Very clean well maintained hotel. They only had one elevator and it was very busy all the time but we just took the stairs. Very friendly staff. We’ll stay there again.

The main hotel is beautiful- unfortunately we were in the “additional building/ building B” putting this review out there to warn you of that. There is no elevator in building B the rooms are smaller and the condition of the bathrooms - not as nice. Request the main building when booking!

This is our very favorite hotel in the Outer Banks. Excellent location and the hotel is fantastic. Lots of extra perks like breakfast, popcorn snack then wine and cheese in the afternoon and cookies at night.

Perfect location for the OBX Jeep Invasion! Plenty of parking and fast convenient checkin. Complimentary popcorn in the lobby as well as cookies each night. Pool looked inviting but did not get to take advantage of it. Easy access to the beach. Will definitely be back again!

Exactly what we hoped for from a beachfront hotel. The staff was attentive to every detail - well maintained, clean, friendly. Indoor pool with hot tub and outdoor pool with ample deck and lounge seating. Various snacks in the lobby through the day - popcorn, wine and cheese, and fresh baked cookies! Free breakfast included was a full breakfast and delicious. We will definitely be back.

There isn’t anything you wouldn’t like! Clean property, on the beach, have chairs for the beach, indoor & outdoor pool & hot tub. Corn hole, breakfast included! Popcorn, wine tasting with cheese & crackers& fruit, lemonade & ice tea, & cookies daily.( Coffee, teas hot cocoa & water 24/7) & pool towels ! What wonderful employees they have!

The hotel was very nice and clean. Many amenities including a wonderful free breakfast, chair rental, free fresh cookies, popcorn, wine and cheese. 2 pools. Excellent ocean and sound views. Friendly, helpful staff. We did have to report that we saw a roach in our room, that we tried to catch and kill, to no avail. I was very surprised and hated to see that, given how clean the property was. I think sometimes these crafty bugs are unavoidable. We very thoroughly checked all of our belongings, so as not to bring any home. Despite that incident, I would still recommend staying at this hotel.

It was a good stay, friendly staff, great views and next to the water but the only concern was that there were cockroaches in the room. We ate a banana during the evening and put the banana peel in the trash can and next morning there were several small cockroaches in the trash bin.

The staff was amazing. They were all very friendly and helpfull. The entire hotel was clean and tidy. I would book here again in a heart beat and I would recommend this place to anyone!

Very nice and clean property right on the beach!! Rooms were spacious. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Shower and bathroom were clean. Staff were very friendly. A lot of things to do close by. Would definitely stay again!!

Our room was very clean and kept that way each day. The hot breakfast was good and changed each day. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The location was great since we wanted to explore all of the area, and it was right in the middle. Beach chairs were available to sit on the beach, which had direct access. There was a good choice of nearby restaurants.

We stayed for 6 nights and never had a single problem the staff was courteous and well informed and rooms and common areas were kept immaculate. The breakfast was delicious with a terrific variety. We very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider staying here again should we return..

This was a great hotel to stay at. Everything was clean and in working order. The pool is clean which was a huge plus! We had a great view of the ocean from our balcony, loved that! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be staying here again on our next trip.

The stay was nice. The room was beautiful and loved the kitchen. Being able to have this kitchen saved a ton of money as I was able to cook we meals instead of going out for every meal. Breakfast was awesome and have a variety of food breakfast items to choose from daily. Very close to the beach and literally has its own access to the beach. It’s my first time at the Outer Banks. Being we only go on vacation once a year at the same time. Going to different hotels this was the best room ever. Only thing I hope can be improve is the WIFI. WiFi sucked and would go in and out and at night after 8pm seemed to just cut out and then was in and out throughout the day. I plan on booking next year and hope the WIFI is better as that’s an important part to us. Other than that everything was perfect.

Booked a room facing the main parking lot but still had a great partial view of the ocean from our balcony! It was relaxing to sit outside on the chairs and look at the ocean, especially to view the sunset. The room was clean, and spacious, with comfortable beds and quiet. It was nice to have a table and chairs to eat inside or play games at night. The breakfast had different items each day, including a hot section where the staff served you, plenty to choose from. Everything was delicious, especially loved the biscuits and quiches. The evening reception and cookies were a nice touch. The outdoor pool was clean and fairly empty whenever we passed by. It was a close walk to the beach and we were able to check out free chairs for the day. Loved the private and beautiful beach. It was never crowded and the water was fairly calm to swim in (wasn't too cold for the first week of June). We were in Kill Devil Hills for a bit, and this beach in Nags Head was better with calmer waters. There was a new sundeck on the second floor that provided a relaxing spot to view the town and enjoy the sunset as well. Overall, this was a great hotel to stay at that felt safe with retirees and young families.

The loft room we stayed in smelled musty and could not get the space in the loft area to cool despite AC on high, tower fan and ceiling fan on too. The tv streaming was spotty because the internet connection was in and out. Worst of all the room had a bug infestation. Management was informed of the issue and sprayed room but problem still persisted. No room change was offered nor a refund.

We met our kids here for a three day vacation. We stayed in the Ocean Front corner unit and the view and sounds of the ocean were fabulous. Nice size room with a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The only thing i was not thrilled about was the shampoo and conditioner. I just did not like the smell of it. Other then that everything else was perfect. I would certainly stay here again.

Great location to the beach and walkable to Jeanette’s Pier. Only issue we had were the beds. Unfortunately, probably the worst mattresses we’ve ever had at a hotel or resort. Needed to use the hot tub every morning for our sore backs but that didn’t open until 10am. The nightly wine and charcuterie was welcome and the cookies every night too. Would consider staying again if the beds are upgraded.

Rooms were clean, beds were neat and comfortable. Had an issue with refrigerator noise in room, talked to associate at front desk, and was told someone would check it out. Apparently, nothing was done, noise woke me and wife several times throughout the night...

We stayed in the ocean front king suite . The room was an ok value it was a little cramped but has an amazing view. The room is equipped with three balconies! Although the room has a dividing pocket door I would not consider it having a seperate bedroom.

Absolutely amazing staff and hotel. Would like to extend my thanks to the front desk person who helped me and my husband. I ended up so very ill that we had to book another night because I couldn’t leave at our checkout time. She said to my husband “No Worries” and when she said that we were so relieved because we knew she meant it. So accommodating! If they can help you with something they will for sure. Love all the staff!

Amazing service! Every employee I interacted with was super nice and helpful! I noticed a couple of places in the hotel and hotel room that may have needed closer cleaning. The breakfast was delicious, but I would have preferred a self-serve buffet style breakfast with a couple more items. One last thing my family and I enjoyed was the daily cookies, available popcorn, and free wine :)

Stayed at Surf Side for a weeks vacation/ 48th Anniversary. Everything was great about this hotel, staff when checking in was friendly, room was clean and comfortable, nice touch with the 5:00 pm Wine and cheese social also the cookies @ 8:00 pm both everyday. The cleaning staff was nice and seemed happy to be there and the breakfast everyday was amazing with the girls serving the breakfast, they were super nice Jeanette, Sara, Ella and the rest 😊 enjoy your stay when you go. Convenient to many places.

Front desk clerk has a bit of an attitude but everyone else was so polite and friendly. Lots of staff constantly clean and keeping things very nice.

Great location that was close to many restaurants and activities. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Our shower handle broke off and maintence was at our door within 6 mins of calling the front desk. The daily breakfast was very good and coffee and water was available throughout the day. We look forward to our next stay at the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at Surf Side Hotel. It is right on the beach. Great location for a good price. Walkable to Jennette’s Pier among other attractions. The hotel provides beach chairs if you ask the front desk staff. Access to the beach was really easy. We enjoyed the complementary wine and cheese happy hour and the late-night chocolate chip cookie hour. The breakfast at the hotel was also good. Each morning they had some staples that never changed, but they did rotate a few items to keep their menu fresh. My husband really enjoyed the waffle bar. Our room was very clean and had a beautiful view of the ocean housekeeping was very pleasant and always checked on us even if we had our privacy tag on the door to make sure we didn’t need fresh towels or want our garbage taken out. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking to stay in the Outer Banks.

Super clean and staff is amazing. Love that it’s waterfront walk right out to the beach. Breakfast was awesome. And loved the complimentary wine and cheese and cookies every day. Conveniently located to many restaurants within walking distance and short drive to other parts of OBX.

Of course it was surf side. Beautiful beach. our room was modern and tastefully furnished. Nice breakfast space. Friendly staff. Ample parking. Not fussy. Extremely comfortable porch chairs. Walking distance to Cahoun’s store and Jeanette’s Pier. 5 minutes from golf and outlet mall. Loved our stay just off peak season late May.

I’m can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our stay!! Wish it was 2 nights!! Absolutely coming back again. The staff is great, the amenities are great, and you have access to the beach from the hotel. Everything about the place is so cute!!!

Great location with a lovely beach. The hotel was nicely appointed with a refrigerator and microwave. They offer a yummy breakfast and evening wine reception. Local restaurants are within walking distance but more crosswalks are needed across Highway 12 for safe travel.

The breakfast was a wonderful improvement over any other motel I have stayed in previously. The staff including maintenance were courteous and helpful any time I interacted with them. I would definitely stay here again, and will also recommend the hotel to my friends and family.

It is located beachfront. Convenient location, friendly staff.Phenomenal breakfast consisting of quiche, biscuits & gravy, grit’s potatoes, cooked apples, corned beef hash, waffles, pastries, juice. Rooms are clean. Would definitely stay again.

Great breakfast! Our family enjoyed popcorn in the lobby, wine and cheese social hour and nightly cookies. The mini fridge in the room had a separate freezer which allowed us to freeze and refreeze the icepacks for our beach coolers.

This hotel was fantastic. The room was clean and every member of the staff that we encountered were friendly and courteous. The breakfast was fresh and hot and the extra amenities such as the popcorn all day and cookies in the evening were a welcome touch.

Amazing service! Every employee I interacted with was super nice and helpful! I noticed a couple of places in the hotel and hotel room that may have needed closer cleaning. The breakfast was delicious, but I would have preferred a self-serve buffet style breakfast with a couple more items. One last thing my family and I enjoyed was the daily cookies, available popcorn, and free wine :)

We had a lovely time staying at Surfside Hotel. The front desk staff is accommodating, extremely friendly and fun. We enjoyed the mid afternoon snacks as well as the hot breakfast. The room was clean and the ocean view was perfect.

This is an amazing find! The marketing staff thought of all the amenities for their guest. The hot breakfast was delicious and not the same thing everyday. The whole hotel cleanliness was excellent. The staff could not be more helpful, Jason was very helpful, kind and courteous. Having a happy hour with wine and cheese, cookies and popcorn! They have everything you need for a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Will definitely tell everyone I know and will be returning!
