I like the set up of the property. The units are like little apartments with different sections. Our unit is quaint and cozy with windows overlooking the courtyard. The fireplace is cute and functional especially on cold days. The courtyard has gardens filled with flower plants and greeneries. There are also tables and chairs for outdoor relaxation. The staff are pleasant. The parking is limited in the property but there are streets parking available.

Parking is horrible. They only offer approximately 6-7 spaces and it’s first come first serve. Then you have to find parking on the street. Water pressure isn’t very good in shower. The bed was surprisingly okay and comfortable. Very old complex inside and out but still cute. The price was cheap but still didn’t make up for the parking situation.

We have stayed at the Carmel Fireplace Inn a few times now, and it has been consistently good. The gardens are always beautiful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The Inn is a nice walk away from many restaurant and shopping options in the beautiful town of Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Loved the proximity to town and beach. Friendly staff and quaint vibe. Beds were comfortable and fireplaces made it feel homey. Only negative was-Parking was tight. A wonderful visit and I hope to be back again soon.

Gardens beautiful, main problem was lack of enough on site parking and surrounding area was 2hrs only, poor instructions from staff. No secure bag storage. Room pretty small. Stairs to room with no support to help with bags which would have been an issue if you were an older traveler

The Inn’s staff were helpful, kind, and attentive. The rooms were clean and bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Overall our stay was seamless and we enjoyed the fireplace in our room. There’s plenty of street parking around the Inn in case the parking lot is full. Would definitely recommend!

The place is older but is very nice, very clean room. The grounds are well maintained. Fireplace was a great touch for a romantic night. It’s 5 minutes walking distance to restaurants and stores downtown. The complementary toiletries were well stocked. The coffee was good. Parking is limited due to the area being busy. Overall experience was good. I would recommend it.

The best thing is that it’s convenient and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was old, tired, run down and needs a major update. The room smelled like mildew, the bathroom and shower were VERY small. We were very disappointed with the condition of the hotel and will not stay there again. They need to do a major overhaul of the property and have a parking lot that can accommodate more than 7 cars. For the price - it was definitely not worth it. We have stayed at many different hotels in Carmel over the years, this is the only one that we will never return to.

Overall average inn in old building, looks and feels like 2 star motel with funky smell that will stay on your clothes. Located on noisy street with lots of people traffic. Parking is rather gard, very little place for maneuvers. Room is clean, no questions here. But amenities are rather old and feels like they need renovations. Lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming.

I had such a lovely stay at Carmel Fireplace Inn! Katie at the front desk was so kind and helped me navigate the parking situation :) My room was great - clean, spacious, and I loved the fireplace option. I can't wait to come back and stay longer than one night!

Staff was great. But that doesn’t make up for the condition of the rooms. There was no door knob or handle on the door to the room! Not joking; instead there was a belt hook (like in a closet) we used to pull the door shut so we could press the electronic button to lock it. So weird. Screens were missing on 2 of the windows. Then construction started above us before we could check out- it was SO loud. Our dogs went crazy it was so loud. Blown away that they didn’t consider us before the work started. Parking was very limited. At least it was located close to food/shopping.

On arriving we found our bill (with others) stuck to reception door as we were in a delayed flight and reception closed at 7pm. The room was very small and tired. A wall light didn’t work and the bathroom basin didn’t have hot water. The shower was a box with it lighting and the shower head wasn’t firmly fixed so not a great experience. Tried to tell reception about these issues but closed on arrival and closed when we left (not early) on Saturday. I also went on their website to give feedback but no contact address.

Staff was wonderful, location was great and walkable to beach and restaurants! All rooms have working fireplaces which was cozy! Only con, if you're staying in a downstairs room, the floor above is very creaky and walls are thin. Other than that, great stay!!

Great location, clean, and friendly staff. However, room was very small, and ther bathroom was extremely tiny. You could barely maneuver near the sink. And the room needed a fan to circulate the air.

The pros were that the bed was decent, and it was very clean inside. The cons are that the property is very dated, the windows look out onto somebody’s parked car, there’s no curtains to block out the glaring overhead outside light at night, the shades do not do a good job of blocking light. If you need a dark room, this is not your place. If you need windows open because there’s no AC – as expected for Carmel – there’s a Loud College-age Bar across the street that apparently warrants ringing a bell and screaming often.

Suite with two beds and two bathrooms was such a perfect set up for my husband and I with our two small kids. Nothing like putting the babies to sleep and then having a lovely bedroom with a couch and a fireplace to hang out together for the rest of the evening. As all parents who have traveled with kids know - putting kids to bed and then having to sit in a dark hotel room being quiet after they go to sleep is such a bummer. This hotel suite was pretty much perfect and avoided that completely! We all walked to a lovely dinner downtown and it felt safe and easy, and then came back to enjoy the fireplace Carmel cottage magic, and we will totally come back

The heater did not work. We were told that they unit below ours also didn’t have heat so the staff gave them the only space heater they have. They then sai the electrical trips when more than one heater is used. Yea there is a fireplace but it’s gas and not for heating. The owner never came by to fix the heater. And the office was closed on Sunday. If a building has electrical issues with circuits constantly tripping better get someone out there to fix it before your lack of maintenance causes a fire. This will be reported to the city and fire department

The Check in process was easy, with friendly, informative staff. The room itself was older, but clean and with all of the amenities you need. It’s a nice, small property with beautiful landscaping. The only downside is there is limited parking but there is street parking. If you plan on walking everywhere, it’s no problem.

The room was quaint and lovely. Lady at check in was not friendly during our experience. She was overly friendly and chatty with the person ahead of us but very dry and uninterested in engaging with my fiancé and I during check in. Would not come again due to that experience. All guests should be treated equally

Front desk woman at check in was cold and didnt know the meaning of a smile. This is not what I expect nor what I want. The toilet seat had no lid & the ice bucket had no plastic liner. Both are very unsanitary. The area to hang close was childrens sized at about 3 feet off the ground at best. The room was light with wood shutters on most windows.

We had a wonderful time. Augustina was very friendly and helpful. Place was located perfect among shops, restaurants and the beach. Cute room. Will definitely go again

We had a wonderful time. Augustina was very friendly and helpful. Place was located perfect among shops, restaurants and the beach. Cute room. Will definitely go again

On arriving we found our bill (with others) stuck to reception door as we were in a delayed flight and reception closed at 7pm. The room was very small and tired. A wall light didn’t work and the bathroom basin didn’t have hot water. The shower was a box with it lighting and the shower head wasn’t firmly fixed so not a great experience. Tried to tell reception about these issues but closed on arrival and closed when we left (not early) on Saturday. I also went on their website to give feedback but no contact address.

Amazing property in the ideal location. Literally a four minute walk to Ocean Ave and all the loveliness Carmel had to offer. Stunning ocean view from the Delores II cottage.

This inn was conveniently located. It was an easy walk to downtown Carmel by the Sea. We could leave our car at the inn, so we didn't have to find parking or move on street car parking

We appreciated how quiet the room was! We come to Carmel often and usually the rooms are loud at hotels in the area and wakes me up. This was still a great location but off the path just enough to have it be quieter. The room could have been updated but it is expected. Free parking and ample spaces. Would have loved breakfast but only a few hotels offer that now it seems. Thanks for a fun stay!

Struttura molto accogliente e curata nei minimi dettagli, bellissimi i vialetti per raggiungere le stanze. L’unica cosa negativa è stata la totale assenza di guardaroba e appendi abiti, nemmeno per i capotti. Nonostante la camera fosse molto grande abbiamo dovuto poggiare le valigie a terra.

This was a magical place to stay in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The courtyard is lovely with sun, shade, ample seating, and beautiful, well-maintained flowers and plants. The room was lovely, quaint, and clean. The bed was comfortable and the fireplace worked great. The location is unbeatable! We were just steps away from all the main sights, restaurants, and shops in town. The front desk staff was immensely kind and helpful with great recommendations for dinner. We loved our stay and highly recommend!

Room is clean but rather small. Enough for 2 adults to stay comfortably, but not if you’re traveling with family and kids. Since this is an older property, rooms are not soundproof so expect to hear your neighbors if they’re rather loud. Service is minimal as well. The reception area closes by 6 pm and housekeeping is only available if you stay 3 nights or more. This was rather disappointing! The best part of this Inn is the cozy fireplace inside the room. We enjoyed the fireplace during the cold nights in Carmel!
