This place is perfect! Staff is attentive and the food was delicious. Love the bird background noise in the room, the great coffee that is always available, river front dining with our wonderful waitress and the cozy and comfortable bed and bath. Motorcycle garage a plus!

Parking was easy, right near the door. Staff was absent from front desk, so we had to wait for someone to alert the clerk. Room was immaculate, only issue is bed was too soft for us. Tavern restaurant was mediocre, trout fish and chips was pathetic. Breakfast was excellent.

Look at the website pics. This Lodge looks and feels exactly like the website pics. No way to go wrong if you like a rustic stay in the mountains. A sure nuff trout stream… fire pits and s’mores at night… cozy bar/customer lounge…great hiking trails…fast cars courtesy of the rail of the dragon… mountains everywhere

We found the hotel quite by chance after our previous booking at Asheville was cancelled due to Hurricane Helene. We absolutely loved everything about our stay - the hotel, the location, the staff, the hot tub, the hiking trails, and the trout I had in the Tapoco Tavern was one of the best meals I have had during my time in the US. We live in the UK but will definitely recommend the lodge to our family living in Atlanta and anybody we know visiting North Carolina

First visit ~ this place was simply amazing! One night weekend anniversary trip with my bride on our Super Tenere. Room was phenomenal, meal at the lodge was superb (had the trout appetizer and the loaded pizza), walked the beautiful grounds, relaxed on the porch over looking the river and appreciated the covered bike parking for our rainy morning departure.

First visit ~ this place was simply amazing! One night weekend anniversary trip with my bride on our Super Tenere. Room was phenomenal, meal at the lodge was superb (had the trout appetizer and the loaded pizza), walked the beautiful grounds, relaxed on the porch over looking the river and appreciated the covered bike parking for our rainy morning departure.

Beautiful lodge and property. I was looking for something tucked in the mountains that would accomodate my dog. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Mountain cabin was clean and very comfortable. Got some.nreakfsst sandwiches in the morning, amd the biscuits were delicious. There are also miles of hiking trails on and near the property, and a gorgeous river.

We loved our stay at the Lodge. It’s such a peaceful, relaxing place. The restaurant was very good and service was excellent. The Overlook Cabin was great except for the bathroom which is in need of a major update.

The room was clean and comfortable and large Staff is very friendly Small store on site has great gift items Downside is there wasn’t a TV in the room Also cars on The Dragon can be noisy Restaurant is just OK- pizza was delicious but other food (burgers, trout) not great

Another great trip to the lodge. Our only disappointment was the removal of the breakfast buffet. The breakfast menu was lacking in our opinion and very pricey. Our cabin was nice but definitely needs weather stripping around the door

The Tapoco Lodge is absolutely beautiful and the staff was amazing. The cabin we stayed in felt like everything was antique but somehow still new. My only complaint was that Expedia allowed me to book it as a pet-friendly room when the actual room I chose wasn’t pet-friendly. The Tapoco honored the reservation anyway and took care of us. They were terrific. My wife is already asking if we can stay here again.

We selected a cabin and could easily walk from it to the main lodge. The setting on the water was perfect. Just a short ride from the Lodge is the southern tip of the Tail of the Dragon, a great ride for us in our Vette.

Driving the Tail of the Dragon and staying at the Tapoco lodge as been on my bucket list for years. Neither disappointed. The folks at the lodge were super nice, dinner and drinks were lots of fun. The location is fantastic and the property is really enjoyable. The cabins are rustic cabins so don't expect 5 star accommodations but they're fun.

It has a fabulous history and is a wonderful location for a get away. The food is fabulous, particularly the mountain trout! The staff are warm and friendly and so helpful!

Look at the website pics. This Lodge looks and feels exactly like the website pics. No way to go wrong if you like a rustic stay in the mountains. A sure nuff trout stream… fire pits and s’mores at night… cozy bar/customer lounge…great hiking trails…fast cars courtesy of the rail of the dragon… mountains everywhere

This was a motorcycle trip from TX for me and a friend. From the Covered parking, on site food and drinks, and easy, quick access to the Tail of the Dragon and so much more. This is was a perfect place to stay.

We selected a cabin and could easily walk from it to the main lodge. The setting on the water was perfect. Just a short ride from the Lodge is the southern tip of the Tail of the Dragon, a great ride for us in our Vette.

Driving the Tail of the Dragon and staying at the Tapoco lodge as been on my bucket list for years. Neither disappointed. The folks at the lodge were super nice, dinner and drinks were lots of fun. The location is fantastic and the property is really enjoyable. The cabins are rustic cabins so don't expect 5 star accommodations but they're fun.

Driving the Tail of the Dragon and staying at the Tapoco lodge as been on my bucket list for years. Neither disappointed. The folks at the lodge were super nice, dinner and drinks were lots of fun. The view out of our window was beautiful, we were on the creek side. The room was clean and comfortable and large Staff is very friendly Small store on site has great gift items Downside is there wasn’t a TV in the room Also cars on The Dragon can be noisy Restaurant is just OK- pizza was delicious but other food (burgers, trout) not great

We really enjoyed our stay at Historic Tapoco Lodge. Beautiful setting, great holiday decorations, exceptional service/food, and live music. We look forward to our next time there!

Parking was easy, right near the door. Staff was absent from front desk, so we had to wait for someone to alert the clerk. Room was immaculate, only issue is bed was too soft for us. Tavern restaurant was mediocre, trout fish and chips was pathetic. Breakfast was excellent.

It has a fabulous history and is a wonderful location for a get away. The food is fabulous, particularly the mountain trout! The staff are warm and friendly and so helpful!

We found the hotel quite by chance after our previous booking at Asheville was cancelled due to Hurricane Helene. We absolutely loved everything about our stay - the hotel, the location, the staff, the hot tub, the hiking trails, and the trout I had in the Tapoco Tavern was one of the best meals I have had during my time in the US. We live in the UK but will definitely recommend the lodge to our family living in Atlanta and anybody we know visiting North Carolina

First visit ~ this place was simply amazing! One night weekend anniversary trip with my bride on our Super Tenere. Room was phenomenal, meal at the lodge was superb (had the trout appetizer and the loaded pizza), walked the beautiful grounds, relaxed on the porch over looking the river and appreciated the covered bike parking for our rainy morning departure.

Another great trip to the lodge. Our only disappointment was the removal of the breakfast buffet. The breakfast menu was lacking in our opinion and very pricey. Our cabin was nice but definitely needs weather stripping around the door

Beautiful lodge and property. I was looking for something tucked in the mountains that would accomodate my dog. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Mountain cabin was clean and very comfortable. Got some.nreakfsst sandwiches in the morning, amd the biscuits were delicious. There are also miles of hiking trails on and near the property, and a gorgeous river.

I have been staying here for 5 years in a cabin and have always been pleased with the property. This year was different. The outside of the cabin looked rundown. Chipped paint around the door, and a pane of glass was broken and taped. Not a great impression. The cabin was clean but the toilet lid was old and stained even though a brand new walkin shower had been installed. No hand towel available and there was an iron with no board. I hope our next stay is better.

Cabin floor dirty - used a-tips, Bobby pins, etc on floor which tells us floor was not cleaned; trails are not easily accessible; felt restaurant food was priced too high.

The room I reserved several months ago was given to someone else by management and we were given another but I was never told about the change which really upset me. The room we were stuck with had no heat the first night, we used the electric fireplace and extra blankets. The sink had no drain stopper the bathroom heat lamps did not work. The staff was nice and pleasant
