Front Desk clerk. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who needs an airport stay.
