Nice property, I loved the fact that they have a socializing hour around 530 where they give you wine, cheeses, cookies and other snacks. The owner is super nice. On the negative the mattress sloped towards your feel but didn’t affect sleep. Rooms are small but charming. Perhaps a bit more expensive than it should be for what you get.

We especially enjoyed the beautifully decorated and appointed common areas and breakfast dining room. The outside grounds are beautiful and the fire pit an added bonus. The manager and her husband were attentive and very helpful. Richard was delightful to chat with and a great cook. Our room and bathroom was beautiful and clean but very small and difficult to navigate, especially for my 6’4” husband.

Lovely place with plenty of areas to chill out both in the building and out on the grounds. It being a little further outside of town was ideal as it helped the natural setting and quiet atmosphere stand out. The nightly bonfire was a nice touch.

This is an excellent place to stay when visiting Woodstock. The hosts couldn’t be more gracious and attentive. The bed was very comfortable. The daily reception at 5 was outstanding with wine and local cheeses and crudités. Highly recommend this place.

A quaint boutique historic hotel with a cool little bar and fine dining. The view from our room overlooking the garden and lush lawn added to the tranquil atmosphere that we were hoping for. The owners were pleasant and friendly.

The inn was marvelous. The inn keeper and her husband the maintenance man were charming and responsive to our needs and kept the place immaculate. The restaurant was dissapointing. Service was terrible, eggs were over cooked. Toast was slathered in butter (I think it was butter). No salt, pepper or any other condiments were on the table and the waitress was no where to be found so we ate the meal as it was getting cold. We did not go back the next day

We absolutely loved The Jackson House. Every inch of the house and grounds was immaculate and beautiful. Breakfast was amazing every morning and served in a gorgeous dining room. We didn’t want to leave!

Overall, we had a mostly positive stay. We had a late check-in, and when we arrived in our room, there was no hand soap in the bathroom, no tissues in the tissue box, and no shampoo in the shower (only conditioner). The lack of hand soap thing really bothered me as someone who takes hand hygiene seriously, especially in the bathroom. There was a pair of dirty men’s socks in the corner of the room that a previous guest had left behind, so it didn’t give me confidence our room had been thoroughly cleaned. There were also multiple bugs in our room throughout the stay. The first night, it was a large fly buzzing around all night, and we killed other types of bugs while there, as well. Not a huge deal, but it made me wish for better pest control at the property. We were also sent the wrong key code and were locked out of our room for a while. To be clear, the staff members we interacted with were kind and helpful. We just felt things got off to a rough start and honestly wished pretty early on we had chosen a different place to stay in Woodstock. For the price we paid, I had higher expectations than what we experienced. With some stronger attention to detail, especially when it comes to thoroughly cleaning and providing the bare minimum for supplies (like soap), this place could be great.

Best bed ever. Charming room. Wonderful service. Charming place. But the various machine noises (heating unit? Fans? All during the night (even after turning the one in my room off) were a real nuisance. That’s my only complaint.

The property is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. Our room, number 29, was above the entry to the Inn and restaurant so we had to deal with the door slamming closed quite early and late. Additionally we had no cell service, which would have been ok, but the Internet was down from Saturday evening to Sunday morning and we couldn’t contact anyone and couldn’t find anyone on site to assist. Breakfast is not included, but there is tea and coffee. Pretty grounds. There was no parking available for guests near the Inn when we got in around 7pm on Friday. We had to park across the street and down a ways. Not a big deal, but something to consider.

The innkeeper, Lea, was excellent! She helped with our check in process. It went seamlessly. And she helped us when we had an issue with our TV. She was also extremely helpful with our breakfast and checkout! I would give her 5 stars! And the home was beautiful!!!

Beautiful property with wonderful attention to detail and warm, friendly staff — really enjoyed our stay! Staff was warm and welcoming but never got my check in code. The breakfast was not included, and the restaurant was closed for dinner, leaving very few food options. Fireplace would not turn on, someone kept slamming the door downstairs as well (which is not the mgmt's fault I realize). It was a nice place but would stay closer to town with a proper B&B

Friend of mine and I stayed overnight just to check out Vermont (I had always wanted to go there). We both LOVED this place. Very charming, lovely decor, and great food--especially at dinner. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Would definitely recommend this place and return again in the future.

We had trouble checking in because we booked through Expedia and never received our room codes. We eventually just came to the property hoping we could get in and Leah was very gracious and showed us to our rooms.
We had trouble checking in because we booked through Expedia and never received our room codes. We eventually just came to the property hoping we could get in and Leah was very gracious and showed us to our rooms.

This is an excellent place to stay when visiting Woodstock. The hosts couldn’t be more gracious and attentive. The bed was very comfortable. The daily reception at 5 was outstanding with wine and local cheeses and crudités. Highly recommend this place.

Overall, we had a mostly positive stay. We had a late check-in, and when we arrived in our room, there was no hand soap in the bathroom, no tissues in the tissue box, and no shampoo in the shower (only conditioner). The lack of hand soap thing really bothered me as someone who takes hand hygiene seriously, especially in the bathroom. There was a pair of dirty men’s socks in the corner of the room that a previous guest had left behind, so it didn’t give me confidence our room had been thoroughly cleaned. There were also multiple bugs in our room throughout the stay. The first night, it was a large fly buzzing around all night, and we killed other types of bugs while there, as well. Not a huge deal, but it made me wish for better pest control at the property. We were also sent the wrong key code and were locked out of our room for a while. To be clear, the staff members we interacted with were kind and helpful. We just felt things got off to a rough start and honestly wished pretty early on we had chosen a different place to stay in Woodstock. For the price we paid, I had higher expectations than what we experienced. With some stronger attention to detail, especially when it comes to thoroughly cleaning and providing the bare minimum for supplies (like soap), this place could be great.

We spent 5 nights in September at the Jackson House Inn. Nothing but raves for this beautiful Bed and Breakfast in Woodstock. Robin and Chef Jeffrey are exceptional hosts, both in providing personalized service and in maintaining this beautiful property. Room accomodations were lovely and comfortable. An expedia error had caused some confusion, but our hosts seamlessly made it work. The breakfasts were creative, seasonal, locally sourced, and delicious. All served with care, and a beautiful dining room view to cap it off. We had made our dietary needs known before we arrived, and never had to say another word. They got it right every morning. We explored the house and gardens upon arrival, and knew we chose the right place to relax, and recharge. Location is fantastic, though not really walkable enough for us to downtown Woodstock, a simple 5 minute drive to amazing dinner restaurants and local Woodstock shopping. Lots to visit in this area, plenty more within a 30 minute drive. Overall, 5 star property from us. Robin and Chef Jeffrey get 5 stars as well. Lovely place with plenty of areas to chill out both in the building and out on the grounds. It being a little further outside of town was ideal as it helped the natural setting and quiet atmosphere stand out. The nightly bonfire was a nice touch.

Great time in a Beautiful Inn. Staff very accommodating. Great location. Nice and quiet if thats what your looking for. They have a pub but not opened yet. Will be nice when that happens. Heard rumors that they want to go in the direction of contactless everything, I hope not, if i wanted to stay at a hotel i would have. If i pick a B&B or Inn i expect a personal feel. Please dont lose that.

The property is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. Our room, number 29, was above the entry to the Inn and restaurant so we had to deal with the door slamming closed quite early and late. Additionally we had no cell service, which would have been ok, but the Internet was down from Saturday evening to Sunday morning and we couldn’t contact anyone and couldn’t find anyone on site to assist. Breakfast is not included, but there is tea and coffee. Pretty grounds. There was no parking available for guests near the Inn when we got in around 7pm on Friday. We had to park across the street and down a ways. Not a big deal, but something to consider.

The Jackson was a winter oasis. They mastered the accommodating in accommodations. I made a late arrival due to severe weather, but the Innkeeper stayed up to 10:45 pm to greet me & provide orientation. Blissfully peaceful & extremely comfortable room with jacuzzi tub. My cell phone reception was really spotty, and they very kindly allowed me to borrow their main phone for a crucial call. Best of all was the custom made scrumptious breakfast of steel cut oats with chopped walnuts, sliced bananas and incomparable Vermont maple syrup. I travelled from California to visit family & plan on making the Jackson my home away from home.

The inn was very clean and well kept and the grounds were very well landscaped. The only complaint I have is that breakfast was the same every day with granola fresh fruit juice and quiche everyday. I think being in VT. Pancakes , waffles and VT maple syrup and even scrambled eggs with fresh pastry. Very Disappointed in the breakfast.

Staff was warm and welcoming but never got my check in code. The breakfast was not included, and the restaurant was closed for dinner, leaving very few food options. Fireplace would not turn on, someone kept slamming the door downstairs as well (which is not the mgmt's fault I realize). It was a nice place but would stay closer to town with a proper B&B

The place is amazing and so was the room we stayed in. There was not a choice in breakfast . You need to make sure in advance that you can get what you like or closer to it.

the manager Lea was wonderful and most accommodating . she went above and beyond to be sure we had everything we needed. The inn is very quaint and exceptionally clean. The breakfast could use more choices if it is going to stay continental. Not what you would expect from a Bed and Breakfast! That would be our biggest complaint.

Friend of mine and I stayed overnight just to check out Vermont (I had always wanted to go there). We both LOVED this place. Very charming, lovely decor, and great food--especially at dinner. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Would definitely recommend this place and return again in the future.

It was very nice and quaint. The gentleman Sean, I believe his name that served wine and cheese was a very friendly person and and funny. The restaurant was good. The only thing we were on the third floor and that was hard for us since we were 78 years old. Oh

The Jackson is well-located, comfortable, and well appointed. The gardens are lovely, the staff pleasant, and breakfast in the attached restaurant was delicious. We did appreciate the 24 hour available coffee and tea, and though we did not take advantage of the offered happy hour wine and cheese, it looked lovely. Checkout was a breeze. There was a small, soon rectified glitch at check-in, our room (28) was a little dusty, especially under the bed, and most concerning was the missing smoke alarm; naked wires where an alarm had once been installed was not comforting. That being said, if we return to the Woodstock area in the future, we would definitely want to stay again at The Jackson.
