Unsure how this hotel was rated so highly. Old, rundown hotel, though staff does their best to keep up. First room had huge stains on carpet, musty smell and water leaking through the ceiling. Cramped, gravel parking, no breakfast, just a very basic workmans hotel.

Reasonable rate for a decent room. Easy access and parking. Arrived at night and the view of the cliffs in the morning with the old trains going by was lovely. Only con was the Wi-Fi was out of service, unfortunately. Highly recommend Zuly’s Mexican food just up the road.

The beds were OK. The tiny bathroom was very shabby. The parking lot was gravel and dust. The TV was too small. The water had an unappealing brown tint. It was noisy. But, since it was the only place in town, it was the best.

At least the cockroach I saw was dead! And maybe the long black hairs between the sheets were from the cleaner. And the hairs in the shower were the cleaning person, as well. And, the room is carpeted. Yuck! I always say to my family that we have to say 3 good things. The a/c was good and cold, plenty of towels and great water pressure in the shower. Next time I’m in Clifton, I will try a different motel.

Bed was fine. Room was clean. Was a very hot day over 100 degrees. The AC ran for 16 hours straight putting out slightly cool air. The room was about 80 degrees inside so AC needs service. Also need new shower head the current one seems partially clogged so water was coming out uneven.

Upon arrival the office door was locked. That was not a big problem as a phone was located next to the door. I assumed correctly it was to contact the attendant. She quickly responded and I was able to check in. When I hung up the phone I noticed a doorbell button next to the phone. I asked if I should have pressed that instead of using the phone. She replied it was not a functional doorbell. OK, I thought. I could have rung the doorbell and just waited... My point is that if the doorbell is there it should either work or be removed to avoid any delays. The room itself was nice and clean and quiet, with one major caveat. The AC unit was LOUD. There were setting for the fan: High, Medium, Low and Auto. It did not make a difference as to the noise level. ALL were LOUD. I had to turn it off to sleep. The bathroom was very nice. It looked like it was recently remodelled. If I were to stay in this motel again I would check the AC unit first to check its function and noise level before I unpacked for the night.

Check-in was slow. Attendant had to be summoned by phone. The owners are obviously taking care in the restoration of the property. Room to go, but a lot of progress already quite evident! Kudos to Management for making this a nice place to stay!

This is a small property and built a long time ago and could use some renovation however it was safe and extremely clean, The ladies at the office were very nice, the location is nice right by the river. I stayed there two weekends in a row to rockhound and I am planning to stay there again.

The hotel is occupied heavily by the mine workers, So the traffic in and out is heavy very early and late . Our room was not well kept. The staff was hospitable. The beds were comfortable and clean. No breakfast.

Good location and easy access. Old and outdated But bedding was good. Seemed to be doing some renovation. Discoloration from age in bathroom. Saw a roach. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Let us park a vehicle for an extra day. Best price for convenience.

I was fine for an overnight stop. Since there's much to do around it would be nice to have a TV with more channels or one we can stream, the Internet was very slow and intermittent.

Hello, I’m a 53-year old resident of Phoenix since ‘79 and a wedding near here is what necessitated this stay. It is dog friendly for a minor fee, which was a joy and a lifesaver. The room and beds were CLEAN, smelled fresh and the bathroom was very clean along with the shower. Having a mini-fridge and a microwave were a huge plus. Watch out as everything around here closes for the day VERY EARLY, so plan your check in and meal options in advance. YES, I’d stay here again, it is a hell of a great value!! - Brian W
