An overnight stop in small-town USA. We enjoyed it & the hotel was basic but absolutely fine. Nice & clean with friendly, helpful staff. No lift though. Good brew pub a very short drive away for dinner. Bridges of Maddison County nearby and John Wayne birthplace!

Very clean hotel…when I arrived at the hotel found out there was no elevator. Luckily there were only two levels. Was inconvenient carrying luggage up two flights of stairs. My room air conditioning wasnt working properly so they moved me to another room. Luckily there was a cancellation across the hall from me. They were very nice and accommodating.

Liked the comfortable beds and bedding. Air conditioning worked great and the little bar was a nice addition to our family gathering. There was no elevator to the second floor that was hard for some of our family members but we made it work.

Have stayed there before and when I requested a ground floor room they did it. This time she won't do it they had rooms on the first floor empty that night they don't have an elevator so was hard to get up the stairs. How do they expect a wheelchair to get up the stairs?

Lovely hotel on the edge of Winterset with large and airy rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The constant supply of excellent coffee was great too. Easy parking. Thought it excellent value for money for a woman travelling alone!

The only thing I had a problem with is that they didn't clean the room every day. We had to ask for more towels. On the 2nd day we asked to have towels and clean up. They just brought us towels .

The Cobblestone was exceptionally clean, convenient and comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was very good, and well supplied in a clean dinning area. We enjoyed our stay at the Cobblestone almost as much as viewing the covered bridges around Winterset.

The Cobblestone Inn is very clean and safe. The beds are SO comfortable! We slept like babies! The woman at the front desk was very nice and so helpful! Breakfast is included in the reasonable price. :) I would stay here again for sure.

Great Staff and Excellent Facility Made Up for One Minor Inconvenience. This hotel was built in 2015, and is still very well kept. Try to get a room facing the back, as there is a field of wildflowers (with housing beyond). Our room was clean and tidy and very comfortable. Super nice staff! On Sunday morning (7/27), the desk clerk happened to be in our hallway and asked if we wanted help carrying our cooler downstairs! How nice! She also gave us great info on which Covered Bridge to visit that was the most convenient if we didn't want to travel gravel roads (Cutler-Donahoe in City Park). Super helpful! I highly recommend this hotel. Yes, it's a chain, so rather nondescript in many ways, but the experience was as welcoming as it could be. The minor inconvenience: The internet was out. We had to use our WiFi hotspot. They gave us a number to call, but we didn't want to hassle with it. Not a huge problem for us, as we spent most of our time exploring the area.

Newer property only 5 years old. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The breakfast area was large for a hotel this size, with ample offerings.

The staff was quick to check me in and the lobby was welcoming. Room was clean and had everything I needed. Hotel parking lot was full, but the room was quiet and restful. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee is much appreciated after traveling.

The room and motel was clean but it was a nightmare checking in. They had me checked in even though I just got there. Then they had my name but they had my address living in texas which I've never lived there. It was under my name though. When I checked out the receipt didn't have my credit card listed but someone else's. They finally got it all straightened out but wow what a mess.

I was a little surprised that they didn’t shoe I had a reservation even though I made it months in advance and had paid for it through Expedia. The lady at check in was very nice and said they still had 4 rooms available and I was given one. I would’ve been upset after driving all day if there wasn’t one ready for me. Might’ve been a glitch on someone end? Still it was a pleasant stay.

This was a lovely, friendly, well kept hotel that was nicer than you would expect in a town in the middle of farm country. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the town itself was just adorable. Hotel receptionist was very helpful with describing the 4 restaurants in town that weren't chain restaurants, and her recommendations were spot on. Morning breakfast was well organized, but was nothing special. That being said, driving the 35 frequently and looking for a stop near Des Moines, I would definitely favor this stop slightly south of Des Moines in a safe, cute community with eating options that are better than Des Moines.

The property was close to downtown area. People were friendly and very accommodating. Not much is going on in Winterset this time of year. We did visit all the Madison County Covered Bridges, and the John Wayne Museum.

Lovely hotel on the edge of Winterset with large and airy rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The constant supply of excellent coffee was great too. Easy parking. Thought it excellent value for money for a woman travelling alone!

Clean, quiet, comfortable. The pillows are not the best, they go flat super easy. Breakfast was not good. We’ve stayed here before and had good breakfast. This time the waffle mix was very runny and the waffles tasted “off”. They also only offer sugar free syrup which was not good. There was no bacon or sausage and the eggs were bland and chalky at best. The biscuits were hard. The cereal and yogurt was good though.

The breakfast left something to be desired. The juice wasn’t very good, and neither was biscuits, as they were cold. The people were all very nice and the service was great.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and updated. The beds were very comfortable. They have an excellent breakfast. The breakfast lounge is spacious and the selection of food is great.

Grear place to stay if you are exploring the Covered bridges. Room was clean & comfortable. Shower was goid. Breakfast was just ok, not a huge selection & bagels were old & pretty hard. Would stay there again. Loved Winterset. One of the best midwest small towns i have been to.

The Cobblestone was exceptionally clean, convenient and comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was very good, and well supplied in a clean dinning area. We enjoyed our stay at the Cobblestone almost as much as viewing the covered bridges around Winterset.

Big fine room, comfortable beds but awful pillows. Breakfast a disaster, dry stale bread individually packed in plastic wrap. Butter hard as ice cubes and very week coffe.

This is a good hotel with nice staff that will go above and beyond in order to give you a pleasant stay. We liked that they had a bar, as well as breakfast. Comfy beds!

This was the best hotel I have stayed at in ages! There is a lounge that has drinks and food. The breakfast had the biggest variety ever! The scrambled eggs were moist. There was salsa for the eggs and blueberry topping for the waffles. Will definitely stay again.

We had a very peaceful 3 night stay on the first floor. We had a double queen room, it was clean and well stocked. I did need to ask front desk for extra towels on the 3rd evening, but that was not a problem at all. The beds were comfortable and clean. My party of 2 included my cousin, the 2 of us had plenty of room for ourselves. The room was spacious enough.
