Prince of Burford is a really nice pub. Decor is really nicely done. Restaurant evening meal: had to wait 55 mins for our main meal, wasnt busy at all. No apology for taken so long. No cutelry provided or empty glasses taken away. Staff are nice but I feel would really benefit from some more coaching or some more experienced staff on shift. Simple things such as making sure people have cutelry and not walking pass tables empty handed and not picking up plates/ glasses Room: really nice style and decor. We were facing main road but the noise wasnt too bad with windows shut. Mattress was not comfy and pillows could have been better. Nice touches of biscotti, pillow spray and toiletries provided were really nice. Breakfast: really lovely, staff on breakfast could not have been more helpful and were so lovely. Food was really nice.

Clean, very nice room. On a busy roundabout so can be noisy with traffic. Bar menu not up to date - 2 drinks they didn’t have on offer. Very good breakfast

Lovely room shame about the traffic noise.No air-con so could be a problem in hot weather.Free parking,be prepared for a long walk up hill back from centre.No lift if you have heavy luggage.Burford is a very busy tourist town. Lot's of nice walks

Very helpful staff at this well appointed Hotel. lovely room (we had the Windrush) and great breakfast. If we could change anything it would be to add air conditioning. This would allow us to have kept the window closed at night as road noise is significant.

This place has gone downhill a bit since it was the Cotswolds Gateway. 22.02 on a Sunday night and was told as a resident that we could not order a drink at the bar. Also as a Silver member on Hotels.Com we qualified for a free beverage each during our stay. When I enquired at the check on desk was told that the two small bottles of water which were in the room were our free drinks. Not really happy with this answer as all rooms had water placed in them as a matter of course. Cotswolds Gateway was great, stayed about five times. Newly rebranded Prince of Burford however is not as good

The room was very clean but cold, the window needs fixing Room 11. Nowhere much to sit apart from the bar unfortunately . Christina our hostess for dinner on Friday 21st was excellent and again for breakfast on Saturday, nothing was too much trouble for her. Rooms are very small and I think very expensive ,not good value for the money sadly.

Easy access and plenty of parking. Nice ambience in the lobby area with the sofa’s and fire. The reception area is quite small. Staff very friendly and attentive. We had booked the suite which was a nice, quiet and spacious room. Found the pillows too hard for us which was a little disappointing as everything else was great.

Great location, super friendly staff (Jessica) and a wonderful restaurant menu. Lovely atmosphere and lots of parking. We would like to have had a non-slip back mat in the shower to avoid slipping and the stairs - reflective of the age of the property are quite steep with a low banister rail so we would book a 1st floor room in the future. But a super place to stay.

A lovely pub a few minutes walk from Burford with plenty of parking. Our room was very clean and presented beautifully with coffee facilities and fresh water provided in the room every day. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of options. We also had an evening meal and that was very good too. The staff were very friendly

It’s a lovely hotel/pub/restaurant. The breakfast was spot on. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideal location and parking, sometimes staying in Burford parking is limited but they had a car park with sufficient spaces meaning you can park at the hotel and not worry about your car being far away or in time limited spaces on the main road. The room we stayed in was nice and decorated well and had an amazing shower. The only down side was the bed and pillows weren’t very comfy so me and my partner didn’t have a great sleep and woke up tired in the morning. Also we could hear every step from the room next door due to very squeaky floor boards. The cocktails were a little pricey at £9.50 a cocktail but I think they do have a cocktail deal on but it finishes at 7pm which we unfortunately just missed. If the mattress and bed sizes were to change we would definitely stay here again.

Food was excellent if you didn’t have to wait too long. Dinner on first evening took 40 minutes to arrive & looked as if it had been re-heated. The room was poorly lit, there were no drawers to store clothing, no shelving in the shower room and no safe for valuables. The curtains were hanging all over the place & the bedside table lights were covered in dust. The shower was very good but we had the same towels for 4 days. Milk was not supplied without asking & on one occasion it had gone off.

The staff were exceptional in the public rooms bar restaurant exceptional very pleasant. Our room was disappointing/stained thro/ dirty used ear plugs/ drapes not hanging correctly no toilet roll holder, All these items were reported I was led to believe lack of staff was a the cause of below standards

Lovely Rooms and nice and clean. The only thing I would say is the carpets really could do being cleaned or replaced. Tea/ coffee facility and a lovely comfortable bed.

We stayed for one night. We loved the Sunday roast; cooked perfectly, arranged meticulously on the plate, and plenty of delicious items. A+. The pub was also nice, they were short-staffed but very friendly. The entire staff were incredibly nice and friendly, except the gentleman at the reservation desk. He didn't smile, appeared overwhelmed, and ignored us when we passed him in the hall. We waited 45 minutes to check-in and part of that was because he forgot we were sitting there. He appeared to enjoy surfing the internet, but not the guests. Fortunately, the rest of the staff were amazing. Parking was tight due to the Sunday roast, so we had to wait to check in. The rooms were a B to a B-; we had a broken toilet seat and someone had failed to flush their "release" before turning the room over to us. I would definitely eat here again, but I have misgivings about whether I would stay or look elsewhere.

Staff in this beautifully character hotel were exemplary throughout our stay. The bedroom was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Linens & towels were of good quality and the bed very comfortable. The complimentary tea tray was excellent with fresh coffee/ cafetiere & a selection of teas. Bottled water was provided & a bottle of milk. We had dinner and breakfast & both were good. The property is a short walk from the wonderful Burford high street. A real find.

The Hotel was disappointing in respect of the readiness of the bedroom on arrival for occupation, owing to a bad smell in the bathroom; we were moved to another bedroom, which was fine. The staff were very helpful and pleasant; the breakfast was excellent.

Nice place with character, friendly staff and food was fine. Two things to bear in mind ... 1. Room was nice and clean but a little smaller than what I am used to. Floor boards creaked but I didnt mind as it added to the character of the place. 2. Wifi signal was poor where ever I tried and unfortunately so was my mobile data (nothing to do with the hotel, EE issue). Having said that, I enjoyed my visit and I would stay there again.

We had booked the suite which was a nice, quiet and spacious room. Found the pillows too hard for us which was a little disappointing as everything else was great.

The hotel is well-situated at the top of the town. Food service is good and the rooms clean. However, my room was very small, it became very hot at night and my sleep interrupted by an intermittent, loud boiler system. I left more tired than I arrived !

Bedroom beautifully presented. Tea, coffee and water in the room. Comfortable bed. Warm and cosy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar was well stocked good choice of drinks and cocktails. Breakfast, full breakfast included, delicious and lots of choice, eggs benedict, eggs royale etc. Would definitely recommend and stay again. There was a loyalty scheme but they didn't explain it so i have probably lost out on a lot of points. But otherwise excellent.

I only stayed at the property for one night. The room was cozy and clean, however a bit small and cold when I arrived. Check-in was fairly easy and the hotel satisfied my request for an earlier check-in. Breakfast was also good.

It’s a lovely hotel/pub/restaurant. The breakfast was spot on. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideal location and parking, sometimes staying in Burford parking is limited but they had a car park with sufficient spaces meaning you can park at the hotel and not worry about your car being far away or in time limited spaces on the main road. The room we stayed in was nice and decorated well and had an amazing shower. The only down side was the bed and pillows weren’t very comfy so me and my partner didn’t have a great sleep and woke up tired in the morning. Also we could hear every step from the room next door due to very squeaky floor boards. The cocktails were a little pricey at £9.50 a cocktail but I think they do have a cocktail deal on but it finishes at 7pm which we unfortunately just missed. If the mattress and bed sizes were to change we would definitely stay here again.

We have been to The Cotswolds many times, but this is the first time staying at the Prince of Burford. We were made very welcome from the beginning and was even offered a complimentary drink on arrival, which you don’t get in all hotels. Room was lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. Food was outstanding and the staff very attentive, friendly; all members of staff went above and beyond even though they were short staffed and busy. Special thanks to Jake, who served us dinner one evening, for his friendliness, advice on food choices and exceptional service. Many thanks to the Manager Chris and his wife for also making our stay one to remember. We will have no hesitation in recommending the Prince of Burford to our friends and family, and we will most definitely be back! Paul & Lynne W

We stayed for one night. We loved the Sunday roast; cooked perfectly, arranged meticulously on the plate, and plenty of delicious items. A+. The pub was also nice, they were short-staffed but very friendly. The entire staff were incredibly nice and friendly, except the gentleman at the reservation desk. He didn't smile, appeared overwhelmed, and ignored us when we passed him in the hall. We waited 45 minutes to check-in and part of that was because he forgot we were sitting there. He appeared to enjoy surfing the internet, but not the guests. Fortunately, the rest of the staff were amazing. Parking was tight due to the Sunday roast, so we had to wait to check in. The rooms were a B to a B-; we had a broken toilet seat and someone had failed to flush their "release" before turning the room over to us. I would definitely eat here again, but I have misgivings about whether I would stay or look elsewhere.

The room was very clean but cold, the window needs fixing Room 11. Nowhere much to sit apart from the bar unfortunately . Christina our hostess for dinner on Friday 21st was excellent and again for breakfast on Saturday, nothing was too much trouble for her. Rooms are very small and I think very expensive ,not good value for the money sadly.

Staff in this beautifully character hotel were exemplary throughout our stay. The bedroom was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Linens & towels were of good quality and the bed very comfortable. The complimentary tea tray was excellent with fresh coffee/ cafetiere & a selection of teas. Bottled water was provided & a bottle of milk. We had dinner and breakfast & both were good. The property is a short walk from the wonderful Burford high street. A real find.

Hotel was great, reception staff very helpful. Dining room, bar. Young staff who don’t know how to communicate, tables left uncleared, when we requested a table for dinner we had to request it be cleared. This was done, we further asked it be wiped, they never did this. Left waiting at table, no one advised us menus were at the bar. Food served, two knives and one fork in the table pot. Just all in all frustrating, no one seems to care about service anymore. If you’re going to employ youngsters with no face to face skills whatsoever, pleased teach them how to operate in the hospitality industry. Spoilt that aspect of our stay.

Lovely position to explore Cotswolds and pleasant stroll down the hill to Burford. Room very pleasant, only downside was we couldn't open window as road noisy. Pleasant staff, great breakfast. We had a very good evening meal although service was rather slow (appeared short staffed).

Our room was spacious, clean, and quiet – just what we needed to unwind. Plus, the food was top-notch and the location couldn't have been better if you plan to tour the cots world. Prince of Burford is a really nice pub. Decor is really nicely done. Restaurant evening meal: had to wait 55 mins for our main meal, wasnt busy at all. No apology for taken so long. No cutelry provided or empty glasses taken away. Staff are nice but I feel would really benefit from some more coaching or some more experienced staff on shift. Simple things such as making sure people have cutelry and not walking pass tables empty handed and not picking up plates/ glasses Room: really nice style and decor. We were facing main road but the noise wasnt too bad with windows shut. Mattress was not comfy and pillows could have been better. Nice touches of biscotti, pillow spray and toiletries provided were really nice. Breakfast: really lovely, staff on breakfast could not have been more helpful and were so lovely. Food was really nice.

Food was excellent if you didn’t have to wait too long. Dinner on first evening took 40 minutes to arrive & looked as if it had been re-heated. The room was poorly lit, there were no drawers to store clothing, no shelving in the shower room and no safe for valuables. The curtains were hanging all over the place & the bedside table lights were covered in dust. The shower was very good but we had the same towels for 4 days. Milk was not supplied without asking & on one occasion it had gone off.

Dinner and the service was very good. Our room was very stuffy and loud bring at the front of the property. Breakfast was a shambles and took over an hour to be provided to us despite there only being a handful of other tables. Rather disappointing experience

Hotels rooms small, but to be expected for an old building. The bathroom did not have a shelf or stand to put a wash bag on, so had to go on the floor. Our son in Room 1 had a cracked sink! and the inner door did not fit the frame properly and need slamming shut. Also door to the area (to the outside rooms) was locked and had to go around the car park to get to the room. The décor was very tired throughout. Far too many plants. Positive side, a fan was provided in the room. Reception staff helpful. Lovely to have a drink upon arrival. Bar staff not so - upon asking for an Aperol Spritz (bottle in plain sight) we were told that they could not use the prosecco due to a delivery problem, but were offered a Hugo Spritz which has prosecco??? The Hugo - not very good, far too much lime, Elderflower cordial used instead of syrup or liqueur, so tasteless. Breakfast - the cooked element was very cook, quality ingredients and tasty, but butter was not provided for the toast. The cold section not amazing, the cheese was dry and curled, not sure how how long that and the ham had been out without a covering or cold underneath, the juices were not replenished without asking, the butter not topped up (only one provided).
Hotels rooms small, but to be expected for an old building. The bathroom did not have a shelf or stand to put a wash bag on, so had to go on the floor. Our son in Room 1 had a cracked sink! and the inner door did not fit the frame properly and need slamming shut. Also door to the area (to the outside rooms) was locked and had to go around the car park to get to the room. The décor was very tired throughout. Far too many plants. Positive side, a fan was provided in the room. Reception staff helpful. Lovely to have a drink upon arrival. Bar staff not so - upon asking for an Aperol Spritz (bottle in plain sight) we were told that they could not use the prosecco due to a delivery problem, but were offered a Hugo Spritz which has prosecco??? The Hugo - not very good, far too much lime, Elderflower cordial used instead of syrup or liqueur, so tasteless. Breakfast - the cooked element was very cook, quality ingredients and tasty, but butter was not provided for the toast. Wonderful boutique hotel. Room was spacious and luxurious, the bed was very comfortable and room was spotlessly clean. Friendly and warm staff, breakfast was excellent. Would stay again. Great location, short walk to shops in Burford.

Lovely 3 night stay at the Prince of Burford. Very central for the surrounding areas, not to say Diddly squat farm shop and the Farmers dog. Breakfast arrived fast, plentiful and hot. Couldn't fault the staff. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel, staff were amazing and actually went above and beyond for us when our car ended up needing to go to the garage and left us stranded, they gave us a late checkout free of charge and then stored our bags for us. The breakfast was absolutely 10/10, really impressed! They also gave us a complimentary drink each at their bar, and left fresh chocolate chip cookies in the bedroom!. Nice coffee machine and tea bags etc in the room, The bed was super comfy and the room was nice and dark, the only thing was we only had a sheet rather than a duvet, but I'm not sure if that's because it's just been a really hot summer, maybe in winter they provide duvets. Would 100% stay again, and also ideal if you want to go to the farmers dog as it's just down the road. Burford also lovely little shops / cafes / pubs etc within walking distance

Lovely character hotel, staff made it though as they couldn't do enough for you. The breakfast was amazing. Room was hot but at 37C in a building that is very old they did their best with fans. Would be very happy to stay again.
